Title: Arti...
Post by: Muargath on July 15, 2003, 07:57:22 AM
What areas of the world are open for a new game...?
Someplace that has not been developed, or is not currently in development, please.

If you aren't the person to talk to, please let me know who is next on the list for me to ask.

Thanks,

Muargath

I don't entirely understand the question. RPGs should take place in already a bit developed areas, you know...

Then let me elaborate a bit:

Someplace on the map where I won't have to ask permission for every little detail in my game.

It can already be named and have the basics (i.e. history of the people nearby and/or the events that would affect the area).  What I mean by "is not in development" is this: that no one has laid claim to the area.  It is not under development on the other board.

I would like to set up a game within the general "middle Earth" concept of this board, without being told what I can and cannot do.  I'm not planning an alien invasion, you know, or anything that wouldn't fit in the designed world.

I'm asking you because you own the board.  If you don't want me to run a game, I'll understand.  Just let me know.

Don't bait Artimidor into this persecution complex you seem to crave, Muargath.  Don't make it appear that if he doesn't want you to use an undevelopped part of Santharia it means he doesn't want you to run a game.  Arti and everyone else on the development team (FYI:  There's a reason why there is a 'development' team, and an 'RP' team...see if you can figure out the difference.) have done everything they can aside from turning the whole world of Santharia on its head to accomodate your game proposal, Muargath.  What else do you want?  You already turned down development, so why is the fact you can't develop your own stuff so important to you now?  You haven't had to "ask permission for every little detail in [your] game."  You were told that there were no orcs in SS, and given many compromises you could use instead.  You chose to pout and insult people instead of making the game work.

Perhaps it is not my place to say this here but I'm getting sick of your little crusade, and this was just too much...

Uhm... not pouting or crusading, Catch.  Just going to the source.  And you are right about one thing: it's isn't your place to say.

And if I wanted your opinion, I'd have asked this directly to you... which you may or may not have noticed I did not.

Edit:

And I might add, you sure are a hateful cuss, Catch.  I just want to run another game.  I don't feel persecuted until someone posts crap like what you just did.  Figgure that one out.

Second Edit:

Arti:  I did ask if there were someone else to talk to with- point me in that direction.  I'm not baiting you or anyone else... that was Catch"Everyone has a complex but me" Fire's words, not mine.

Third and last edit:

Rayne answered some questions for me on another thread so no need to reply.  Thanks anyway, Arti.  And good luck to you with this board!  :D
