Name: Thael Rusthorn

Gender: Male

Age: 32

Race: Human

Tribe: Centoraurian

Occupation: Mercenary

Title: Rogue of the Demon Drake

Overview:
Thael was born in the city of Voldar. At the age of twelve his parents sent him to study under his Uncle, where he learned to Read and Write. During his time there both his parents succumbed to sickness and died. He left his Uncle at the age of nineteen and sought a life of adventure. While serving on a merchant ship he was captured by pirates, and forced to join them. During his five-year stay among the pirates he studied Battle tactics under Arkan Delath. After being exiled by the pirates, and washed up on the continent of Nybelmar, he was found by nomads with whom he spent the next six years. From there he set out to return to Sarvonia where he now works as a mercenary, with the help of his Demon Drake, employing all the skills and knowledge he has learned to this day.

Appearance:
Thael is about 2 peds in height and weighs about 1 pygge, 6 hebs, and 1 hafheb. He has shoulder length black hair tied back with a strip of leather. His left eye color is blue, but the right is brown, and they seem cold and distant at times. His frame is quite muscular, yet slender with suntanned skin. His Face is quite handsome, with a distinct jaw line and high cheekbones. A scar on the right side of his face runs from his hairline to his jaw. His clothing is very formfitting, made up of a simple black shirt and pants. The black leather Armour that covers them is made from the skin of a giant snake and well padded. It is battle scared in several places but otherwise in great condition. His riding boots are made from Drake skin, are also dark in color, and well polished. He often wears a dark, hooded, wolf hide cloak to shield himself from bad weather and to conceal himself within the shadows. Drake skin gauntlets, etched with runes adorn his forearms. A flat linked silver chain is draped around his neck, and thick silver hoops dangle from his ears. Two silver spikes jut from his chin just below his lip. Several tattoos cover his body. The one on his back is a intricate tribal cross, but most of the time his clothes cover it. A white rose can be seen on his left arm. And the Tree of life, surrounded by runes, is depicted on his right side.

Personality:
Thael is not very outgoing and has distrust for most people, pirates especially since his betrayal. Orcs are also not among his favorites. The only people Thael feels comfortable around  are his own people of centorauria. He is a bit charismatic and usually uses this trait to gain information through flirting with the barmaids, and purchasing ale for unsuspecting patrons of the inns and taverns he might frequent while carrying out a contract, looking for work, or simply traveling throughout the land.

He can also be temperamental and hardheaded at times, and often gets himself into trouble. He will defend his opinions if challenged, unless overwhelming evidence is presenter in the others favor, especially if ale is involved. He has a distinct love for the outdoors, and the peace and tranquility that he and his beast enjoy there. He will spend many days in the wilderness when not on assignment, and will only return if in need of supplies or money.

Thael is very meticulous in most things he does. This is probably the result of his Uncles' influences, whos' mottos included " if at first you don't succeed, try again "," keep movin' forward", and " if you can't do it right the first time, learn and do better the next".

Strengths:
~ He is somewhat skilled in tracking. This allows him to follow his prey in most terrain.
~ He has moderate skills in the art of bowman ship. While he is a good hunter, his arrows sometimes have trouble finding their mark in battle
~ Thael shares the company of a Demon Drake. This allows him to get around quickly, due to the speed of the beast. It also gives him added protection in the wilderness. He also uses it to carry some of his vital supplies. The Drake can hunt and forage for its own food when in the wild.
~ He has the ability to make medicine using several plants and herbs. This knowledge probably helped him retain part of his sight after the incident on Nybelmar.

Weaknesses:
~ He has distrust for most people, and prefers the company of his beast. This distrust is the result of the betrayal of Arkan Delath whom he respected very much.
~ He doesn't feel the need for most earthly possessions, and rarely stays in any given place to long, therefore making few acquaintances.
~ Thael is nearly blind in his right eye. This hinders him often in combat, and could allow someone to sneak up on him should this person be aware of his handicap.
~ Once he has convinced himself of something his opinion is not easily swayed. This can cause him to make mistakes, and land himself and others in dire situations.
~ He has a fondness for the ladies. This can leave him vulnerable and open to attack should the lady be of sinister intent. He also doesn't believe in harming a woman, which can be to his disadvantage.
~ His Demon Drake is very hard to control during battle, and does not behave well in most social settings. The beast also requires large amounts of food when stabled. It also becomes very restless whenever it is not in Thaels company.

History:
Born of the Centoraurian tribe, Thael can trace his bloodline back to that of Thar the great. This made his parents quite affluent and wealthy. But it is said that after the passing of his Mother and Father he hid away their wealth, and left the family business for his Uncle, for Thael had no use for this, and most worldly possessions. He rather chooses to live with what he can carry upon his back, making his home wherever he wishes.

Raised near the Vardynn capital of Voldar, and named after the forest which surrounds it (Thaelon Forest) His Father often took him hunting in these woods as a child, this is where he learned to meld with the shadows and to use the bow quite aptly. His father had built quite a successful trade business in the city where Thaels Uncle lived and tended after the different aspects of said business. He proved to be quite smart and strong willed so at the age of twelve his parents sent him to stay with his Uncle Chromwell Rusthorn in the city. Here he was taught to read and write, and how to be a successful businessman. Thael did not like this, he thought that his time was better spent in physical endeavors rather than the study of old dusty tomes, and the sale of items to little old ladies. He would often neglect his chores to roam the streets of the city, and fell behind in his studies. One day, during the fourth year of his stay with his Uncle, Thael received the news that both his parents had fallen ill with fever and died. This news devastated him and he became more and more distant, spending most of his time away from others. The memory of his mother and father haunted him and everything in and around Voldar seemed to bring back memories of them. So after seven years, several of which he spent in mourning, he left his Uncle to pursue a life of adventure, and to escape the world that so reminded him of his parents. Thus he found himself serving as a deckhand on a merchant ship. But one day, as the Merchant vessel was returning to the mainland it was attacked by members of the Crimson Blades. (Pirates) Thael along with several other members of the crew was captured. They where given a choice of joining up with the order or death, and since he was rather fond of living he joined the pirates.

Now a pirate, Thael decided to get a tattoo, the first of several he would acquire over the next few years. During this very painful process, Thael slipped into a trance like state and his usually jumbled thoughts seemed to become clearer. The pain enveloped his very being, and he felt a strange kind of peace. All the dark memories of his parents, and his inability to be by their side during the time of their deaths, where a little bit more bearable. Almost like the tattoo covering his skin had somehow cast a thin veil over them. He would also acquire several piercings, which had the same, but slightly weaker effect. Quite impressed by both arts and himself handy with pen and ink, he observed the process whenever he could. Thael still practices the art to this day as a hobby.

He met the blind leader of the Crimson Blades during a scuffle that broke out between Thael and another man at the end of which the other lay battered and bleeding. Arkan Delath, seeming to be in one of his better moods that day, invited Thael to share ale. The one ale turned into a few, all of which Thael paid for. The pirate leader decided at the end of the conversation that the young man reminded him much of himself in better days. He said with a laugh, the only reason Thael had won the fight was the other mans inability to hold his ale. Thael didn't know why the pirate leader decided to take him under his wing. Maybe because he wanted a protégé. Maybe because he didn't have a son of his own. Or maybe he needed someone he could trust to help him regain control over his band of pirates who at this point where constantly fighting amongst each other. But Thael wasn't very happy with his life at sea, so one day he confronted Arkan with his plight. And after some deliberation Arkan gave Thael his blessing and allowed him to leave the guild. Arkan Delath proved to be more sinister than Thael had realized, and while the pirate fleet sailed some ways off the coast of Nybelmar he found himself set adrift in a small boat without food or water.

But the Gods smiled upon the young man and after several days his small craft washed up on the shores of Nybelmar. His boat had been carried somewhat upriver by the tides and Doimo nomads discovered him on the bank of the Zhunith. Starved and half-dead from thirst, Thael was only semi-conscious and drifted in and out of sleep. During which time he had strange dreams of a short, brown man with unusually long limbs dancing about wildly, and several others sitting in the background. He awoke about midday; the heat was almost unbearable even though he was in the shade. The people that had found him where obviously friendly, not having killed him upon discovery. The dancing man from his dream noticed that Thael was awake and entered the crudely constructed shelter. He offered him a plant of some sort and motioned for him to eat. The plant was not very good, but still rather juicy, and to Thaels surprise he could feel his strength return almost instantly. Later he came to regret eating it, because he didn't sleep for three days. During this time he came to find out that the man in his dream was in fact the medicine man of a small nomad tribe called the Severim, that was part of the Doimo people. The two men sat for hours around a small fire pit in the center of the camp and got to know one another, while the other members of the tribe went about their usual business of hunting and foraging.

Thael stayed with this tribe for several years. Traveling across the dry lands of the Naezshan Zhunith. He learned many aspects of Doimo life including, botanies, tracking, and how to find water in places others could not. During this time Thael also had the time to improve his skill with the bow, often joining the nomad hunting parties.
The Medicine man also taught Thael some of his secrets. He taught him how to contact the spirits through the use of "spirit smoke", and how to make healing salves out of different plants and herbs.
But since the Doimo language consists of mostly clicks, the old man explained these things through speech as best he could, and the rest through drawings or example.

When the time came to leave the nomadic people and return to the continent of Sarvonia, Thael set out toward the cities of Zhun. He traveled west along the mountains, and while searching for a pass that would take him across he unknowingly strayed into orc territory. One day while in the foothills attempting to make camp he encountered an orc. This orc, who was an Orcal drake handler, was just on his way back from purchasing his newest pupil and was just as surprised as Thael. During the short struggle that followed Thael received a gash across his face that left him nearly blind in his right eye. After defeating the orc, Thael concealed the body, tended to his wounds, and gathered the orcs belongings. They consisted of a well-crafted war bow, a scimitar, a long knife, several pelts, a water skin and dried meat, and a Dragon egg. This egg, though Thael didn't know it, had just been dug from its nest and was ready to hatch. The hatching occurred while he carried it in the folds of his cloak, close to his body, as not to damage it. Thael fed this hatchling with the dried meat he had gained from the orc, and from this moment on the two would become inseparable.

The two made the journey across the mountains, and finally reached the cities of Zhun. Thaels new companion proved always to be hungry and somewhat hard to control, so after some inquiries he managed to obtain the name of a well-known Drake handler. The man was said to be the trainer of several Demon Drakes, and responsible for the care of the beasts used by the local militia cavalry. It took some convincing but after several failed attempts the man finally agreed to teach Thael how to train and care for his new friend.

From there they made the four-week journey to the continent of Sarvonia. He returned to Voldar and found his Uncle in good health and that the business had grown considerably in Thaels absence. Chromwell had expanded and now owned several stores featuring fine goods from throughout Caelereth. When Thael was ready to move on his Uncle outfitted him with several items to aid him in his travels. Armour made from the skin of a giant snake, Drake skin boots and gauntlets and a fine leather bag to carry his belongings. He also gave Thael a silver chain that belonged to his father, which he treasures and wears to this day.

Thael accompanied by his Drake, now works as a mercenary using his tracking skills and knowledge much to his success.

Weapons:
He carries a Scimitar as a secondary weapon resting in a sheath that is strapped on his back from left to right. His pack can be worn over this comfortably. A quiver of arrows is worn on a leather strap around his waist. The Rune covered hilt of a hunting knife, used mostly for everyday tasks and not fighting, can sometimes be seen in his left boot. He also carries a composite bow crafted from wood, horn, and bone, Modeled after the famed Orcish War bow. This is usually tied to the bags carried by his Drake through a leather strap that is quickly released. The arrows he carries are all wooden with metal tips.

Belongings:
Upon his back Thael carries a pack crafted from fine leather, its contents is as follows:
~ Some string.
~ Several strips of leather.
~ Several pieces of flint.
~ A small marble bowl used for mixing inks.
~ A Small sharpening stone.
~ 4 Small silver needles, each a little bit larger than the last.
~ A small pouch filled with medical plants and herbs.
His Drake also carries similar leather bags filled with provisions, Fur blankets and miscellaneous articles.

Familiars:
Thael owns and cares for a young Demon Drake whom he named Artimis. He hatched himself, acquiring the egg from Orcs personal effects after he was attacked by it, and forced to kill it. The Drake is about 2 peds in height and about 4 peds in length. It has three claws on each of its hind feet, and five on each of its front. The front claws are shaped like a human hand that allows it to pick up and carry things. The Drakes skin is scaly, rough, and brown in color. A crest runs from its nose to the crown of its head. Two small, but fully usable wings are located just behind its shoulders. Since hatching, Thael and the drake have bonded closely and the beast will defend his handler fiercely even to the death if necessary. Even though the drake has developed a bond with Thael it shuns others, and must be kept under close watch when in the company of others.

Personality:
The Drake is Thaels companion more by choice, and enjoys his handlers company. He is playful at times and knows not his own size and strength, which often results in bumps and bruises on his companions part. When Traveling in the wilderness Thael allows the beast free reign, but the Drake will never stray far from his master always keeping within hearing distance of him. It enjoys to hunt and once the beast has completed this task it will return with the kill, looking for Thaels approval and to share it with his companion. When the two are not on assignment, or traveling, it enjoys basking in the sun for hours. The Drake also spends a lot of time grooming itself, and sometimes attempts to groom Thael, much to his dismay. More often then not the two get along well and the beast tolerates the leather packs strapped to its back during travel. But on more than one occasion the beast has lashed out at Thael knocking him to the ground and bearing his teeth as it flailed his tail and beat its wings wildly, never seriously injuring him but nevertheless conveying its aggravation. This has happened usually when in the company of others and has caused them to be expelled from a few towns and cities.

Hi Thael! Nice to see more Centoraurians; we rock.

Still, I have to say, level 3 magic, weapon proficiencies, advanced alchemy, and the service of a demon-drake pet seem excessively powerful, especially when compared to a pretty wishy-washy 'social' flaw. I would also not consider level 3 wind magic to be "all but useless in battle" – just from looking at the spells list, you are apparently capable of casting spells that render you all but invulnerable to ranged attacks, which are capable of preventing others from engaging you in melee, and at lower levels provide invisibility and evasion. These are effects that can bestow a huge tactical advantage if used wisely. Just because your magic isn't necessarily of the "kill it with fire" variety doesn't mean it has no combat utility.

There also seems to be a strange disparity in that all your strengths are based on strengthening yourself in combat, while your weaknesses are generally of a more 'social' nature. The viability of a character isn't determined only by their combat viability.

Your history seems interesting, though, and how you came by your skills makes for an interesting read. I would still suggest that your strengths and weaknesses need tweaking.

Right, not to re-itterate, you cannot have magic as well as fighting skills. You carry a total of four individual weapons. Two of which are falchions. I assume you aren't just carrying a backup. Each is a two pound weapon with  a blade of roughly a metre (to the tip from the hilt.) You propose, it seems to use two of these weapons. You are twenty eight, you'd not have the time to learn how to make poison, and how to use not only one falchion, but to use both without lopping off your own hands, as well as bowmanship.
Each weapon you have and can use does count as a skill.

You may want to change the "white rose" bit as there is already a character that possesses that as a title, and I don't think we want any arguments.

You can always say that you have some sort of physical disability, like maybe your arm hurts once in a while from some accident you had, and when it hurts, you're all but unable to move. Or you have a split personality. And the other side is evil and causes you harm. Or you have a overwhelming fear of so-and-so or blah blah blah, and when you encounter he/she/it you're reduced to nothing but a blubbery mass.

You can have lvl 3 magic if you want, just no weapon skills with it.

I would actually suggest against 'balancing' a character by compensating for overwhelming power with overwhelming disabilities. You become the incredible telekinetic thalidomide blind deafmute midget who can levitate the Pyramids and throw them around with the force of his mind but can't get a date to save his life. Adopting a personality disorder like a split personality in order to justify better fighting skills/spellcasting just seems odd.

WHO your character is isn't determined by what he DOES. Not being able to both cast spells and outfight everyone shouldn't be seen as restrictive, and neither should hampered social skills and adopting phobias be seen as an enabling thing.

I know I should hardly be saying this with my character's intense fear of (specifically fire) magic, but I included it as a personality thing rather than a way of justifying (largely nonexistent) powers.

As both Seh'nara and Dorj have already said, weapon skills and magic do not go together.  This is because 1) They are very different skills both requiring your full attention to learn and 2) They make a character amazingly hard to balance.

Hope that makes it nice and clear  :)

Edit: I am not a moderator so I can't give you a completly absolute answer, but I have seen "weapon skills and magic do not go together" on several other CDs *shrug* You haven't studied for long enough to reach level 2 though, you need 2 years to reach level 1 and a further 3 years to reach level 2.  You say you have only studied for 3 and a half.

Kudoes for a spirited attempt at balancing things out; unfortunately you seem to have missed the heart of what most people's reactions have been: that your character simply has too many "assets" for someone of your apparent age. Let me list them.

1) proficiency with multiple weapon types
- scimitar
- dagger
- warbow

2) advanced knowledge of alchemy
- specifically, the manufacture of poison.
a more generalised proficiency in alchemy, such as the use of simple herbs for poultices and tisanes, might be considered realistic; but you specifically state that you possess the knowledge and skill to produce a poison that is both rare and extremely lethal

3) magic
- granted, reduced in power
- most people still have issues with a single character combining proficiencies in magic and physical combat. Personally I don't think this is a huge issue, but nonetheless, it adds to the total tally

4) familiar
- not just a dragon, not just a demon, but a demon drake
- most others who have opted to include the services of an animal companion have restricted themselves (at least initially) to relatively mundane animals: ie, horses, wolves, cats

To balance out four major assets, you offer minor social flaws:

1) wanderlust
- personally I would not consider this a weakness so much as a general attribute; certainly there are enough itinerants around who have not suggested that their lifestyle is in itself a liability (cough)

2) asceticism
- possibly a viable one, if you're willing to accept the problems that come with it; unfortunately, while your character may not seem liable to accumulate more precious possessions, you already seem kitted out with a fair assortment of weapons that seem both exotic and expensive, including an ornate runed dagger and a bow that does not fit the "standard" type

3) brashness
- while I do believe that this is an actual liability, adhering too closely to it in roleplay might be aggravating for others as well as yourself
- I'm not quite sure what the 'official' stance on this is, but I suspect that creating a character with "psychotic murderer" as a flaw does not actually give one carte blanche to go around murdering people; in a similar fashion, having "abrasiveness" as a flaw might necessitate you to actually be unkind and uncouth to others, which I see as an actual social disability, and not merely a roleplaying "flaw" to balance out combat proficiencies

4) stubbornness
- see above for my comments on "social flaws" – they are not just "cons" that you use to balance out "pros", but are generally actually debilitating to the roleplaying experience.

My reservations on social flaws are, of course, entirely personal and idiosyncratic: if you and the others are fine with you entering the world as a socially-impaired spellsword, and if that's the kind of character you actually want to play, go ahead.

My personal conviction is that playing a socially impaired character in a roleplaying context that is, essentially, social, is an odd choice to make, but that one's up to you. I do think that my continuing reservations on your "combat optimisation" holds water, although I gracefully turn to those more experienced than I to either support or negate my comments.

Don't take it personally, Thael; I'd love to meet more Centoraurians on the road. I'm just suggesting ways of actually getting you on the road quicker.

ok i changed the age of my character, and lengthend his stay at the academy.Sorry i was under the impression that the required length was total and not a cobination of years. My magic is not strong and he cant use it to cause harm, the spells he is abel to cast are only cast on himself. as for the demon drake it is named for the appearance of the beast not beacause of demon origin, and is used as an alternate mount ! Also i would really like the opinion of a modearator on all this ! don't get me wrong all this is positive criticisim , and i do appreciate the help !

Don't worry, we understand the mild frustration and confusion, we were all there once  ;)  One quick pointer - himself rather than himselfe.

You've obviously done a lot of reading, and I think the main issue will be balancing those strengths.  Good luck!

Thank you for being understanding about our critique (well, especially mine, since I've been particularly vocal). I do think that a moderator's input would be very helpful. In the absence of one, however, I'm sure you'll fine that lending your ear to the critique of the others on the board will make the titling process much, much faster when you do manage to catch the eye of a mod.

The compromises you've made have indeed helped your character come a long way, and he does look much more viable now than he was initially. Good luck with the titling process; I'm sure the mods will be unfailingly helpful and encouraging.

Gender: Male

Age: 32

Race: Human

Tribe: Centoraurian

Occupation: Mercenary

Title: Rogue of the Demon Drake

Overview:
Thael was born in the city of Voldar. At the age of twelve his parents sent him to studie at the Academy of Magic, where he learned to wield Wind Magic. During his time there both his parents succumed to sicknessand died. He left the Academy at the age of nineteen and sought a life of adventure. While serving on a merchant ship he was captured by pirates, and forced to join them. During his five year stay among the pirates he studied Battle tactics and melee fighting under Arkan Delath. After being exiled by the pirates, and washed up on the continent of Nybelmar, he was found by nomads whith whom he spent the next six years. His left eye color is blue, but the right is brown, and they seem cold and distant at times. His frame is quite muscular, yet slender with sunntanned skin. His Face is qute hadsome, with a distinct jawline and high cheekbones.A scar on the right his face  runs from his hairline to his jaw.  His clothing is very formfitting, made up of a simple black shirt and pants. The black leather armour that  covers them is made from the skin of a giant snake and well padded. It is battlescared in several places but otherwise in grat condition. His riding boots are made from Drake skin, are also dark in color, and well polished. He often wears a dark, hooded, wolfhide cloak to shield himselfe from bad weather and to conceal himselfe within the shadows. Drake skin gauntlets, etched with runes adorn his forearms. A flat linked silver chain is draped around his neck, and thick silver hoops dangle from his ears. Two silver spickes jutt from his chin just below his lip. Several tatoos cover his body. The one on his back is an intricat tribal cross, but most of the time his clothes cover it. A white rose can be seen on his left arm. And the Tree of life, surrounded by runes, is depicted on his rigt side.

Personality:
Thael is not very outgoing and hase a distrust for most people. He is a bit charismatic and usually uses this trait to gain information. He can also be tempramental and hardheaded at times, and often gets himself into trouble, especially if ale is involved. He hase a distinct love for the outdoors and will spend many days in the wilderness.

Strengths:
He is somewhat skilled in tracking, and hase moderate skills in the art of bowmanship. He mainly relys on his abillitys in meele fighting. The young man also hase the abillity to perform several minor acts of Wind Magic. He is one of very few outsiders with the knowlege to make the very potent poison used by the Doimo nomads. Thael is very meticilous in most things he does. He does'nt feel the need for most earthly posessions, and is content with what he, and his drake can carry.

Weaknesses:
He has a distrust for most people, and preferrs the company of his beast. His magical abillities aren't very advanced and, despite having studied for seven years at the academy, are all but useless on others, and during battle. His skill with the bow is moderate, and while he is a good hunter, his arrows often have trouble finding their mark in battle. He does'nt feel the need  for most earthly posessions, and rarely stayes in any given place to long, therefore making few aquaintances. His mouth often gets him into trouble. And once he hase convinced himself of something his opinion is not easily swayed.

Magic:
Thael hase the abillity to perform Wind magic, but his powers only extend to that of a level 2 mage. The results of the spells that he has the abillity to cast are usually not of great use in battle and he relys mostly on his skills with the blade.

History:
Born of the Centoraurian tribe Thael can trace his bloodline back to that of Thar the great. This made his parents quite affluent and wealthy. But it is said that after the passing of his Mother and Father he hid away their wealth for Thael had no use for this and most worldly posessions. He rather chooses to live with what he can carry upon his back, making his home wherever he wishes.

Raised near the Vardynn capital of Voldar, and named after the forest which surrounds it( Thaelon Forest ) his Father often took him hunting in these woods as a child, this is where he learned to meld with the shadows and to use the the bow quite aptly. He proved to be quite smart and strong willed, so at the age of twelve his parents sent him to the Magical Academy to be learned in the mystical arts. Thael did not like this, he thought that his time was better spent in physical endeavors  rather than the study of old dusty tomes. He would often neglect his training , and fell behind in his studies. So after seven years and the passing of both his parents he left the academy to peresue a life of adventure. Thus he found himselfe serving as a deckhand on a merchant ship. But one day, as the Merchant vessel was returning to the  mainland it was attacked by members of the Crimson Blades ( Pirates )For fear of his life he did not make use of what little
magic he knew, and Thael along with several other members of the crew was captured. They where given a choice of joining up with the order or death, and since he was rather fond of living he joined the pirates.

Now a pirate Thael needed to look the part. So he decided to get a tatoo, the first of several he would aquire over the next few years. He would alo aquire several piercings. Quite impressed by both arts, and himselfe handy with pen and ink, he observed the process whenever he could. And Thael still practices the art to this day, though only on his own flesh.

He met the blind leader of the Crimson Blades during a scuffle that broke out between Thael and another man at the end of which the other lay dead. Arkan Delath, seeming to be in one of his better moods that day, invited Thael to share an ale. The one ale turned into a few, all of which Thael payed for. The pirate leader decided at the end of the conversation that the youngman reminded him much of himselfe in better days, and that he was to be tutored in handeling the sword by one of his experts. He said that Thaels swordsmanship needed much improvement and the only reason he had won the fight was the other mans inabillity to hold his ale. The elder pirate also tought Thael different battle tactics needed to win scirmishes at sea. Thael did'nt know why the pirate leader decided to take him under his wing. Maybee because he wanted a protoge. Maybee because he did'nt have a son of his own. Or maybee he needed someone he could trust to help him regain controll over his band of pirates, who at this point where constantly fighting amongst themselves. But Thael wasn't very happy with his life at sea, so oneday he confronted Arkan with his plight. And after some deliberation Arkan gave Thael his blessing and alowed him to leave the guild. Arkan Delath proved to be more sinister than Thael had realized, and he found himselfe set adrift without food or water.

But the Gods smiled uppon the young man and after several days his small craft washed up on the shores of Nybelmar. His boat had been carried somewhat upriver by the tides and he was dicovered on the bank of the Zhunith by Doimo nomads. Starved and half dead from thirst, Thael was only semi-concious and drifted in and out of sleep. During which time he had strange dreams of a short, brown man with unusually long limbs dancing about wildly, and several others sitting in the background. He awoke about midday, the heat was almost unberable even though he was in the shade. The people that had found him where obviously friendly, not having killed him uppon dicovery. The dancing man from his dream noticed that Thael was awake and entered the crudely constructed shelter. He offered him a plant of some sort and motioned for him to eat. The plant was not very good, but still rather jucy, and to Thaels suprise he could feel his streangth return almost instantly. Later he came to regret eating it, beacause he did'nt sleep for three days.During this time he came to find out that the man in his dream was in fact the medicine man of a small nomad tribe called the Severim, that was part of the Doimo people. The two men sat and talked for hours, while the other members of the tribe went about their usual buissines of hunting and foraging.

Thael stayed with this tribe for several years. Traveling across the dry lands of the Naezshan Zhunith. He learend many aspects of Doimo life including, botanics, tracking, and how to find water in places others could not. The Medicin man also taught Thael some of his secrets after finding out that he had the use of magic, for all Doimo men with this abillity become medicine men. He taught him how to contact the spirits through the use of "spirit smoke", and how to make the poison that these nomads use to hunt and in time of war.

When the time came to leave the Nomadic people and return to the continent of Sarvonia, Thael set out toward the cyties of Zhun. He traveled westalong the mountains, and while searching for a pass that would take him across he unknowingly strayed into orc territory. One day while in the foothills attempting to make camp he encountered an orc scout. This orc was just as surprised as Thael, and during the short struggle Thael recived a minor gash across his face. After defeating the orc, Thael concealed the body and gatered the orcs belongins. They consisted of a well crafted warbow, a scimitar, a long knife, several pelts, a water skin and dried meat, and a Dragon egg. This egg, though Thael did'nt know it, had just been dug from its nest and was ready to hatch. The hatching occured while he carried it in the folds of his cloak, close to his body, as not to damage it. Thael fed this hatchling with the dried meat he had gained from the orc, and from this moment on the two would become inseperable.

The two made the journey across the mountains, and finally reached the citys of Zhun, from there they made the four week journey to the continent of Sarvonia. Here Thael, accompanied by his Drake, works as a mercinary using his tracking skills and knowlege of poison making much to his sucess.

Weapons:
He carries Scimitar resting in a sheath that is strapped on his back. The Rune covered hilt of a dagger can sometimes be seen in his left boot. He also carries a composite bow crafted from wood, horn, and bone, Modeled after the famed Orcish Warbow. The arrows he carries are all wooden with metal tips, and can be covered with poison.

Belongings:
Uppon his back Thael carries a pack chrafted from fine leather, it's contents is as follows:
   some string
   several strips of leather
   several pieces of flint
a small marble bowl used for mixing inks
   a small sharpening stone
4 small silver needles, each a little bit larger than the last
a small pouch filled with magical Reagents: Eagle feathers, Wizardsleaf, Silver dust ect.
His Drake also carries leather bags filled with provisions, Furr blankets and miscelanious articles.

Familiars:Thael owns and cares for a young Demon Drake he hatched himselfe, aquiring it from an Orcs personal effects after he was attacked by it, and forced to kill it.

While waiting for a mod, you might also want to thoroughly spell-check your CD. "Mercenary" is spelt wrong in the Overview, for example, and there are numerous errors throughout the entirety of it.

I'm wondering why the parents might have forced your character to join them instead of doing the normal piratical thing and making him walk the plank or something? Not that I'm critical of that plot point; it's actually very interesting.
