Thanks for driving the story forward, Damien. I think it's great how the two plot lines are approaching their respective dramatic climaxes at the same time.

There's one thing I would like to say, however: it's nighttime; it's dark! I think some recent posts in the "Rescue" plot line didn't reflect that so well, my own included (Lili saw Grallen's wounds more clearly than was realistic, I think).

So, for example: how does Slinky recognize Grallen as an orc - from a distance and in the dark, in the chaos of a fight, and all? And how can he be sure that the woman who just came on deck is Lili, whom he has never seen and whom he knows from vague description at best, and who, for all Slinky knows, is a prisoner and thence not exactly expected to be out and about?

Anyway, I don't think we should necessarily go back and change posts, but maybe we could play the 'Great Escape' in a dark, night-time-sea-foggy, shadow-haunted, eye-bogglingly chaotic atmosphere, flickering torchlights and all? What do you think?

In any case, I think the rescuers should feel free to post the invasion of the ship without further ado. I don't need to post before that happens, and will wait.

Tharoc has been very active on the dev board lately. If I catch him there, I'll give him a nudge.

Lili, as I was writing my post and looking over the others I was asking myself the same questions and all I could come up with that satisfied me, somewhat, was that the ship had lit lanterns. However as far as Slinky is concerned about knowing if it was Lili or not, he had been there quite awhile and had overheard conversations, besides what other blonde haired woman would be on the deck of a ship with knives in her hands and who says he saw Grallen and her and the fight from a distance? He could have hiding pretty close, the crew's attention was on the fight, not on anyone who may have snuck aboard their ship....but all of this is just supposition and that is what I used to move the story forward.

Drustai, Altario - I'm so often surprised at the turn your RPG takes. I'm going with Altario to the boss, think it is very well in character, that he introduces him in the way, he did - but don't see any problem yet. And then you write your post, Drustai, and you give it a totally different turn , show me the problem you now have with Altario blazoning out his name... just great!

Fiddlesticks, Altario. Drustai's and your co-operation is a masterclass in duet storytelling. It's fantastic how you both keep the reader guessing about what's going to happen next. Your storyline has shown me possibilities of roleplaying that I hadn't considered before.

Damien: everything you say makes good sense.    In any case, Orly's post has already deftly conjured up the darkness as well as the lights on the ship, so everything's in place for an atmospheric rumble.

*Clomping across to the short-arsed orcess, Tharoc holds the palm of one hand in front of her, waving the fingertips back and forth*

*Reaching into the deepest recesses of a breeches pocket, he produces a string of multi-hued stone beads*

Oooh, look Grallen. Pretty things. Shiny things! *He twirls the beads, allowing sunlight to dance across their faceted edges, casting rainbows of colour across her sulky face*
