Here we go...since it was lost and I had to completely recreate it I hope my CD is OK...

Overview: A lone wolf, for the most part, with an obsession to find his parents and sister. He is capable and willing to lend his skills to others who need them, but hardly ever accepts aid from others.


Physical Appearance:
His hair is of a chestnut brown shade and extends to the bottom edge of his shoulderblades. While his bangs are roughly the same length as the rest of his hair, they are rarely seen as he pulls all his hair back and ties it loosely with a strip of green cloth at the base of his neck. His deep green eyes show the wear of years of fighting and journeying in search of something long lost. Sinen is Quaelhoirhim to the bone with his rich olive skin, high set cheekbones, and no beard growth ever visible.

Clothes:
Sinen tends to stick to a pair of trousers and tunic made of a tough, emerald green cloth. He also wears an emerald green cloak of the same material, fastened with a silver brooch fashioned as two swords crossed. In most every situation, he keeps the hood of the cloak up as to hide his identity. Occasionally, he may be seen wearing a richly made black shirt and pair of pants trimmed in silver, but usually only worn for very special occasions and most often, only among his own people. He always wears a silver band on his right hand ring finger.

Personality:
Sinen is a silent wanderer in search of what which he once lost. He is quiet, calm, and collected most of the time. What he sees in the world are a bunch of different people who struggle to get by, some that care about others, and some that will stop at nothing to cause others pain.

Personally, he prefers to be alone so that he doesn’t have to deal with what others think, say, and do. On the other hand, he has a streak of compassion that sometimes lends to his desire to help others with the things they seek and do, but more often than not, he offers his aid in hopes of finding some clue to his family’s whereabouts.

He can be light-hearted and carefree, but is most often serious about what he does. He’s the person that walks into a room and comes out with more information having not said a word than the guy who asks a bunch of questions.

When it comes to business he does what it takes to get the task complete and then asks questions about why later. He isn’t afraid to get his hands a little dirty, whether it be with soil or blood. What is necessary is after all, necessary.

When it comes time to relax, he prefers a quiet corner or the privacy of his own room, where some would rather sit around and chat. To him, such a gathering is better spent planning than relaxing. Thus said, Sinen rarely relaxes. He firmly believes the worst happens when you relax and let your guard down.

Strengths:
The Sword - Sinen is a master of the sword in both the art of offense and defense. He can wield the sword with such finesse and confidence that he is more willing to put his life behind his own sword than behind the aid of others.

Obvservation - Sinen misses very little in terms of detail. His senses became attuned from his rigorous sword training to pick up ever detail of a person’s body language. His keen observation misses nothing from the way things are in the wild to the way people behave in day to day life.

Weaknesses:
Loner - Sinen has been alone most of his life. He finds it very hard to rely on others and prefers to rely on his knowledge and skill of the sword to get by in life.

His Lost Sister - Sinen’s greatest weakness is his lost sister. While some would say this could be a strength for him it’s a weakness. He blames himself for her abduction. Mention of the incident will almost always force him to his knees. He finds it hard to live knowing he couldn’t protect her and the thought that she may be gone forever saps his will to survive. Knowledge of her existence and what happened is not something he shares with anyone and he isn’t sure he could ever handle an opponent that knows anything about her. It’s the one point where his confidence and his skill can be overridden.

Curiosity - Sinen often finds himself victim to his curiosity. This can have one of two major effects on him. The first being that he'll take up a journey just because he is curious as to what may happen. The second being that he'll find himself in situations that while not always near fatal may bring him physical harm. This may very well be why he can't keep up with trail of his sister, also it is the reason he has faced injury on numerous occasion.

History:
From the time Sinen was born he lived with his parents and twin sister just outside, and along the western edge, of the Zeiphyrian Forest. From time to time one parent or the other would leave to go explore and seek out knowledge on the forgotten mysteries of Caelereth.

At the age of 13 Sinen’s mother set out to a location never disclosed to Sinen in search of some sort of artifact. She never returned home. In the following years Sinen’s father taught him some basic swordsmanship, never enough to really do much against anyone well trained.

At the age of 15 his father received a mysterious letter slipped under the door in the dead of night. Sinen never saw what it said, but his father packed up his gear, took the letter, and set out telling Sinen only that he was going to find his mother and to take care of his sister. About a year later Sinen and his sister were visited in the night by a stranger dressed and cloaked in black. The man stated that he came to take Sinen’s sister away. Sinen tried to use the sword his father had given him to defend his sister but the man simply knocked him aside. To this day Sinen cannot remember the man ever laying a hand on him nor can he figure out what knocked him to the side so easily.

After that day Sinen went into the village and was invited to stay with a friend of his father’s.

At age 24 Sinen began to learn to handle a sword in hopes of one day going out to search for his lost parents and sister or at least the knowledge of what became of them. He progressed quickly to proficiency at the age of 28. At this point he left the village of his people to begin the search for his long lost family. He traveled here and there for several years finding no trace of them.

At age 33 Sinen met up with an elderly Tethinrhim Elf of indeterminate age who claimed to have known his father. When Sinen asked for the man's info he simply led him to a small clearing in a patch of nearby woods and told him that to obtain the info he would have to win at a duel. The man quickly proved that though Sinen was proficient with the sword he was by far no master of the blade. The man told Sinen that he would give him the knowledge only when he obtained the skill to survive long enough to reach his parents. Sinen agreed and began to train with this master of the sword.

At age 104 Sinen demanded to know where his parents are at and what had happened to them to keep them from returning home. The man looked Sinen in the eye and told him simply that he was already too close to the horrible truth and that he must be killed. The fight between master and pupil was swift with Sinen the victor. With his last breath the man told him that his parents would be found when he was ready to face his destiny. Sinen did not get a chance to get more from him before he died. From that day forward he began to search for his long lost sister and the black cloaked man. This search was met with dead ends and cold trails but at least he could find leads here and there.

At age 132 Sinen was ambushed and surrounded by orcs in the Mithral Mountains. He managed to escape death with severe injuries. He barely made it down to the foothills before collapsing. Upon awaking he found himself with an elderly elven woman and her young elven apprentice in a cottage hidden away from the rest of the surrounding world. The elder named herself Aeriela and the younger called herself Alia Locktear. Sinen spent a while there learning about different herbs and just general knowledge of forgotten lore.

At age 159 Sinen left Alia and her mentor to begin his search again. He wondered from town to town chasing long dead leads and a trail growing ever colder until now, at the age of 173, he continues to wander from place to place gathering information and offering his skills as a swordsman when money his money gets tight.

Weapons:
Sinen carries a longsword handed to him by his father. The sword measures 104 Nailsbreadth from the end of the handle to tip of the blade. The handle is gripped in black leather and has a decent sized emerald set in the end. The handle measures at 20 Nailsbreadth. The blade extends 84 Nailsbreadth in length and measures 5 Nailsbreadth in width. Cut into the blade is his last name in Elven Runes.

He carries an aged longbow made from wood from the forest near his home. This bow was made for him by his father when he was young. Its draw weight is about 90od and can reach up a distance of 2.5 dashes. (Note: He has no official training on the use of this bow. He uses it more to hunt than anything and has a difficult time hitting where he aims if he hits the target at all.)

He carries a leather quiver at his side with 20 arrows fashioned from good strong wood.

When traveling his sword and quiver are carried at his side and the longbow is fastened across his back.

Belongings:
Sinen carries with him very little besides a small pouch with his money, a bag with a blanket and some extra clothing, a small silver flute, and his weapons. He carries flint and tender for starting fire should he need to and has no need to carry food as he long since learned to hunt and forage for food. Also, he carries a small pewter skinning/carving knife.

My other thought is simply this ..... Have you checked through some of the stories you participated in for an approved version of your character? Looking through these older stories could possibly save you some time in the approval process.

first off, it is a complete rewrite. Second, I looked through the old stories but the only one that had a posted CD was a space filler when I had been working on it shortly after it was originally lost (no where near a complete CD). The other stories just had a link to the CD which obviously isn't here anymore...the one story that had the compete CD in it is not in the archives and not active anymore so the original is completely lost. No worries though, it only betters me ot go through this process again.

He sees the world as something that just is the way it is. In other words, he feels that things will be as they are and very often there is nothing anyone can do to change that. Sometimes he exihibits a little stubborn nature that drives him to change what he is sure will be as it is. The personality section is one of the most important. It tells others how your character thinks and what drives him to be who he is. A bit more depth would really help other players see this character in the same light you do.

Strengths:
The Sword - Sinen is a master of the sword in both the art of offense and defense. He can wield the sword with such finesse and confidence that he knows ("knows" makes this sound like he is invincible with his blade. A slight rewording here would make this sound a bit less godlike. Though he may be excellent with his blade, noone is ever completely assured of the outcome of a battle before it has even taken place.) he will come out the victor of any fight.

Knowledge - Sinen knows a little about almost all things but above all he is a master of listening and collecting knowledge. He learned young to stay quiet and listen so as to gather all the information he possibly could.

Obvservation - Sinen misses very little in terms of detail. His senses became attuned from his rigorous sword training to pick up ever detail from the way a person holds themselves to the very way the air shifts about them as they prepare to move. (Air does not shift "before" someone moves. Though reading body language is a major advantage to trained swordsman.) His keen observation misses nothing from the way things are in the wild to the way people behave in day to day life.

(A tenacity to drive onwards towards ones goals can be read as both a strength or a weakness. Some examples of how this has really harmed him in the past would help others see this as a weakness.)

Quiet - Again, Sinen has been alone most of his life. When he finally gives into the fact he is unable to do something alone he finds it difficult to ask others for help, instead pushing forward alone, often landing him in tough and deadly situations. (Read my above comment about obsession.)

Maybe a bit of history of who this mysterious figure is would help to clarify how this is possible.)

I am still researching if your blade is possible within the guidelines of Santharian magic. I will place my findings here, as soon as I am sure one way or another.

Ok, made some changes. For the sword, if it's not allowed I'll change it but it's far scaled back from what he originally had. It used to have a magic that killed orcs in a radius when he called on it (had harmful side effects to him depending on the intensity of the burst and such...) Obviously I decided to scale it back to something that simply confirmed to those who knew, namely his kin, that he was in fact blood relative as he claimed.

Tell me what you think about the modifications and such. Hope things are better.

sorry about that, I made the modification on my hard copy on my computer and apparently didn't transfer the change on his swordsmanship over. Take a look now. (granted I could of changed his personality to make him that arrogant to believe he will always be the victor but that would make him something I don't want him to be)

Oh, I went back and changed all the major changes to a different color. Figure that would be best for your convenience

Hello Sinen! Sorry for the slow comments. The move has created a few extraordinary issues for me and I have been busy trying to address them. But I am back in buisness here  .

The only thing I would ask presently is for you to break up the brick like post of his personality and the first part of his history. This is a bit hard on the eyes, though I did a complete read over and you are definately drawing near to a title. Once you have made these minor corrections please mail me and let me know you are prepared for a complete go over.
