Title: On the way to the Zirkumire Mountains OOC
Post by: Capher on May 06, 2011, 11:29:34 PM
Started this thread so that we could talk about the next scene in our story and who is still around and willing to continue on.

I'm around and actually pretty up to date with other stories. However, I foresee the same problem now as I've been experiencing the previous chapter - I'm just too small to actually do anything to help...

I'm around, though I will likely need some inspiration to get back into it, so I may struggle with my initial posts a bit.

I'm here and of course I don't want to miss anything.. :)

However, there are some reasons why I would love to postpone the restart a bit, if that is ok with you. Or to part with the group for a short time.

I'm  tired recently, sort of  physically and psychically exhausted, often away looking after my parents (whole next week) and have just not the energy to think of a cool post, of a good idea for the plot etc.

Santhworld - I started it (wanted to see the new pic in there I have contributed) and I'm hooked. This is so fantastic! Try it out! I would like to have it finished before I start posting again, just because I have not the time to do everything.

Thanks to all of you who have answered. I believe all of our posts will be a bit...rusty. I have not played Santhworld. i do not even know where to find it. However, since you have asked Talia to finish you picture for it, then I shall honor that request, besides it will give me and the others more time to get out writing skills up to par.

Iried, you may think you are too small to help, but believe me you see things (IC) that we would miss. I would miss your character and her quirkiness.

Talia, do you think your friend is around and still willing to give it a shot?

I am not sure what has happened to Ta'las, perhaps he just became bored or is wrapped up in RL.

Talia, do perchance have any idea of when your work for Santhworld would be finished so that you would be able to think about a post?

If you did not read Teri's post, then please do so and then pray for her and her situation, or if you do not believe in prayer, at least think about her once in awhile.

Capher.

Capher, my picture is finished and already integrated, but now I need to see, how it looks ingame.

I dearly recommend to play Santhworld. give it a try, it is worth the time. You learn a lot about Santharia, you will be a strong fighter, you need your wits to solve the puzzles. A great story hides behind all, uncover it! I mean, I don't play WoW right now because of Santhworld, that tells all!

You'll find it here (http://www.santharia.com/santhworld/santhworld.htm)

Capher, I don't know, how long it will take me to get through, I have now 3400 from 7300 score, but I can't play at my parents house (where I am right now, they both had an eye-op today ) . Depends on how busy I am with my family.

Irid, we need Roosje, now , that Talia has just get to know her, you can't leave. As soon as my spirits for the Heart are awoken ? again, I'll find an important task for you!

Wasn't planning on leaving ^.^

Well, I pushed us farther in time. I hope no one minds.

Roosjie, I hope you do not mind me using your character just a bit. if you do, then tell me and I will edit.

I gave you all room to speak to one another. Talk about the estrangement between Capher and those that were trapped in the Keep, supposedly by Capher. Or whatever else you wish to speak about.

Talia, did you and your friend discuss when and where we would meet?

Is Sondirra still around?

Roosjie, you can ask whatever you want, and since your character is not one to pull punches I was giving you room to ask Capher his view, his version, to speak of, at what happened in Ximax. To interrogate him if you wish until you are either satisfied with his answers, or not, or decide to be neutral until Capher shows otherwise. I will let your character decide between the three.

I figure that throughout the journey each one of you will ask Capher questions and will have to decide for themselves what to think or do, including leaving?

Anyone know if Ta'las is still around, or tried contacting him? Will wait till Capher's watch has ended. Terra may likely take the second watch.

Well... I don't know how many places in the US may do this but if you are not looking for a NEW new computer and just something that works. See if any of the independent computer stores sell "Off-lease" or "Lease Return" systems, if it's a good place these will be business workstations a few years old. They will certainly do for getting on the Internet and maybe some future light gaming with the right upgrades.

Not sure about Ta'las.  Glad to hear things are looking up for you Teri.

Have you mailed Ta'las, Capher? I try to contact Sondirra.

So, as I'm now a "Santharian Legend"    I'm more or less back, need still some inspiration though. I will read up the stuff here now, maybe it will come!

Capher, just asking, but why are we going along the North-Eastern AAM , if we want to that lava pitch in the North? I thought this would give us the most room for rp, for it is the best described, apart from the other one. Oh, these names!

I mean the

Hlahujit ("Fire-Wombed")

Kaeryetenyim ("The Watcher")

I give in and copy/post

Territory. The Zirkumire Mountains cover the peninsula of Cha'dómm in Xaramon, with the Magic Sickle Range along the south and east side, the Wanderer Mountains along the north side, the Westrons along the west side and the Anghorth Alsae Mountains extending northward along the Cyon Sola Bay.

....
The most spectacular peak of the Zirkumires, in the Magic Sickle Range to the south, is the “Face of Khaelvan”, which the Zekormorim call “BarolRotrum” ("Father Rock"/"Lord Mountain"). However, equally famous though not as outwardly imposing is the volcanic Hlahujit ("Flame-wombed") in the northern range of the Wanderers, which holds the dramatic "Hosting Cavern" of the Zirghurim (see below). Return to the top

I must say, though looking from the territory section back to the descriptions of the individual dwarven settlements, I did not see, where the Great watcher is, in the sickle, because it looks over the Bay of Sky?

Which cavern do we want to visit, both? Both are very impressiv!
No spellcheck, have to hurry! Lunch not yet cooked and my daughter will be here soon.

Quote
Talia, I decided to go the way i did because I was intrigued with the shivering woods and at Horth I was thinking of some sort of way to add your friend if she still wants to play and is around.  Did you receive any news about Sondirra?

I contacted Sondirra, but don't know, of which friend of mine you are speaking who wants to join...

Capher, you did a great job with summoning all up for our restart! Thought I had mentioned it already, but obviously not!

Ok! I'll try to write something tomorrow, doing a little talk with Teri, but there are some questions first.

Should not Kenriil be with us?

What do we know about what happened, Capher? You rescued the three in the Keep (how?), what did you tell them? What did they tell you? How did it go, when we met all in the tavern? What does everybody believe?

I still don't understand, why we are travelling on the east side of these A... mountains, touching the Shivering Wood (we have passed it on our way to Ximax) heading for Horth. It's fine with me, but tell me why, do you have any special plans? The Z.mountains are in a totally different direction and we will have no better  path from Horth. Why not going there  via Diamond Lake?

I'll attach a small map (red: the mountains we are now, eastside, blue: our destiny)

Clever Brownie! I'll buy you a bow as soon as possible!

Title: Re: On the way to the Zirkumire Mountains OOC
Post by: Capher on June 11, 2011, 01:58:06 AM
Talia, you have brought up many questions, some of which I do not have the answer to, but i will try and answer some of them.

1. How? I rescued them by going in the same way as Eckra did when he trapped them, through the portal in the library.

2. I tried to explain to the three the dream I had and how I knew that somehow Eckra had taken my place, but all of them, though thankful that they are alive, are not sure what to believe.

3.I am assuming that each one of you had to make up your own minds after hearing their story and mine, whatever they feel, you all still decided to go to the mountains to contact the dwarfs. I am also assuming that you are all still trying to resolve any conflict's between your feelings for me, what had happened, and if you can trust anymore especially Ta'las, Terra and Sondirra. Ken does not know anything before hand and only was with me when I opened the portal and rescued the three, so I have no idea how he feels, perhaps he has changed his mind after hearing the two stories and is more suspicious of me or perhaps not because he saw the rescue. (Ken, I am sorry I forgot about you when I opened up this next chapter. I will edit it and include you.

4. The way you want to go Talia is the original plan. I am the one who got mixed up with the map and trying to find out exactly where the dwarfs are. I can edit my post to have us moving in that direction. I apologize.

5. Thanks Talia for the compliment on the restart.

6. If any of you have anymore questions or ideas just throw them out and we can discuss them before we move on. I appreciate everyone's input. Love you all.

Capher.

I'm sorry. I have a lot of catching up to do, and I haven't felt the writing inspiration much recently. And yes, Kenriil should be with you - he was following Capher originally, when I first attempted to come back.

I earnestly considered explaining where Ken was and what he was doing in that post, but then it dawned on me, why ruin it? And besides, what does it matter? The only relevant fact here is that he's talking. And this is what you're hearing if you're listening.

WB Roosjie  :)

Well it seems the only one mia is Talas.  I look forward to all of your posts. Everyone have a great holiday and summer.

BTW I will be gone from the the 27th of July till after the tenth of August. I am going to California to sing in Allan, my son, and his bride to be, Becky's wedding. He believes he found the right person and so does she. They both waited upon God for their life-long mates and God answered both of their prayers. Praise God for His faithfulness and theirs :)

Then we will have a mini vacation before heading back home.

I'm waiting for Roosjie to answer my question....

We could write Talas out until he returns. Perhaps the shock of betrayal (allegedly) made him leave or has him thinking about leaving.... i know it is a lame idea and perhaps someone could come up with something better, but I am leaving soon for my son's wedding and there is so much to do before then that I do not have the time to even think...

I only have time to read the posts, sorry. I promise as soon as I get back from my son's wedding on August 6 I will reply to all of your posts....

I am so very very happy to see that Ta'las and Sondirra are back, but concerned that the story and more importantly the players will stall waiting for me to get back. I should be back to my place by the 12 but probably not ready to post until the following the day or perhaps the next.

I love all of your posts and they are exactly what I was looking for when I threw in the false Capher.

Until I return I hope you all will have a great summer

I am back!!! First, thank you for that comment Teri, it meant a lot to me when I read it. Second, It was a great experience for me and a beautiful wedding. My son and his bride are very very happy and are still on their honeymoon. To travel to California, San Diego area gave me such a different perspective, on different cultures melding as seen in the architecture of the buildings there; a mix of Spanish, Mexican and contemporary designs.  There was a supposedly famous hotel/resort on Coronado Island that exemplified how all three melded. It was right on the beach and it was a breathtaking site. Once I figure out how to upload pictures or perhaps just a link so that you can see them I will put it here so all could see, in the meantime you will just have to take my word for everything...now I still have to unpack and do laundry. Will try and get a post up as soon as I can.

We wait with baited breath.

And not the... fish-catching kind of bait. Actually, I'm not sure what 'baited' refers to in that sentence.

Wow. I have no idea what manner of evidence Ken would have, though he was already entirely certain that the Capher he followed to the library was the real one; and as it's been the same one this whole time, he has no doubts whatsoever.

As for 'Teri... still no clue.

Title: Re: On the way to the Zirkumire Mountains OOC
Post by: Capher on August 31, 2011, 07:57:03 AM
Teri, I left it open for the players to choose whether or not they had something or knew something about the real Capher to know if the one they see is the real one or not; some may decide that they do, some may trust another that Capher is who he says he is, some may follow blindly(like Ken} ;) or others may continue to distrust, but go on with them for their own reasons or feelings. Whatever the case may be, it is up to the individual.

@Terra your last post has me a bit confused. I thought the Brownie treatment healed you and Talia completely. Or did I miss something?

Title: Re: On the way to the Zirkumire Mountains OOC

The brownies had undone a lot of the damage to her mental state. Though Terra had been taught ways to manage her condition, it remained and still did harm over time. The brownies could repair a lot of the damage, but for her it was much more like seeing a healer after being badly injured. They can only heal so much, then the body, or in this case the mind has to do the rest. Part of the cause is Terra herself, and she does not quite know how to deal with everything yet. Most of it is just her memories tormenting her,  more so now with the guilt she has been carrying since Ximax. More than likely, if she can let go of the guilt what the Brownies did will hold, otherwise the emotional strain will just continue to spawn more imagined demons and threaten her mental state again.

FYI Capher, PM has been sent.

Next up we have to see how Ta'las reacts. I doubt either will let go of their guilt easily, so time will tell if he can shed his in time to lend his strength in helping Terra let go of hers.

Things seemed to have slowed down here considerably. Are we going to be able to continue to forge on ahead?

On the other hand, things are getting busy for me. My new girlfriend who currently lives in the US will be moving up here in the next month or so, and we will be moving in together. So I am starting all my pre-moving clean up. Gathering together everything I acquired over the last year, seeing what I need, will take with me and what I can simply throw away. Till then we try to talk on the phone at least once a day, smile, laugh, call each other goofballs, and just generally be happy. Think after a few false starts I finally found the one that will share the rest of my life. :) So things are busy but good. Her family seems to be happy for her to already planning out the wedding... *Rolls Eyes.* They seem to have their priorities muddled a bit, my girlfriend and her daughters need to get settled in first. Besides I have not even be able to save enough for the engagement ring, which unless something catastrophic happens in our relationship that is unforeseen I would definitely like to give her in the near future. :) So yes, busy times ahead, getting my girlfriend and her two daughters settled in, planning for our future and keeping here parents at bay. LOL

Hope all the rest of you are well.

Weren't we also waiting for Capher to come back?

I don't remember Capher saying he would be away; still, one can't always predict. Umm...

Yeah, there's nothing from him. Still, his health is frail, if I can say that without sounding rude, and it wouldn't surprise me. No idea where Talia is, but she's busy sometimes, too.

And Sondirra, I don't think it'd be a problem if we had another parley before everyone else got back.

I'll think i'll write Capher a mail, he had recently his birthday and I fear nobody thought of congratulate him... :(
Or I missed it.

Me as well, though to be honest I have been preoccupied as of late.

None the less, Happy belated birthday Capher, hope you are well.

Anyone hear from Ta'las as of late either? I have been waiting for his response.

I hope all is well with the rest of you and that things pick up a little soon, though I suspect more and more time will be taken up by my new family when they arrive. :)

It appears Capher has needed to make a final departure due to medical reasons. I am sure he will be missed by all.

So with all  else said, can the story go on without him and how should we proceed?

Talia's been with us the longest, you, Terra, next. I think the two of you should lead in any decisions.

Let us think about the situation, wait some days.

As Drustai said, he did always come back. He is ill, has MS, that is true, but he will be not the only one who survived a stroke well and did learn how to talk/write again, do his daily chores again, if he has a problem with that at all.

I was slow in writing something for the Heart lately (as with the development board also). RL keeps me tired, physically and mentally (the mentally is the problem, I fear), but I think I cannot give up a story like this one. Not because a stroke...

We will have to write out Capher for the  moment. Let's see, if he really does not come back. If it should be so, while we approaching an end of the story (lol) , then we need to write for him.

I will write to Laurie (wrote to Capher a week or so ago) and ask her to read to him what we write, maybe that will help him to recover. I hope she (or any other person) will do that for him.

My concern is what players are active and if we can continue to move forward. Capher and I bounced a few ideas off each other about how Terra's emotional instability could be used in the story, but I am still waiting for a response from Ta'las as well that will give me a better idea on how to use these. Most other posting is slow and Christmas is fast approaching which I am fairly certain will be busy for all of us.

I myself will likely not have internet access from the 22nd or December to the 26th as I will be visiting my girlfriend and now fiance and soon to be wife, and her family for Christmas before she and her daughters move up here. It has not been fully decided I don't think if she will come back with me or wait till the new year, however we have been discussing and plan to informally get married over my Christmas visit. Though we would still like to have a formal wedding ceremony later when we are all settled. That being said it's obvious I will be adding a wife and two young daughters to my responsibilities so my time will likely be more limited as well.

I do hope all is well with everyone and that we can find a way to move ahead. I think at the vary least we should prod everyone and do a quick role call and see who is still in.

Well, Terra, of course you will be very vusy with three new family members but we don't need to hurry.
Let's think about how to solve the problems with the story without Capher and then start anew.
And yes, a rolecall is a good idea. I have a look if I have still all emails.

I'll send Drustai a PM and Ta'las a mail and then we will see, where we are standing!

I've got already an idea how to write Capher out till he might be back: He decides, that he has to leave the group to protect it, for Eckra might then focus on him and neglect the group, which might be more successful this way... any good?

That could work. May allow me to play out some ideas. Need to see where everyone stands though.
