Half-elf, Sanhorrhim/ Erpheronian

« on: April 05, 2008, 01:04:47 AM »

Name: Araevin Irindis

Gender: Male

Race: Half-elf

Tribe: 75% Human, 25% Sanhorrhim

Age: 43 (Looks 31 years of age with approximate knowledge and training of a 43 year old human)

Height: 1 Ped, 2 Fores, 1 Palmspan

Weight: 1 Pygge, 2 Hebs

Occupation: Fire Mage (level 4)

Title: Firemancer

Overview:

Araevin Irindis is a level 4 fire mage. Vain, orderly and intensely arrogant, the half-elf views himself as a cut above the average peasant or noble. He has a taste for fine clothes, fine wines and fine women. He is descendant from human stock from his mother and fathers' sides of the family, as well as some elven blood from his mother. Araevin is a devoted follower of the Avanian god Etherus and is a member of the Everbright Cult. He craves order, minds his style and lusts after power. His goal in life is the mastery of the fire element. Despite his flaws, Araevin is a powerful battle mage and skills can be used in the most destructive of ways. He flaunts and uses his magic to compel and intimidate others to respect and follow him.

Appearance:

Irindis seems to have inherited all of the finer appearances of his bloodline and none of the blemishes. Although his elven heritage is minor, the mage favors the qualities of the elven dress and mannerisms. His skin is as the color of fine alabaster, smooth with nary a wrinkle or mark. With piercing green eyes like the shade of a fine emerald, Irindis is capable of striking an intimidating stare, which is pretty much all of the time, and rarely does his gaze fall upon those not of his own importance. His ears are slightly pointed, as befitting of his elven blood, with no manner of jewelry to be seen upon him.

Irindis's hair is equally light in color, a pale urmarillion, straight and thick, falling down to the middle of his back. He typically ties it back with a crimson colored cord and has never been known to have it any shorter than shoulder length. When casting a spell, his hair sometimes casts a reflection from the flame giving the hair a brilliant korwyn gold glow.

The mage typically wears as fine a robe as he can afford, usually purple or crimson in color. Around his waist he wears a black sash, tied at his hip, that flaps loosely as he strides confidently wherever he goes. He wears very little armor of any kind as he would never fight anything up close, preferring to simply incinerate his enemies from afar.

When Irindis walks, he strides with long, confident steps. His staff, ever present in one of his pale hands, taps the ground with a barely discernible noise. His footsteps are light and sound as a whisper on the ground. His boots are made of fine leather with heavy soles, usually matching his robes in color.

Personality

Irindis possesses the proud and arrogant aspects of his high-minded human bloodline, while also having the fickle and vain qualities of his elven side. As a follower of Etherus, Araevin craves the pleasures of life and tends not to settle for any one position of power or loving companion. Fire magic is his true love and focus and gives him a means to rise above lesser people (ie non-magi).

Irindis sees himself as extremely intelligent, focused, controlled and important. And, these traits are all present within the half-elf, and Irindis will not keep it a secret that he likes to be in control of any situation. He knows he is attractive in appearance and he wears fine clothing to further make his image appealing to others. His power with magic is his chief area of pride as he views himself above all other lesser peasants and commoners. He knows his power over others tends to intimidate and therefore he seeks respect through fear. He is flashy with his magic, always parading about, carrying his staff, tipped with a bit of flame or brightly glowing so as to impress upon others that, yes, he is indeed a fire mage and worthy of respect.

Towards other races, Irindis has a high minded view of elves and humans (especially Erpheronians) most of all. Of the elves, he sees himself possessing of their elegant grace and wit and notes that his physical appearance is chiefly elven quality, from his alabaster colored skin to his fine, delicate facial features. Of his human side, he sees his own sense of importance and is indebted to his human family for his wealth and upbringing. He views all other non-human and non-elven races with much less respect simply because they do not possess the beauty of the elves nor the passion of the humans.

Concerning family, Irindis is deeply loyal to all of his family and those he deems worthy of alliance. He abhors betrayal of any kind and will fight for his family's honor whatever the cost. To make an ally of the mage is truly an exquisite feat and gift, according to him, and he will likewise return the favor of his loyalty. Of his family, he respects his Erpheronian father the most. He respects his father's own skill with fire magic and holds his father's ideals closely. His mother's side of the family (the half-elven side) he really never knew, but he respects his mother's dedication to Etherus and the Sanhorrhim's rich seafaring culture.

Irindis is a lawful man and would never think to break the laws of a government or country unless it directly conflicts with his own views. Of the Erpheronian or elven laws, he directly respects and honors. Order and detail are rules to live by according to the mage. An orderly life and focus is tantamount to success. Attention to detail and micromanaging the minor areas of one's life are the only ways to truly achieve what you desire.

Araevin holds his own sexuality as something very important to him. He is an attractive man, gifted with both elven and human grace and stamina. He usually has little problem with courting females of human blood and he is known to have had many consorts over his lifetime. He is rarely without a female sharing his bed, if only for a night, as he desires comfort that only physical pleasure can bring. He is emotionally distant, however, and never has committed himself to a relationship for longer than a year. He sometimes uses his magic to further inflame the lusts of his potential lovers. One of his greatest fears is to grow old or diseased and become unattractive to the opposite sex. Thus, he is careful to maintain a rigid regimen of exercise and healthy eating.

Religious Beliefs

Irindis reveres and worships Etherus, the Avanian fire god of excess, desire and lust. The mage is a haughty and proud man and holds his wealth and abundance of sexual energy as a means of gaining respect and control over others, along with his talent and skill in fire magic. Thus, the edicts of Etherus holds special meaning for Irindis as the god represents not only desire and lust but is also one of the three fire gods. Each day, the mage prays to the god of desire for further blessings over his wealth and magnificence. Irindis sees himself as a worthy disciple of the god and would have no doubt found a place as a cleric of Etherus had he not found his love for magic to be a greater destiny.

As a devoted Ethelian, Araevin has become quite addicted to the effects of fine wine and Ethelian weed. In order to escape the sometimes drudgery of commoner life, Araevin keeps a generous amount of Ethelian weed on his person and eats bits of in order to relax himself. During certain occasions, he joins fellow Ethelians in ritual in the temple to consume the weed and wine in order to truly ascend the heights of mental consciousness. The effects of the weed over long periods is not fully understood, but the addictive qualities of the plant are not easily dismissed.

Magic

Irindis is ever the diligent, studious and some would say (to his obvious delight) a brilliant student of the fire element. He views magic as a way to command allegiance and obedience over others. As such, he practices flashy and bright fire magic with which to impress or intimidate others. He finds some practical applications for his magic at times, but more often than not, he mostly wants the attention and praise from everyone around him and uses his skills as a means to earn it.

Physical Representation

Irindis is chiefly a practitioner of the physical representations of Sphere I magic with some mastery of physical Sphere II as well. His typical spell usage involves displays of light, flame and heat.

Of the physical representation of Sphere I, he enjoys the command of the flame most of all. Light is his ally and he enjoys displaying his injr'tr, or sun staff, as he calls it, with bright light or a bit of flame dancing at the tip. His personal studies of Sphere I include command of the size and intensity of flame. His studies have garnered him praise for his masterful control of flame to where he is able to start or quell several sources of flame at once.

However, Irindis's personal pride is his skills with Sphere II. It is here that he makes the most of his studies and yearns to master all that he can of the Sphere of Ignition. His Injr'tr, or Sun Staff, functions as a conduit of his magic. Although the staff itself is not enchanted in any way, Irindis maintains a certain focus with the instrument concerning some of his better developed spells. Perhaps his best known spell usage with the staff is the fireball.

The Injr'tr (Sun Staff)

The Injr'tr is a rod made of red birch and is slightly shorter than 2 peds in height. It is finely decorated with exquisite designs and Styrash lettering. The tip of the staff holds a brilliant ruby stone approximately three nailsbredths in height and width. It is through this crystal that Irindis focuses his light and flash spells. This staff is always held at Irindis's side and functions as his conduit for some of his spells. He primarily uses it for five types of spells:

 - Heat - By manipulating the fire ounia within the staff, Irindis can create simple warmth for himself when needed. The intensity of heat can vary from low warmth to intensely hot if desired.

 - Light Irindis draws the ounia to the staff's crystal tip and activates the light property to create light of various intensities. He doesn't favor the darkness and uses this light source at all times at night or in dark or shady places.

 - Flame - Much like the light spell, Irindis draws fire ounia from the surrounding air at the tip of the staff and gets it so hot so as to create a bit of flame. He then strengthens the fire ounia to create various sizes and shapes of flame such as a long thin arm of flame or a fan of flame that expands out to incinerate a group of enemies.

 - Flash - This spell functions much like the light spell, but requires a bit more focus. When the ounia is gathered at the tip of the staff, Irindis strengthens the light property in greater and faster way so as to produce a quick, very bright flash of light so as to temporarily blind or distract those who view it.

 - Firebolt - Irindis can produce a projectile of flame from the tip of his staff by gathering and condensing the fire ounia surrounding the air at the tip of the staff and heating it until it reaches a point of flame and then he releases it to travel forward. The sizes of firebolts he can produce are no larger than his own fist and he is able to produce up to six firebolts per minute. If engaged in a combat situation, the firebolt would be useful if given enough time and distance for which to launch them. However, under closer quarters, the firebolt would have little use and the Flame or Flash spells would work better.

Spiritual Representation

Irindis's practice of the spiritual representation of the school of fire magic is not as well practiced as the physical side, but he does secretly use certain spells to further his control over others. These spells are used over the weak minded individual as Irindis realizes his control over more powerful wills is not yet possible.

The practice of manipulating someone's emotions is something that has drawn Irindis since he was a child. His inflated view of himself rarely allows him to view lesser people (i.e. non-mages) as equals. When he finds a female that he desires, he will typically increase the fires of her desire over him and thus Irindis gains a compliant and faithful mate, even if for a night. He enjoys this kind of control.

A second method of his use of the spiritual representation involves the creation of fear in an enemy. Irindis will not hesitate to make those he feels as unworthy to fear him. When he manipulates the fear in another person, Irindis gains yet another element of control over others.

Strengths

Fire Magic - Irindis is a level 4 fire mage and skilled in the control and use of flame, heat and light. He uses his flashy magic as an instrument of control over others and to demonstrate his power openly. The skills he possesses when fully focused with his Sun Staff are staggering.

Appearance - Irindis is a handsome, flawless looking man by any race's measure. His clothes are tidy and free of spot or wrinkle. His hair is long and luxurious and his skin is perfectly blemish free. His body is not as frail as it looks as his rigid discipline made him not only exercise his mind but also his body.

Astute - Irindis is highly intelligent and in particular he is wise to the ways of the world and its workings. He has an excellent grasp of diplomacy and the inner workings of government. He can navigate among the wealthy and powerful with ease and is comfortable among powerful and influential figures.

Weaknesses

Arrogant - Irindis is a deeply arrogant and high minded man. He never considers the lower class of people and dismissed those that he feels are not of his noble ilk. Anyone not a mage he considers weak and limited and pays them little respect. As such, he tends to make enemies easily.

Fickleness - The life of Araevin is one brief moment after another. Rarely does the mage stay in one place for long, commit to one woman more than a few days or speak of one topic longer than a heartbeat. Only concerning his magic does Araevin keep a steady focus in mind and body. And, of course, the mage never grows tired of anything concerning himself.

Compulsive Liar - As a further means of control and in order to inflate his already large ego, Araevin can do not wrong, and if he does, he lies about it. He has no morals about deceiving anyone to get what he wants. This has gotten him trouble many times before as me makes promises he never intends to keep thus angering those he promises to. He never feels honest enough to really admit any wrongdoing. After all, he is above most other commoners and doesn't feel he owes them any kind of honesty. Little does he know that often this can come back to haunt him.

Overconfidence - Irindis is supremely confident in his skills and potential and argues that fire is the most powerful element of all. He thinks of himself as one of the premier practitioners of fire magic and lets everyone around him know it. His faith in his skills has gotten him out of sticky situations before, but it won't be long before someone, somewhere, will finally deflate his overconfidence, in perhaps a deadly way.

Addictions - Araevin possesses a powerful addiction to fine wines and Ethelian weed. The love of both began in his childhood raised in the Ethelian temple with his mother. The weed is consumed in small amounts during rituals to the god of excess, but Araevin has taken the use of the weed to all new levels. He keeps a pouch of the weed with him at all times and regularly consumes it during the day. He claims the weed relaxes him in order to be able to tolerate daily life. He pays exorbitant amounts of coin to procure the weed and becomes oft times violent if he does not have it.

History:

Birth - Irindis was born to young, unwed parents on the 30th day of Singing Bird, 1625 a.S. in the city of Ximax. His mother, named Illyra, was a half-elven Sanhorrhim cleric of Etherus and his Erpheronian father was a nobleman's son and a young mageling student of the fire element. Irindis's father met his mother while a student at the Academy and she being a young priestess at the local Etherus shrine in Ximax. The two shared a love of the fiery passions of life and engaged in a brief and torrid affair. Irindis was born shortly after, however, his parents did not stay together after his birth.

Childhood - When young Irindis reached 10 years of age, his mother (a half-elf who had been raised by humans) developed other relationships with fellow clerics and became deeply involved in the church. Often times, Irindis was left to himself or with a distant relative for care while his mother and her consorts worked long hours in the temple entertaining guests and throwing lavish parties in Etherus' name. She grew emotionally distant from her son and left him more and more in the care of other clerics while she and her lovers bandied about in excessive frivolities.

Irindis soon realized that his mother was slowly abandoning him in favor of her work and companions. His service to the temple was exemplary and he could have risen high in the ranks of the clergy, but he grew ever bored and sought other adventures around Ximax. He came to know the city quite well and soon earned a job as a courier for several local merchants. It was during this time he began to question his heritage and who his father was. Araevin's mother provided no answers, and bid him to remain focused on temple work. The boy would not listen and yearned to know more of his family outside of the temple.

By this time, Irindis's father had become an accomplished fire mage and how surprising it must have been for him to find his long lost son standing on his doorstep one cold morning. The two came to be acquainted and bonded quickly. The elder mage sought to interest his new-found son in the art of magic. Like most Erpheronians, his father was a proud man and profoundly arrogant, and powerful in his chosen element. Irindis, tired of his inconsistent life thus far, clung to his father's ideals and developed a similar temperament of arrogance and inflated sense of self worth.

Due to his age, Irindis was not allowed to enter the Ximaxian Academy of Magic until at least his 13th birthday so in order to pass the time of the next few years, his father took him to the Erpheronian homeland, to the city of Voldar, where Irindis's relatives lived. His human family took him in and accepted his racial heritage much to Irindis's relief as he had never been fully accepted within his mother's elven family. The boy lived among his human relatives, who were mostly minor, but wealthy nobles and merchants, until the age of 13. Like his father, Irindis's other relatives also carried with them the proud heritage of the Erpheronians and the young half-elf further came to think of himself as above all others due to his heritage and powerful family.

Ximax Academy of Magic - Araevin's father used his influence and family wealth to enroll his son in the Academy. He lost his son once and was not about to lose him again. His goal was to not only train his son in the wonders of magic, but also to be able to maintain a relationship and closeness to his only child. Irindis had alot of initial influence by his father's own element of fire.

Irindis enrolled in the Red Tower, the chief learning facility of the element of fire. He took to his studies with immense order, detail and structure. His focus was the fire element and he enjoyed the destructive power of fire. He instead preferred to take the chaos of fire and order it to his will. He found that controlling the chaos was a challenge that he enjoyed practicing. For this, he found that a conduit of some kind was needed to help him focus and tightly control the element according to his will.

The Everbright Cult - A promising student of the fire element rarely slips by the notice of the watchers of the Everbright cult. It was during Irindis' time of practice alone in the fire tower one evening when he was approached by a young human woman cloaked in a brilliant orange robe. Irindis was immediately smitten by the girl's beauty and instinctively engaged in playful flirting with her. The woman, silently presented Araevin with a small golden-colored amulet in the shape of a flame. Without any words, she turned and left Irindis' presence. Taken aback, the mage examined the amulet with a wary eye and found words written on the back of the trinket. They said "Mystic fire, flame of might, underground, share a sight".

Irindis took perhaps three days of study to interpret those words. He found rare tomes relating to "mystic fire" and "flame of might" and they all directed him to the mage known as Anilya the Everbright. The term "underground" was a bit of a mystery, until he found some historical texts relating to the Volkek-Oshra and Anilya. They worshiped her in their underground catacombs beneath Ximax. Perhaps the girl was directing him to the Anilya shrine? Without wasting any more time, he found his way to the main orcen lairs hidden under an old stone archway in northern Ximax. After several minutes of exploring, he soon became lost and directionless.

It was then that the robed girl appeared again from the depths of the shadows and took Irindis' hand. All the mage could do was stare at her as she led him to a large room. An altar stood within lit in flames. All around the circular room were sconces of fire. The heat was intense, but he ignored it and focused on the altar and the wall engraving of Anilya behind it. "Welcome to the Everbright haven," the girl smiled. "You know why you are here." Irindis knew. His soul was overjoyed at the power that filled this room. He had found a home with the cult.

The Injr'tr (Sun Staff) - Irindis found an excellent conduit and instrument for his focus. He bought a relatively cheap piece of light weight metal and hired a blacksmith to form a rod from the piece. Over the next few years, he worked on the design of his new staff by decorating it with elven words and etchings and crimson colored designs. He took to learning and practicing casting spells using the tip of the rod as a focal point. When he could see and hold a conduit in his hands and manipulate the ounia within, or the air surrounding the tip, he found it easier to cast spells. Thus, he used the staff to focus various spells, chiefly Heat, Light, Flash, Flame and Fireball.

Leaving the Academy - Irindis spent a total of 25 years in the Academy learning all he could of fire magic. He never thought to leave until his father, who had become a trusted fellow mage as well as a real father to Irindis, suddenly had taken leave of the Academy to journey back to Voldar. It seemed that the family merchant business was under heavy debt and the death of all of Irindis' uncles meant that his father was the sole caretaker of the estate's wealth and property. Araevin joined his father on the journey to Voldar and assisted with taking care of the family wealth for over a year. Once the estate's affairs were settled, Irindis took his leave from the family business and journeyed back to Ximax to begin further studies into fire magic.

Kyrre seems to have inherited all of the finer appearances of his bloodline and none of the blemishes. His skin is as the color of fine alabaster, smooth with nary a wrinkle or mark. With piercing green eyes like the shade of a fine emerald, Kyrre is capable of striking an intimidating stare, which is pretty much all of the time, and rarely does his gaze fall upon those not of his own importance. His ears are slightly pointed, as befitting of his half elven blood, with no manner of jewelry to be seen upon him.

Kyrre's hair is equally light in color, pale blonde, straight and thick, falling down to the middle of his back. He sometimes ties it back with a crimson colored cord and has never been known to have it any shorter than shoulder length. In fact, Kyrre takes great pride in his hair and often commands one of his many female sycophants<--If he has servants they should be listed under strengths. to comb it over and over again while he studies or eats.

Kyrre typically wears as fine a robe as he can afford, usually purple, crimson, white or orange in color. Rarely does he wear anything dark colored as he craves light and flame and dark clothing is simply not as noble. He wears little armor of any kind as he would never fight anything up close, preferring to simply incinerate his enemies from afar. And, he views tight fitting clothing as interfering with his spell casting as he is unable to make the exaggerated hand movements he requires.<-- Magic doesn't necessarily require hand movements. In fact many of them do not unless specifically mentioned in their entry.

Personality

Vain, arrogant, conceited and proud. Thus describes the personality of Kyrre Valoryn in many ways. This is partly due to his upbringing in the home of an equally proud Epheronian mage and noble and partly due to his own skills with magic.

Concerning himself, Kyrre sees himself as extremely intelligent, focused, controlled and important. He knows he is attractive in appearance and he wears fine clothing to further make his image appealing to others. His power with magic is his chief area of pride as he views himself above all other lesser peasants and commoners. He knows his power over others tends to intimidate and therefore he seeks respect through fear. He is flashy with his magic, always carrying his staff, tipped with a bit of flame or glowing brightly so as to impress upon others that, yes, he is indeed a fire mage and worthy of respect.

Towards other races, Kyrre has a high minded view of elves and humans (especially Erpheronians) most of all. Of the elves, he sees himself a part of their elegant grace and wit and notes that his physical appearance is chiefly elven, from his alabaster colored skin to his fine facial features. Of his human side, he sees his own sense of importance and is indebted to his human family for his wealth and upbringing. All other races are viewed with less respect and especially orcs are distained and reviled by him. He never understood how such a barbaric race as the orc could even conceivably practice fire magic as the Volkek-Oshra do. Thus he views that particular tribe as competition and unworthy of the power of the flame.

Concerning family, Kyrre is deeply loyal to all of his family and those he deems worthy of alliance. He abhors betrayal of any kind and will fight for his family's honor whatever the cost. To make an ally of Kyrre is truly an exquisite feat and gift, according to him, and he will likewise return the favor of his loyalty.

Kyrre also respects law and order and would never think to break the laws of a government or country unless it directly conflicts with his own views. Of the Erpheronian or elven laws, he directly respects and honors. Any laws of the orcs are dismissed as barbaric and Kyrre feels no compulsion to honor such edicts as those from orcs.

Order and detail are rules to live by according to Kyrre. An orderly life and focus is tantamount to success. Chaos and disarray have no place in a proper life.<--As fire is considered a 'chaotic' element this sentence seems off target with what you have written IMHO. Attention to detail and micromanaging the minor areas of one's life are the only ways to truly achieve what you desire.

Magic

Kyrre is ever the diligent, studious and some would say (to his obvious delight) a brilliant student of the fire element.

Kyrre is chiefly a practitioner of the physical representations of Sphere I magic with some mastery of physical Sphere II as well.

However, Kyrre's personal pride is his skills with Sphere II. It is here that he makes the most of his studies and yearns to master all that he can of the Sphere of Ignition. His Injr'tr, or Sun Staff, functions as a conduit of his magic. By using the open ended circular tip of his staff, he wills the ounia in the air between the tips of the staff to super hot levels creating a flame where he launches it forward. In essence, he can deliver projectiles of flame using his staff. Of course, he is capable of doing this without the staff, but he enjoys using the staff as a means of impressing upon others his power.

The Injr'tr (Sun Staff)

The Injr'tr is a metallic rod slightly shorter than 2 peds in height. This staff is always held at Kyrre's side and functions as his conduit for some of his spells. He primarily uses it for five types of spells:

 - Heat - By manipulating the fire ounia within the staff, Kyrre can create simple warmth for himself when needed. The intensity of heat can vary from low warmth to intensely hot if desired.

 - Light Kyrre draws the ounia to the tip of the staff and activates the light property to create light of various intensities. He doesn't favor the darkness and uses this light source at all times at night or in dark or shady places.

 - Flame - Much like the light spell, Kyrre draws fire ounia to the tip of the staff and gets it so hot so as to create a bit of flame. He then expands<--strengthens the flame<--fire ounia to create various sizes and shapes of flame such as a long thin arm of flame or a fan of flame that expands out.

 - Flash - This spell functions much like the light spell, but requires a bit more focus. When the ounia is gathered at the tip of the staff, Kyrre activates<-- strengthens the light property in greater and faster way so as to produce a quick, very bright flash of light so as to temporarily blind or distract those who view it.

 - Fireball - Kyrre can produce a projectile of flame from the tip of his staff by heating the fire ounia in the air surrounding the tip until it reaches a point of flame and then releases it to travel forward. The sizes of fireballs he can produce are no larger than his own fist and he is unable to produce more than one fireball within several minutes as it requires more focus time. Also due to the time it takes to produce a fireball, using such a spell in a hasty combat situation is not feasible. He relies on the use of his flame or flash spells.

Spiritual Representation

Kyrre's practice of the spiritual representation of the school of fire magic is not as well practiced as the physical side, but he does secretly use certain spells to further his control over others.

The practice of manipulating someone's emotions is something that has drawn Kyrre since he was a child. His inflated view of himself rarely allows him to view lesser people (i.e. non-mages) as equals. When he finds a female that he desires, he will typically increase the fires of her desire over him and thus Kyrre gains a compliant and faithful mate, even if for a night. He enjoys this kind of control.

A second method of his use of the spiritual representation involves the creation of fear in an enemy. Kyrre will not hesitate to make those he feels as unworthy to fear him. When he manipulates the fear in another person, Kyrre gains yet another element of control over others.

Strengths

Fire Magic - Kyrre is a level 4 fire mage and skilled in the control and use of flame, heat and light. He uses his flashy magic as an instrument of control over others and to demonstrate his power openly. The skills he possesses when fully focused with his Sun Staff are staggering.

Appearance - Kyrre is a handsome, flawless looking man by any race's measure. His clothes are tidy and free of spot or wrinkle. His hair is long and luxurious and his skin is perfectly blemish free. His body is not as frail as it looks as his rigid discipline made him not only exercise his mind but also his body.

Astute - Kyrre is highly intelligent and in particular he is wise to the ways of the world and its workings. He has an excellent grasp of diplomacy and the inner workings of government. He can navigate among the wealthy and powerful with ease and is comfortable among powerful and influential figures.

Weaknesses

Arrogant - Kyrre is a deeply arrogant and high minded man. He never considers the lower class of people and dismissed those that he feels are not of his noble ilk. Anyone not a mage he considers weak and limited and pays them little respect. As such, he tends to make enemies easily.

Fear of the Dark (Nyctophobia) - The fear of the dark places and things is partially what drove Kyrre to practice fire magic. He is drawn to things of light and energy where he can manipulate them. The darkness he fears as there is no light with which to see and control. He does most of his traveling during daylight hours and keeps his homes and work areas well lit at all times. His staff emits light at all times of day or night. To be in darkness paralyzes Kyrre until he can create a light source again.<-- For a fire mage creating light from darkness would be simple to say the least. So this fear is really mute in many many situations.

Constant Chills - Kyrre experiences a constant chill over his entire body most all of the time. He sometimes develops a fever but is unable to determine what causes it.<--A fire mage could lower a fever immediately. It would not diminish the cause but would protect them from the ailments caused from the rise in body temperature. As a result, he wears extra layers of clothing under his robes and keeps his staff heated at all times to ward off the chill. He finds that his chills keep him from focusing properly so he keeps his staff warm to counteract this. This was yet another reason why he took up fire magic.

I hope my comments aid you in being titled soon. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them here as there are many willing to help you. I changed the icon to the pencil while you make edits, please return it to the exclamation mark when you are finished and ready for more comments.

Thank you, dear Twen...

I have made the small edits you pointed out. I've removed the servants bit and also the disdain for the chaotic in his life. Wouldn't suit a fire mage well. Although Kyrre's life is structured and ordered, he recognized the chaos in fire and in his arrogance and superiority of self, he pushes himself to control the chaos and thus one reason for a staff.

I have also removed the fear of darkness and fever weakness as they would be more minor annoyances to a fire mage after all...I have added a few more. Namely, claustrophobia and compulsive lying. These weaknesses fit Kyrre better. I refuse to give him a physical weakness (weak body etc) as I already have a mage like that and I hate rehashing the same cliche weaknesses. Also added a weakness of overconfidence.

 ;) ;)

The Injr'tr (Sun Staff)
- Light Kyrre draws the ounia to the tip of the staff and activates the light property to create light of various intensities. He doesn't favor the darkness and uses this light source at all times at night or in dark or shady places.

Is he drawing the ounia from the air or from the inside of the staff? As he is a sphere II mage only, it has to be one or the other. If it's within the staff itself, you'll need a transparent crystal or something at the tip through which the focused ounia can be reflected to the outside world.

Quote
- Flame - Much like the light spell, Kyrre draws fire ounia to the tip of the staff and gets it so hot so as to create a bit of flame. He then strengthens the fire ounia to create various sizes and shapes of flame such as a long thin arm of flame or a fan of flame that expands out.

Again, because you are sphere II instead of sphere III, you'll need to clarify what the ounia is coming from. If it's coming from within the staff, you won't be able to create a flame on the outside of the staff (without lobbing some torch cloth on the tip and warming up the staff to the point it lights the cloth, at least). If you want to create a flame, you'll need to gather fire from the air.

Quote
- Fireball - Kyrre can produce a projectile of flame from the tip of his staff by heating the fire ounia in the air surrounding the tip until it reaches a point of flame and then releases it to travel forward. The sizes of fireballs he can produce are no larger than his own fist and he is unable to produce more than one fireball within several minutes as it requires more focus time. Also due to the time it takes to produce a fireball, using such a spell in a hasty combat situation is not feasible. He relies on the use of his flame or flash spells.

Fireballs are not simply super-heated air that is then thrown forwards. This is something a few people get wrong, and you may already understand it but I'd just like to clarify it a bit, it's one of the big confusers of our system so anyone who's going to use a fireball I'd like to make sure they understand what's going on with it. Typically, people are used to the idea of the 'Hadoken' style fireball. Where you see a bunch of energies from the air condense into point, at which the mage then throws his hand forwards and thus 'throws' the spell. A mage *can* do it like that, but only with very small fireballs, anything large would be too much work to throw (try picking up a cannonball and throwing it, for instance). Essentially, since you can only create small fireballs, that is the way you can do it if you so prefer, that's the easier to understand method and is much quicker for small fireballs, but if you want to create larger ones, the method is much different.

Because it's a lengthy essay, I won't go into it unless you want to create larger fireballs. If you just want to stick with small ones, then you only need a small edit (condensing the fire ounia and igniting it and then hurling it, not simply intensifying the air around your hand--there isn't enough there, you need a little bit more from the surrounding air).

While all spells are powered and depowered by will, spiritual aspects are even more so. Remember that without pretty deep understanding, will, or practice, these kind of abilities will be only useful on the weak-minded. (think Jedi Mind Trick)

Thank you, Jo...

I have made some tweaks as you suggested. Only the light and heat spells actually are drawn from the ounia within the staff. The other spells are drawn from the ounia in the surrounding air at the tip of the staff, the focal point. And, the fireballs are only the size of a fist and no larger.  Lastly, I made a simple edit about his control over the weak minded as his mastery of the spiritual fire element is not as powerful as the physical representation. ;)

Edit - ANOTHER name change... grin

In the physical representation section, you still describe the creation of the fireball as 'superheating the air and launching it'. Remember for small fireballs, you must still 'gather, condense, and ignite', not just ignite right away.

Thanks for pointing that out, Jo. I've rewritten that paragraph anyway as I said the same thing under the fireball description.
