Overview:
Darién is highly respected in the underworld working as assassin in criminal organisations.

Physical: Darién is about 1.8 peds tall. His weight is a little bit less then 2 pygge. His hair colour is black and he has two different eyes. His left eye is dark-blue and his right eye is light-blue. (The left eye looks more brighter with the shade that mostly covers Darién's face)..
A scar is visible; crossing vertically over his right eye. He wears black clothing ( Black pants and a Dark shirt; with his strong muscles naked. He has rags of leather wrapped around the wrists (like a street fighter). And also a black bandana, dancing behind him elegantly in the wind(Bandana endings are about 0.7 ped in length). Darién has something mysterious, but also creepy in his way of behavior (giving people the Shudder's for some reason..) Mostly, his face is covered in shadows from his cloak which he wears in town. Or, once he is active during the night, he has always kind of a dark shade covering his face. His right-eye, which is deformed with the scar, becomes really noticeable. He has kind of a arrogant look in his eyes; like he feels himself your superior. Darién has two swords crossed behind his back which he wears with him wherever he goes.

Personality:
Darién is a unusual intelligent man for his expertise. He is closed and silent and does not really respect life. His horrible youth combined with his twisted way of thinking made him the way he is now. A freelancer who’s only intension is to complete his job, And to make money.

His social-behaviour lacks, mostly working against him. For he is arrogant, Selfish, greedy and quickly enraged. When he is drunk (He practically lives in Inns) he is even worse; He could kill somebody for only spilling beer on him.

He has a strong will and with that he can accomplish much, He rarely panics and can take care of himself. His intelligence and physical strengths are remarkable for someone like him and he knows to deal with lots of situations. He is always aware of his surroundings; And is quickly awakened when he sleeps( which saved his life more then once!).
He also managed to develop a deep love for the forests (which might be something from his elven-nature?). He can also live alone for weeks; Hunting and entertaining himself in these woods rarely getting lost.


Strengths:

-His physical condition is formidable. He is very healthy and overly alert. Agility and strength combined with a smart intelligence make him a dangerous opponent. He can move with stealth or attack in a raging bold fury. He can be a silent assassin but also a loud-thundering warrior that is able to maim his opponent when necessary.

-He has almost spend his entire live mastering his 2 War-swords. This is in fact his specialty and gives him a advantage against single-handed sword fighters. He has multiple tricks and moves and knows to move both hands separately doing different attacks at the same time. War-swords tend to be heavy swords but Darién has managed to move and curl the blades like feathers. If there would be a known “master” in this expertise then it would be The Predator.

-Darién is also a formidable opponent when he is disarmed, He can deliver some heavy punches and kicks and moves with a supreme elegance avoiding his opponents attacks, He doesn’t go easily down; not even when the opponents do succeed to hit him. He is almost like a berserker fuelled by rage and liquor. A skill he gained from countless years of bar-fighting.

-A strange affection for the forests guided him into becoming a good hunter. He has a good memory for tree’s and will not quickly get lost there. He can be completely independent for months which is a useful advantage in his long and lone travels. When his enemy enters his district; He can become even more dangerous then he already is…

-His stubborn mind can be his strength and his weakness. His mind is stronger then his body and is not easily broken. If he sets his mind to something then he will get it done; Even when it is nearly impossible. His stubbornness also guided him trough the training together with his lust for revenge which was his motivator for almost his entire live.

-Furthermore his tendencies towards evil and his lack of respect for live also work in his advantage, For his mind is twisted and his ways of thinking or different he has no trouble progressing all of his poor victims (innocent or not) in his conscience.

Weaknesses:

He is also involved in prostitution, assassination and any other criminal activities increasing his list of enemies. There are not many who can put up with the guy; And often a brave fellow steps up to confront him. For some of the more sophisticated people he is evil reincarnated. The very reason Darién is alive is to create chaos and destruction into the civilized world.

-Bounty hunters are searching, hunting and following him to wherever he goes. With every kill the price on his head grows; resulting in new bounty hunters or brave guards to capture and terminate him. The safest place for him is in the underworld. Hanging around lowlifes and criminals in the dark alleys where the town-guard is to afraid to come. Darién leads his life always on the run.

-His stubborn mind can lead him into situations that his body can not physically handle. He often thinks to high of himself trying to take on to many opponents. Or accepting jobs that are nearly impossible. In some cases it where simple factors of luck that kept him alive.

-He hates mages and any type of magic; His mind is set to record every reasonable event; He calculates it and the outcome makes sense, However with magic it does not. He hates the things that go beyond human comprehension. He does not know what it is that mages are capable of and fears it. He does not accept a job when the target is a magician.

-He looks down upon almost everything. Especially species that are not humanoid. He looks down upon orcs and their kind as if it where dogs resulting into many conflicts. He can keep his temper tough, However he always manages to search conflict if one of the orcs makes a wrong move or gives him wrong feedback.

-His eye with the scar has been slightly damaged during his youth and can barely stand the sun. He is almost blind when the sun shines in his eye. He therefore prefers staying out of the bright lights so his enemy’s can-not exploit this weakness. If he is forced to confront his current opponent and there are bright lights; he gets quickly disorientated.

-He has an addiction to liquor and is rarely completely sober. It has slightly affected his reflexes and quick mind. And when he reaches his climax and becomes entirely drunk he passes out, looks for trouble or vomits. His enemy’s have less trouble overpowering him and every time he gets drunk he puts his life at heavy risk.

-Nightmare’s are a part of his fears. Darién has had nightmare’s for as long as he can remember. He doesn’t really remember his “dream” the next morning but he does manage to wake up bathing in sweat, headache’s and sometimes he squeezes his nails in the palms of his hands until it bleeds. The nightmare’s have grown worse and occurred more often the more he aged. The only way to prevent these “nightmare’s” from happening is to fall in sleep as a rock. Usually with the help of some liquor. The nightmare’s also explain his addiction towards liquor.


Importance :
Darién is one of the rare gifted ones. A strong tendency towards fire is present in his Car’all. However being gifted seems to neither be a strength or a weakness since he doesn’t know (or wants to know) the twisted not-understandable ways of magic. Even tough he processes the intelligence to learn if he wished to (possibly even far more quicker then the average gifted); studying books and bringing heavy burdens to the mind; Is just not him.

History: Timeline of Darién’s life

Darién is born in Voldar. His parents where on a journey to settle back into Milkingrad. A enormous unknown history has already played involving some remarkable “adventures” of his real dad and his mysterious mother. But nothing really important concerning Darién’s live. As a matter of fact the entire “charade” that has happened before Darién’s birth has already been forgotten; since there are only few alive at the current date to tell the tale. But it is told that even from before the moment he was born he managed to cause only “misery”, “pain” and “death”. Things that would haunt and surround his lifestyle and personality for the rest of his long live.

Demion Gulath {Darién’s age: ~8 to 13} 

Darién’s father was a proud Helcrani Commander who chased a criminal-guild led by Zharock the Savage. Demion Gulath took his son on his long journey trying to anticipate the criminals moves. Demion’s quest was driven by revenge because Vanessa; His elven wife (And Darien’s mother) was killed during one of the criminal’s raids. Darién was a young boy who had great love and sheer determination to aid his father. Demion teached him to wield a sword on this very young age.
Zharock’s influence grows in the nearby districts leading over 80 men and maintains powerful connections with other guilds. Their crimes grow more violent during the course of time becoming a menace for Milkengrad and it’s neighbouring towns. However Demion anticipates his arch-enemy’s next move and surprises Zharock’s force in an ambush located at the borders where the criminals attack a small town near Milkengrad. Demion and his guards manage to fend of the attack and to kill and capture their foe’s. Demion is considered a hero for the local town and he escorts the captured criminals towards Milkengrad.

Zharock the savage {Darién’s age:~13-19}

Zharock is furious when he hears the news and uses his influences with other guilds to muster new forces. Then he sets out with a number of mercenary’s to kill and destroy Demion.
Demion still travels towards Milkengrad with the prisoners but is suddenly overwhelmed by Zharock’s forces who ambush the unaware group of guards in a violent attack. The prisoners brake free and a giant chaotic battle is fought. In the madness Zharock sees Demion’s son and grabs him before he extracts himself from the fray. After a long and cunning battle the remaining criminals flee. Demion and a couple of his best men managed to survive the skirmish. Demion’s swears to retrieve his son and to slay the criminals forces; And returns to Milkengrad to let his men heal, and report the tragedy to the council.

Zharock tortures the young boy for weeks but eventually he gets bored and forgets about Darién. Darién is ordered to work as a slave for months; Working in mines, chopping tree’s and any other work that had to be done around the criminal’s encampment. This is where Darién gains his muscles and physical strength.
On Darién’s 19th age he makes his first kill. “His slave master is brutally murdered” Where he leads slaves and causes a small riot in Zharock’s camp. The men capture him and beat him to half-death.
Zharock is amazed by the boy’s bravery, sheer determination and his imposing figure on such a young age. He therefore offers Darién a choice to join the gang. Darién hates Zharock with all his heart and spits him in the face.

Becoming a member of the guild {Darién’s age: ~19 to 23} 

His personality starts to darken, He hates his father for not rescuing him, He hates these criminals who treat him like dirt, And he hates live. He lives in hell slowly making the sanity in him disappear. He “snaps” once again when a slave-master hits him for the tenth time with a whip, He grabs a wooden log and beats the man’s head into a bloody pulp. However Darién’s live is spared by Zharock who thinks the half-elf might be of some greater use.
After weeks of manipulation he manages to win the kid’s trust and recruits him into the gang.

The boy is hated by the other criminals, But protected by Zharock. Therefore Darién starts to love his current position, A token of might. He stays with Zharock who educates him using 2 swords at the same time. Darién’s gaining skills look promising and at the age of 21 he sets of in the encampment to kill his worst tormenters from his youth. Darién becomes feared and respected but also hated by Zharock’s gang. Zharock proudly looks upon him and sees the many resemblances with himself when he was at the very same age. Darién’s unlucky history slowly fades out of his mind barely remembering his father; He learns the ways of the criminals, To do business; To lead, And to complete a job.
At his 23th age he is equally respected with Zharock.

Justice! {Darien’s age: ~23 to 26}

The forests around Milkengrad became almost twice as dangerous when Darién terrorized it.
He ambushed caravaan’s stealing supply’s and treasures, He volunteered in raids on local towns and murdered those who stood in his way.
He did not valued life in any way. He only respected Zharock. And he was determined to become the next leader of the criminal’s guild. Zharock considered Darién as his son and a strange bound between the 2 was created.
However at his 26th; his live would get another twist. Demion and his guards managed to capture one of Zharock’s men. After heavy interrogation and torture he told them the secret location of the encampment.
Demion’s men surrounded the encampment strengthened by reinforcements and ambushed the camp. An enormous massacre took place where almost all of the unsuspecting criminals died. This would be the end of Zharock’s guild; For they did not stand any chance against the fully armed Helcrah-warriors with their big armours and fast horses.
Zharock managed to put up quite a fight and murdered many of the Helcrah-fighters but he eventually ended up facing Demion. A long bloodthirsty battle was fought; However Demion was slightly more skilled and managed to pierce his fierce moon-blade into the body of his arch-enemy. Zharock fell to his knees coughing up blood, And Demion finished him with a mighty swing towards the neck, Beheading him.
Darién had seen the vicious kill; but did not recognized his father. He tried to move towards the scene but several warriors surrounded him. He managed to slay seven foe’s; However a final swing aimed at his head felled him. Leaving him unconscious and marked forever with a scar over his face.

The slave woman named Luciana{Darién’s age: ~26 to 28}

The battle was over; The criminals fled, remaining ones where imprisoned and the corpses where burned. Demion’s final hopes on finding his son where lost.
Darién had managed to escape tough, He had wandered off into the forests eventually collapsing underneath a tree.
One of the slave-woman’s had also escaped during the chaotic battle and she found Darien. Luciana was her name; She was considered free now because her masters where all dead; But she had no place to go. She quickly fell in love with Darién, She nurtured him and healed his wounds hoping that he would take care of her when he got better.
Darién recovered after a couple of weeks and loved her in return. A strange relationship developed between a highly-wanted-criminal and a freed slave woman.
For almost 2 years they lived in the forests; With Darien hunting for food. Darién’s live had changed and his goal was now to take care of his lady;.. Occasionally they moved into town to purchase their needs, However at a certain night a terrible thing occurred. Darién was recognised and revealed by one of the guards; hunting both lovers to capture them. They almost got away into the forests, But then a arrow fired by one of the pursuing guards took Luciana’s life. She died in Darién arms and at this point the final remnants of sane humanity in him are gone. He leads the chasing guards who follow him into the forests eventually killing every single one of them,.. He vows revenge on their commander (who is actually his father which he doesn’t know)….


Gaining his title {Darién’s age:~28-29} 

The price on Darién’s head grows with the death of the guards. Milkengrad and it’s surrounding towns become dangerous territory’s for him.
He starts his training in the forests… He grows stronger and more agile by the week as he is driven by hate. He hunts for the most dangerous beasts; Using his own formidable intelligence and perfect condition to slay these animals. Then after 6 months he sets out into Milkengrad to satisfy his hate. He manages to infiltrate the castle during night and he finds the Helcrani Commander. He beats him to half-death but then suddenly finds out that the commander is his father. Demion tries to talk him out of the situation but without success. Darién is filled by the same passionate hate his father processed for killing Zharock. Darién beheads his father without mercy; And disappears from the heavy-guarded castle not unnoticed.
He returns towards the forests, However he has been identified at the castle and the next morning a group of warriors sets out to capture the criminal who murdered their commander. Darién uses the forests for the second time in his advantage and kills several guards. The Helcrah warriors return empty handed with heavy losses. The story in Milkengrad spreads and the civilization fears for him. This is where he gains his title: The Predator. For he is a Beast waiting in the forests to catch it’s prey.

No purpose in live{Darién’s age: ~29 to 32}

Darién is forced to leave the forests. The council of Milkengrad has put an huge price on his head; And many bounty-hunters are drawn towards it. Darién travels away from Milkengrad trough Caelereth. He visits city’s and towns where he is drawn towards the dark alleys and poorest inns. He starts to drink without having any other purpose in live then to avoid the various hunters that always seem to close in on him. He is drunk at all times and puts his live at risk every time he enters a new inn. His live is chaotic and unorganised. He slowly starts to make his way out of the Helcrah regions, He gains money by stealing from the population sometimes followed by a murder. For his sheer pleasure he involves himself in prostitution. His violent history has shaped him into an imposing figure (see pic.) of a savage criminal. He is always seen as a troublemaker and is almost known to draw the attention of the guards towards him (For example: A sudden public kill) For he has nothing to lose.
Throughout the Helcrah regions he is searched for countless murders. He is not known as Darién Gulath but as The Predator throughout the authorities.

A new career {Darién’s age:~ 32 to ~XX} 

Darién takes his first job as assassin which he completes. He keeps taking jobs in the same organisation and expands his ladder of connections. He becomes completely devoted to his job and tries to gain quickly more money in his expertise, He always works for the lowest price and therefore gets the most jobs. He is quick and efficient and builds a high status in the underworld. Darién’s list of enemies grows however his skill combined with severe doses of luck pull him trough every single job.
The thing that frightens people most is that he is half-elven, He still has hundreds of years in front of him to specialize and grow in skill even more… In some towns the Predator is already considered a fairy tale. If he continues his horrible deeds for the rest of his live he might be building up a legendary status.
