Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on August 26, 2005, 06:33:22 AM
Greetings Tomas, Nystacea!

I wish you all the best with your story, hopefully it will run long and come to a good end without too many players coming and going!

Nasty and Tomas...I have given you both your "Story Moderator" plagues. Make sure you test them out at some point in the "Testing Thread" so I know if they are working ok. I cannot guarantee I will be checking back here that often to check on them.

Is it okay if I'm not yet in the ballroom, but up in the guest chambers dressing to the nines still? (I'll make my first post from there) Then perhaps just before the ofiicial beginning the Duchess could send a summons to my room (knowing how long I take to come down on my own accord). Also, would the guards impede me say if I had to leave the ballroom to fetch something from my chambers? (I have been staying at the castle for over a week afterall)

@Aurelian: I don't want to seperate the members of Party B at this point in the story. So, maybe Ace could simply remember the hassle the guards had given him about getting dressed? Don't puppet any guard NPCs, just mention Ace's thoughts when they were summoning him to the ball. He could also recollect the time he's stayed at the castle, maybe including his thoughts about Duchess Sera and Duke Tasul'i (the duke and duchess of Brinsley arrived with their daughters only recently to attend the ball). About Ace fetching something from his room, he could try to pass the guards, but they would prevent him from leaving the ballroom. They would probably be nice about it, since he has been a guest of the castle for a week. Their orders are to not allow any revelers to pass, this would include Ace.

Ok, *ahem, ahem*, everybody, I have an announcement.

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

There is one space only left in each party for main characters. We will wait a couple of days before we choose who will fill those, as we seem to be getting applications thick and fast. Successful applicants will start at our respective soirees. Those unsuccessful will be waitlisted for guest character positions once we have consolidated the main parties, and all those chars know one-another. If you have already applied, thankyou! If not, this is your last chance!

@Seran: Thanks for applying and sorry for not replying earlier. Since you're so recently back, I want to wait to see what your RPing style is like in the Herald. Hence Nasty kicking you, actually. :b  Also, how long do you think you'll be around for this time? You can answer here, or PM me on any of the methods listed above my CD, on Ezmail, or on #santharia. :biggrin

Xaod, do you have any IM programs, preferably MSN messenger? It'd be good to be able to chat to you, as I will need to talk to you about effective threats and promises for the Duke to use on you... I have an idea, but I need to ok it with you first. It's not strictly necessary, but it's easiser, and good if you're on at the same time as I am, which you were today, briefly.

Note to all other evil-ones: I will be getting in contact with you about this soon, too.

OFFICIAL NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS OF PARTY B:

You are allowed, nay encouraged to puppet the guards as they lead you away to the room Tomas is in. So far, only Tomas and Aurelian have been arrested, but I think we all know that more will follow. You are allowed to describe their words as well as their actions. They can be rough, gentle, or whatever. Its up to each individual player. My only concern is that the players end up in the same room as Tomas. Also, please don't escape from the guards, as that would hinder the plot. If you are unclear as to what I am asking for, you can look at Tomas's post as he was being lead away to get ideas. Please be aware that this is a one time offer, puppeting NPCs in the future will be frowned upon.

Ghost, Xaod,.... Shall whe recognise eachother or not? Or with other words, is this story taking place before the guild is founded or during.... Because i could also accept you to join my guild trough the story. Well anyways if its worth a discussion i'l open up a Bell ringing topic if you want to discuss it. Aye? Well... If we already were in the guild, then our chars. would alread have their own relationships toward each other, and that would be cool.

On the other hand, if we were not yet in the guild, then it would be fun RPing the joining of it, and then our characters would build up their relationships toward each other as the story progresses. That would be interesting as well. So I guess we should wait for the ghost to express his opinion first.:nod

I guess I forgot to mention that I'm not around during the weekends. Darn baddies! Taking advantage of the time I'm away.:devilish  The goodies will soon catch up, as they'll all be in the same room shortly.

@Gararion: As mentioned above, you are encouraged to puppet the guards as they lead you to the room Tomas and Aurelian are in. You can puppet their words and actions, and you can decide how rough they are. In your case, I would assume that they would not be friendly since your staff did hurt their brother.

Just so you know I haven't disappeared, I thought I'd mention that I am gonna wait to post as the Duke 'til everyone's had a chance to react, whether with words or otherwise. *Waits inscrutably* :hat

Actually, it's mostly due to RL commitments which need some serious time at the moment. *Hates Aggleton and Brown's dual-path theory of recognition memory and the 65 page peer-reviewed article on it which she must read* :\   Argh!

But never fear, I will post when necessary, I'm not going anywhere!

Gar, Aurelian didn't offer you anything yet. He just asked you if you wanted some. And btw, lavano is not a leaf, it's the fruit part you eat. Check the posts above.

Title: Re: OOC: First Twilight!
Post by: Tomás Valentín on September 07, 2005, 11:14:22 PM
@Gararion: As mentioned by Aurelian, your post is a bit off in the opening paragraph. Just change the strange leaf to a strange fruit and say that your other companion asked if you wanted any, or something like that. You'll have to edit your post before Aurelian can post again, in my humble opinion.

Title: Re: OOC: First Twilight!
Post by: Gararion on September 08, 2005, 01:03:22 AM
My bad on the leaf part, but I guess I chose the wrong word.  I thought by asking if we wanted some, this was a offer.  Just like when a salesman says 'would you pay $50 for this' he is offering you a price.  I don't believe that I mentioned taking the fruit though.  I just said yes in a elongated form.

I'll change the wording around if you wish, sorry for the confusion.

Ok, I have posted as the Duke, and as you will all no doubt have noticed, added a new thread. This is for the private conversations you - well, the As, anyway - will each be having with the Duke. I made it so that we can avoid cluttering the main thread with stuff going on in a different place. It might also serve the extra use of making it easier to keep player and character knowledge seperate, as of course your char will not know any of what goes on between the Duke and the other occupant(s) of the anteroom. The chars' only knowledge of what has taken place in the room will be the PC's reactions upon leaving the room, and what they tell your char. Cool. :biggrin

@Members of Party B: You are encouraged to post during the weekend, even though I will not be around. I have no problem with Ratdragon, Gararion, and Aurelian talking amongst themselves as Tomas quietly sips his wine. You can discuss anything as I'm just looking for the chars to get acquainted with one another.

Title: Re: OOC: First Twilight!
Post by: Nystacea Korlsdaughter on September 11, 2005, 05:52:22 AM
Ok, Pike; I'm gonna post in the Anteroom now, where you are with the Duke, so your next posts should be made there.

And in case anyone was wondering, the reason I chose the Ghost first is because he is perhaps the least likely to baulk at the idea of leaving the room after Zavosh (even tho it's a different door) and is perhaps the most likely to come out looking smug, thereby encouraging the others to go in.

EDIT: Arh, stink, run out of time. Tomorrow, then :\

To be honest, it is sometimes harder to role play when you are in a conversation then when you have to post actions (which I like, To give my posts some thought). Darién’s mind can sometimes even surprise me, But still I try to make him sympathetic for others to read. Well,.. more or less, He is psycholigally really the very dark side of human maybe even just as worse as the ghost (well,… the ghost would probably be a bigger bad-ass) , Yet he can hide it very well under a layer of normal-humaanity.

Quote:

:nod  I agree, but I also find it more rewarding to play the talking, thinking parts and then be able to slowly discover where the plot is going. I also find it helps me to connect more with my character.

I am trying to figure out if by this, you mean you want more action (or it won't be fun)? If you ever want changes in the story, let us know. Player feedback is very important to me and I am always willing to take others' ideas into consideration with Eri. Of course there would be discussions between Eri and I about what would affect the plot, but if you have an idea that you want to play out, you can mention it and we can see if we can accomodate.

This goes for everyone, either party, at any time in the game :biggrin

well, i said i'd like to put some tought into my posts, that is whether it is just a simple chat or a battle going on. And i was just saying that with chat i mostly have to put some more tought into a post, to stay in character.
So basicly i mean the same as you.

For story things, yes i have some ideas, but i rather see the mod come up with some interresting things first.
I really like the story as it is so far, and i have no doubt that if the players stay for the entire story ( i really would want to play a story to the end, i've never seen it before but i hope it happens) that whe can keep everything original and exciting till the end.

Action will come soon enough, i don't doubt that.

@Gararion and Ratdragon: I figured it would be more realistic if you two were able to hear the duke's entire statement, considering the hearing of elves.

"You will marry the insane bastard, the future of the duchy depends upon it."

To all: I have spoken to Pikel, and I will be puppetting him out of the story. As he has already spoken to the Duke this won't happen until the party leaves the Duke's home, whereupon the Ghost will take his leave from us all. Until then, the Ghost will be skulking in the background, being unobtrusively bunnied along. I expect that none of your characters will feel the urge to talk to him :b

To Rheine: Sorry, dude, this essay sucks hard. *Has tantrum at it* I'm handing it in today, and should therefore be able to post in five hours time, or tomorrow morning (22hrs away). Hopefully I'll get sorted by this evening. >D

Sorry if I didn't make it clear, Darien. Pikel is being written out, but as you are all in a guarded room atm there are only two ways out:
1) By leaving later, to go on the quest, or
2) By going out dead.
As it wouldn't be very polite of me to kill the Ghost :lol , he will leave the party once we have all left the room. Although I too hope that he will be back, and I will be sure to leave it open to enable him to do so.

Welcome back, Pikel. You can read what you've done since you left and post when you're ready. :broadgrin

Rheine: S'ok, thanks for letting us know. I hope for a post for you soon, as I think there will need to be a number of posts between her and the Duke before she leaves the room.

Subplotters: The subplot will start as soon as I have written the opening scene :biggrin   which should be within the next twelve or so hours.
EDIT: Done. I have set the scene, it is now time for you to place your characters within it. You can have come from anywhere to get there except Holt, as that is where you are going first. Korin: I know your char doesn't like water, so you may want to not meet on the beach but be inland a little where the other three might meet you as they walk west from the beach. Although that applies to all of you. Only one of you really needs to start on the beach, but you can pretty much work it out for yourselves. Play! :biggrin

Nystacea,

I do actualy think I am going to wait untill we are away from the water to join. With my characters great fear of water and nothing around that area for him to have a reason to be there I think it is just best I wait a short time, but once away from the water everything will be fine.

Where we are starting is kind of funny to me, just because my character comes from Kor Mithrid. Thats where he was born and raised and its only a rocks throw or two away from our starting location.

Party C:

Yay, some lovely first posts! It is always exciting to see a new thread take flight.

Just a couple of technical notes:

Scale - Holt is four to five days' ride from Marduran, and about a day's walk north (to the main village) of where you are now, so sorry Hier, but that means you're gonna have to edit your post :\

Time - this can be found in the title of the time-and-weather sticky thread, which is below those of parties 1A and 1B. It is currently the fourth hour of the day. Inside the thread can be found an explanation of what that means, as time is measured differently in Santharia than it is here. Basically it is about 9am, so another edit for your post, sorry Heir!

Eri: I couldn't get the clock picture to work for C's time and weather thread. Could you take a look at this for me please, when you get back on Monday?

You are right, Nasty, I should have looked closer at the scale of the map before - I edit it back then, for my first draft was, that he rested there over night. The time however schould be ok, Hiero just had a break coming from Marduran, but that's irrelevant now anyway.

I like the potential her post has, giving me many angles from which I can advance the plot, so only a minor edit is needed.:biggrin

Thanx, Emalaya.:biggrin

Nah, the story being one year in the future was my doing. By being one year in the future, players that play the same character in another story will not have their characters in two places at once. I obviously couldn't make it one year previous to the present as that would make this story happen during the characters' histories. By working slightly in the future, we allow our characters to play in multiple stories. By the way, Hier, we're only four months in the future and not an entire year.;)

I need my grandmother Pelagha to get to Holt. At least in the first post or the first few posts I need to puppet her. Can I do this? As soon as I'm there, you might take her over!

Title: Re: Party C: Question concerning NPC
Post by: Tomás Valentín on October 07, 2005, 02:02:22 AM
Exceptions can be made for NPCs that relate to a character in some way, i.e. family members, friend, enemies, etc... All we ask is that the player first ask about puppeting a particular NPC and state the purpose for such puppeting, which you've already done.:biggrin  Hmmm....that's a good statement to add to the read first thread.

Anyway, you can puppet your grandmother to get your character to Holt. Either Nystacea or I will control her once Mimi meets the other subplotters, unless you want to puppet her the entire time? If you want to continue puppeting her until she leaves the story for whatever reason, then just ask.;)

On that note (the post from Eri above): I will be modding you by popping in every so often and describing the scenery, in much the same way as I did in my first post. So don't worry, you will 'see' - through my posts - the bridge, the river, etcetera before you cross them. It will be up to you how close to the river you walk, when or if you cross the bridge and all that. Make sense to everyone?

Post by: Hieronimus Kupfdrubus on October 07, 2005, 08:15:22 PM
Hi Grunok - to not to get it wrong again with the distances, I took a close look at the map. With the „metering rule“ I found at the bottom of the map I figured out, that the Bitter Creek is quite some strals away from where the houses of Holt are placed on the map. From the bridge to the houses would then be at least 50 strals - is that ok? From your entry about Holt I thought the Bitter Creek might be nearer.
So Starmiran-Camp - 100 strals
Camp-Holt - 75 strals?

That would mean, that we need at least two days to reach Holt from the place we are now - right?

And darn you, the time of the year is terrible! Couldn‘t you have chosen a nicer month?

The other parties also have stormy weather right now, though they are also inside at the moment. Sheesh, a former cleric of Grothar is complaining about weather.

K... I think I shall just answer the original entry about distances and leave it at that >D

I have called it (in an earlier OOC post) a day's walk from where you are now, to the town of Holt. I guess this is not exactly accurate - it's a day's ride by fast horse-mounted courier, if they can go in a straight line. So I guess it all depends on how fast you move...

How about we call it a half-day's walk to the bridge, which you cross at about the tenth hour (that's six hours from now, about 4pm earthen time I think) if you start out now. If you keep going after the bridge you can reach the village proper by 5pmish (11th hour) the next day... just in time for dinner!

Everyone is welcome to do their own calculations and let me know what they think. :)

Kaelen! You are everywhere where i am! I'd be an honour to kill you....

Well i think that generally nobody should be reckognising each other from other story's but mayby Nasty will make an exception for this one....

(explanation of the situation to nasty:)

You see my very first time when i started to play i entered the herald. With the mission following a mercenary with one hell of a bounty on him bid by a criminal guild near Cape Strata. Yet he got away almost 3 or 4 days ago from the current time that you (Nasty and others) are now in the herald...  (about 5 threads ago- the ones lost during the hack..., when good old anamirl and that little bugger LoriLo where still there)... Yet Darién is at the current time still delerious and broken from the day that he went into the desert to chase kaelen and eventually returned back at the thirsty herald) But anyways making Kaelen Darién's old target could give it an exciting twist.

So waddaya think Nasty?....

Nystacea, hopefully not too much will happen during my absence, and you won't be forced to mod two threads.
*Whaps Eri*  That would be three threads, Eri.  I trust you haven't forgotten our fabulous subplotters, now, have you?  *Raises eyebrows and gives him a look*. :b

Speaking of whom:
Korin,  I guess now is time to make your appearance, unless you had some other more specific time in mind.  Mimi may choose to now, also.

Party B:  You are still welcome to post even tho Eri is away, I have a slow week this week so I can handle if anything needs doing in a mod capacity (especially if 'limited' means that there will be time for short planning meetings, Eri - tho I am very confident that I know where you are up to and going).

Party A:  Four days ago it had been a week since Xaod had posted in Twilight.  I sent him a 'mail asking him where he is, and for him to either post or let us know where he is.  I recieved no reply.  I guess this means I start puppetting him out of the story.  :(   I am unable to add / remove people right at this moment, so he will be bunnied where necessary until I can remove him.

Title: Refuge?
Post by: Mimi Dorgren on October 17, 2005, 05:00:22 PM
I am already here, Nasty!

*looks up and is angered by the adults who often just overlook little ones*

I wanted to ask something: I like to do a kind of refuge a few hours before Holt, after the bitter creek. Mimi can't go this far and I don't want to sleep in the open! So just a kind of hut, which provides a fireplace and some wood for travellers, nothing more though. There the three men could meet Mimi and Pellagha and the dwarf could join as well - what do you think?

*going to do this refuge, don't want to sleep in the cold rain!*

Heh, sorry Mimi, I did mean to say 'join the three men' now - I promise I did notice you!

The refuge idea sounds great.  So great that I wonder why there is not already an entry on the site about these way-stations.  Maybe one of us should write an entry about this ;)  but either way, it seems fine to use in the story.

You have been atached to his wrist as he says in his first line of the post, So he pulls him towards you and then smashes you with his other hand against the chest. (hm maybe a push?, Or is it a punch? i dont know that too, Kaelen should verify it. And during a RP battle you should all be mentioning if the punches etc. connect or not and how hard he is hitting (well to my opinion that is) This way the other one knows how to respond better. :)

I apologize for my absense, as I explained earlier, my team didn't do so well in the last street fights. I should of been more careful, but I am fine now. Post by: Tomás Valentín on October 23, 2005, 04:43:22 AM
@EVERYONE: It has recently come to my attention that someone is playing two characters within Twilight! Previously, I frowned upon such for several reasons, but my lovely co-mod (well...not so lovely when she plays an orc!:lol ) has convinced me that we can allow more experienced players to play a second character within the story. The player that is currently playing two characters certainly has the experience, and neither I nor Nystacea see any reason to prevent her from continuing to play those characters. The read first thread will be edited to include a section about multiple characters, but I thought it would be prudent to mention here that anyone wishing to play a second character has to ask first!

@members of Party B: This is the official notice that Aurelian will now be puppeted out of Twilight. Due to his busy schedule, Coren does not have the time to RP though he may return in the future.

Also, I will be puppeting Tomas out of the story. I am not leaving Twilight, merely switching chars. As soon as I finish his CD and it is approved, Tasul'i will join the party on their quest. His presence is required for the plot and I would rather not play two chars throughout the entire story.

First of all I love annoying little girls... Korin does not agrea with me on this topic though... he hates them... kinda. He is a big meany who likes no one unless they can drink or kill good, that can not be proper english... But at the same time he has a kind heart, which he hides with his beard. But the normal annoying little girl would anger him, one that had qualities Korin would like would slowly be liked by Korin...

Title: Re: I have a question eh?
Post by: Mimi Dorgren on October 28, 2005, 06:19:22 AM
Well, I assume, it is about....say two hours past the Bitter Creek?

But there is an answer of Ishmaelion still missing on Hieros question, maybe just wait for this one before entering the refuge, don't know. You are not the type of joining the conversation, but maybe you have another idea for a little incident (Ishmaelions horse, aka yours , could be disturbed by something... just an idea - he is not a good rider - and we have a herbwoman nearby :lol )

Title: Re: I have a question eh?

Tythle & Party C:  I don't know if you saw it but I posted a new description - it's the last post on page two.  Here's an excerpt which I hope should answer your question:
Quote:
Only a short half-hour ride remains before they will reach the bridge whereby they can cross the creek, followed by ten more minutes when they will reach the shelter.
So you just have to notice the things mentioned in that post and cross the bridge, and go past the dye sheds and you will be there.

Also:  I have updated your time-thread, it is now midday.

Darien:  That's cool.  Just so you know, the Duke believes he is the only one who even knows of the Sword, let alone wants it and is sending people to get it.

Nasty, I saw your post and asked you in my post above about it. You can't post that there is a shelter in a stinking environement and have us all gather there. Neither Mimi nor Pellagha (who has planned this stay), and I think others as well would ever choose to stay there on their free will, even if it is pooring. So I read out of your post, that the refuge is a bit farer away from this place.

In my very first post, I defined already, where this refuge is: Mimi and Pellaghia are not far from the Bitter Creek, for the plants show already the signs of its bitter water - and from there they need still half a day to the refuge (they are not too fast), so I would assume, two hours after the bitter creek would be the time a normal rider needs.

Thanks Raty.

Darien:  Thanks for your posts but ah...  R'unorian brandy is not Dwarven, it is... well, R'unorian.  From the Isles of R'unor - incidentally, where Zavosh is from.  They actually don't have Dwarves there, only humans, orcs and half-orcs.  And also, would you mind spell-checking your IC posts before you post them please?  I can find it a  bit hard to get the sense of them sometimes.  Thanks in advance. *pats*

Thanks Darien.

I am waiting on a post from Rheine before I post, she said she would post today.

Rheine:
I have just noticed that it has been over two weeks since your last post, so if I don't get a post from you by 10am tomorrow my time (24hrs from when we spoke), I will have to puppet you so that I can post, and keep the story moving.

EDIT(next day): spoke to Rheine this morning, and so this note = effective for tomorrow.

Well, please give him a couple of days still, Mimi is very interested in this dwarf. I can throw in Pellaghia for now to get the situation going.
If it should be really necessary, I could do it as well, for it is easy - he just leaves, for he dislikes the company of the others.

Ermmm... I hope I didn't overstep too much by shooing you guys out of the Duchess's room. It doesn't make sense to dress her in front of all of you so I took the liberty to construct an exit considering that there would be a time lag from the time you see her to the time I get to her.

To Erian: I'm not sure how much you want a servant's narrative because it doesn't contribute to the main plot all that much. Do let me know if I wrote too much. Also, MSN is giving me problems and so I won't be visible online all the time.

@Elen: I loved your post! In fact, I would be irritated if you edited a single word.:lol   I agree that the others should not be present as the Duchess is dressed, and I like how you created their exit. In my opinion, there is no such thing as writing too much unless you repeat yourself or puppet NPCs for which you do not have permission to puppet. You did neither. I'll post as the Duchess as soon as I have a reply from Gararion, as there is plenty for him to react to.

If it is not OK for Kain to give a shocking suprise to those gaurds, then I will think of a less magical and more crafty way for kain to get out of his cell. Oh, Nasty, if this quest takes long enough, will it be ok if Kain is once again sundered by the insanity? If not then he can dissappear before it comes upon him and maybe come back later

Kain: Why would it not be ok?  You might not want to, given that there are a total of around fourteen guards in the room, but your char is free to do whatever he would do :)

'Mael and the rest of C: No word, I'm afraid.  I guess we begin the process of puppetting out.  :(   Or, as Ishmaelion suggested, we could have one of you lot knock him out (on purpose, or accidentally) and then he can be carried along with in the hopes that he revives, perhaps dropped off at Holt...  Let me know here what you think.

All: *points to absences thread*  My somewhat overzealously early post over there is now in action, I'm off to the marae in a few hours, and I won't be back 'till Monday, when I'm back to work again... Oh, the reason Kain is in jail is because he has just gone under the insantiy. right now he is totally himself. Mo'epher needs about a month to regain control. The Divine Aspect will strike when it hinders group A much much more. And I ask because Kain does horrible things when he is under Mo'epher's power. If he stopped at rape it would be butterflys and daisies compared to what he does. So I was wondering how far you guys are going to let me take it. I wouldn't even hope that you will alow full on graphic post of such vile magnatude, but referances to what would happen is more of what i am thinking of. In the most basic sense, I am asking if it is OK if I post horrible things because I want to start planing early.

I used to have a D&D PC that used graphic details...he was killed.  Guess people don't like the graphic details of a carnivore half-orc barbarian.  Well that’s not true, the DM gave me bonus xp for humoring him and grossing out the other party members.  But I have a hunch that the players convinced the DM to put us up against a group of “moobs” that were no “moobs” by any means.  I mean, when a level 1 half-orc scores a critical on a NPC baddie and deals 31 damage, they are NOT suppose to look at you and laugh with an axe sticking out of their gut.  A “moob” is not suppose to have that much HP, especially a “moob” for level 1 PC’s.  Then the other PC’s ran off scared, leaving me standing there with my axe in some guys stomach and being surrounded by the other 2 “moobs”.

@the three elves of party B: Just thought I would mention that your chars have never met the Duchess until this exact moment. Of course, you may have seen her at a distance at the ball, but none of you have actually spoken to her before. The person that met the party in the hallway was in fact the mage which I'm sure some of you have guessed by now. Anyway, this little tidbit is OOC knowledge, though your chars may learn the truth by realizing that the Duchess truly does not recognize them. Stay tuned for the next twist to be concocted by my warped mind!:biggrin

@ gar, oh man, brings back memories of my Jerren Sorcerer who worshiped Scahrossar. He had some good times. Eventually our party was facing off against a horde of drow, and he was left to gaurd the rear. Yea, party ran, he wanted some blood. and though a meteor storm does kill things, so do seventeen arrows and bolts covered in poison... so not fair.

Anyways, how old is the youngest person on santharia? And how do you know me so well Nasty? Making Taka wet his pants would make me giggle. I will keep it to vauge referances. I think that Kain will be overcome by an obsessive lust for a certain female... who hates mages and elves... and her denial will only make his lust grow... by the time a month has passed, and the insanity comes on again... :evil  :guilty  oh it is genius!

hehe i think PARTY A should not be for youthful readers. Anyways Kain, we can keep the gore and sex in the story, Just don't describe the story of the hardcore post in too much detail...

hmmm and don't fall in love on every chick in the room, i have allready claimed them for myself as entertainment for the journey.

Hmm and kain, Do you know Darién? (very well possible cause he is quite famous in especially the helcrah regions and voldar, hm actually everywhere he goes people know of him, not that everyone has seen him tough) Because you say his name in your post. But you could also very well not know me and just call me Darién in your post just to avoid naming all his physical characterism's :p  hehe. Just wondering.

Hm and a bonus for your posts! You've killed some of the boredom i was facing in this chapter.

@Gararion:

I once had a level 97 assassin, the DM decided to sent some guards and beat him up while he was drunk (a weakness lowering him to only level ~14~ and was brought to a ballroom where he would receive a reward for a certain mission and then be sent to some library for a clue together with some other high leveled hero's. Kain (level 65 magician), Ghost (a level 70 killer) Rheine ( a level 100 prostitute), Xaod (a level 60 assassin) and  nasty (a level  1, peasant). He is still alive currently and yet his level has lowered to around 50 because he is nearly drunk once again. heh the good old DM times...:p

Note:
Heh ofcourse the levels are just a joke, i am quite sure that everyone is stronger then everyone in his certain expertise :p

Title: Some stuff on the A team
Post by: Kain Cristar on November 28, 2005, 02:14:22 AM
Kain has been killing criminals for a long time now. He searches them out, learns their weaknesses, and plans his attack. He is devious. So famous killers like Gulath and the ghost he can recognize. It would be silly If somebody who hunted down killers did not recognize Darien, Later, when I have time, I wil add this as one of kain's strengths. He recognizes anybody with a weakness of a criminal record. Like you and ghost.

And thank you for your compliments. I have found that rping Kain is very fun, wait until I start to talk. Poetic to say the least.

Oh and about the girls. I thought I would bring up some serious tension. As I read over everybodies CD's, I saw Rheine's... and a horrible idea crossed my mind. What if Kain's first and only love hated elves and mages. Why it would be perfect for his little unfortunate life, would it not! I could see the fights and tensions build. I especially liked this Idea when I thought about Kain going under the insanity in a months time... And with them being yours... Expect some rivalry betwixt Gulath and Cristar. Lots of Rivallry. (how the hell is that spelled? I hate myself!):devilish  :evil  :guilty

1C:  I notice tere's a lot of OOC stuff going on in the IC thread.  Rather than putting it there, can you please keep it to the OOC thread?

Mimi, your question has already been answered here in the OOC; someone is going to knock Korin out, probably by accident but any way is fine.  That way he will be unconcious and can be carried to Holt to a healer.  Unfortunately, so far no one has decided who is going to do it, so if you wish to decide between yourselves, here is a good place to do it. :)

Kain: If you haven't yet, please check the Current NPCs thread for a description of Guoranala (and, incidentally, the rest of the 1A NPCs.)

Post by: Mimi Dorgren on December 05, 2005, 05:20:22 AM
Thanks Nasty - I saw the proposal to knock him out, but neither Mimi will be able to do it, nor Pellaghia. I see no real way to achieve it, he is a dwarf after all, but maybe the others have a idea. So far I just assumed he is suspicious and says nothing to the newcomers, not much time has passed since they entered.

Maybe we should just ignore him, assuming he is sitting there silently and leave him back tomorrow morning? For how should we manage to carry a heavy dwarf to Holt ?

Takes off clothes and starts Dancing weirdly around Luca,

Welcome Luca,
Welcome Luca the thief,
Welcome Luca,
Luca who is up to some mischief...

*Darién sings*

*Suddenly stops, sits down, grabs his sword and stabs himself in the chest aka samurai style*

I think I have a solution for the situation with Korin. Instead of carrying him to Holt, why not leave him at the waystation instead? He can be puppeted in the background while the others are at the waystation, remaining silent the entire time. When Korin returns (and hopefully he will), he can simply meet up with the party in Holt or wherever they have gotten to. All his returning post would need is a reason for him to remain behind and a reason for him to journey to whichever town the party will be in. So what does everyone think? Is this solution acceptable?

Post by: Kain Cristar on December 06, 2005, 12:22:22 AM
uh i read it a while back, when i was asking to join. I will review it. Is there an inaccuracy that I have put forth, or are you just suggesting that I read up on the npc's before I talk to Solen?

Oh and i dled trillian because mirc did not work... and i cant figure out how to work it. If somebody could help me in that department then I should be able to get onto the irc. If not then I have this laptop for a while now, so i can be on yahoo kinda often. So yea, if we need to discuss how we are going to work kain out then we can do it there.

Sounds great.  And I can tell you how to work trillian - what you do is you get yourself a fantastic fiance who knows all about that sort of stuff, and then make him make it work  :b

I will try to figure out getting yahoo (not a common messenger here in Kiwiland) and hopefully someone will have something slightly more sagacious to say about helping you with trill.

As for the NPCs thing, it was mostly cos I wondered if you knew what Guoranala looks like :)    but of course, you have already read everything, diligent boy *pats happily*

EDIT:  GRAH!!  Yahoo sucks!  I lost my password for my ID, but it keeps saying I don't match the info stored on my account even though I used that EXACT SAME INFO to retrieve my ID.  And then I tried to sign up for a new ID, but it wants my 5-digit zip code.  Which, as I don't live in the U.S., I don't have one of.  What an ungodly waste of time!  Grah!

So, to summarise, we'll have to try to meet on IRC, Kain.  When do you usually go on, and what time-zone are you in?

@Kain: What exactly isn't working with your Trillian? To set up an IRC connection: right click on the trill icon at the bottom right of your screen, scroll up to connections and click on manage my connections. In the screen that pops up, click on the button at the bottom marked add a new connection and choose IRC as the plugin. You can type anything into the first box that says via IRC, as thats just the name of the channel. Personally, I just use santharia. In the second box, click on the button marked with three dots, click to refresh the servers, scroll down to SorceryNet, double click on it and choose random server. The last three boxes are just your user name, so you could just type in Kain for each of them. Once you finish, simply click connect, close the window, left click on the trill icon, right click on the IRC icon in your messenger list (it should be a white ball at the top) and click on join a channel. Type in #santharia and you'll be in the IRC room. For all of this to work, you have to have the IRC plugin enabled in your trill. To enable it, right click on the trill icon and select trill preferences. Next click on plugins and check the box next to IRC. Whoa, that's a lot of instructions. It'll take you less time to do it than it took me to write this post.;)

Mostly because this computer is the bitch of the world and every single virus in the porno industry is dled onto it>:  . I tried norton but norton died vialiantly trying to stop the influence of my younger brother. He needs a gf. Anyways I did not notice the three dots to refresh the server thing so maybe that was it. I will try to long in on my gf's laptop right now. I live in cali right next to derek, which is pacific time zone. What do you mean by kiwi land? for zipcode you can put any five numbers in, it does not matter really. and if you want a real one do 95946 and say you loive in cali.Though i used to think they had a thing that says which counttry you live in and that takes care of it. I have sbcdsl so i dont have to worry about that kind of thing.

Kain, Gar (or was it Mortus?) has set up a webbased IRC and it is so easy to use, if you don't need fancy things like passwords and so on.Though I have two IRC clients working, I use mostly this one:
Try it out:
www.iuturna.sorcery.net/irc.cgi

Just put in your nick where requested and replace the letters in the third space with
#Santharia
(capital S!!!)

I was the one that set up the java clients for Santharia.  The one that Santharia uses righ tnow is based off the one I was running on my own site for a while.  I updated from the older one when I discovered it wasn't working, though the Santharian update took longer due to a needed request from the Admins rather than my suggestion.

So, what is everyone doing for xmas?  This is partly out of story-modly need to know, but mostly just out of friendly curiosity.  As we already know where Kain will be (*grumbles jealously*), I'll go next:

I'm going to be at a farm, strangely enough, with my fiance and his mother's family on the 24th (well, the 23rd for you lot - I am in your fyoootchur! :b ), then on the 25th(/24th) I'll be visiting my dad for a champagne breakfast in the sun (summer here - sunburn ahoy!) which usually continues until lunch, and then at my fiance's dad's, for more champage :biggrin .  On the 26th(/25th) I'll be in Wanganui (small town 5 hours away) watching their boxing day motorbike races.  Yeeeeaah!  So I may get on while I'm at my dad's but I doubt it.  Have a great holiday everyone! :rollin

By the way, Vince has joined the story! He'll be joining C with his first post.:biggrin

I think I ironically have the most traditional Christmas, considering that it remains summer all year round in Singapore and Christmas here is commercialised. Trust me when I say commercialised. The whole downtown area is lighted up and in front of shopping malls there are choirs and tribes the tourism board invited over (including tribes from NZ) to perform. Singing lamp-posts and singing Christmas trees and larger than life nativity scenes. Everyone is out shopping.

I've been out caroling this whole week (hence traditional). I'll be caroling at the hospitals for the aged on the 23rd, at the AIDS centre on the 24th (some of the people there only get visitors once a year so it can get really sad and depressing). Then it is a family dinner on the evening of the 24th and then Midnight Mass in church. Then it is rest day for me (my chance to sleep in) before going back to work.

So there... somewhat traditional.

Yes, merry xmas!  I am well fed and wined, at least well enough to hold me over 'till next week's new year celebrations, anyway :rollin   And I am also a lot browner (well, I will be brown, at the moment I'm just red :b  ) from my boxing day trip down south to the motorbike races.  It was great, nothing like seeing track-racing pros get beaten by a local boy on a street track.  Well, almost seeing.  That being the problem with street tracks - they don't have grandstands or any kind of good viewing situation.  Right, enough sunstruck rambling.

Darien:  I need you to post your reaction to Kain's reentry before I can have the Duke come in to the room.  We need that to happen before we can get out of that room.

All: We are just about ready to close the chapters and get you all on the road.  Or, in the case of C, to throw some plot at you.  Yaay! :clap

....

We are almost done with Chapter 1. The Ghost has said 4 sentences. Nobody knows his name. and he has been in *does a quick count on his fingers* 4 fights....

My character is funny :)

I am the Darkness between the stars.
I am the Silence between whispers.
I am there in your darkest of dreams.
I am The Ghost, and you cannot escape.

Lets see how we've managed to bound in the first chapter:

The Ghost atacks everyone, Even tough fails in killing any of them, only creating enemies. Main Enemy: Xaod (i would think).

Xaod has almost a minor friendship; With Nasty, As she likes him the most,... Further he is neutral like the womans.

Darién will be atacking Kain all journey long from now on... (at least until he has restored his dignity enough).

Kain will probably be doing the same as Darién....

---

Which leaves us with a freakin Killing Frenzy once any of us put hands on their weapons...

Uh Oh.... I guess the best way to bound is to get in a common fight, To see the needs of one another in this mission,

Every char is stubborn and every char has his pride, And a general dislike for one another... Hmmmmmrzzzz, Wonder how the mods will handlle it...

A punishment to some, to some a gift, and to many a favor.

Well to be fair...ONE of the people The Ghost attacked is dead (or soon will be [Zavosh]), and another one was taken off by the guards and released or somehting (Kaelen)

I am the Darkness between the stars.
I am the Silence between whispers.
I am there in your darkest of dreams.
I am The Ghost, and you cannot escape.

@members of Party B: You can assume that each guest room is fairly similar to Luca's with a few differences, i.e. different colored sheets. I didn't actually state the color of Luca's sheets, so she's free to decide what color they are upon her return.

You may either walk to a door and claim a room or wait outside in the hall for Tasul'i. It is up to each of you as to whether or not a particular room is occupied. The occupants would be guests from the ball, basically those that live too far away to journey home in one night. Such revelers are minor NPCs, and each of you has my permission to puppet them, either as they vacate the room or tell you to leave them alone.:lol  All I ask is that you be creative about the scene you walk in upon, just keep it clean.:p  Of course, you could just say that the room is empty. If you choose to wait for Tasul'i, then he will not be pleased.

*hopes the instructions are easy to understand*

If anyone has questions about their next post, then ask and I will answer.

Party C:  The new chapter, along with a new day, will start once you are all asleep.  Just so you know: no plot until you sleep!  :lol

I will puppet Korin if need be, or if someone else wishes to do it that is fine.  I finally heard what happened to Korin, and suffice to say he won't be coming back.  :(

Is this to be the last post for each of us until the new chapter? As in, should we wrap things up quickly enough or leave it a little open ended?

On second thought, kind of hard to leave going to bed open ended, but no harm in asking, right? *cowers* :biggrin

Party A:  I need a post from each of you (Darien, Ghost, Xaod and Rheine) to move in front of the dias and then I can close the chapter.  It would be great if we can get this done in time for the new year!

@Luca and the rest of B: Yup, this will be your last post in this chapter. Basically, the idea is for everyone to go to sleep with the second chapter starting in the morning. So while you could wait in the hall for Tasul'i (or in Luca's case: follow him into the hall) things would go quicker if you just went to bed.

Vince:  Please feel free to make your final post yourself!

Party C:
I have sent a message to Tythle as it's been a while since he last posted.

Party A:  I have made Solen's last post for our party.  I would like to just assume that you all walk off without comment, but I thought I'd give any of you who wish to drag it out two days to post any final comments, actions or questions to Solen you may have, before I lock the chapter.  If you know you will not want to post anything further, post here so that if everyone posts I can close the chapter earlier, and start the new one earlier.  Not that we're like, racing the other chapters or anything....  :noidea   :b   Hooray for plot progression! :pet

Title: Finishing the chapter...
Post by: Erián'melór on January 03, 2006, 01:58:23 PM
@Party B: I'll need at least one post from everyone to close the chapter (maybe two if someone decides to drag it out *glares*). I'd prefer not to just assume that everyone went to bed when it is a fairly simple matter to post that your char has retired for the night. Does everyone really want the As to start the second chapter before we do? I think not!:devilish

@Elen and Luca: As much as I enjoy chars interacting with one another, please try not to drag out your time together (Elendilwyn helping Luca to prepare for bed). I think everyone is eager to close the chapter.;)

Nasty, Tythle was quite reliable since he joined, I'll just puppet him if he doesn't show up soon, it is not a big afair just now, (sending somebody to sleep)
