Overview
“Am good with hands. Fix things” An oddly shaped, be-hooded figure advertises his skills. Indeed, the curious figure is very good with his hands. Snarls of knots come undone as though by some trick of magic. Carts that once ran rickety are shored up and simple things like doors and locks are made to work properly once again. Over one shoulder, he carries a stave with a bag, a small earthenware pot with smoke emanating from it tied to one end and a... was that a potted flower?  From what you can see, despite the hood and other garments, the figure wears a simple scarf over much of his face, masking his features.

Physical Appearance
At first glance, one might mistake Dagaz for an orcish runt, looking deformed as he does. His arms seem to dangle far too long, and his hands are smaller than expected. His feet are almost humorously outsized, sitting on scrawny legs that support a similarly out-of-place torso. Indeed, Dagaz is far smaller than might be expected of either of his parents stock, almost comically so. Small fangs peek up from the lower jaw, where they can be seen showing from the mouth of a bald, almost childlike head, with bright yellow eyes veined with green. His arms and legs seem rather too small to support the rest of him, let alone use a stick for anything other than for carrying things or walking. However, the thinness of his limbs belies their strength, particularly in his hands, which might snap the neck of a wounded animal or break a thick branch.

Clothing
Dagaz's clothing is a mixture of cast off bits of various weaves, fabrics and colours. Pieces of tattered rug intermingle with bright, decaying silks, stout woollens and odds of leather boots or tanner's scrap in a mad patchwork robe that covers various whole garments of an equally assorted arrangement. Here a farmer's winter gloves, there (was that a hat?) the leg of one pant has been sewn onto a much longer arm of a shirt.
Dagaz wears a slightly tattered hood, deliberately kept longer than needed, and a scarf across much of his face. The brown, coarse fabric does little to impair wind or rain. A short mantle with another hood keeps the clothing from being soaked through long enough for Dagaz to find shelter.

He wears three talismans around his neck on bits of bootlace or cord. One is clearly an orcen tooth, yellow with age, a second appears to be a bird skull, the other is a lifereed whistle.

On a walking stick over his shoulder, Dagaz carries a small earthenware jar with some embers in it. There are holes in the jar which allow smoke from the jar to escape. Because these holes are not opening directly upwards they inhibit the entrance of rain or wind into the jar which would snuff the embers or flames. Dagaz also carries a potted petunia which he thinks is rather pretty. He seems very careful not to damage the plant for reasons of his own.

Personality
Dagaz spends much of his time looking for work of one sort or another. Being a crossbreed as he is, and of two rather unusual races, Dagaz speaks a strange pidgin of orcish, mullog and bits and pieces of Tharian, and often mutters to himself as he works. Dagaz is a great believer in not offending anyone, or anything. He treads carefully around trees, and refuses to buy food for fear that there was waste in its making and that such would disturb or even anger the Eru, the spirit of the creature or thing, which went into its making.

The pot of fire he carries around on his stick is an example of such a thing. As part of his respect for the place that gave him shelter and fire, he honours it by taking some of the fire with him, so as not to waste it. His peculiar mix of parentage has also led to an odd variety of animistic belief in Dagaz. He is very wary of offending any spirits that may be about and has a strange way of doing things as a result, be it as simple as entering a building or as necessary as making a fire.

Strengths
Dagaz is very good with his hands, surprisingly so. He has a very good understanding of how things seem to fit together, be it barrels, carts or things as simple as knots.

Dagaz has a longer reach than most might expect, being swaddled in cloth as he is, as well as an exceptionally strong grip.

Dagaz is capable of speaking orcish and Tharian in a broken sort of pidgin, intermingled with bursts of mullog.

Weaknesses
Dagaz’s odd personality quirks tend to clash with other, less understanding, people particularly when it comes to his religion. Dagaz’s respect for spirits is second to nothing else for him.

Dagaz moves rather slowly and has a strange gait because of his deformities, and has often been shunned as a result of this.

Dagaz's background is a particular pain for some people and Dagaz has nearly been lynched on at least one occasion as a result of his peculiar parentage.

Dagaz has only a mean grasp of Tharian, having learned orcish and mullog long before leaving the swamps.

History
Dagaz was conceived by a mullog mother and a gob-oc exile. His father, who was wounded amidst a foolish wager to travel south into human lands, came from far to the north. The intrepid youth traveled south, only to lose his way amongst human lands. Being an orc, he took precautions to hide his identity, sleeping in roadside ditches and stealing more concealing garments from scarecorbies in fields. Traveling at night, he somehow succeeded in making his way far enough south that he reached the Silvermarshes. Not knowing the perils of the place, he thought nothing of cutting through the marshes to avoid further contact with humans or hobbits. He managed to injure his leg terribly after a run in with a Swamp Stalker. Unable to do more than limp, he wandered aimlessly through the marshes. Upon finding a small settlement of mullogs, he threw himself on their mercy. For whatever reason, it was determined that the spirits did not want this interloper dead, and they accepted the injured orc into their community.

At some point thereafter, Dagaz was born. He was a strange looking child. He had an aptitude with his hands that frightened some of the others, who claimed he was not "natural" others claimed that he had no Eru, and sought to drive both the child and his father out of the community.

Dagaz stayed though. According to more "reasonable" mullogs, the spirits had allowed the child's father to live and the same right should be granted to the child. Dagaz recognized the lack of welcome left for him in the swamp however, and set out. He had a strong grasp of mullog speech, and had learned some orcish from his father. His Tharian was a butchered mess however, and so he was forced to mime out his requests upon arriving in a halfling settlement to the southeast. It was lucky for Dagaz that he traveled south, rather than north where he would have arrived in Astran, likely to at least one opportunity to be lynched.

Dagaz has kept occasional company with several individuals, including one Caithren, a hobbit from Helmond's Shire near the Silvermarshes.

Dagaz's associations with Caithren have been... interesting, to say the least. They often involve quite a bit of running. Most recently, an incident with a group of Black Butterfly Rovers and some sort of action on Caithren's part lead to quite a bit of running, never Dagaz's strong point. While Caithren made good his getaway Dagaz was forced to explain to a rather angry group of men that his Tharian was very bad and that he wasn't sure what was going on. Which was the truth. Dagaz does not particularly enjoy being caught in the less legal activities of his friend, he finds the company of the hobbit enjoyable to say the least.

Belongings
Dagaz owns little more than the clothing on his back and what people will give him. His constant possessions include his walking stick, to which he affixes his supplies in an orderly bundle, as well as a clay pot with embers and a second pot with a flower in it.

Familiars
Name: Kenaz

Species: Stormcrow

Age: 3 years

Dagaz is frequented by a stormcrow, whom he refers to as Kenaz. The bird is not particularly exceptional in any way, except that it follows Dagaz around. Like many stormcrows it is not a particularly stupid bird and Dagaz trusts the "judgement" of the bird, more often than not.

History: Dagaz met Kenaz on the border of the Wetholm (what non-mullogs would call the Silvermarshes). Believing it to be an omen of something, he fed the creature. It has been attached to him ever since.

Hello Dagaz, just a quick note. You may have a problem with your race. The Osther-Oc orcs are located far to the North of Sarvonia while the Mullogs live in the South. The distance is very far and it is quite unlikely that an orc or mullog would ever be in either location (or even breed). That's like trying to breed someone living in Peru with someone in Alaska in the Middle Ages. Not going to happen. A suggestions perhaps is to be one or the other.

Hi Dagaz, and I would say welcome to Santharia, were it not for an itch in my left thumb, which tells me that you’re not new here.

I like this CD. Hurray for everyday professions with great potential for roleplay! I don’t see much that’s wrong, but would like to point to a few places where I feel you could elaborate more.

Overview
“Am good with hands. Fix things” An oddly shaped, be-hooded (simply: “hooded”?) figure advertises his skills. Indeed, the curious figure is very good with his hands. Snarls of knots come undone as though by some trick of magic. Carts that once ran rickety are shored up and simple things like doors and locks are made to work properly once again. Appearance

Height
2 fores, 2 palmspans (Why so small? Mullogs can reach a ped, gob-ocs are typically a ped and a half. I’m not saying it’s impossible … but it’s unusual, I would think, and might warrant a little emphasizing comment in your Appearance section?)

Weight
8 hebs, 4 ods

Hair Colour
N/A

Eye Colour
Yellow

Physical Appearance
At first glance, one might mistake Dagaz for an orcish runt (Nice word!), looking deformed as he does. (I wasn’t quite sure, from this paragraph, whether Dagaz’s deformed appearance is simply how any mullorc would appear to most humans, or whether he is disfigured above and beyond the odd appearance his parentage would already be likely to lend him in most Santharians’ eyes. I think you intend the latter, don’t you? Maybe make it clearer, so that even a dunce like me will understand on first reading.) His arms seem to dangle far too long, and his hands are smaller than expected. His feet are almost humorously outsized, sitting on scrawny legs that support a similarly out-of-place torso. Small fangs peek up from the lower jaw, when they can be seen showing  a bald, almost childlike head, (this doesn’t make sense – the fangs are showing a bald head? I think I know what you want to say, but methinks you need to say it! ;) ) with bright yellow eyes veined with green. His arms and legs seem rather too small to support the rest of him, let alone use a spear for anything other than as a stick for carrying things or walking. However, the thinness of his limbs belies their strength, particularly in his hands, which might snap the neck of a wounded animal or break a thick branch.

Clothing
All swaddled in robes as he is, Dagaz is very difficult to distinguish. It has been commented, more than once, that if he were to lie down in a pile of cloth, someone might simply walk by without noticing him. (Do you mean to say: “if he were to lie down, a passer-by might mistake him for a pile of cloth?”) Dagaz wears a slightly tattered hood, deliberately kept longer than needed, and a scarf across much of his face. The brown, coarse fabric does little to impair wind or rain. (Poor Dagaz!) A short mantle with another hood keeps the clothing from being soaked through long enough for Dagaz to find shelther. He wears three talismans around his neck. One is clearly an orcen tooth (From his father? Maybe explain in history?), yellow with age, a second appears to be a bird skull, the other is a lifereed whistle.

The pot of fire he carries around on his stick is an example of such a thing. As part of his respect for the place that gave him shelter and fire, he honours it by taking some of the fire with him, so as not to waste it. (I really like his idiosyncrasies! It wouldn’t harm if you would explain, though, that the emphasis on non-wasting has its origin in the mullogs’ belief that every being and object has an eru, and that this eru deserves respect?) His peculiar mix of parentage has also led to an odd variety of animistic belief in Dagaz. He is very wary of offending any spirits that may be about has a strange way of doing things as a result, be it as simple as entering a building or as necessary as making a fire. (Hm. What exactly is it that’s strange about his way of entering a building, for example?)

I think that the ability to speak mullog and orcish, however brokenly, are two further strengths relative to a human peasant.

Weaknesses
Dagaz’s odd personality quirks tend to clash with other, less understanding, people particularly when it comes to his religion. Dagaz’s respect for spirits is second to noting else for him.

Dagaz moves rather slowly and has a strange gait because of his deformities, and has often been shunned as a result of this.

Dagaz's background is a particular pain for some people and Dagaz has nearly been lynched on at least one occasion as a result of his peculiar parentage.

Dagaz stayed though. According to more "reasonable" mullogs, the spirits had allowed the child's father to live and the same right should be granted to the child. Dagaz recognized the lack of welcome left for him in the swamp however, and set out. (When did he set out? That is, how long has he been travelling? What made him realize that he would always be an outsider among mullogs? What hopes did he have for his life when he set out?) He had a strong grasp of mullog speech, and had learned some orcish from his father. His Tharian was a butchered mess however, and so he was forced to mime out his requests upon arriving in a halfling settlement to the southeast. It was lucky for Dagaz that he traveled south, rather than north where he would have arrived in Astran, likely to at least one opportunity to be lynched. (Hm. Apart from his association with Caithren, which you explain below, how has Dagaz been coping in the wide world? Does he find it easy or difficult to make money as a tinker? What is his view of humans now, whom he will have hardly got to see before he left the marshes? A bit more detail would help readers imagine the character better, I think!)

(I find the description of Dagaz’ association with Caithren too cryptic. I don’t know whether Caithren already exists as a character on the board or not, but in any case I would like to know how they met, and whether Caithren is in fact exploiting Dagaz, rather than being a friend … And of what nature are these incidences that result in them fleeing someone or something? Are they trying to steal something, or just playing pranks? Be clearer, please! Also, this paragraph suggests to me that Dagaz is a bit dim-witted, or at least naïve; if that’s your intention, it might be mentioned under ‘personality’, and may even constitute a weakness.)

Belongings
Dagaz owns little more than the clothing on his back and what people will give him. His constant possessions include his walking stick, to which he afixes his supplies in an orderly bundle, as well as a clay pot with embers and a second pot with a flower in it. (Can you say something about the significance of the flower? Is it a reminder of home? Something that gives him hope? Or maybe Dagaz knows the saying: "If you want to be happy for an hour, get drunk; if you want to be happy for a year, fall in love; if you want to be happy for life, take up gardening"?)

Like many stormcrows it is not a particularly stupid bird and Dagaz trusts the "judgement" of the bird, more often than not. (I’d be interested to learn how Dagaz and Kenaz got to know each other.)

Me again.

You didn't ask for a title suggestion, so you may want to ignore this:

       "Ragbag "?

And a detail I had missed:

Quote
Dagaz is frequented by a stormcrow, who he refers to as Kenaz.

It looks good to me. You may wish to fix some sentence to sentence spacing here and there though. Make sure everything is in order.

Don't forget to come up with a suitable title for yourself ... would you consider Fu's suggestion of Ragbag?
