The spells written for Necromancy won't stay in Ximaxian magic, as the 'fires of life' concept transcends anything taught in that school. I am sorry you feel so discouraged Azhira and if you can find anything in other elements that rivals it ... I welcome you to discuss them wherever and whenever you like. If you don't grasp it, I wonder how you got permission to write a high level one ... To be honest, I think you grasp it just fine, but dislike not being potent across the board. Necromancy has great benefits but tinkering with the very fabric of life comes with its cost also.

Oh I grasp Ximaxian concepts, just not the logic behind fire necromancy and why it has to be so different. It doesn't matter, since I can still keep Malexia's concept by changing to a different element.
And to be honest - animating corpses is not a potent power. Without a supply of corpses, and by lacking the physical skills of fire magic, a necromancer is worthless in a fight. Sure, she can press the spiritual representation, but any other low level elemental magi becomes superior. So really, a fire necromancer is limited. I must ask, however, do other elemental magi suffer the same handicap? I don't think so. Its only when introducing the "fires of life" that makes it different. Otherwise, it's just cold animation. And what is wrong with that? I don't feel its necessary to give corpses a "will", just animate the damned things and point them to where they need to go (or hack). The fires of life concept seems to be the stonewall of fire necromancy. Introduce that principle and the rules suddenly change.

The character is very beautifully done, I would hope you wouldn't discard it all. Good luck!
As you like Azhira, but I would like to see you animate more than a single one. That is where a Fire Necromancer excels, their own personal army. Are they weaker than most in the beginning ... certainly. But when things start dieing, they are the winners.
Also, a typical fire mage animating anything can't point it in a direction and give it instructions. Then turnabout and start casting other spells. Or dividing up their animated minions and point them in separate directions with variable commands.
Then again, designing a magic form with some originality ... being the spell throwing god/dess wasn't my intention.

Thanks Sylv and Twen! Excuse my frustrations. After some thought (and sleep!), the process makes more sense. I have revised the magic in lime green to reflect that. In fact, Malexia is supposed to be a scholar mage, not a battle mage, so her weaknesses are legitimate. It is also fitting because her mastery of spiritual representation gives her better control over her staff.

Magic section looks mostly fine now, but a couple of things:
1) Twen is only an archmagi/instructor in Rayne's fanfiction story on the dev boards. As far as I know, she is neither in actuality. She was an instructor persay in the Necromancer cult, but not at Ximax itself.
2) You mention using the physical aspects when animating sentient corpses. Did you mean spiritual here?
Once those are fixed I'd say you'd be okay for an approval.

Well, I was asked to have a look at this CD because there were apparently some issues with it, but looking at the discussion, they seem to have been resolved. Am I mistaken?

Well, in that case, I do have a question. The CD says that she sometimes raises animals to use as mounts. The opinion on this thread seems to be that this is harder than raising humanoids, for which she already needs to set the bodies on fire. If she needs to set animal bodies on fire too in order to raise them, won't they be rather hard to use as mounts?
Overall, except for the 'fires of life', which I don't really understand, the Magic section looks fine to me. But I'm really not very good with necromancy, so I might have missed some things.
