Title: Guidelines and Help (Read Before Playing!)
Post by: Altario Shialt-eck-Gorrin on January 17, 2012, 02:40:12 PM
1v1 Role-Playing Games

One-on-One (or 1v1) RPGs are role-playing games designed for two players. Because these games take place between two characters only, you are generally allowed more freedom in these RPGs, provided both parties agree to those freedoms.

Guidelines

  • One-on-One roleplays can only include two players.
  • Your story must take place in the world of Santharia, and follow the rules of the world.
  • All role-play should be in good taste; keep in mind that this is a family-oriented board.
  • Please do not open additional threads for your story; you should not have more than one (if you need more, ask a moderator!).
  • One-on-one roleplays may be as long or as short as you wish.
  • You may participate in as many 1v1 RPGs as you like, but you must be able to keep up with them all (1v1's inactive for two months or longer may be moved to the archive).
  • Please do not submit an application until you have a partner.
  • Make sure that both you and your role-play partner agree on the rules of play before you begin role-playing. This includes:
    • The basic premise of the story--when, where, who, how
    • Frequency of posting/pace of play
    • Post requirements, including length
    • Any other details pertinent to play
Moderators do not need to know these details (except for the gist of your story), and you do not need to post them for our benefit; however, you and your partner should be clear on them before you begin.
  • Do not post in a thread in which you have not been invited.
  • There is a shared 1v1 RPG OOC, but you are not required to use it; you may correspond with your partner through whatever medium is easiest for you.

Where to begin

If you understand and agree to the guidelines, you are free to grab a partner and submit an application for your 1v1 story. If you have any questions, you may post them in this thread. Thanks, and have fun!
