Physical Appearance – With pale, icy blue skin and soft purple lips Leilani gives off the appearance of being perpetually cold, a stark contrast to her generally kind and optimistic nature. Originally jet black, her eyes became a blood-red over the years as a degenerative eyes disease rendered her blind, a disability she has had to cope with for the majority of her life. Long blue hair, streaked with black and paler blues, frames her slightly angular face, usually hiding a pair of sharply pointed ears. Short and slender for her race, Leilani never even dabbled in combat, allowing her form to remain soft and supple. Long, shapely arms move with a steady grace from task to task, surprising given the fact that she cannot see what she is doing. With such a quiet, subtle disposition, she isn't one to over-exaggerate her movements or give unnecessary gestures.

Simply put, Leilani's beauty may be somewhat unconventional, but it is no less remarkable. The only blemish marring the smooth surface of her skin is a tattoo, several shades darker than her skin, directly in the middle of her forehead. It’s the mark of her clan, applied after birth.

Clothing – A pair of black, doeskin trousers are stretched tautly over her legs, clinging tightly from her hips, all the way down to her shins before disappearing beneath a pair of knee-high black boots. Made of soft leather, they bend and form easily to whatever position she chooses. From her waist to her bosom is a tight fitted bodice, made of smooth black satin, with intricate beading and lace encasing the entirety of it. Not one to favor the all-leather style of her tribe, her wardrobe has only a handful of black, leather pieces.

Personality - There have been many people who assume Leilani's disability has left her feeling bitter and isolated, but upon meeting her have changed their opinions drastically. Good natured and optimistic, it is rare to find Leilani having a bad day. While she hasn't accumulated a great number of close friends, she treats all of her acquaintances with a sort of open kinship that often leaves them awed by her gentle, easy nature. Such a temperament has left her with the ability to befriend and relate to young children, and even animals. More often than not, it will be a small child rather than an adult that gravitates towards her.

Unfortunately everyone does in fact have those days where they seem drained or feel no joy or comfort within themselves. Usually, this only happens to Leilani when her illness has become even more of a disturbance to her life, or she has forgotten to take her Yahrle tea. Whether her body is physically spent or she is emotionally drained, she never takes her frustration out on others around her. More than likely she would take it out on herself, criticizing herself for not being stronger.

[Strengths] -

Determination- Often times people underestimate her ability to function normally and support herself in society. While it is true that she struggles with obstacles that other people find simple, she almost always overcomes them. Years of being blind have given Leilani the determination to accomplish whatever task she sets her mind to.

Lucas- Due to her disability and her less than impressive knowledge of combat, she often relies on her dog Lucas to protect her, or at the very least ward potential attackers away from her. While Lucas is a fairly large animal, it isn't plausible to expect him to be able to fend off enemies several times his size, but your average size human, or any race smaller than that, is feasible. In addition to protection, Lucas also acts as a seeing-eye dog for Leilani.

Keen sense of smell- She uses this talent for no other reason aside from mixing and creating the most desirable combination of smells for her perfume. The more intoxicating and alluring the smell is, the greater chance she has of snagging a buyer. Her nose can pick up just about every ingredient in any scent she inhales.

[Weaknesses] -

Blind- Unfortunately Leilani was born with perfect eyesight, so when a degenerative eye disease rendered her blind, she knew everything she was missing. At the age of 10 her eyesight was gone completely, forcing Leilani to readjust to the world around her. Her disability makes it hard for her to complete everyday tasks without mishap, and fairly impossible to handle any weapon properly. Often left defenseless, she relies on her dog Lucas to ward off any potential assaulter's.

Chronic Illness- It is all too common for Lorelei to experience mild to extreme fatigue while performing normal, everyday tasks. She has sensitivity to light and heat, making her feel dizzy and nauseas when she gets over heated. During particularly bad outbreaks, her toes and fingers will turn white or blue and feel very cold. Hair loss is also not uncommon during her outbreaks, but is only temporary and grows back. Often joint and muscle pain makes it very difficult for her to move freely or do the work that is required for that day.

Yahrle- Often suffering from depression, linked to both her illness and her past, Leilani drinks a tea brewed with the Yahrle healing herb. Generally if she doesn’t consume this herb on a regular basis, her attitude and willpower are severely affected, causing depression and little to no desire to even get out of bed. With no other way of income, if she slacks on her duties of being a perfumer, then becoming broke is a very real possibility.

History - It wasn’t love or tenderness or even joy that brought Leilani into this world, it was desperation, the actions of a desperate woman who felt she had nothing and no one. O’ylffer Kupa’a had once been a vibrant woman, full of life and vitality, a loving wife and friend to all. Neither she, nor the wisdom of any superior being, could make sense of the tragedy and heartbreak caused from losing a loved one. One year into her marriage and two months into her first pregnancy, O’ylffer lost her husband, Vivvre, to a riding accident. A routine exercise while breaking in a wild horse left him laying limp in their field, his neck broken and his head twisted back at an odd angle. There were no tears pooling in her eyes, or screams of agony and grief, O’ylffer simply ceased to be. Slowly she became a shell of her old self; she felt nothing, enjoyed nothing and lived for nothing. A few months later, due to malnutrition, her unborn baby died in her womb. O’ylffer didn’t cry.

   Finally she left her small home just east of Nimroth, leaving behind her old life and the rest of her Kaýrrhem tribe. She travelled west, eventually ending up in the Crystalwoods; Coor’hem territory. It wasn’t long before she was discovered, lying on a makeshift bed of moss and dried leaves. Galnósraín Amona, Coor’hem elf and one of the Ruhn of his clan, was the man who set the male gender of his clan against the female, led by a brutish elven woman named Tin’yew. Finding himself alone in the woods with a beautiful Kaýrrhem woman, he quickly dropped his trousers and fell to his knees before her. Shocked to the core and a bit panicked, O'ylffer reacted quickly, if a bit clumsily, taking advantage of Galnósraín's preoccupation with her skirts. Reaching into her boot, she extracted a small, simple dagger and not two seconds later he lay dying on the ground, blood seeping from the fatal stab to his heart. Even though her aim was straight and her hand was fast, it was too late, that act was done. Now she would have to wait and anticipate the consequences. Pulse racing she ran in the opposite direction from which Galnósraín had come, only taking an hour or so before reaching a narrow dirt road.

   She hired a passing driver who took her south in the back of his hay wagon, all the way to the coast of Gelm. Along the way, O'ylffer told him about the last year of her life, and the horrible fate that befallen her and her loved ones. He felt sorry for the helpless elven woman and searched his mind for a way to ease the despair around her heart. They reached Gelm, and it was there the driver left her with his Aunt and her husband, Makamae and Bane Nakai’ewalu, a Korweynite couple living in the seclusion of their oceanfront cottage. Two months later the signs were obvious, O'ylffer was once again pregnant. Throughout the rest of her pregnancy they sheltered and nourished her, but even such good and attentive care couldn’t prevent her from delivering a premature baby. Small and sickly, Leilani wasn't expected to live out the night, and unfortunately neither was her mother. Before morning O'ylffer died of blood loss, with Leilani cuddled against her now cold bosom, sleeping peacefully.

   While Bane didn’t show much interest in the elvish infant, never one for children after his wife failed to conceive, Makamae played the role of a surrogate mother as best she could. Even during the long period of which Leilani slowly began to lose her eyesight, Makamae was there to comfort her and assure her that she would be fine. To prove to her that she could do anything she set her mind to, blind or not, she started to teach her young elven daughter the art of perfuming, which she inherited from her mother, one of the most renowned Perfumers in the vicinity of Gelm. As her eyesight became worse and worse, her sense of smell only became stronger. It wasn’t long before she could detect even the most insignificant scent in a perfume. Without her eyesight, she needed a way of identifying each ingredient. Using tin vials in place of glass, she would gently chisel a very distinct symbol into the side of each of them. In addition to her symbol system, she kept all of them organized into specific groups, with florals, citruses, musks, etc all grouped in their own categories. When her eyes finally failed her completely, Makamae, using the money she saved from years of selling her perfumes, bought her one male and one female Kodael dog, brought all the way from Nybelmar by a shipping merchant. Primarily used as Guide Dogs, Leilani quickly bonded with the animals, not really caring to spend time with other children of her age. Even though she seemed to get along with them all fairly well, she preferred to remain within the boundaries of her parents land.

   Over one hundred years, and ten generations of Kodaels later, Leilani was living alone in her parent’s cottage with her dog Lucas, and Rocco, a small White ferret that she found scurrying into her room every night. Although he wasn’t the brightest of weasels, he became fiercely dependent on Leilani, never venturing off for a long period of time. Living without her adoptive parents put a severe strain on Leilani's mental and physical health. Depression quickly set in, and for awhile she didn't even bother to take her regular dosage of Yahrle tea, preferring to sulk in her own misery. Eventually she pulled herself out of the depths of despair and upon her 122nd birthday, she left her lifelong home for something different. She wasn’t quite sure where it was she was heading, but she had hoped to find a place to mix and sell her perfumes, and to start her life off fresh.

Selling the cottage, she traveled to Aca Santerra, spending weeks at port before stumbling upon a Sanhorrhim merchant ship willing take her on as a passenger. She spent the next month or so locked in her small cabin, constantly fighting with her nausea, and preferring to take her meals by herself. The crew had been very patient with her, several of them even coming to accompany her on deck. She could feel the wind whipping at her hair, and the spray of salt water against her skin. There was one night in particular where the weather was particularly balmy and the sea was almost at a dead calm. Only a handful of the crew were on deck as she stood there, Lucas at her feet, and felt the gentle rocking of the ship. Her nausea didn't plague her that night. When their journey came to an end she gratefully descended from the ship, taking her first steps on Sarvonian soil. They had sailed into Cyon Sola Bay, docking just west of Vontron. Perhaps Sarvonia would be her new home. She sincerely hoped so, sailing wasn't for her.

Physical Appearance: Although both of his parents had brown and black coats, Lucas came into the world stark white, an extremely rare occurence for Kodael dogs. Only a handful of his ancestors had long hair, but his coat is naturally short and doesn't require much maintenance or grooming to keep it clean. Almond shaped, dark brown eyes stand out in marked contrast to the soft white fur surrounding them. Larger than average, he stand taller than 2 Fores and weighs approximately 1 Pygge. Not only is he big, but his whole body consists of thick corded muscle, similar to the rest of his breed in Nybelmar.
Personality: Although bred for hunting and protection, he is one of the sweetest animals Leilani has ever encountered, as well as eternally loyal. For short, easy journeys, Lucas is made to pull a small cart to their destination. Easily capable of such a task, it also saves money on renting transportation. Trained to be a Guide Dog, Lucas' main objective is to get Leilani from one destination to another without incident. Friendly and energetic, he does extremely well around other people, but prefers to sit quietly by Leilani's side until he is needed.

Physical Appearance: Not very long, Rocco's body spans from the bend of Leilani's elbow to the tips of her fingers. His slightly coarse white hair blends in almost flawlessly with Lucas' coat. You can often find Rocco laying belly down on his canine friends back, becoming lost in the sea of white fur.
Personality: Always curious, it's not uncommon for the small creature to disappear without notice, only to return with a small trinket or a dead animal. Around other people Rocco usually sticks close to Leilani, perhaps afraid of being lost in the crowd.
