What I'm really getting at is that level 8 is too high. It simply isn't fair to others. We aren't allowing Archmages for the same reason, they're more powerful and it isn't really fair. If we let one person have a more-powerful-than-normal character then everyone will start making them, which would then make it fair, but would eventually lead to Shapeshifter Archmage Demon Warriors.

6 is the starting point, at least for the trained, because that's where Ximaxian students 'graduate' and become full fledged mages. And Ximax is considered the pinnacle of magical training (except for Clerical magic).

The general powers of level 6 for Mentalism are:

Decent telekinesis (about 1 pygge. that's 100 lbs., right?)

Empathic abilities (like mind reading, but with emotions instead of thoughts)

Decent suggestive manipulation (low-level mind control, need to be able to talk and make a suggestion to work)

And there the Word of Power spell things open also.

Hope you understand. :)

I need some of the things in your last post explaining:

-"Decent telekinesis (about 1 pygge. that's 100 lbs., right?)"
What does that mean?

-"And there the Word of Power spell things open also"
Is the word of power a spell? if so what does it do?
Or do you mean the power word spells, like word of fear and word of stunning?
if thats what you mean, are there more than just those 2 and what ones would be possible to use?

Also, ive edited the magc section the the history again, so is the magic section ok and are there any other mentalism spells that i would know at level 6?

I just want to clear all the magic up now so that i can be titled.

Word of Fear and Word of Stunning are both Word of Power spells. Originally one spell, broken up.

And by the decent telekinesis thing, I mean he can lift about 1 pygge. I think that's about 100 lbs. Not sure. But 100 lbs. is what I ahd in mind.

Erm I hate to break this to you, but it appears you already have one and have done for some time.

Erm... Tarq.... are you saying no player character can be of level 8 or higher? I thought it was only a ban on archmagi...

I mean... one of my chars is level 10, and his history is being re-done and all to explain in full detail..... (though I didn't list him as being at that level when you checked, I did say he was very powerful....)

Shouldn't their level be sorta determined by their age? Those of really old age... ie mine who is 842 or something like that... I think he would have had plenty of time to get to that level.

*shrugs*

LOL!

Ah man, please say its not true!
So much changing.............so much reading through magic and working things out..........and just as i get things sorted out........:(

So, if this is right, i might change a little, but only change to level 7, make my self a bit older to make up for it and keep the same spells.
If this is wrong, am i ready for my title change??

I'm just saying that they all need to start at the same level. It's only fair. They can advance after play (but don't just post "After a bit of studying So and so reached the 10th level and -then- went out to adventure!").

And Jamalian's post right there is the exact reason that they should all start at the same level. Otherwise people will whine about how "This person go to have this level!" and "But *etcetc* so and so!"

Reasons Summary:
1.)To be fair.
2.)To make it easier on those who would have to listen to the whining.

I see..... I understand.

Well... is it alright if my char keeps his level? I mean... the whole character was supposed to be some powerful bad dude.. wouldn't really fit that category if he is only as strong as an average wizard....

Come on Tarq... you can trust me.... ^_~

How about I just finish up his history... and then you can see if it is acceptable to show how he got his powers?

The character who's level you raised after I checked it? Oh yes, that makes me trust you a whole lot.

Sorry, Dasson, no exceptions. Again, it just isn't fair.

I didn't raise it after you checked it... I just had never put it in when you did... I didn't really understand the magic system back then and didn't know about the spell levels. I never raised it, just put it in.

*sigh* So what am I supposed to do now.... hmm.....

Maybe I can start a story in where he is a youngin' and goes through his quests that raise his power level... would that work?

Well Tarq, its not that i wanna be really really powerful, but its the fact that im level 6 and i have had lots of training in my history, and there are others who have had no training who are also level 6. It doesnt make sense that someone with no training can be the same level as someone with lots of it.

Also, most of these people are new to the site and ive been on quite a while. I may not have been mentalist all that time, but still.

Anyway, am i ok for a title?
