Title: So Orril Miés'efér (Ready for title!!!l)
Post by: so orril miesefer on December 23, 2005, 08:18:22 AM
Name: So Orril Miés'efér

Gender : Male

Picture:

Age: Appears 31, is really 385

Race: Elf

Tribe: Injerín/Aellenrhim.

Title: Sky Master

Occupation: employee for any job that requires wind magic.

Weight: 1 Pygge and 2 Hafebs.

Height 2 peds

Physical Appearance

I have golden hair and deep yellow eyes, reaching Strata yellow.
My nose is neither big nor small, just the right size, and is a bit angular. My eyes are incrusted deep in my face, so if the light hits me at certain angles the shadow will cover them totally and let you see them literally shine. I’m skinny, making my cheekbones appear larger than they are really, also my cheeks are flushed, as usual in Injerín. My ears, as many are in the elven tribes, are pointed.

I'm tall as usual for my tribe, standing at two peds.

If you tried to guess my age, you would probably guess wrong; in appearance many humans would say that I'm 31 or 32, but I have 385 years under my belt; enough time to see many things. Don’t you think so?

Clothes

I tend to wear a golden shirt, and white trousers. As you may see I don’t bother searching for complimenting colors. I also like to wear items of a greenish hue, but it's not very common to see me with something green since I prefer the white and gold. On rainy or cold days I use a golden cloak, to keep me warm and protect myself from getting wet.

I prefer to wear gold because in Injerín tribe, gold is the symbol of masters, and I consider myself a master because not everyone reach the graduation, though I still have many things to discover and see.

• Personality

I’m a calm person, and it is very hard to make me angry; however, once enraged, it’s hard to stop me. I like kids, and students also, so if you have a problem just knock my door and I will gladly help you. As a mage you may see that I have strong willpower and focus. I hate hypocrisy, and the lack of honor or courage. I love to write, and to participate in some sports.
I rush through things, wishing to finish them quickly and be free to continue with more. If you see me, you would think that I never get tired, but many times I get exhausted without notice. Also, I love to sleep late. Some people think that I’m a bit odd because I stay awake almost all the afternoon and night and sleep almost all morning, so to say it short, I love the night, and this is reflected by my familiars, a wolf and an owl.

• Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths

My wind magic helps in many occasions, as I’m good with it, and especially good with offensive spells.

I have a wolf and an owl that help me to fight and are my companions.

I practiced fighting with staff, as hobby, and though I know how to use it, I’m not overwhelming good with it.

Weaknesses.
My biggest weakness is my lack of stamina; I can’t run for long periods of time, or stand long walks.

Another weakness is my curiosity, which gets me into trouble

Also, I’m not very muscular per say, so I’m not very good at handling big things (like a long sword) or heavy ones (another reason to choose wind magic).

My sight is fading, due to the use of books and dim light in the large hours of study, and as I said, I love to be awake in night. Now I need to use glasses to see, without them my aim is VERY bad, I see all blurred after six peds without them.

I like the danger, my fanciness to new expirences had made me do crazy things, like provoke a Golem, or taunt some of the Fire scholl orcs... *remembers the fireballs and shuders* well, sure I won't do that again, they almost burned my clothes and me with them.

My last weakness is that I don't think so much before making decisions, rushing everything to finish quickly. This has at times caused some of my spells to fail and occasionally to fizzle with near disastrous consequences. I must remind myself at all times to take great caution in my incantations if I want to live another 300 years...

History

Deep in a dark study, illuminated with a dim light from a fire place and some candles, So Orril Miés'efér writes in a book. At a glance, someone can guess he is very busy; the quill goes fast from the left to the right, leaving some letters in greenish ink.

Suddenly someone knocks at the front door. The knocking distracts Orril and makes him cut a bit of the paper with the quill — What the??? Who’s out this late on the streets? — Leaves the things and goes to the front door — Who’s there? — Asks Orril from inside. A feminine voice answers — Now no one can visit you? — Orril is intrigued and opens the door; outside is a female mage — Sorry dear, I didn’t expected someone to come this late, please come in — She doesn’t wait and enters.

Rumors run through Ximax that you think of leaving — she says once seated in a couch in front of the fireplace. She stops briefly before she continues — Tell me Orril, tell me your past. Is something there that you cannot tell? Something so bad to keep it a mystery? — Slowly he answers — I have told you thousands of times, I don’t like anyone knowing who I am. Knowledge is power, and some people here have that power, so now I must leave — Orril finishes writing the book, and he puts it in a bag.

The girl was his best friend, but Orril had a secret hidden, even to her, a secret he wished never happened.

The visitor asks once more — C’mon, I don’t have secrets from you, tell me that before you leave, I wish to know the truth — Orril falls in the other couch, thinks a moment, and starts:

I’m the grandson of a member of the elders’ council from the Injerín tribe, though I’m not of pure blood.

My father was an Injerín; he was a great wind mage. While a boy, all I dreamt about was becoming someday as good as him.

My mother, on the other hand, was an Aellenrhim wind mage; she always made me ponder how she knew what I was doing, and I think I will never know. — Orril stopped a bit and continued — My parents met while they were in Ximax. At first they struggled to be better than the other. They had all kinds of crazy competitions, like making a mirage in the middle of a stairway and seeing how many people failed to recognize that all was an illusion, like chasing with wind walk… they made all, from grades to foolish games. But slowly they saw that their struggle was to astonish the other, and they found the real feeling that makes everyone confused. They fell in love, and some time before their graduation my father asked my mother to be his wife. — The visitor suspired, Orril waited a moment before he began to speak again

Twelve years later I was born in the Shaded Forest town named O'kroi'parda'ael, “The Everlasting War in West”. We lived six years there, but eventually we moved to another town, where my parents and grandparents thought that I would grow better. Avá’ewelín, “The Beauty of Life,” was the next town I stayed in. This town is famous for a botanical garden in the center; the people there throw the seeds and leave Avá to do her work, making it beautiful.

While I stayed there, my fascination toward wind and wind magic grew, and every day that I saw my parents using it for cleaning or transport, I wished to be able to do it. Every blink that I saw the deep blue sky, I desired to soar in it.
I grew up, hearing my parents speaking about Ximax, about how wonderful it was, and this fuelled my interest to go there

On my twenty-first birthday, my grandpa asked me about going to Ximax.
My heart raced. I reached the sky in that moment, and while this happened a word made me go even farther: I answered yes.

My grandfather made all the arrangements, and a week later I was taking a river ship that would lead me to the sea. I was going all the way down Luquador River, until the Sea of Tears.

The first and second day on the ship passed very fast. We (the crew and I) did land at a little village near the Worldquest River. I remember that these two days where almost fatal to me, because the excitement gave me insomnia, and I hardly slept an hour or two in the two days.

The third day I fell asleep without remedy. I didn’t leave my cabin in two days; some people thought that something had happened to me, but no one interrupted my dream. On the fifth day we did land, I awoke on time to take the ocean ship, I can’t remember its name, but was the biggest ship I ever saw.
But big don’t mean good; all the way I felt sick. The next time I must go on an ocean ship, I will think twice about it.
All the time I was on the ocean, I didn’t leave my cabin except to eat, and it was extremely rare that I ate something on that ship.

Six days passed on that ship; we did land in Thysland the night of the sixth day.
I stayed in Thysland for some weeks, recovering from my sea sickness. Once I felt better I continued my way, to south. I walked about twelve days before I reached Hort. I took two days to rest there. After that time I entered the Shivering Woods and walked all they way to Ximax. On the way I felt a deep link with nature, something hard to explain, but from that day until now I try to go to woods every time I can.

Finally I reached Ximax. First I went to the Valgure’s Emporium to buy all the stuffs for school, and after I went to the Academy.

Once installed, I sent letters every day to my parents, until they died, and my family sent me letters too, and sometimes money to cover my needs. But when my parents died, I needed a job, so I started to work in Valgure’s Emporium.

My spare time was reduced, but many friends came to me. One of them was a hunter.

He invited me to go with him and his party to hunt; they did so, including a pack of wolves. At the end I found a wolf pup, lone and famished. I thought that my party killed his pack, so I hid it and took to my room, where I cared for him. Shadow grew thinking that I was the Alpha of his lost pack, so he doesn’t attack me, you know. But the impression of the hunters was well kept in his mind, and he won’t let others come close to him.

Also you know about Storm, she was your birthday present that never leaves my shoulder, I’m very glad to have an owl like her.

You know that I practiced for some time to fight with the staff, but with my parent’s death I had to stop.

About glasses, I bought them for three Silverbards to an elder earth mage, he asured me they would help me to see for the next three thousands years, but I doubut that. Still I have them.

You know all that happened later — Orril ended, a long silence happened, before the visitor asked — And what about the incident? Tell me, you didn’t have something to do with it? — Orril said — Well, I don’t have anything more to lose; swear me that you will never tell someone what I’m going to tell you — The young girl promised and Orril continued — That night I was sleeping, when someone came into my room and started taking my things. He was leaving when I followed him, covered with the Vanish spell, but accidents happen, and I fell to the ground. The burglar noticed that and tried to cut me in pieces; he lifted his knife and all that I could do was defend myself, I clapped my hands, and the lighting killed him.

I returned to my bedroom, but… someone saw me, the Archmage himself, in less than a day, I was sitting in front of him, telling all this — Orril ended, the visitor covered her mouth with horror, but said nothing more. — See why I wasn’t willing to tell my past? This was a secret between the Archmage and me, but someone else knows that now aside from you, so all I can do is get out of here before the thieves guild fin me, or find the one who have my secret, you know, after all, I need to go out, I started here when I was 21 and now I’m 385 years old, the world is big, and I wish to see it before my days end. — Orril stopped talking; the other mage used this silence to ask — What about our graduation? You will stay until tomorrow? — Orril nodded, and said to finish — I will stay, but once finished with our graduation I will leave. Now would you like a cup of tea? — The night passed over, and at the next morning Orril attended to the big party of graduation, fireworks, music, and even spell competitions were made between the elemental schools, celebrating the graduation of few new mages. After 364 years Orril was finally graduating, the joy was suddenly suppressed by a strong and deep sadness, that night he would run away, followed only by Storm and Shadow.

Magic
I studied at Ximax, in the Tower of Skies, becoming very good with spells like clap of thunder and static trap, preferring the attack over defense. In my scholarly years I became famous among my class for the most accurate clap of thunder and the longest walk in the air done by a novice. (I consider novice from the level one to level three, because in that period of time, I was very unskilled. and fizzled my spells frequently)

What made me choose the wind? There are several reasons. I hate the fire, it is uncontrollable and unpredictable, also unstable, but hides all this in its beautiful appearance I can't stand the destruction hidden in it, that is hypocrisy.

Earth and water are not my elements; I never dared to step close to the Tower of Earth, fearing that the earth would swallow me. Not to say the Tower of the Sea was any less fearsome, I never came close, fearing... fearing its unbearable icy punishment.

Wind is another story, since I have memory I dreamed to soar in the sky, later, I was fascinated with the sky, I dared to step the Tower of Skies because I was very sure I could be a wind mage, and only that made me try.

Why I prefer attack over defense? easy, if you attack, there's more chances to get alive than defending, that's why I focused on attack, like the old saying "attack is the best defense".

I graduated one year ago, at level six, now I'm thinking seriously to travel the world, I want to see as many things I can before my time ends.

Belongings
A spell book, a bag for reagents, another for travel, a pouch of money, cloths, a staff, a pair of glasses, and change of clothes.

Familiars
.
A horned owl that I got as birthday present named “Storm” and a lone wolf named "Shadow"

Storm: She is a bit aggressive with strangers, but with kids it’s all the opposite. She likes to get caressed on the head and under the beak. I think that she fancies me; she hears me and does almost all that I ask her to do, I say almost, because sometimes she won’t obey. I never tried to put her in a cage, so you may see her over my shoulder.

I got Storm on my birthday one year before I graduated, so it’s young to say, I think no more than a year since she left the nest.

•Shadow: He is a wolf that I found in a trip with hunters. He was just a pup when I found him and I couldn't resist taking him with me, since his pack was killed by my party, or that is what I think.

Shadow grew thinking that I was the Alpha of his lost pack, so he respects me; he eats my leftovers, so it's not a problem to feed him. He is good at catching things, and making my room a mess too. He is playful, and a good familiar. I think that Avá sent him to me as a response for the killing of his pack.

Around some people, he gets nervous. He doesn’t attack the others, but doesn’t let them touch him. With kids he is playful as with me. Why? A good question. I think that’s because he associates the older people to the hunters, and the kids to something that’s inoffensive.

1. An Injerin elf cannot be a ped and two fores tall. Since the average elf of that tribe is two peds tall, it is possible for one to be slightly taller or slightly shorter but a fore is too much of a difference.

2. His skill with wind magic should be listed as a strength, as should his skill with his daggers.

3. As a magical char, you'll need a magic section. Nothing fancy, just tell us where he trained, how long he trained, and what his abilities are.

4. Twelve years is too young of an age for an elf to attend Ximax. Using the EAC, I've determined that your elf would have to be at least twenty one years old.

Roads go ever ever on,
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where never sun has shone,
By streams that never find the sea.

Lol, the irony. EzBoards logged me out when I tried to post this :)

Anyway, are you still logged in? There should be an edit button under your name.

If you don't see one, check out the FAQ, that might help (there's a link to it in my sig and I think on the main page of this board).

Well, I make some minor modifications after see many other chars, I think its nothing to pay much atention, and if I have more time (thing I don't wish) I will make far longer the story, right now I'm going to use maps :D  to locate the place of origin, and Ximax to be a bit more exact with the story.

'Piggy'?  This isn't Lord of the Flies, people... :p

The unit of weight is a 'pygge' - pronounced 'pig'.
The plural is 'pygges', pronounced 'pigz'.

Master Mies'efer', don't take this personally; it's just that I've seen this error crop up more than once here, and would like to draw the moderators' attention to it...

Name
So Orril Miés'efér.

Picture

•Gender
Male.

•Age
Appearance 31, really 385.

•Race
Elf.

•Tribe
Injerín and Aellenrhim.

•Title
Mage of the silver wind.

• Physical Appearance
With almost 31 years in appearance and 385 in elf age I’m tall, with two peds and a palmspan.
What has the first to do with the second?

I have gold hair and deep yellow eyes, reaching the Strata yellow, I don’t like to use full beard, having care to shave myself when it starts to appear. My nose is neither big nor small, just the right size, and is a bit angular. My eyes are incrusted deep in my face, so if the light hits me in certain angles the shadow will cover totally my eyes and let you see them literally shine. I’m skinny, making its cheekbones to appear bigger than what they are really. My ears, as many in the elf, are pointed. My skin is a bit tanned, for the long exposition to sun (well, let’s see if you don’t tan after almost 300 years doing fieldwork).

• Clothes
I tend to wear a light green shirt, and trousers of a vivid green, as you may see I don’t bother searching for combinating colors; also I like to wear white things, specially a tunic that was a gift of his grandfather.

• Personality
I’m a calmed person, that is very hard to make angry, however once enraged is also hard to stop me. I like the kids, and the students too, so if you have a problem just knock my door and I will gladly help you. As a mage you may see that I have a strong willpower and focus. I hate the hypocrisy, and the fault of honor or courage. I love to write, but also do some sports, thing I did almost all my life, running from one place to other and rushing over new discoveries. Ho that’s right, I rushes over things, wishing to end quickly and be free to continue with more and more, and more, if you see me, you will think that I never gets tired, but many times I get exhausted without notice. Other thing, I love is to sleep until late, some people think that I’m a bit rare, cause I stay awake almost all the afternoon and night and sleeps almost all the morning, so for say it fast he loves the night, and this is reflected on my familiars, a wolf and a owl.

• Strengths and Weaknesses
a) Strengths
My biggest strength is my willpower, once I proposes something I will do it at the price it cost. Another strength is my focus, once focused in something I won’t leave it. And my last strength is my speed, if I’m afraid or intimidated I will run away faster than a wink. My wind magic helps in many occasions, as I’m good with it, but especially good with offensive spells. The daggers are my weapon, I’m not so good with them, but neither bad to say, just know how to use them.
b) Weaknesses
My biggest weakness is my honor sense, it gets me in many problems, and only because I tries to defend what I believes is right. Other of my weakness is my lack of physical resistance; I can run fast, but for short periods of time, after I will need rest invariably. Other weakness is my curiosity, which gets me in troubles as often as my honor. Another weakness is that if I get angry, I will be hard to calm down again. Also I’m not very muscular to say, so I’m not very good handling big things (such a long sword) nor heavy ones (another reason to chose wind magic).

• History
I was born in O'kroi'parda'ael ("The Everlasting War in the West") son of one Injerín and one Aellenrhim, and grandson of one member of the council. We moved when I was 6 years old to Avá’ewelín (“beauty of life”) were my grandpa suggested to my family to live,

Why do you have a mother from the Bolderforest ? They rarely leave their forest and thus it couldn‘t happen accidentiaclly that they met.
you should mentin, that htese places are in the Shaded Forest

after some years there I started to interest in magic, but since I didn’t liked the destructive power of fire, and don’t have affinity with it, I chose the wind. That happened one day when I was almost 21 years old, when I was seeing the garden in the center of the city tell your reader, that this is a botanical garden famous over the borders of the city whispered to my ear “come with us” so when my grandparent asked him about going to Ximax I replayed happily “yes I’m going”. I packed all my things and went with my Grandpa, who send me to Ximax.

my journey begun in river, going all the way down Laquados River, Luquador!!! until the Worldquest, resting in one village, at the next day take the Quest river until the Mountains of Oro, from there, were twenty four days camping at the shadows of the mountains, where the caravan was attacked by thefts.
I doubt that anyone sane in his mind goes out of free will to the mountains of Oro. You need to read the entries, not just look at the map. The Tandalas can not be crossed by normal people - you have to take a ship. The most popular way to get to Santharia is from the Kuglimz territory

Slowly we reached the Nyermersys lands, and stopped to rest in Astran, where I bought a pair of daggers, only in case there were more thefts. Two days after we reached Weyring, and go all until reaching Voldar, where I take a boat again and went up river until Cemphiria. The next day after reaching Cemphiria continued my journey, reaching Salsair in less than two days, and going to Hort, where we prepared for bordering the Shivering Woods. At this point I heard again the spirits, saying I was close to his destiny. Few minutes passed after hearing the spirits when we got out of the Woods. Few days later I saw the grate city of Ximax.

In short time we reached the Magic Academy of Ximax, where I put all my efforts to become a great mage, and following the whisper went to the wind magic school. How long did you study? Be a bit more precise! Once in Ximax I bought a spell book, as many of the others usually do, and a new bag for reagents.
In my years of study I got two familiars, a horned owl named "Strom" and a lone wolf named "Shadow" this two were a "birthdate present" since Storm was it and Shadow was found that same day going around the academy lone and lost.
I studied from my 21 to my 385 years, becoming a good mage. Comments But notices of his grandpa falling ill got me out of the school. Now I’m in my journey to return to see my grandpa.

• Magic
I studied in Ximax, in the wind school, becoming very good with spells like clap of thunder and static trap, preferring the attack over defense. In my scholar years I become famous among my class for the most accurate clap of thunder and the longest walk in the air done by a newbie.

Here you need a magic expert, it could be a bit more elaborated, you stidied there for quite some time - in 350 years you must have to tell something!

• Weapons
Two daggers

• Belongings
A spell book, a bag for reagents, another for travel and two daggers.

• Familiars
A horned owl that got as birthdate present named “Storm” and a lone-errand wolf named "Shadow"

• Height
Two peds and one palmspan.

• Weight
a Pygge and a Hafeb

Orril, you need to go through your CD and search for grammar errors and wrong spelling! I know you did probably a spellcheck, so you have to try to find them by yourself. Wait before posting a day and read through it again. Look into the dic when you are not sure. You should be able to find things like ‚grate‘ instead of ‚great‘ . I still have many mistakes in my submissions as well which other people have to point out to me (especially if I post too quickly) , but your CD is really hard to read. Write shorter sentences, that helps as well. Your English will only improve IF you try to correct it.

Well, Someone that have an idea of what could happen in 350 years in a magic school? really, I don't have any ideas of what I should put in that part (magic) so let me know, I have to put something like spells I know? or I have to put the masters that taught me? let me know, because it wasn't my idea, and as far I have seen, no indications of it in any place.
Thanks people ;)

Hiya So Orril Miés'efér! Welcome to Santharia. A listing of your spells is not necessary but an overview would be useful. The link to my CD is in my signature, it has a basic Magic Section for you to look at. Mind you it is a bit outdated but it may be useful in a write up of your own.

As for 350 years of training in the arcane I would have to say. There is alot to be written about, but it is specific to how you see your character. So would be defined by your own imagination and creativity.

but theres still one question, I have reached the level 6? or I'm still in level 5? since I'm older than the level 6, but not in appearance, and in skills and training I'm older too with 42 years. thanks

• Personality
I’m a calm person,...

...

• History
...
I was born in O'kroi'parda'ael ("The Everlasting War in the West") We moved when I was 6 years old to Avá’ewelín (“beauty of life”) were my grandpa suggested to my family to stay, All these places are cities or towns in the Shaded forest.
After some years there I started to interest in magic, but since I didn’t liked the destructive power of fire, and don’t have affinity with it, I chose the wind. That happened one day when I was almost 21 years old, when I was seeing the famous botanical garden in the center of the city when I heard a whisper in my ear “come with us”, I looked around but saw no people, few minutes passed when again a heard the wispers, it sayd now "come to Ximax, we are waiting for you" again I looked around, and then I saw a woman, she was prety, and walked with such light and grace that I couldn't do more than see she, she got close to me and wispered "the wind is waiting for you, in Ximax, you're going to se me there" and as she apeared she slowly faded in the air. How does this happen? Who's the woman? Why does she talk to him? It makes little sense to me. that afternoon my grandpa asked me about going to Ximax I replayed happily “yes I’m going”. I packed all my things and went with my grandpa, who send me to Ximax.

My journey begun in river, going all the way down Luquador River, until the Worldquest, resting in one village, at the next day we started going down to the Sea of tears, stoping many times in the way.
After three days we reached the Sea of tears, we changed from the river ship to an ocean ship, and started my ocean journey.
five days in the sea passed, the third we where attacked by pirates, and a miracle happened, a mysterious thunderstorm hited? the pirate ship, but still some pirates reached our ship and tried to control it. They where defeated, but that expirence make me more unconfident from the people.
At the fifth day we did land on Thysland, where I bought a pair of daggers, and stayed three months to lear how to use them.
Time passed in Thysland, but I heard and saw the woman again, so we continued our way, now to the south, ten days in roads passed befor Hort, we rested two days.
After the two days, we entered in the Shivering Woods, where I heard the wispers again. Few time passed before we reached Ximax, from there I went first to the Valgure's Magical Emporium to bought all the thinks I could need, and after that I went to the Academy.
When I started I had some problems, like vanishing some parts only, reflecting what I was thinking... thinks like that. Explain this a little better. Not everyone will know you're talking about spells.

...

• Magic
I studied in Ximax, in the wind school, becoming very good with spells like clap of thunder and static trap, preferring the attack over defense. In my scholar years I become famous among my class for the most accurate clap of thunder and the longest walk in the air done by a newbie.
Define newbie.
What made me choose the wind? There's a chain of reasons, I hate the fire, uncontrolable and unpredictable, unstable but beautiful, I can't stand the destruction hiden in it. The Earth and water are not my elements, and the wind... well, the wind is other story, since I have memory I dreamed to soar the sky, later, I started to hear and see a woman, that told me to go to wind school.
I got graduated one year ago, now I'm thinking seriusly on continue with my studies by miself or seek a mentor, maybe I will go in a journey for the hidden knowledge, let's say that I'm going where the wind gides me.

I picked out a few errors, but there are probably more. I just added a free spellchecker to my sig. You could use that one if you don't have Word or equivalent.

As for your question: it's up to you to pick your level. Six is the maximum, but you can be five if you wish. All you need to do is include the needed years to reach the level.

I assume that I'm ready for a title :D , but if you see something wrong again, just point me where I'm going to use the erase button and the lots of letters :rollin

Hi Orril

OK first off. Grammar. Make sure your grammar is quite a bit better than it is. I know English is not your first language, and it is harder for you, but you will be posting in english, so you should get the grammar down now, in the CD.

Your tribes: The format of your CD makes it difficult, but The Aellenrhim generally do not allow people in their forests, and thus, i find it extremely unlikely that they would amte with an Injerin, unless you explain it a little more fully.

Quote:
My biggest strength is my willpower, once I propose something I will do it at the price it cost.
My biggest weakness is my honor sense, it gets me in many problems, and only because I try to defend what I believes is right.

It would seem to me that you are quite overpowered, for most of your weaknesses can be stated as strengths as well I.e. the curiousity gets you in trouble, but it helps to learn, and you can run fast (a strength) but only for a short time. also, inability to use swords is not a weakness. Coupled with the strenght of magic and basic weapon knowledge, i think the character could use some toning down.

Explain the familiars more. How did you come to be in possession of them, what are their personalities, what is your relationship with them

In your magic, you state that you reach sphere three. Graduates of level six have not been taught sphere 3, so you will have to change it (sphere three is restricted for Characters)

Keep up the good work buddy :thumbup

Ups... I thinked that the sphere three was from level six to level 12... Ok, I'm going to corect it :D

Can anyone help me with weakness?, I'm not so good to think about them.
Let me think about family, maybe a buissnes got my father there, or maybe my mother went out of the forest in a journey, or maybe...:idea  Yay, maybe they meet in Ximax.
Yes I think they are going to be mages too.

And about familiars... I will make theyr personalities and realation.
Thanks Pikel

It's not impossible to have learned sphere III at level six, but it's highly unlikely you'll be able to do anything useful with it (and it wouldn't allowed in a CD anyway).

Sphere three spells are learned by 7th level and above casters. Basically requiring the caster to have done some magical developement on the site. Giving them an above normal understanding of the magic system on Santharia.

Asking questions like this to Silfer Darkflare, our mentor, would clarify these things fairly easy for you. I have a fair grasp of Santharian magic and am learning more all the time. If you can not find Silfer to help you just send me an ezmail. I would be more than happy to answer questions from my fellow apprentice, if  I can. Hope this has helped you out a bit So Orril Miesefer.

Orril, that won't work:

Quote:
My father said that the woman was probably a spirit of the wind,

I know of no  notion of the "spirit of the wind".

Go through your history a bit more carefully and look at the anthrian map where you can find a scale, with its help you can estimate the distances. Avoid what you don't need (the pirates)

And I agree very much with Pikel, your weaknesses are nothing against your strengths. You don't need to run fast as the wind, then you won't get exhausted  - apart from that only somebody who runs as quick as you do will catch you - so it doesn't count, if you are ko after your run..
And so on.

Well, I need a better idea for the woman, or a better reason to go to Ximax... Yes, maybe i should cut that, after all its one desision to go.

Ok, with distances, I need to find the map... some days ago I found it but now I don't remember where it was, let me search again, maybe I'm not looking in the correct place.

And Weakness... I need help with them, dunno what can I place there.

With magic, thanks, it explained me how to go to level 7, but what about the latter levels? please send the answer to the Ezbox so don't make it a bluk here.

I don't see any reason to be higher than level 6 really. That's probably because I don't see any way to make a balanced char over level 6 either. Sometimes one level 7 spell is allowed or so, but in my oppinion acces to sphere III makes you way overpowered. It's more than just acces to some extra spells, but you can use it for boosting your lower level spells (a lot) as well.

Currently my own mage is in between level 5 and 6 and I'm not planning to change that (unless maybe he can be archmage or so, just for the nifty title :biggrin   so inbetween 5 & 6 it is :p  ). I can already kill someone within seconds. Sphere III would pretty much allow me to level buildings without too much trouble.

Anyway, my suggestion is to stay at 6 or below for now. Once you've got some more experience with magic under your belt you can always try to go for a rewrite.

For maps: click the shield with a 'C' on the main site. The most useful map for distances is probably this one.

Edit:

I studied in Ximax, in the wind school, becoming very good with spells like clap of thunder and static trap, preferring the attack over defense. In my scholar years I become famous among my class for the most accurate clap of thunder and the longest walk in the air done by a novice. Define novice. I think you missed my point when I said 'define newbie'. What level are you talking about? And when are you no longer a novice?
What made me choose the wind? There’s a chain of reasons, I hate the fire, uncontrollable and unpredictable, unstable but beautiful, I can't stand the destruction hidden in it. I got graduated one year ago, Maybe best to add what level you graduated from. You can graduate from each level (although level 6 is considered to special, like 'graduated from Ximax'). now I'm thinking seriously on continue with my studies by myself or seek a mentor, maybe I will go in a journey for the hidden knowledge, let's say that I'm going where the wind guides me.
My spells reached the sphere two, so I’m categorized as a level 6 mage, but not all spells go that good, sometimes I fail more with certain spells than others, so rounded I’m level 6.
Normally you start learning sphere II spells around the fourth level, so this doesn't make much sense.
Level 1-3: only sphere I spells
Level 4-6: sphere I & II spells
Level 7 and higher: sphere I, II & III spells. You're probably the equivalent of our RL professors (or on your way to be one) by now.

Level 7 mages are only allowed for masters of magic, that would be Silfer, and Marvin is well on the way. It requires to be in magic for quite a while and a considerable amount of time, and having done developement work.

Orril, I'll go through your CD as soon as Marvin has given his first + and I know that magicwise all is ok.

Just the magic section:

I studied in Ximax, at the wind school, becoming very good with spells like clap of thunder and static trap, preferring the attack over defense. In my scholar years I became famous among my class for the most accurate clap of thunder and the longest walk in the air done by a novice. (I consider novice from the level one to level three, because in that period of time, I was very inexpert, and had fizzles frequently.)
What made me choose the wind? There are several reasons, I hate the fire, uncontrollable and unpredictable, unstable but beautiful, I can't stand the destruction hidden in it. Cut this up in several sentences instead of one long one. Also, 'uncontrollable and unpredictable, unstable but beautiful' sounds like it's something positive because you give some bad characteristics and then say 'but beautiful' like you would want to counter the bad things. For example: most people find him annoying, but I like him anyway. Like that.
() Earth and water are not my elements, and () wind... well, () wind is other story, since I have memory I dreamed to soar the sky, later, I got fascinated with the sky.
I got graduated one year ago, at level six, now I'm thinking seriously on continue with my studies by myself or seek a mentor, maybe I will go in a journey for the hidden knowledge, let's say that I'm going where the wind guides me. The most logical thing to do to gain more knowledge would be that you would continue to study in Ximax.

Sure, the better way to gain knowledge is a school, but a mage that wants to know more by its own way can fit better in roleplay. (I think)

Watch for my red pen

•Name
So Orril Miés'efér

•Gender
Male
•Age
Appears 31, really 385, skills 42 nix the skills part
•Race
Elf
•Tribe
Injerín.
•Title
Mage of the silver wind

Physical Appearance
I have golden hair and deep yellow eyes, reaching the nix the the Strata yellow. My nose is neither big nor small, just the right size, and is a bit angular. My eyes are incrusted deep in my face, so if the light hits me in certain angles the shadow will cover totally my eyes "them" would fit better and let you see them literally shine. I’m skinny, making my cheekbones to appear bigger than what they are really. My ears, as many in the elf, are pointed. My skin is a bit tanned, for the long expositionsp to sun (well, let’s see if you don’t tan after almost 300 years doing fieldwork).

if you are ending the paragraph here, space it out!

I'm a bit taller than my tribe, with two peds and a palmspan. that is extremely tall! Seven Feet!
If you tried to guess my age, you probably guess wrong, in appearance many people say that I'm 31 or 32, but I have 385 years you would have to add something like "under my belt," to make this fit, enough time to see many thinks things. Don’t you think so?

Clothes
I tend to wear a light green shirt, and trousers of a vivid green, as you may see I don’t bother searching for combining complimenting? colors; also I like to wear white things, but it's not so as common.

• Personality
I’m a calm person, is very hard to make me angry, however, once enraged is also hard to stop me. I like the nix the the kids, and the again, nix the thestudents too also, so if you have a problem just knock my door and I will gladly help you. As a mage you may see that I have a strong willpower and focus. I hate the hypocrisy, and the fault of honor or courage. He hates courage and honor? I love to write, but also do some sports, thing I did almost all my life, running from one place to other and rushing over new discoveries. THIS sentence is very bad. Ho, that’s right, I rushes rush over things, wishing to end finish them, not end quickly and be free to continue with more, and more, and more, make this a period If you see me, you will think that I never get tired, but many times I get exhausted without notice. Other another thing, I love is nix the is to sleep until late, some people think that I’m a bit rare odd? Lazy? rare makes no sence, because I stay awake almost all the afternoon and night and sleeps nix the s almost all the nix the the morning, so for say it fast I loves the night, awkward and this is reflected on my familiars, a wolf and an owl.

• Strengths and Weaknesses
a? Strengths
My biggest strength is my willpower, once I propose something I will do it at the price it cost. Another strength is my focus, once focused in something I won’t leave it. And my last strength is my speed, if I’m afraid or intimidated I will run away faster than a wink. My wind magic helps in many occasions, as I’m good with it, but and not but, but is if you are saying you are less well trained in that area especially good with offensive spells. wind is usually a defencive and healing element, also violence does not fit with your personality. Why does he like offencive spells? The daggers are my weapon, I’m not so good with them, but neither bad to say, just know how to use them. you need to work on your grammar if you want me to read over this again. Also, these are all very powerful strengths, Include your level in your strengths section
b) Weaknesses
My biggest weakness is my honor sense, it gets me into many problems dangerous situations, and only because I try to defend what I believes no s is right. Some of my Other of my nixweakness is are my lack of physical resistance stamina?; I can run fast, but only for short periods of time, after I will need rest invariably. anOther weakness is my curiosity, which gets me into troubles no s as often as my honor. Another weakness is that if I get angry, I will be hard to calm down again. Also I’m not very muscular to say, so I’m not very good handling big things (such a long sword) nor heavy ones (another reason to chose wind magic). Also, many people thinks that I'm too confident, so I can get in problems for nix the for easyly. Others says that I'm exedinglysp patient, that I must show my strenghtstrength, when I was studing I was a target for bullingsbullys or bullyings?, but I never put an nix the n stop (Well, actually once, but I think it wasn't enought). My last weakness is that I don't think it twice for making desitions, rushing everything to end quickly.

It is easier to see what you classify as an individual strength if you bullet your strengths and weaknesses. All of you're weaknesses are very low key and I really doubt that you will rp them You need some serious balancing! Read the strengths and weaknesses of some of the other mage characters that have been approved. You can find a few in the approved characters arcive II

• History
My grandpa is a member of the council what council?, my father is an Injerín mage and my mother is an Aellenrhim mage too.

space your paragraphs

My parents met while they were students in Ximax, they say that first they tried to be better than the other, but eventually they feel felt the pull of love. After they ended the school, they send sent letters to their parents, saying that they were to get be married; my grandparents quickly went to Ximax, to meet each other. The two families hadn’t had no problems, and the marriage went excellent.
Two years latter later I was born in O'kroi'parda'ael ("The Everlasting War in the West") We moved when I was 6 years old to Avá’ewelín (“beauty of life”) were my grandpa, father of my father, suggested to my family to stay, All these places are cities or towns in the Shaded forest.

spaces

After some years there I started to become interested in magic, but since I didn’t like the destructive power of fire, and don’t have affinity with it, I chose the wind. That happened slowly, my father and my mother were wind mages, so my fascination started when I was very young, like nix the like 12 years or less. Day by day my interest and fascination grew, wishing I could do what my parents could, like walk in the air or vanish and appear.

spaces

Three weeks before my 21th birthdate birthday my family asked me about going to Ximax… Obvious I saysaid yes, it was my opportunity and I wasn’t going to loose lose it.

My journey begun began inon  a river, going all the way down Luquador River, until the Worldquest, resting in one village, we did two days down river to the village. what did you do two days? From nix the from, use On instead the third day we started going down to the Sea of tears, stopping two times in the way.

spaces

After five days we reached the Sea of tears, we changed from the river ship to an ocean ship, and started my ocean journey.
Six days in the nix the "in the" replace with at sea passed, at the sixth day we did nix the did landed on Thysland, where I bought a pair of daggers, and stayed three months to learn how to use them, why? nix the why I thought that I must have a way to defend myself.

spaces

Time passed in Thysland, but I remember what I was doing, so we who is we? I assume your parents... they stayed with you for three months while you practiced dagger fighting technique? continued our way, now to the south, two days in on roads passed before Hort, we rested two days.

spaces

After the two days, we entered in the Shivering Woods, few time passed before we reached Ximax, from there I went first to the Valgure's Magical Emporium to buy all the thinks things I could would need, and after that I went to the Academy.

where do you get all this money?

When I started I had some problems, like vanishing some parts only, reflecting what I was thinking... things like that, things that occurs to every novice with the spells.
But slowly I got better, making some big records, like hitting a feather in the air with lighting, or walking for almost all the practice yard in the air. doubtful

spaces

In my years of study I got two familiars, a horned owl named "Strom" and a lone wolf named "Shadow" this two were a "birthdate birthday present" since Storm was it? and Shadow was found that same day going around the academy lone and lost. why does a wolf stay with you and make you a companion. You have no training nor abilities with animals and wolves are carnivores. It is more likely for him to eat you than become your familiar! I see no reason here at all that would explain his actions. Also I would like to see more about these familiars and they must be added to your strengths, which are already beyond considerable!

space

I studied from my 21th to my 385th years nix the s, becoming a good mage. I got graduated at level 6, one graduates at level seven dear I’m very proud of it. When I graduated, I was anxious to learn more, I sendsent a letter to my family, that I was going to go for more knowledge. of magic? That is foolish! There are few learned mages in the wide world. Instead maybe you felt cramped in the towers, and wanted to see some of the world before your time was over. I find it doubtful that your parents are still alive, they would be very old So now I’m in that what?, going from one place to other, searching for the lost knowledge what specific lost knowlege. When you use the you are talking about something specific!, for the new that waits to be discovered.

• Magic
I studied in Ximax, at the wind school, becoming very good with spells like clap of thunder and static trap, preferring the attack over defense. I already explained my feelings. How can you not like the destructive power of fire, but be attracted to the destructive power of wind. That makes no sence at all! In my scholar years I became famous among my class for the most accurate clap of thunder and the longest walk in the air done by a novice. (I consider novice from the level one to level three, because in that period of time, I was very inexpert not a word!, and had fizzles frequently. and fizzled my spells frequently)

What made me choose the wind? There are several reasons, I hate the fire, it is uncontrollable and unpredictable so is wind!, also unstable as is wind!, I can't stand the destruction hidden in ityet you lust for offencive spells?.
Earth and water are not my elements, and wind... well, wind is another story, since I have memory dreamt? I dreamed to soar in the sky, later, I got was fascinated with the sky.

I got nix the got! graduated one year ago, at level six, one graduates at level seven, which is restricted. now I'm thinking seriously onof continueing with my studies by myself or seek a mentor, maybe I will go in a journey for the hidden knowledge what hidden knowlege, nix the "the" if you are not talking about something specific, let's say that I'm going where the wind guides me. you are more likely to find hidden knowlege in Ximax, which has great libraries

A horned owl that got as birthdate birthday present named “Storm” and a lone-errand wolf named "Shadow"
•Storm: She is a bit aggressive with strangers, but with kids it’s all the opposite, she likes to get be caressed in on the head and under the beak. Storm loves the Ximax rats… as dinner, wile while I was in school; she made my room one of the few without rats. I think that I like her, she hears me and does almost all that I ask her to do, I say almost, because sometimes she won’t obey. I never tried to put her in a cage, so you may see her over my shoulder.
I got Storm in on my birthdate day one year before I got nix the got graduated, so it’s young to say, I think no more than a year since she left the nest.
•Shadow: He is a wolf that I found around Ximax academy, I don’t know how he got there, but I know that Shadow isn’t wild. Shadow is playful; my room was a bit messy because Shadow played with me. When I first got let him intp my room, many people think thought that I was crazy, but slowly they stopped to think  nix the yellow, believing fits better. They stopped believing that.that.

tame wolf? who tamed him, how was he tamed, and why did he decide to stay with you?

He loves to eat my leftovers, so isn’t a problem at the time of feeding him, since I don’t eat much. I think that Avá send sent him to me, but dunno, casualty and Avá aren’t compatible.? My relation with him, I would say it’s good, he obeys when he likes to obey and at dinner time, most of time he is trying to make me play with him.

Well, by learning things on your own you'll be able to improve in what you already know. After a certain period of time, you'll be able to cast spells at level 7 or higher. You'll be able to adapt your spells to your needs and all those things just like a higher level mage, but, you won't be a real level 7 or higher. Since you're not learning new things (mainly sphere III) you won't be able to use new techniques in your spells. You could use books and the like, but if you choose that way you'll be advancing slower.

Quote:
I already explained my feelings. How can you not like the destructive power of fire, but be attracted to the destructive power of wind. That makes no sence at all!

You know, fire and water are generally being looked at as being destructive in nature, more then wind or earh, so it could be how he feels about this. That's why I didn't comment on it. If he'd ever meet my mage char, I'll gladly convince him how wrong his assumptions are though :p

Thanks for comenting.
As answer to my graduation level... here is the quote, taken from the forum, of restrictions, Elven aging etc.
Quote:
These are the ages required to reach each level, up to level 6, which is the graduation level for the Academy. All students start at level 0.

So I'm graduated if this is still in use.
About the wolf, Why not? Marvin have a Warg.

Marvin also has a somewhat reasonable explaination for this. He saved it's life. It could not attack him when he first saw it, and he immediately fed it. Also wargs are more intelligent then other wolves if I remember correctly.

About the magic level, I believe one graduates at the end of level six, as is exemplified by the main sight right... here

It shows that level seven is the first true Magicitai level and states of level six
Quote:
As the inititse prepares to enter the status of a full-fledged mage, they will learn the fine art of magical creation.

Ok, If I had seen that before, I wouldn't put graduation.
This leaves me with a question, someone in this post say that you can graduate at every level, that's true or false?

Title: Re: So Orril Miés'efér
Post by: Mina on February 19, 2006, 03:54:23 AM
It's false.  And that entry is very outdated.  However, you are right that level 6 is when a mage graduates from Ximax.  If they leave before then, they are not considered to have graduated.

Seems so :)

Orril, why don't you just make a trip out in the woods, or accompany somebody and there you find a wolf pup? Maybe the party you were with killed the other wolves of the pack and you took care of the little one? Then it might work...it will accept you as its "alpha male"

As for graduation: compare it to a real life doctor. Each year you'll graduate from the year you are following, but only after the seventh or so you'll be a fully-fledged doctor. Still, that doesn't mean you'll be able to do more complicated things as surgery. => As a mage, you can graduate from level 1-5, but at level 6 you'll be considered as a fully-fledged mage. That doesn't mean you'll be to do complicated things as sphere III spells though. If you want to do those, you'll need extra studying. Just more experience won't help you out with that.

Magic looks fine now. A bit short, but accepteble I think.

What about going through it again and trying to eliminate the grammar mistakes the spellchecker can't find or the double words :
latter later
leaved=left
etc
Shaded forest=Shaded Forest
:)
rephrase your "alpha" (leading animal)

Quote:
well, let’s see if you don’t tan after almost 300 years doing fieldwork

When did you do fieldwork? Magery is studying and I don't see you doing it in your spare time in your history.

Quote:
because I stay awake almost all the afternoon and night and sleep almost all morning, so for say it fast I love the night, and this is reflected on my familiars, a wolf and an owl.

Aren't wolves creature of the day?

Quote:
Others says that I'm exceedingly patient, that I must show my strength, when I was studying I was a target for affronts, but I never put a stop (Well, actually once, but now I think it wasn't enough).

Being patient doesn't make you a target for insults as far as I know.

Quote:
My family sent me letters too, and usually a bit of money to buy more reagents.

And food, and clothes, and books, and... Unless you have some kind of job you'll need that too :)

Quote:
In my years of study I got two familiars, a horned owl named "Strom" and a wolf named "Shadow" this two were a birthday since Storm was it, and Shadow...

This sentence is confusing. What do you mean with it? And Strom or Storm?

Quote:
While I was in a trip with some hunters in the woods I found a wolf pup, casualty? don't think so, I couldn't leave him there, I thought that my party killed his pack, so I felt bad, I picked the cub and keep it. I named him Shadow, for it’s gray color, Shadow grow, thinking that I was and am the Alpha of the pack, so it don't attacks me.

Again, you're writing is very confusing. Break it up in some more sentences and don't be afraid to explain things a little more.
I think you mean 'Coincidence?'. you won't be able to do much with a wolf pup casualty.
You mean he has a shadow grey colour?

Quote:
I think that I like her, she hears me and does almost all that I ask her to do, I say almost, because sometimes she won’t obey.

You think? So you're not sure about it? And how can she understand you? You mean you learned things (like sit, lie down, attack, stay,...)? She's just an owl after all.

I noticed you're using a lot of commas, even when it isn't needed. Sometimes it's better to break things up in two (or more) sentences, especially when two parts of a sentence have little to do with one another. Also, you don't need a comma in front of 'and' or 'or' unless you want to stress that there's a pause in between the two parts of the sentences.

Thanks for comenting Marv.
I will add about fieldwork, yes the idea was in the spare time and I think in Ximax academy they give you hollydays, Right?

Well, about wolves, they usually sleep in day and afternoon, but they can stay awake at day too. And is common to see the wolves as creatures of the night and darkness (at least in Latinamerica that is the idea about wolves).

Being patient makes you a good person indeed, but usually others abuse of that patiens, and provoke you, that is my personal expirence.

Good point, I never thinked about that... I will add it now.

Typing error in the sentence, I mean Storm. And I mean that while I studyed someone gave me Storm and I got Shadow pup from the forest.

Yes, I mean Shadow have a shadow grey color. And yes, the word I was searching for was coincidence.

I used I think because I can't proof if I like her (This is a bit confusing, I mean if she have a "feling" about me). Then, owls are very inteligent birds, if you have them from very young, then they learn about meanings, if you say "X sit", and X "sits", you give something as price, then X will learn that if he/she does that when you ask it, he/she will get food. That is the most common training method.

If you can understand that, means that I'm not so bad to express, if you can't understand that, ask again, and I will search for a better explanation.

You mean you can't prove she likes you?

Oh, and just a hint, but I found that spellchecking every post you make improves your spelling a lot. It's what I used to do when I started out playing. I used to have spelling mistakes about every two sentences. Now I don't do so anymore as there's only typos left and I'm too lazy to fire up word for that :)

Quote:
During my spare time I did some fieldwork and research around Ximax city

Fieldwork and research for...? Magery is more a thing that is learned behind desks. Practice can happen pretty much anywhere where there's sufficient space for the spell you're practicing (and perhaps another (better) mage to keep an eye on things.

Quote:
In my years of study I got two familiars, a horned owl named "Storm" and a wolf named "Shadow" this two were a birthday since a friend gave me Storm as a present and Shadow...

This is still as confusing as before. Try and make it a bit more clear. For example: "In my years of study I got two familiars, a horned owl named "Storm" and a wolf named "Shadow". Storm was a birthday present from a friend and Shadow...".

Quote:
With other people he gets nervous. () He doesn’t attack the others, but doesn’t let them to touch him. With kids he is playful as with me. Why? A good question. I think that’s because he associates the older people to the hunters, and the kids as anything more.

And the kids as anything more... and then? Anything more what?

Well, there’s still a lot of improvement to be done in your grammar, but I guess you'll get better at that as you use your English more. Also, as I said before, you tend to try and put everything in one sentence, sometimes even if things are not related to each other. Generally, if I'm using three or more commas in one sentence I'll see if I can split it up. For example like I did with in the last quote.

Title: Re: So Orril Miés'efér
Post by: Rvahr the Hunter on March 16, 2006, 04:19:23 PM
You know the drill. Watch for me red pen

Physical Appearance
I have golden hair and deep yellow eyes, reaching Strata yellow. My nose is neither big nor small, just the right size, and is a bit angular. My eyes are incrusted deep in my face, so if the light hits me in certain angles the shadow will cover totally them and let you see them literally shine. I’m skinny, making my cheekbones appear bigger than whatnix the what they are really. My ears, as many are in the elven tribes, are pointed. My skin is a bit tanned, form the long exposure to sun (well, let’s see if you don’t tan after almost 300 years doing fieldwork).

I'm a bit taller than is usual for my tribe, withnix the with. Instead say, standing at two peds.

if this is a stand alone sentace, space it, if not, then mix them

If you tried to guess my age, you probably guess wrong, in appearance many people say that I'm 31 or 32, but I have 385 years under my belt, enough time to see many things. Don’t you think so?

Clothes
I tend to wear a golden shirt, and white trousers, as you may see I don’t bother searching for complimenting colors; also I like to wear greenish things, but it's not as common as common as what?. On rainy or cold days I use a golden cloak, to keep me warm and protect myself from being getting instead of being wet.

• Personality
I’m a calm person, is very hard to make me angry, however, once enraged is also hard to stop me. I like kids, and students also, so if you have a problem just knock my door and I will gladly help you. As a mage you may see that I have a strong willpower and focus. I hate the hypocrisy, and the lack of honor or courage. I love to write, also do some sports. I rush over things, wishing to finish them, quickly and be free to continue with more, and more, and more. If you see me, you would think that I never get tired, but many times I get exhausted without notice. Another thing, I love to sleep until late, some people think that I’m a bit odd, because I stay awake almost all the afternoon and night and sleep almost all morning, so for say it fast I love the night, and this is reflected on my familiars, a wolf and an owl.

• Strengths and Weaknesses
A) Strengths
My biggest strength is my willpower, once I propose something I will do it at the price it cost.

annother strength is my focus, once focused in something I won’t leave it.

My wind magic helps in many occasions, as I’m good with it, and especially good with offensive spells.

I have a wolf and an owl who helps me, when they like to.

b) Weaknesses

My biggest weakness is my sence of honor, it gets me into many dangerous situations, and only because I try to defend what I believe is right.

Another of my weakness is my lack of stamina. explain in further detail

Another weakness is my curiosity, which gets me into trouble as often as my honor.

Another weakness is that if I get angry, I will be hard to calm down again.

Also I’m not very muscular to say, so I’m not very good handling big things (like a long sword) nor heavy ones (another reason to chose wind magic).

Also, many people think that I'm too confident, so I can get in problems easily. Others says that I'm exceedingly patient, that I must show my strength, when I was studying I was a target for affronts, but I never put a stop to it (Well, actually once, but now I think it wasn't enough).

My last weakness is that I don't think itnix the twice twice for making decisions, rushing everything to finish quickly.

• History
My grandpa was a member of the council of elders of the Injerín, my father was an Injerín mage and my mother was an Aellenrhim mage tooalso rather than too.

My parents met while they were students in Ximax, they say that first they tried to be better than the other, but eventually they feel felt the pull of love. After they ended the school finished school, they sent letters to their parents, saying that they were to get be married; my grandparents quickly went to Ximax, to meet each other. The two families had no problems, and the marriage went excellent well, beautifully, wonderfuly, or excellently..

After some years there I started to become interested in magic, but since I didn’t like the destructive power of fire if you dont like destructive power, why are you so good at offencive wind spells, which are just as destructive as fire spells?, and don’t have affinity with it, so I chose the wind. That happened slowly, my father and my mother were wind mages, so my fascination started when I was very young, 12 years or less. Day by day my interest and fascination grew, wishing I could do what my parents could, like walk in the air or vanish and appear.

Three weeks before my 21st birthdate birthday my family asked me about going to Ximax… Obvious I said yes, it was my opportunity and I wasn’t going to lose it. My grandpa gave me money to purchase everything I could need, and with some help of my parents I started my journey.

My journey began on a river, going all the way down Luquador River, until the Worldquest, resting in one village; we didtraveled two days down river to the village, that time I was so anxious that I couldn’t sleep, so for thethose instead of the two days I saw all surrounding me, and started to daydream of what was going to happen. On the third day we started going down to the Sea of Ttears, stopping two times in the way.

After five days we reached the Sea of Ttears, we changed from the river ship to an ocean ship, and started my ocean journey. I must say, that I will think itnix twice before going again on an ocean ship, my stomach isn’t made for that, all the way I felt sick, and never went out of my cabin.

you need a space here

Six days sea passed, at the sixth day we landed on Thysland.
Few days passed in Thysland, I stayed there for some time, to recover from my oceanic sickness, when I felt better I continued my way, now to the south, after two days innix on the roads road we passed beforenix Hort, and rested two days.

After the two days, I entered in the Shivering Woods, fewlittle, not few time passed before I reached Ximax, from there I went first to the Valgure's Magical Emporium to buy all the things things I would need, and after that I went to the Academy. Once installedinstalled? initiated!, I sent letters to my family, telling them about my progresses (and disasters) in the school. My family sent me letters too, and usually a bit of money to buy more reagents, and books and food and all the things I could need.

When I startednix all this and instead say... At first I had some problems... I had some problems, like vanishing some parts only, reflecting what I was thinking... things like that, things that occursno s to every novice with the their not the spells.

space

But slowly I got better, making some big records, like hitting a feather in the air with lighting, or walking for almost all the practice yard in the air. If you have doubts, let me say that 350 years of practice can make your accuracy improve.
During my spare time I did sports and practiced my spells in open air, so my skin tanned slowly.

In my years of study I got two familiars, a horned owl named "Storm" and a wolf named "Shadow". Storm was a birthday present from a friend and Shadow...

While I was in a trip with some hunters in the woods I found a wolf pup, coincidence? Don’t think so. I couldn't leave him there; I thought that my party killed his pack, so I felt bad; I picked the cub and keep it.

space

I named him Shadow, for it’s gray color, Shadow growgrew, thinking that I was and am the Alpha of the pack, so ithe don't doesn't attacksno s me.

I studied from my 21st to my 385th year, becoming a good mage. I got graduated at level 6, I’m very proud of it.

When I graduated, I decided that was time to see the world once more, that time to be in towers and the academy itself was had, not was ended. So I packed my things and left, followed only by Shadow and Storm.

• Magic
I studied at Ximax, in the Tower of Skies, becoming very good with spells like clap of thunder and static trap, preferring the attack over defense yet you do not like the destructive power of fire, why?.

I hate the fire, it is uncontrollable and unpredictable, also unstable, this is no more true than the other elements, really. Sometimes it can be, but so can wind. but hides all this in its beautiful appearance is not wind beautiful I can't stand the destruction hidden in it, that is hypocrisy.

space

Earth and water are not my elements, I never dared to step close to the Tower of Earth, fearing that the earth would swallow me. Not to say the Tower of the Sea was any less fearsom, I never came close, fearing... fearing its unbearable icy punishment.

Wind is another story, since I have memory I dreamed to soar in the sky, later, I was fascinated with the sky, I dared to step the Tower of Skies because I was very sure I could be a wind mage, and only that made me try. this in and of itself is a better explaination than the others combined.

I graduated one year ago, at level six, now I'm thinking seriously to run travel? the world?, I want to see as many things I can before my time ends.

•Belongings
A spell book, a bag for reagents, another for travel, a pouch of money, cloths and a change of clothes.

• Familiars.
A horned owl that I got as birthday present named “Storm” and a lone wolf named "Shadow"

•Storm: She is a bit aggressive with strangers, but with kids it’s all the opposite, she likes to get be caressed on the head and under the beak. Storm loves the Ximax rats… as dinner, while I was in school; she made my room one of the few without rats. I think that she fancies me, she hears me and does almost all that I ask her to do, I say almost, because sometimes she won’t obey. I never tried to put her in a cage, so you may see her over my shoulder.

space

I got Storm in on my birthday one year before I graduated, so it’s young to say, I think no more than a year since she left the nest.

•Shadow: He is a wolf that I found in a trip with hunters, he was just a pup when I found him and I couldn't resist taking him with me, since his pack was killed by my party, or that is what I think.

space

Shadow grew thinking that I was the Alpha, so he respects me; he eats my leftovers, so it's not a problem to feed him. He is good to catch things, and to make my room a mess too. He is playful, and a good familiar. I think that Avá sent him to me as a response for the killing of his pack.

space

Witharound other people, not with other people he gets nervous. ()nix He doesn’t attack the others, but doesn’t let them to touch him. With kids he is playful as with me. Why? A good question. I think that’s because he associates the older people to the hunters, and the kids to something that’s inoffensive.

• Height
Two peds.

• Weight
a Pygge and two Hafebs.
move this to the top of the CD where it belongs!

You are well on your way, this last group of changes should be some of the last.

Hey Orril :)  Thought I would comment real quick. Since your comments have already been very extensive, there shouldn't be much left and you might get your first approval :)

•Name
So Orril Miés'efér
•Picture

•Gender
Male
•Age
Appears 31, really 385
•Race
Elf
•Tribe
Injerín.
•Title
Mage of the Silver Wind
• Height
Two peds.
• Weight
a Pygge and two Hafebs (this would be more easily understood if written as 1 pygge and 2 hafebs)

I’m skinny, making my cheekbones appear larger than they are really. My ears, as many are in the elven tribes, are pointed.

My skin is a bit tanned, from the long exposure to sun (well, let’s see if you don’t tan after almost 300 years going every day to the woods).

I'm tall as usual for my tribe, standing at two peds.

If you tried to guess my age, you probably guess wrong, in appearance many people say that I'm 31 or 32, but I have 385 years under my belt, enough time to see many things. Don’t you think so?

Clothes
I tend to wear a golden shirt, and white trousers. As you may see, I don’t bother searching for complimenting colors. I also like to wear items of a  greenish hue but it's not very common to see me with something green. On rainy or cold days I use a golden cloak, to keep me warm and protect myself from getting wet.

• Personality
I’m a calm person and it is very hard to make me angry; however, once enraged, it is also (delete "also";) hard to stop me. I like kids, and students also, so if you have a problem just knock my door and I will gladly help you. As a mage, you may see that I have a strong willpower and focus. I hate the (delete "the";) hypocrisy, and the lack of honor or courage. I love to write and to participate in some sports. I rush through things, wishing to finish them, (delete the comma) quickly and be free to continue with more, and more, and more. (one "more" is good. Delete the others) If you see me, you would think that I never get tired, but many times I get exhausted without notice. Another thing, I love to sleep until (delete "until";) late. Some people think that I’m a bit odd, (Delete the comma) because I stay awake almost all the afternoon and night and sleep almost all morning, (so for say it fast I love the night,) - I don't understand the section in parenthesis and this is reflected on my familiars, a wolf and an owl.

• Strengths and Weaknesses
A) Strengths
My biggest strength is my willpower, once I propose something I will do it at the price it cost.

Another strength is my focus, once focused in something I won’t leave it.

My wind magic helps in many occasions, as I’m good with it, and especially good with offensive spells.

I have a wolf and an owl that helps me, when they like to.

b) Weaknesses
My biggest weakness is my sense of honor, it gets me into many dangerous situations, and only because I try to defend what I believe is right. This is also a strength. Defending what you believe is right is always a strength, even though the outcome isn't always pleasant
Another of my weakness is my lack of stamina; I can’t run for long periods of time, nor lift big weights.

Another weakness is my curiosity, which gets me into trouble as often as my honor.

Another weakness is that if I get angry, I will be hard to calm down again. What do you do when you get angry? How does it give you a disadvantage?

Also I’m not very muscular to say, so I’m not very good handling big things (like a long sword) nor heavy ones (another reason to chose wind magic).

Also, many people think that I'm too confident, so I can get in problems easily. Others says that I'm exceedingly patient, that I must show my strength, when I was studying I was a target for affronts, but I never put a stop to it (Well, actually once, but now I think it wasn't enough).

My last weakness is that I don't think for making decisions, rushing everything to finish quickly.

History
Deep in a dark studio, illuminated with little light from a fire place and some candles, So Orril Miés'efér writes in a book. For its look, someone can guess he is very busy, the quill goes fast from the left to the right, leaving some letters in greenish ink.

Suddenly someone knocks at the front door, the knocking makes Orril distract and cut a bit of the paper with the quill — What the??? Who's out this late on streets? — Leaves the things and goes to the front door — Who's there? — Asked Orril from inside, a feminine voice answer — Now no one can visit you? — Orril is intrigued opens the door, outside is a female mage — Sorry dear, I didn’t expected someone come this late, come in — She doesn't wait and enters. Instead of using "-'s", can you use "?

— Rumors run through Ximax that you are thinking of leaving — Said she once seated in a couch, (delete the comma) in front of the fireplace. She did a brief stop, before she continued — Tell me Orril, tell me your past. Is something there that you can tell? Something so bad to keep it as a mystery? — Orril stared at her, slowly he answered — I have told you thousands of times, I don’t like no one know how I am. Knowledge is power, and some people here have that power, now I must leave — Orril ended writing the book, he puts it in a bag.

Who is this girl? And why is she asking him about his past?

The visitor asked once more — C’mon I don’t have secrets for you, tell me that before you leave, I wish to know the true — Orril falls in the other couch, thinks a moment, and starts:

— I’m the grandson of a member of the elders’ council from the Injerín tribe, though I’m not a pure blood.

My father was an Injerín; he was a great wind mage. While a boy, all I dreamt was becoming someday as good as him.

My mother, on the other hand, was an Aellenrhim wind mage, she always made me ponder how she knew what I was doing, and I think I will never know. — Orril stopped a bit and continued — My parents met while they were in Ximax. At first they struggled to be better than the other, they did all kind of crazy competitions, like make a mirage in the middle of a stairway and see how many people failed to recognize that all was an illusion, like chase with wind walk… they made all, from grades to foolish games. But slowly they saw that their struggle was for astonish the other, they meet the real feeling that makes everyone confuse. They fall in love, and some time before their graduation my father asked my mother to be his wife. — The visitor suspired, Orril take air and continued — Twelve years latter I was born in the Shaded Forest town named O'kroi'parda'ael, “The everlasting War in West”. We lived six years there, but eventually we moved to another town, where my parents and grandparents thought that I would grow better. Avá’ewelín, “The Beauty of Life” was the next town I stayed, this town is famous for a botanical garden in the center, the people of there throw the seeds, and leave Avá to do her work, making it beautiful.

While I stayed there, my fascination toward wind and wind magic grew, every day that I saw my parents using it for cleaning or transport, I wished to be able to do it. Every blink that I saw the deep blue sky, I desired to soar in it.
I grew up, hearing my parents speaking about Ximax, about how wonderful was it, this helped my interest to go there grow.

In my twenty-first birthday, my grandpa asked me about going to Ximax.
My heart raced, I reached the sky in that moment, and while this happened a word make me go even far, I answered yes.

My grandfather made all the arrangements, and a week latter I was taking a river ship that would lead me to the sea. I was going all the way down Luquador River, until the Sea of Tears.

The first and second day on the ship passed very fast, we (the crew and me) did land on a little village near the Worldquest River. I remember that these two days where almost fatal to me, because the excitement gave me insomnia, I hardly slept an hour or two in the two days.

The third day I fall asleep without remedy, I didn’t leaved my cabin in two days; some persons thought that something happened to me, but no one interrupted my dream. At the fifth day we did land, I awoke on time to take the ocean ship, I can’t remember its name, but was the biggest ship I ever saw.
But big don’t mean good, all the way I felt sick, the next time I must go on an ocean ship I will think it twice.
All the time I were in ocean I didn’t leaved my cabin, only to eat, and was extremely rare that I eat something on that ship.

Six day passed on that ship, we did land in Thysland the night of the sixth day.
I stayed in Thysland for some weeks, recovering from my sea sickness. Once I felt better I continued my way, to south. I walked about four days before I reach Hort, I took two days to rest there. After that time I entered the Shivering Woods, I walked all they way until Ximax, and in the way I felt a deep link with nature, something hard to explain, but from that day until now I try to go to woods every time I can.

Finally I reached Ximax, first I went to the Valgure’s Emporium to buy all the stuffs for school, and after I went to the Academy.

Once installed, I sent letters all days to my parents, until they died, my family sent me letters too, and sometimes money for cover my needs. But when my parents died, I needed a job, so I started to work in Valgure’s Emporium.

My spare time was reduced, but many friends came to me, one of them was a hunter.

He invited me to go with him and his party to hunt; they did so, including a pack of wolves. At the end I found a wolf pup, lone and famished, I thought that my party killed his pack, so I hide it and took to my room, where I cared him. Shadow grew thinking that I was the Alpha of his lost pack, so he doesn’t attacks me, you know. But the impression of the hunters was well kept in his mind, and won’t let others to come close to him.

Also you know about Storm, she was your birthday present that never leaves my shoulder, I’m very glad to have an owl like she.

You know all that happened latter — Orril ended, a long silence happened, before the visitor asked — And what about the incident? Tell me, you didn’t have something to do with it? — Orril said — Well, I don’t have something more to loss; swear me that you will never tell someone what I’m going to tell you — The young girl promised and Orril continued — That night I was sleeping, when someone came into my room and started taking my things, he was leaving when I followed him, covered with the Vanish spell, but accidents happens, and I fall to the ground. The burglar noticed that and tried to cut me in pieces, he lifted his knife and all that I could do was defend myself, clapped my hands, and the lighting killed him.
I returned to my bedroom, but… someone saw me, the Archmage himself, in less than a day, I was sitting in front of him, telling all this — Orril ended, the visitor covered her mouth with horror, but said nothing more. — See why I wasn’t willing to tell my past? This was a secret between the Archmage and me, but someone else know that now aside you, so all I can do is get out of here, you know, after all I need to go out, I started here when I was 21 and now I’m 385 years old. — Orril stopped talking, the other mage used this silence to ask — What about our graduation? You will stay until tomorrow? — Orril nodded, and said to finish — I will stay, but once finished our graduation I will leave. Now would you like a cup of tea? — The night passed over, and as said by Orril he left the next night, followed only by Shadow and Storm.

I think much more time has gone in your CD commenting it than writing!
Orril, please colour your changes! Not the grammar and spellchecking, but the rest.

Hey, Orril!  I'm a new Santharian, not yet titled, so I really can't comment on anything other than grammar and readability.  I like to think I'm good at that, though, so here goes:

Corrections in goldenrod
Explanations in...what color is this?  Silver-blue?  Ish?  Whatever...

Name
So Orril Miés'efér
•Picture

•Gender
Male
•Age
Appears 31, really 385
•Race

•Title
Sky Master

Physical Appearance
I have golden hair and deep yellow eyes, reaching Strata yellow. My nose is neither big nor small, just the right size, and is a bit angular. My eyes are incrusted deep in my face, so if the light hits me at certain angles the shadow will cover them totally and let you see them literally shine. I'm tall as usual for my tribe, standing at two peds.

If you tried to guess my age, you would probably guess wrong; in appearance many people say that I'm 31 or 32, but I have 385 years under my belt, (not sure what to do here, but the comma is wrong...maybe use a double hyphen?) enough time to see many things. Don’t you think so?

Clothes
I tend to wear a golden shirt, and white trousers. As you may see I don’t bother searching for complimenting colors. I also like to wear items of a greenish hue, but it's not very common to see me with something green. On rainy or cold days I use a golden cloak, to keep me warm and protect myself from getting wet.

I rush through things, wishing to finish them quickly and be free to continue with more. If you see me, you would think that I never get tired, but many times I get exhausted without notice. Another thing, Ahh...either change "Another thing" to also, or change the comma afterwards to a colon.  Comma doesn't work with this phrase. I love to sleep late. Some people think that I’m a bit odd because I stay awake almost all the afternoon and night and sleep almost all morning, so to say it short, I love the night, and this is reflected by my familiars, a wolf and an owl.

• Strengths and Weaknesses
A) Strengths
My biggest strength is my willpower; or : once I propose something, I will do it at the price it costs.

Another strength is my focus; once focused in something, I won’t leave it. Isn't this the same thing as willpower, sort of?

My wind magic helps in many occasions, as I’m good with it, and especially good with offensive spells.

One other strength is my sense of honor; it gets me into many dangerous situations when I try to defend what I believe is right.

The way you phrase the "honor" strength, it sounds like more of a weakness.

I have a wolf and an owl that help me, when they like to.

b) Weaknesses.

My biggest weakness is my lack of stamina; I can’t run for long periods of time, nor lift big weights.

Another weakness is my curiosity, which gets me into trouble as often as my honor.
Again, I think maybe "honor" should be down here with your weaknesses, because of how you describe it

Another weakness is that if I get angry, I will enter a berserker state, not thinking about what I am doing.

Also, I’m not very muscular persay, so I’m not very good at handling big things (like a long sword) nor heavy ones (another reason to chose wind magic).

Also, many people think that I'm too confident, so I can get in problems easily. Others says that I'm exceedingly patient, that I must show my strength; when I was studying I was a target for affronts, but I never put a stop to it (Well, actually once, but now I think it wasn't enough).

My last weakness is that I don't think so much before making decisions, rushing everything to finish quickly.

History
Deep in a dark studio, illuminated with a little (or just "dim" ) light from a fire place and some candles, So Orril Miés'efér writes in a book. For its look "At a glance?"  Never heard the phrase 'for its look' before, but I could be wrong, someone can guess he is very busy; the quill goes fast from the left to the right, leaving some letters in greenish ink.

Suddenly someone knocks at the front door.  The knocking distracts (verb confusion here; you started in present tense, so you need to stay in it all the way through) Orril and makes him cut a bit of the paper with the quill — What the??? This was a secret between the Archmage and me, but someone else knows that now aside from you, so all I can do is get out of here, you know, after all, I need to go out, I started here when I was 21 and now I’m 385 years old. — Orril stopped talking; the other mage used this silence to ask — What about our graduation? You will stay until tomorrow? — Orril nodded, and said to finish — I will stay, but once finished with our graduation I will leave. Now would you like a cup of tea? — The night passed over, and as said by Orril he left the next night, followed only by Shadow and Storm.

Belongings
A spell book, a bag for reagents, another for travel, a pouch of money, cloths, and a change of clothes.

• Familiars.
A horned owl that I got as birthday present named “Storm” and a lone wolf named "Shadow"

•Storm: She is a bit aggressive with strangers, but with kids it’s all the opposite.  She likes to get be pick one, "get" or "be," but don't use both caressed on the head and under the beak. Storm loves the Ximax rats… as dinner, while I was in school; she made my room one of the few without rats.

Shadow grew thinking that I was the Alpha, so he respects me; he eats my leftovers, so it's not a problem to feed him. He is good at catching things, and making my room a mess too. He is playful, and a good familiar. I think that Avá sent him to me as a response for the killing of his pack.

Around some people, but not with others, he gets nervous. He doesn’t attack the others, but doesn’t let them touch him. With kids he is playful as with me. Why? A good question. I think that’s because he associates the older people to the hunters, and the kids to something that’s inoffensive.

What a fun character!  You'll have a great time out on the boards, I think!  Good job.  Sorry if I missed anything, corrected anything wrong, or got too trigger happy (I'm notorious for that).  Anyway, have a fantastic day!

Hey thanks, I think you caught everything, I didn't though I would have so many misspellings... hehe ;)

I'm new too, have almost four months working with this character.

BTW, Honor everyone told me to be a strengh, so I placed it in strenghts, but forgot to correct the style.

Again, thanks, I think I will drop my comment on your character.

Dear Talia, Marvin or R'hvar, I think I'm redy for title, what do you think?

BTW, What about strenghts and weakness now? I ask this because I'm thinking on adding a weapon to my CD.

Just S/W:

• Strengths and Weaknesses
A) Strengths
My biggest strength is my willpower; once I propose something, I will do it at the price it costs.

My other senses developed better when I closed my eyes, so my hearing is my second sight.

My wind magic helps in many occasions, as I’m good with it, and especially good with offensive spells.

One other strength is my sense of honor; it gets me into many dangerous situations when I try to defend what I believe is right, but is my moral and don’t try to correct it.
A good sense of honor might be a strenght, but the way you descibe this it can be a weakness as well.

I have a wolf and an owl that help me, when they like to.

I practiced fight with staff, as hobby, and though I know how to use it, I’m not overwhelming good with it.

B) Weaknesses.
My biggest weakness is my lack of stamina; I can’t run for long periods of time, nor lift big weights.
Stamina has little to do with lifting weights. That's strenght.

Since I don't open my eyes, I depend totally on my wind magic and my other senses to know my surroundings, so is easy to attack me by surprise.
Why never opening you eyes? I looked in your history and just a bet and wanting to know how a blind person 'sees' the world seems hardly a reason to give up your sight forever. You won't be able to read or write and if you can't do that, then I doubt you'll be able to learn magic. And you'll probably learn a lot slower. Also - and that's just of a personal oppinion - I never understood why people want to play a blind person but give them some exeptional qualities that replace the eyesight.

Another weakness is my curiosity, which gets me into trouble

Another weakness is that if I get angry, I will enter a berserker state, not thinking about what I am doing.

Also, I’m not very muscular per say, so I’m not very good at handling big things (like a long sword) nor heavy ones (another reason to chose wind magic).

Also, many people think that I'm too confident, so I can get in problems easily. Others says that I'm exceedingly patient, that I must show my strength; when I was studying I was a target for affronts, but I never put a stop to it (Well, actually once, but now I think it wasn't enough).

Other problem I have is that I’m a poor fighter when comes to fists, I can only fight with my magic or my Bo, but if the other is disarmed I won’t fight, it’s not fair.
This is not a weakness. Most people have no idea how to fight. You can both fight with a staff & you have your magic. Also, you're a mage, a scholar. You shouldn't need to defend yourself more then a teacher or a clerk has to.

Another big problem I have is that my muscles aren’t very strong due to the fault of exercise I had when young, so if someone press me a bit, I will fall to ground.
You already said you weren't very muscular and you mentioned you weren't good at lifting big weights in the stamina bit. That's three times the same thing.

My last weakness is that I don't think so much before making decisions, rushing everything to finish quickly.

Where did your magic section go?

:jawdrop  THIS THING DISAPPEARED MY MAgIC SECTION!!! I didn't noted that until you mentioned that... I have a backup in my PC so I will add it now.

Eyes cuestion, if classes are like common classes, then he would need more hears than eyes, since profesors speak more than the readings they let.

I will add though that he uses the wind magic to "see" if you want an explanation of how it works I can post it.

Thanks Marvin, and WB, you disappeared a long time.

If classes are like common classes you'll need books that are 'translated' to braille, special exams and so on. I know, cause there used to be a blind kid on my school (although a few years further then I was) and I picked up some of the things they needed to do to let him follow classes like a regular kid.

That aside, any reason why your eyes start to fade away? As for the 'seeing through magic'... *scratches chin* I don't know. In any case, 'link your mind to the air' doesn't work for me. How does he link it to the air? And how does that enable him to see? Your making spells, so try to explain this like you would do with a spell (just the 'how it works' part). Keep in mind that he can't sense any car'all and such.

hehe, thanks Malavon, I see ya in the Thirsty Herald or in a story if I end one day...

Ok Marv, I didn't wanted to explain that as an spell cause many people have problems understanding magic, but as you ask for it, I will put it.

Actually what I put about the fading sight is true, with the time and constant reading in dim light (very common in middle age BTW) the sight starts to fade, I, that have sixteen years need glasses for that reason, now imagine someone with 350 years.

Thanks:thumbup

Edit: I corrected all that you told me, I didn't wanted to post that explanation because I would use it for an spell later on, but sinse here is the RPG... NO ONE TELL ABOUT THIS IN DEV BOARD, is going to be a surprise.

Just the sight thingy:

Quote:
Let me tell you how it works, I had that secret hidden for very long, and only the professors knew what I was doing. You know that mind is composed by wind in its majority; eyes send the images to the mind, and the mind interprets them so you see, mind and eyes are in one Cár’áll, as the other senses. What I do is replacing my eyes with the wind surrounding me, so my mind and the wind are connected as one Cár’áll, thus I can see, without the blur I see with my eyes, cause the wind doesn’t have the problem I have in my eyes, and since my mind doesn’t have the problem I see far better with wind.

Why is it secret? If this is a self-thought spell, you'll need to be a much higher level then 3. Blocking light/images from entering is much easier then projecting images into someones mind. And since you can't sense car'all in any way, I doubt it is possible to just link your mind with the Wind around you. I don't even think that the mind is mainly composed by wind. Fire, Earth & Water can also affect the mind, but differently.

*thinks*

It's probably best to solve this on the dev board with the other magic people, but then you still have some spells to finish as well. Do you really want to go throught the trouble to get this working?

Yes I want, the question should be: are you in mood to make this work??

Marv, I said is a secret because I haven't developed the spell for giving sight, so only me knows it for the moment, once I developed the spell (that would be in some weeks) then I will change that.

I have my theory of senses, that they "speak" with the mind, if one sense fall in "silence" then you can reanimate it, or change it with another thing so the mind speaks with that thing and not with the normal sense organ.
In this idea, mind links with wind, so the wind starts to "speak" with the mind.

But you're right, it should be level IV or V to work, I will change that.

Mind, I shouldn't say that, perseption part of the mind is composed by wind, since wind can make the mirages, we had discused that on the elements properties thread.

Well, in that case it's probably best to work out the spell on the dev board first (or at least wait until you have something that all the devvies can agree upon).

I will put the question mark, and invite Silfer, Twen and Pikel to see the issue about the spell.

It's been a while... don't think I'm making this a habit again!

•Name
So Orril Miés'efér
•Picture
•Gender
Male
•Age
Appears 31, really 385
•Race
Elf
•Tribe
Injerín. And Allenrhim according to your history.
•Title
Sky Master
• Weight
1 Pygge and 2 Hafebs.

Physical Appearance
I have golden hair and deep yellow eyes, reaching Strata yellow.
Though usually I don't open them, to know why see history..
My nose is neither big nor small, just the right size, and is a bit angular. My eyes are incrusted deep in my face, so if the light hits me at certain angles the shadow will cover them totally and let you see them literally shine Even when they're closed?. I’m skinny, making my cheekbones appear larger than they are really. My ears, as many are in the elven tribes, are pointed.

My skin is a bit tanned, from the long exposure to sun (well, let’s see if you don’t tan after almost 300 years going to the woods in your spare time).

I'm tall as usual for my tribe, standing at two peds.

If you tried to guess my age, you would probably guess wrong; in appearance many people say that I'm 31 or 32, but I have 385 years under my belt; enough time to see many things. Don’t you think so?

Clothes
I tend to wear a golden shirt, and white trousers. As you may see I don’t bother searching for complimenting colors. I also like to wear items of a greenish hue, but it's not very common to see me with something green. This doesn't make much sense. Why doesn't he have green if he likes it? On rainy or cold days I use a golden cloak, to keep me warm and protect myself from getting wet.

• Personality

A) Strengths
My biggest strength is my willpower; once I propose something, I will do it at the price it costs.

My other senses developed better when I closed my eyes, so my hearing is my second sight.I would like to see a little more detail here. Just how good is his hearing? Could he hear a deer in a forest? A pin drop in a noisy room? We have to be sure this is not too extreme!

My wind magic helps in many occasions, as I’m good with it, and especially good with offensive spells.

One other strength is my sense of honor; it gets me into many dangerous situations when I try to defend what I believe is right, but is my moral and don’t try to correct it.

I have a wolf and an owl that help me, when they like to. How do they help you? Find food? Navigate? Fight?

I practiced fighting with staff, as hobby, and though I know how to use it, I’m not overwhelming good with it.

B) Weaknesses.
My biggest weakness is my lack of stamina; I can’t run for long periods of time, or stand long walks.

Since I don't open my eyes, I depend totally on my wind magic and my other senses to know my surroundings, so is easy to attack me by surprise.

Another weakness is my curiosity, which gets me into trouble

Another weakness is that if I get angry, I will enter a berserker state, not thinking about what I am doing.

Also, I’m not very muscular per say, so I’m not very good at handling big things (like a long sword) or heavy ones (another reason to choose wind magic).

Also, many people think that I'm too confident, so I can get in problems easily. Others says that I'm exceedingly patient, that I must show my strength; when I was studying I was a target for affronts, but I never put a stop to it (Well, actually once, but now I think it wasn't enough).

Other problem I have is that I’m a poor fighter when comes to fists, I can only fight with my magic or my staff, but if the other is disarmed I won’t fight, it’s not fair. This is not an actual weakness as not many people can fight at all. So having any form of defence is really more of a strength. Best just to leave this bit out.

Another big problem I have is that my sight started to fade, due to the continue use of books and that I keep them close so much time, now I need glasses to correct my sight when I use my eyes.

As I need to focus to keep my magical sight, is harder to cast spells, so I need more time to cast some spells than usually.

My last weakness is that I don't think so much before making decisions, rushing everything to finish quickly.

You'll definatley have to go into more detail about your magical hearing. Is it better than a normal person's sight would be? If so, how? More clear? Accurate? Can you see around/behind things or perhaps further distances? Is it limited to where you head is looking? Things like this would make huge sways in your balance between Strengths and Weaknesses, and are important to add. Remember, always keep balance in mind.

History
Deep in a dark studio, illuminated with a dim light from a fire place and some candles, So Orril Miés'efér writes in a book.

— Orril is intrigued and opens the door; outside is a female mage — Sorry dear, I didn’t expected someone to come this late, come in — She doesn’t wait and enters.

— Rumors run through Ximax that you think of leaving — Says she once seated in a couch in front of the fireplace. She stops briefly before she continues — Tell me Orril, tell me your past. Is something there that you can tell? Something so bad to keep it a mystery? — Orril keeps his eyes closed, though he appears to be looking at her. Slowly he answers — I have told you thousands of times, I don’t like anyone knowing who I am.

— I’m the grandson of a member of the elders’ council from the Injerín tribe, though I’m not of pure blood.

— Twelve years later I was born in the Shaded Forest town named O'kroi'parda'ael, “The Everlasting War in West”.

I grew up, hearing my parents speaking about Ximax, about how wonderful was it, and this helped my interest to go there grow.

While I stayed there, my father gave me a big idea, one afternoon he told me about the blind people, he told me that they couldn’t see, but instead their hearing and all the other senses included intuition were highly developed, so I bet with him, telling him that I would try that and "see" the results, from that day onwards I had my eyes closed, only opening them to see people I meet, to read, or to get a better aim in fights.

The first three years I had problems, accidents and bad jokes from my fellows, I thought about even quitting the bet, but my willpower made me continue. As years passed I started to see the results, my other senses developed as my father told me, my hearing especially so I can hear many things that others usually don't hear, or don't want to hear.

I walked about four days before I reached Hort.

You know that I only opened my eyes to read before I entered Ximax, when I reached level five I stopped to open my eyes because I found a magical way to see, instead of using my eyes that were by that time very blurred, I started to link my mind to the air, serving of it as eyes, seeing in this way have its advantages, you can see fairer, and as my vision was very faded I could see better with this method than with my eyes, though it has a big disadvantage.

You know that magic drains, that's why I need rests, between class and class, I left the sight completely, so I had to guide myself with the hearing and memory

But as I said, it has a big disadvantage, I need to focus on the wind surrounding me, making harder to cast other spells.

What I was on?? Ho yes, my parents’ death and my employee in the Emporium.

The burglar noticed that and tried to cut me in pieces; he lifted his knife and all that I could do was defend myself, I opened my eyes to get the best aim I could, clapped my hands, and the lighting killed him.

I returned to my bedroom, but… someone saw me, the Archmage himself, in less than a day, I was sitting in front of him, telling all this — Orril ended, the visitor covered her mouth with horror, but said nothing more. — See why I wasn’t willing to tell my past? This was a secret between the Archmage and me, but someone else knows that now aside from you, so all I can do is get out of here, you know, after all, I need to go out, I started here when I was 21 and now I’m 385 years old. — Orril stopped talking; the other mage used this silence to ask — What about our graduation? You will stay until tomorrow? — Orril nodded, and said to finish — I will stay, but once finished with our graduation I will leave. Now would you like a cup of tea? — The night passed over, and as said by Orril he left the next night, followed only by Shadow and Storm.

• Magic

Belongings
A spell book, a bag for reagents, another for travel, a pouch of money, cloths, a staff, and a change of clothes.
You mentioned glasses earlier. Do you actually own a pair? You'll probably need a story of how you aquired some if you do since spectacles aren't common place and I presume would be rather pricey

• Familiars.
A horned owl that I got as birthday present named “Storm” and a lone wolf named "Shadow"

•Storm: She is a bit aggressive with strangers, but with kids it’s all the opposite. She likes to get caressed on the head and under the beak. Storm loves the Ximax rats… as dinner, while I was in school; she made my room one of the few without rats.

Luca's Final Thought: Very interesting! I can't say for sure about the technicalities of your magic, since I am not a magic person. But I must say that you'll need to be more specific about your skills. Also, I made a few spelling and grammar checks where I could, but I did not catch all of them. If you have a word processor that can check it for you, be sure to give it a run through! :biggrin

Orril, I did tell you that just because you can take away someone's sight by trcking the mind does not mean you can make a blind person see by somehow reversing that procedure.

Also, the issue of sight is a complex one. We have spells, Aura Sight and Sense Aura, that can be of interest. But sight as we see, is light that goes into the eye and is encoded by the cells on our retina, and then sent to the mind, which makes sense of it all.

The point is, if someone has eyes that do not work, that damage can be repaired - if your nerve is broken, you can fix it, possibly, with magic - if the eye is, you can fix that. But to see trough wind, as we see... no. Or, I can't see any solution. You would have to know how your mind works, and then be able to encode the light around you and send that information to the mind.

Note that you can send a picture to the mind  - a Wind mage can send a picture from his mind to another mind. However, you can't do that here because there is no picture  - there is one outside, but that's light, and not a picture. For it to become a picture the mind has to make the signals into one.

You could see trough the eyes of someone else - but that would be difficult, to force entry into someones mind - else if that someone is willing to lend you eyes, but still, difficult.

Perhaps...I'm not a magic expert at all, so I'm probably suggesting the impossible, but I've toyed with this idea in other stories I've written...

What if, rather than 'wind sight,' it's more of a 'wind touch?'

We've established that the mind is predominantly made up of wind car'all (right?), so what if there was a way to merge the wind car'all of one's mind with the car'all of surrounding air?  Thus, by making them the same entity, one might be able to sense the immediate area through more of an extended 'feel' rather than sight.

Just a thought.  Please correct me so I know I'm wrong ;)

What Silfer said was pretty much what I was concerned about. Only explained waaay better :)

@Wolvenwing: It's not that it's impossible, but as we have no real explanation on how it would work at the moment (and thus unsure if it exist at all) it can't be played out. Undeveloped things can be allowed if we have a rough idea on how it would work in Santharia and available to the char in question, but those are exceptions.

Hello So Orril! I saw only a very few grammatical mistakes in the overall CD. You have really come a long way in your English!:hug    As I saw nothing else that was trully outside the ordinary and it was a nice read overall. I give you your first approval my fellow apprentice. Kalina being an English major may have a few things she would like edited but it is nicely written. So work with her if she wants some corrections So Orril and you are almost there.

Orril, I thought your Cd looks nicer with some colour and bold letters.. I post it twice, so that you can copy/paste it..

Name: So Orril Miés'efér

Gender : Male

Age:  Appears 31, is really 385

Race: Elf

Tribe: Injerín/Aellenrhim.

Title: Sky Master

Occupation: ????

Weight: 1 Pygge and 2 Hafebs.

Height

Physical Appearance

I have golden hair and deep yellow eyes, reaching Strata yellow.
My nose is neither big nor small, just the right size, and is a bit angular. My eyes are incrusted deep in my face, so if the light hits me at certain angles the shadow will cover them totally and let you see them literally shine. I’m skinny, making my cheekbones appear larger than they are really. My ears, as many are in the elven tribes, are pointed.

My skin is a bit tanned, from the long exposure to sun (well, let’s see if you don’t tan after almost 300 years going to the woods in your spare time).

Well, Orril, elven woods are quite dense, so you might not get much tan  there - beside that all other elves live there as well, who are not described like this. What about these flushed cheeks of the Injerin?

Are you wearing the gold of a teacher - if so, say it!

History

Deep in a dark studio isn‘t this quite a modern word, what about study? , illuminated with a dim light from a fire place and some candles, So Orril Miés'efér writes in a book.

— Orril is intrigued and opens the door; outside is a female mage — Sorry dear, I didn’t expected someone to come this late, come in — She doesn’t wait and enters.

I grew up, hearing my parents speaking about Ximax, about how wonderful it was , and this fuelled my interest to go there

Shadow grew thinking that I was the leader (I told you not to use this word months ago!;)   of his lost pack, so he doesn’t attack me, you know.

This was a secret between the Archmage and me, but someone else knows that now aside from you, so all I can do is get out of here, you know, after all, I need to go out, I started here when I was 21 and now I’m 385 years old. — Orril stopped talking; the other mage used this silence to ask — What about our graduation? You will stay until tomorrow? — Orril nodded, and said to finish — I will stay, but once finished with our graduation I will leave. Now would you like a cup of tea? — The night passed over, and as said by Orril he left the next night, followed only by Shadow and Storm.
What for graduation - you tell in your magic section, that you graduted from level 6 a year ago

Why has it to be a secret, that you defended yourself to save your life? I don‘t see a reason to leave for this incident.

• Magic
I studied at Ximax, in the Tower of Skies, becoming very good with spells like clap of thunder and static trap, preferring the attack over defense. Ximax rats have magical abilities, do you think they are an easy catch for a normal owl?

•Shadow: He is a wolf that I found in a trip with hunters. He was just a pup when I found him and I couldn't resist taking him with me, since his pack was killed by my party, or that is what I think.

Quite some difference between your first submission and this one, don‘t you think so? And quite agreable to read now...
Just fix the remaining things and you can start playing....

My last weakness is that I don't think so much before making decisions, rushing everything to finish quickly.

History

Deep in a dark studio isn‘t this quite a modern word, what about study? , illuminated with a dim light from a fire place and some candles, So Orril Miés'efér writes in a book.

— Orril is intrigued and opens the door; outside is a female mage — Sorry dear, I didn’t expected someone to come this late, come in — She doesn’t wait and enters.

I grew up, hearing my parents speaking about Ximax, about how wonderful it was , and this fuelled my interest to go there

Shadow grew thinking that I was the leader (I told you not to use this word months ago!;)   of his lost pack, so he doesn’t attack me, you know.

Belongings
A spell book, a bag for reagents, another for travel, a pouch of money, cloths, a staff, and change of clothes.

Ximax rats have magical abilities, do you think they are an easy catch for a normal owl?

•Shadow: He is a wolf that I found in a trip with hunters. He was just a pup when I found him and I couldn't resist taking him with me, since his pack was killed by my party, or that is what I think.

Shadow grew thinking that I was the leader , so he respects me; he eats my leftovers, so it's not a problem to feed him.

Quite some difference between your first submission and this oone, don‘t you think so? and quite agreable to read now...
Just fix the remaining things and you can start playing....

Talia, I love you!!!:hug   Thanks for helping me, I will edit this today, in this moment, sorry, I forgot many things but yes, sure I will find another good reason to leave Ximax.

P.D, at Ximax entry there's a mention about a thief guild, I think I will use that as another reason.

Edit: READY!!! C'mon, a round of ale, I invite!!!

Quick comment...didn't read the whole thing

YOu are patient...and study your target first....yet you act rashly and do things without thinking???

Do not contradict youself orril. Tis bad

Other than that, I would mention that your strengths and weaknesses are fairly overbalanced. You are good with wind magic, have a wolf to fight for you, and you do not have any makor weaknesses so far as i can tell. Maybe somehting physically / mentally / emotionally / sexu-- (nvm) Deficient about your character would help to balance him out greatly.

**DISCLAIMER** I apologize to anyone I may have offended in the above post. I would like to assure you that was (most likely) not my goal. I would also like to assure you that the above post (again, most likely) in no way reflects the views of the Santharian boards or their webmaster, Artimidor Federkiel.

What about a bad sight??? I mean like miopy or something like that.

Added sight problem and a crazy fancy to the danger... That BTW, helps me to explain why the attack over defence.

Maybe this weakness being expanded a bit would help alot So Orril?

My last weakness is that I don't think so much before making decisions, rushing everything to finish quickly. This has at times caused some of my spells to fail and occasionally to fizzle with near disastrous consequences. I must remind myself at all times to take great caution in my incantations.

Stating this weakness like this would also open alot of doors for exciting RP experiences. IMHO

Hopefully that helps you address Pikel's concerns.:thumbup
