Ok, maybe I shouldn't have lost my temper back there then. Apologies.

Let's go to the basics, shall we?
Going on an adventure in Santharia means you're going far away in search of treasure or anything you desire, which means you'll be hundreds of strals away from your home. Also you won't be RPing in your home unless you have a home thread in which to RP with, and it's not even up yet. So the only place you can RP is the places you can see in the forums. You'll be far from home and you won't be coming home after a long time, or even not coming back at all. So you see, going around the mountains for a few days is not a sufficient reason to go on an adventure.

EDIT: If you want to have your wife join you on your adventure, then perhaps making her an NPC would suffice? You can control your own NPC's in such a way that you can control your own familiars. For example, You took your wife with you and you left your community in search for a new mine because your previous cave is running low on resources. That is a sufficient reason enough to leave your cave. You can still return to your previous home, you know. We just need a reason as to why you left your home.

Have a nice day.

Better. See how easy it is when you understand everything a moderator would require? grin

Now all you need to do is to wait for a CD mod to check this. Maybe PM'ing them would help.

Have a nice day.

Name:Ganinon
Age:130
Gender:Male
Race:Dwarfs
Tribe:Mitharim Clan
Occupation:Smith/Warrior when needed.
Title:Smithing Warrior
Height:1 and a half ped
Weight:1 Pygge,5 Hebs,4 Ods,2 Mut.
Hair Color:Brown
Eye Color:Brown

Appearance:Ganinon is stout as are most dwarfs. He has broad shoulders, thick waist and torso, and short muscular legs. His arms are also muscular. He has brown hair that reaches down to his shoulders. What does his face look like? Is his nose big or small, does he have a beard, etc? I'm sure he does have a beard but you need to tell us everything, don't assume we know ;) If he does have a beard, do you see much of his face?

Ganinon has one distinguishing scar.It starts at the outer end of his right eyebrow and it goes down his cheek. He got this in a battle against an orcish assassin. He was making weapons for humans who were at war with the orcs.

Clothing:On a normal day Ganinon is wearing a tan shirt and some brown loose fitting pants. He wears a belt that has a sheathed dagger and his smithing hammer.and some leather boots.
During battle he wears chain mail and a silver helm lined with gold.A sword is sheathed at his belt as is his dagger. His axe,Koganthraz meaning Earthenaxe, is strapped to his back.

Personality:Ganinon is a quiet man in serious matters. He speaks mostly when spoken to.And speaks first only if needed. He has a great sense of humor. When with friends he will joke around. He enjoys music also.He is often hungry which can cause problems in battle. On a normal day though he can afford to buy most foods. Most of his income comes from smithing but battle spoils contribute to it also.

Strengths
-Built muscular, good for smithing and battle. Can chop through bones. And can flatten heated metal easily.

-Wealth, can buy most things.Father gave some money and gets income from war and smithing.

-Advanced battle training, can fight well with most weapons.Good with sword and great with an axe.

-Not picky about food, can live off bugs and animals in wilderness.Good if he get lost during a battle. He gets lost during battles? Wouldn't he just have to go back to where all the noise is? I'd say he has more chance of getting lost while he's travelling...

Weaknesses
-Bad knee, has trouble kneeling and switching it from 90 degrees to 180 degrees. For myself, I think I'd get the picture better if you say 'changing its position from bent to straight'. Does this also count the other way around? Does it hamper his walking?
Slightly hampers him in battle.

-Dislikes water and can't swim.If he falls in water he would need to be rescued or would surely die.

-Hunger, even in battle he gets hungry but can ignore it for a some time.May distract him during battle.

-Can't ride a horse because of his size.Takes a long time to travel if he has to travel.

History:Ganinon had 2 other brothers. As likely as humans have twins, he is part of a triplet. They were all identical, which becomes important later in his life.Ganinon is the youngest of the three. His mother died shortly after giving birth to him.His father had to name them and take care of them.

Ganinon soon took an interest in smithing. He liked to play with his father's hammer as a child. His father, seeing the interest in smithing, talked to Ganinon about it and gave him a bit of training by the time he was 45 he could smith as good as an apprentice to a real Smith. When Ganinon was about 65 his father became ill and eventually died. Before he died though he split his money between his three sons and gave Ganinon Koganthraz. He said when he was about Ganinon's age his father gave him Koganthraz.Ganinon knew how stubborn his father was and took the axe gratefully.

Soon afterward Ganinon deiced to begin his apprenticeship. His teacher was called Kazen.Since Ganinon was sharing a small room with his brothers, Kazen decided to let Ganinon live with him until he became a smith.Kazen taught Ganinon well and Ganinon could smith like a real smith by the time he was 87.Kazen then began to teach him more advance smithing.By 100 Ganinon could smith like an expert.

At 92 Ganinon got married. His wife's name was Lumen. In the next few years from present time they plan to have children. He enjoys spending time with his wife when ever he can. You could liven your cd just a little bit by looking up how dwarves get married and then applying it to Ganinon's situation and telling us how this happened.

His eldest brother died soon after that. He died in a battle against orcs. The orcs were at war with the humans and were trying to take out a primary weapons supplier. Thats when Ganinon became a warrior.Since he was muscular he became a great warrior and received advance training from a friend of Kazen, Dumir.Dumir was a great warrior when he was younger. But during one battle he lost his left hand. This was his fighting hand and he could not fight well enough with his right hand to continue being a warrior. And thus started training future warriors.

Later his other brother died from an arrow wound. He was talking with some friends when an assassin shot him, mistaking him for Ganinon. Some how the orcs knew Ganinon was a great smith and wanted to stop him from providing weapons for the humans. Why would he supply weapons for humans? A few days later an assassin attacked Ganinon and thats when Ganinon got his scar.Ganinon fought with his dagger and slowly made his way back to his home.He then got Koganthraz and sliced the orc's left leg off and the orc fell to the ground. He then beheaded the orc.He was going in search of a new mine with his wife because resources were running low. Could you put this in the right order? First searching for the new mine, then being attacked, etc.

Now at 130 Ganinon is continuing to be a smith and warrior.he is receiving more training and should be a expert in battle soon.He also plans to take an apprentice soon and should be able to make somefine smiths. And he plans to have a child soon.He will give Koganthraz to the child or if he has more than one he will give it to the one interested in smithing if any.He also plans to train teach his son smithing as his father did. I think you'd need a reason for him to travel. Our stories take place above ground, you see ;)

Belongings:Ganinon has a traveling pack that he keeps dried meat and a blanket in.He also carries a small sack with money in it.He doesn't carry around a lot of his money, but he is slightly wealthy. His smithing earns him most of it, but battle spoils contribute too. And attached to his pack is a water canteen.

Weapons:Ganinon has a sword,a dagger, and Koganthraz. He also has his smithing hammer with him at all times which can be used as a weapon but also can be used in other scenarios

All right, there you go. I hope I helped you a little :)

Trading weapons to the humans is possible to the Mitharim, as they are the ones who are the only tribe with trading relationships with humans. For more questions, look at the entry about the Mitharim Dwarves.

Personality:Ganinon is a quiet man in serious matters. He speaks mostly when spoken to.And speaks first only if needed. I just want to mention here that while there is nothing wrong with having a quiet character, you have to stay true to his personality while role playing. So it would be entirely out of character for him to carry on a long conversation with someone. By all means keep him quiet, just keep that in mind. He has a great sense of humor. When with friends he will joke around. He enjoys music also.He is often hungry which can cause problems in battle. On a normal day though he can afford to buy most foods. Most of his income comes from smithing but battle spoils contribute to it also.

-Hunger, even in battle he gets hungry but can ignore it for a some time.May distract him during battle.

History:Ganinon had 2 other siblings. One brother and a sister.

At 89 he began work on his new cavern to impress the dwarfmaids.3 moths before the Age of Choosing he finished. After he finished every night he polished his sword and washed his beard. At 90 Ganinon got married. His wife's name was Lumen. But she disappeared when Ganinon was resisting his assassination. This doesn't make much sense to me. Why would an assassin target Ganinon? Assassins are usually hired by the wealthy, so who among them hated him?

His eldest brother died soon after that. He died in a battle against orcs. The orcs were at war with the humans and were trying to take out a primary weapons supplier. Santharia has been at peace for centuries, so there aren't any wars currently. The most you can have in your history are orc raids. But you're in the wrong territory to be dealing with orcs. Most orcish tribes live in Northern Sarvonia, not Southern. There are certainly none near the Mitharim. Also keep in mind that the dwarves live underground in well defended caverns.

Later his sister died from an arrow wound. She was talking with some friends when an assassin shot her, mistaking him for Ganinon. Again, explain why he was targeted. The orcs knowing he was a great smith doesn't really work since there are no orcs nearby and no current wars. You need a more personal reason than that, someone in particular that hates him. Some how the orcs knew Ganinon was a great smith and wanted to stop him from providing weapons for the humans.A few days later he was going in search of a new mine with his wife because resources were running low.An assassin attacked Ganinon and thats when Ganinon got his scar.Ganinon fought with his dagger and slowly made his way back to his home.He then got Koganthraz and sliced the orc's left leg off and the orc fell to the ground. He then beheaded the orc.He couldn't find his wife afterward.

Now at 130 Ganinon is continuing to be a smith and warrior.he is receiving more training and should be a expert in battle soon.He is planing on trying to find his wife after his training. He has no idea where to start so he is just going to travel around and search.Staying in each city long enough to search for his wife and to get provisions for his next trip.

You don't have to rewrite your history. Just keep a couple of things in mind.

A) There really are no tribes that are currently raiding or fighting the Mitharim. They live in a peaceful area in these peaceful times. However, there will always be crime. So instead of orcs you could have bandits or any other unsavory outlaws of your choice.

B) Don't think war, think skirmishes, isolated conflicts between two sides. If you do go with bandits, then a war against them wouldn't make sense anyway.

Your assassin could even be one of the bandits. It would make sense for them to want to get rid of Ganinon considering the asset he is to the Mitharim, the people they're trying to raid. Just a suggestion though.

Hello dwarf brother. it feels good to comment on a dwarf's CD! grin
A comment from the Ironforge Pyromancer, in the burning color of red.

Take note I'm only commenting on your history, since everything seems to be working good.

History: Ganinon was born in the Mitharim Mountains near Kor Mithrid. He had an older brother and a younger sister. They were born as a triplet. Ganinon was only a few minutes behind his older brother and a few minutes ahead of his sister. His sister’s name was Juhun and his brothers name Hejek. His mother died soon after giving birth to Juhun, living just long enough to name her children.(Choppy sentences, but that would not be a major problem at all.)

At a young age Ganinon took an interest in smithing. His father was a fine smith and had a few hammers lying around. Ganinon always liked to play with these. His father, seeing the interest in his middle son’s eyes, gave some minor training to Ganinon when he was old enough to understand him. His son drank in this knowledge and could smith moderately by age 45.

At 50 his father became ill and died a year afterward. Before he died though he called upon his children and split his money among them. He also gave each of them a personal item which he knew they would love. He gave Ganinon Koganthraz, meaning earthen axe, Juhun her mother's locket, and Hejek a long sword. He told them that if they wanted anything else of his to take it and the rest should be sold and the earning split between them.

At 55 Ganinon became an apprentice to Kazen, a well accomplished smith. Ganinon was already a moderate smith so Kazen trained him more advanced smithing. Ganinon continued to learn from Kazen until 80. At which time he began work on a cavern for his Age of Choosing.

He started this cavern early so he could make it as impressive to the dwarfmaids as possible without being rushed. He finished it with 2 years to spare. He then started to decorate it and finally got it the way he wanted it to be with only 6 months to spare. He then took 3 months rest from the Age of Choosing labor. When there was only 3 months before his Age of choosing, he washed his beard every morning and night and put oils in it.

When his Age of Choosing finally came a dwarfmaid named Lumen chose him. He then married her and spent 30 years with her. Those were the happiest times of his life.

When he was 100 he decided to become a warrior like his brother. Since he was so muscular he became a great warrior and received advanced training from Dumen, a friend of Kazen. Dumen was a great warrior but during one battle he lost his right hand. This was his fighting hand and he could not fight well enough with his left to continue being a warrior. Dumen then decided to train future warriors.

But then when he was 119 he and Lumen went searching for a new cavern. The supplies in this old cavern were running low. When they were above ground a thief decided to try and steal from them. The thief was gnomish and very hard to hit. Ganinon fought with his dagger for a long while. The gnome finally caught Ganinon along the face with a dagger. This was when Ganinon got his scar. Lumen seeing the blood ran away from the fight(You could add more explanations such as Lumen thought that Ganinon died and thus ran away for fear of the thied going after her.). The thief ran away soon after that.(Why would he make a cave and then leave it in search for a new one?)

Ganinon then search for his wife for a few days and when back underground, thinking she would be there. He couldn't find her, he even asked some friends of hers if they had seen her. They hadn't seen her and thought she was with him. He grieved for a year and his sister finally said she probably ran into a city, and he should go look for her. He took her advice and left.

Now at 120 he is searching for his wife. He plans to go into each city ask if they had seen a dwarf and see if she was there. Hopefully if she isn't there she might have said where she was going next.

And there you go. Wow, you're getting close. Keep on it, and soon enough we would be RPing together. grin grin
Have a nice day.

What kind of supplies? Keep in mind that the Mitharim can produce their own ores (provided that their mines are still full of them), their own food(they grow them) and water(They have underwater pools).

Mitharim mountains should be Mithral mountains.
