OK, Eleyr, Rookie, all you mods, I've got a question for you. I would like Rhia to have a mild Blaar'kr/R'unorian accent. Which accent of the real world do you think would relate most to the dialect of the Blaar'kr, or is it my choice?

I'd say it is pretty much your choice for accents. There are no defined accents in the world (except maybe the dwarves sound Scottish or something...) Go with whatever you want your character to sound like. For example, I can hear my own Azhira with a mild Middle-East accent being she is from the desert lands and all. She certainly doesn't sound Irish or Russian to me!

Yeah, Rookie has a strange accent which is basically meant to show that she has trouble pronoucing short constenants and tends to elongate the vowels.  I based it on the Brownie language, which is almost all vowels.

I have always seen Nybelmarian tribes having a Spanish accent, based solely on the appearance of some of the human tribes there. But this is just a personal vision of the place and nothing written in stone. Making your own up is always fun and can really help with the RP aspects of the character. Never know, someone might garner some inspiration from your ideas and use them to create a version of Tharian with your unique quirks mixed in.

About the weight and height, your BMI is normal, so it's fine.  If you want to lower the weight a bit you can, to keep with the slim frame, but if all she has is muscle and not fat then she should be fine.  You could take off the od, or even the hafeb as well, if you want.

Hey Rhina,
Alright, the character detail you went into is very vivid and I almost felt like She was a real person and someone you could actually see and talk too. Now, I haven't been a santharian long enough to really comment on anything that is wrong ( with height and weight and tribe and what not) so I won't attempt to. Now, When you said that her youthfulness and inexperience was a weakness..... is it really, or is that something every young person goes through. Now the way that they handle that could be the weakness. Does she learn and Think before she makes a similar choice that previously, didn't turn out well, or does is she hard-nosed and stubborn? Judging from the description you gave, she has made up her mind that she's right and therefore she (in my eyes) would be hard-nosed and vulnerable to make the same mistake a few times. Just something to ponder grin

Ok, thanks for your input, Khiran. You really put that into a different light!

I do think that the last thing you said was right on the money... As far as the weakness thing goes, I'm kind of divided. You have a very valid point there- people are continually growing, maturing, and changing. On the other hand, naivety and inexperience are part of her character right now. Weaknesses are something to overcome, in a way, you know? And I feel that throughout the rp stories, Rhia will be able to grow a little bit, and maybe overcome some of her own weaknesses a little, or begin to, whatever they are. Anyway, that's my point of view. That may not be what weaknesses are really for... I'm stilling mulling it over.

In any case, thanks for your comments! They definately helped a lot and are giving me something to think about.

If I may butt in here (and I may, cause I have the nifty plaque under my name :P ) This is what it says in the CD creation guide: Weaknesses
These are things that represent disadvantages to your character, and should not be easily changed, though as the character develops these can be more easily overcome.

In my interpretation, that is the same as what Rhia said, only in different words. Also, Rhia wouldn't be the first to use naivety as a weakness, and as far as I'm concerned, it's a perfectly valid weakness :)

With regard,
Simonne

Aight, about mt last post, what I was sayin was that the way she responds to those failures IS her weakness. Someone who learns and doesn't make the same choice or put themselves in the same bad situation is wise. If they are young, then you wouldn't say they youth is a weakness would you? Same for someone who doesn't learn, you would say there STUBBORNESS is there weakness, not age. You know as well as I do, that there are older folks that still make the same mistakes they did as a young person. So perhaps it's there immaturity. Age has nothing to do with it. Then of course, Lady simmone is ( probably) older and wiser than I and has been a Santharian MUCH longer than I have. So listen to whom you wish But she's probably right, she knows the rules better than I.

Each argument is very valid. Ummm.... I agree with you about the age thing, but I also think that naivety is a factor of Rhia's personality. Arrrggghhh, now I'm all muddled up. Anyway, I think I'll work on a compromise of a sort.

Many thanks to the both of you!
