Elf, Injerín Aellenrhim

« on: December 23, 2005, 08:18:22 AM »

Name: So Orril Miés'efér

Gender : Male

Picture:

Age: Appears 31, is really 385

Race: Elf

Tribe: Injerín/Aellenrhim.

Title: Sky Master

Occupation: employee for any job that requires wind magic.

Weight: 1 Pygge and 2 Hafebs.

Height 2 peds

Physical Appearance

I have golden hair and deep yellow eyes, reaching Strata yellow.
My nose is neither big nor small, just the right size, and is a bit angular. My eyes are incrusted deep in my face, so if the light hits me at certain angles the shadow will cover them totally and let you see them literally shine. I’m skinny, making my cheekbones appear larger than they are really, also my cheeks are flushed, as usual in Injerín. My ears, as many are in the elven tribes, are pointed.

I'm tall as usual for my tribe, standing at two peds.

If you tried to guess my age, you would probably guess wrong; in appearance many humans would say that I'm 31 or 32, but I have 385 years under my belt; enough time to see many things. Don’t you think so?

Clothes

I tend to wear a golden shirt, and white trousers. As you may see I don’t bother searching for complimenting colors. I also like to wear items of a greenish hue, but it's not very common to see me with something green since I prefer the white and gold. On rainy or cold days I use a golden cloak, to keep me warm and protect myself from getting wet.

I prefer to wear gold because in Injerín tribe, gold is the symbol of masters, and I consider myself a master because not everyone reach the graduation, though I still have many things to discover and see.

• Personality

I’m a calm person, and it is very hard to make me angry; however, once enraged, it’s hard to stop me. I like kids, and students also, so if you have a problem just knock my door and I will gladly help you. As a mage you may see that I have strong willpower and focus. I hate hypocrisy, and the lack of honor or courage. I love to write, and to participate in some sports.
I rush through things, wishing to finish them quickly and be free to continue with more. If you see me, you would think that I never get tired, but many times I get exhausted without notice. Also, I love to sleep late. Some people think that I’m a bit odd because I stay awake almost all the afternoon and night and sleep almost all morning, so to say it short, I love the night, and this is reflected by my familiars, a wolf and an owl.

• Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths

My wind magic helps in many occasions, as I’m good with it, and especially good with offensive spells.

I have a wolf and an owl that help me to fight and are my companions.

I practiced fighting with staff, as hobby, and though I know how to use it, I’m not overwhelming good with it.

Weaknesses.
My biggest weakness is my lack of stamina; I can’t run for long periods of time, or stand long walks.

Another weakness is my curiosity, which gets me into trouble

Also, I’m not very muscular per say, so I’m not very good at handling big things (like a long sword) or heavy ones (another reason to choose wind magic).

My sight is fading, due to the use of books and dim light in the large hours of study, and as I said, I love to be awake in night. Now I need to use glasses to see, without them my aim is VERY bad, I see all blurred after six peds without them.

I like the danger, my fanciness to new expirences had made me do crazy things, like provoke a Golem, or taunt some of the Fire scholl orcs... *remembers the fireballs and shuders* well, sure I won't do that again, they almost burned my clothes and me with them.

My last weakness is that I don't think so much before making decisions, rushing everything to finish quickly. This has at times caused some of my spells to fail and occasionally to fizzle with near disastrous consequences. I must remind myself at all times to take great caution in my incantations if I want to live another 300 years...

History

Deep in a dark study, illuminated with a dim light from a fire place and some candles, So Orril Miés'efér writes in a book. At a glance, someone can guess he is very busy; the quill goes fast from the left to the right, leaving some letters in greenish ink.

Suddenly someone knocks at the front door. The knocking distracts Orril and makes him cut a bit of the paper with the quill — What the??? Who’s out this late on the streets? — Leaves the things and goes to the front door — Who’s there? — Asks Orril from inside. A feminine voice answers — Now no one can visit you? — Orril is intrigued and opens the door; outside is a female mage — Sorry dear, I didn’t expected someone to come this late, please come in — She doesn’t wait and enters.

Rumors run through Ximax that you think of leaving — she says once seated in a couch in front of the fireplace. She stops briefly before she continues — Tell me Orril, tell me your past. Is something there that you cannot tell? Something so bad to keep it a mystery? — Slowly he answers — I have told you thousands of times, I don’t like anyone knowing who I am. Knowledge is power, and some people here have that power, so now I must leave — Orril finishes writing the book, and he puts it in a bag.

The girl was his best friend, but Orril had a secret hidden, even to her, a secret he wished never happened.

The visitor asks once more — C’mon, I don’t have secrets from you, tell me that before you leave, I wish to know the truth — Orril falls in the other couch, thinks a moment, and starts:

I’m the grandson of a member of the elders’ council from the Injerín tribe, though I’m not of pure blood.

My father was an Injerín; he was a great wind mage. While a boy, all I dreamt about was becoming someday as good as him.

My mother, on the other hand, was an Aellenrhim wind mage; she always made me ponder how she knew what I was doing, and I think I will never know. — Orril stopped a bit and continued — My parents met while they were in Ximax. At first they struggled to be better than the other. They had all kinds of crazy competitions, like making a mirage in the middle of a stairway and seeing how many people failed to recognize that all was an illusion, like chasing with wind walk… they made all, from grades to foolish games. But slowly they saw that their struggle was to astonish the other, and they found the real feeling that makes everyone confused. They fell in love, and some time before their graduation my father asked my mother to be his wife. — The visitor suspired, Orril waited a moment before he began to speak again

Twelve years later I was born in the Shaded Forest town named O'kroi'parda'ael, “The Everlasting War in West”. We lived six years there, but eventually we moved to another town, where my parents and grandparents thought that I would grow better. Avá’ewelín, “The Beauty of Life,” was the next town I stayed in. This town is famous for a botanical garden in the center; the people there throw the seeds and leave Avá to do her work, making it beautiful.

While I stayed there, my fascination toward wind and wind magic grew, and every day that I saw my parents using it for cleaning or transport, I wished to be able to do it. Every blink that I saw the deep blue sky, I desired to soar in it.
I grew up, hearing my parents speaking about Ximax, about how wonderful it was, and this fuelled my interest to go there

On my twenty-first birthday, my grandpa asked me about going to Ximax.
My heart raced. I reached the sky in that moment, and while this happened a word made me go even farther: I answered yes.

My grandfather made all the arrangements, and a week later I was taking a river ship that would lead me to the sea. I was going all the way down Luquador River, until the Sea of Tears.

The first and second day on the ship passed very fast. We (the crew and I) did land at a little village near the Worldquest River. I remember that these two days where almost fatal to me, because the excitement gave me insomnia, and I hardly slept an hour or two in the two days.

The third day I fell asleep without remedy. I didn’t leave my cabin in two days; some people thought that something had happened to me, but no one interrupted my dream. On the fifth day we did land, I awoke on time to take the ocean ship, I can’t remember its name, but was the biggest ship I ever saw.
But big don’t mean good; all the way I felt sick. The next time I must go on an ocean ship, I will think twice about it.
All the time I was on the ocean, I didn’t leave my cabin except to eat, and it was extremely rare that I ate something on that ship.

Six days passed on that ship; we did land in Thysland the night of the sixth day.
I stayed in Thysland for some weeks, recovering from my sea sickness. Once I felt better I continued my way, to south. I walked about twelve days before I reached Hort. I took two days to rest there. After that time I entered the Shivering Woods and walked all they way to Ximax. On the way I felt a deep link with nature, something hard to explain, but from that day until now I try to go to woods every time I can.

Finally I reached Ximax. First I went to the Valgure’s Emporium to buy all the stuffs for school, and after I went to the Academy.

Once installed, I sent letters every day to my parents, until they died, and my family sent me letters too, and sometimes money to cover my needs. But when my parents died, I needed a job, so I started to work in Valgure’s Emporium.

My spare time was reduced, but many friends came to me. One of them was a hunter.

He invited me to go with him and his party to hunt; they did so, including a pack of wolves. At the end I found a wolf pup, lone and famished. I thought that my party killed his pack, so I hid it and took to my room, where I cared for him. Shadow grew thinking that I was the Alpha of his lost pack, so he doesn’t attack me, you know. But the impression of the hunters was well kept in his mind, and he won’t let others come close to him.

Also you know about Storm, she was your birthday present that never leaves my shoulder, I’m very glad to have an owl like her.

You know that I practiced for some time to fight with the staff, but with my parent’s death I had to stop.

About glasses, I bought them for three Silverbards to an elder earth mage, he asured me they would help me to see for the next three thousands years, but I doubut that. Still I have them.

You know all that happened later — Orril ended, a long silence happened, before the visitor asked — And what about the incident? Tell me, you didn’t have something to do with it? — Orril said — Well, I don’t have anything more to lose; swear me that you will never tell someone what I’m going to tell you — The young girl promised and Orril continued — That night I was sleeping, when someone came into my room and started taking my things. He was leaving when I followed him, covered with the Vanish spell, but accidents happen, and I fell to the ground. The burglar noticed that and tried to cut me in pieces; he lifted his knife and all that I could do was defend myself, I clapped my hands, and the lighting killed him.

I returned to my bedroom, but… someone saw me, the Archmage himself, in less than a day, I was sitting in front of him, telling all this — Orril ended, the visitor covered her mouth with horror, but said nothing more. — See why I wasn’t willing to tell my past? This was a secret between the Archmage and me, but someone else knows that now aside from you, so all I can do is get out of here before the thieves guild fin me, or find the one who have my secret, you know, after all, I need to go out, I started here when I was 21 and now I’m 385 years old, the world is big, and I wish to see it before my days end. — Orril stopped talking; the other mage used this silence to ask — What about our graduation? You will stay until tomorrow? — Orril nodded, and said to finish — I will stay, but once finished with our graduation I will leave. Now would you like a cup of tea? — The night passed over, and at the next morning Orril attended to the big party of graduation, fireworks, music, and even spell competitions were made between the elemental schools, celebrating the graduation of few new mages. After 364 years Orril was finally graduating, the joy was suddenly suppressed by a strong and deep sadness, that night he would run away, followed only by Storm and Shadow.

Magic
I studied at Ximax, in the Tower of Skies, becoming very good with spells like clap of thunder and static trap, preferring the attack over defense. In my scholarly years I became famous among my class for the most accurate clap of thunder and the longest walk in the air done by a novice. (I consider novice from the level one to level three, because in that period of time, I was very unskilled. and fizzled my spells frequently)

What made me choose the wind? There are several reasons. I hate the fire, it is uncontrollable and unpredictable, also unstable, but hides all this in its beautiful appearance I can't stand the destruction hidden in it, that is hypocrisy.

Earth and water are not my elements; I never dared to step close to the Tower of Earth, fearing that the earth would swallow me. Not to say the Tower of the Sea was any less fearsome, I never came close, fearing... fearing its unbearable icy punishment.

Wind is another story, since I have memory I dreamed to soar in the sky, later, I was fascinated with the sky, I dared to step the Tower of Skies because I was very sure I could be a wind mage, and only that made me try.

Why I prefer attack over defense? easy, if you attack, there's more chances to get alive than defending, that's why I focused on attack, like the old saying "attack is the best defense".

I graduated one year ago, at level six, now I'm thinking seriously to travel the world, I want to see as many things I can before my time ends.

Belongings
A spell book, a bag for reagents, another for travel, a pouch of money, cloths, a staff, a pair of glasses, and change of clothes.

Familiars
.
A horned owl that I got as birthday present named “Storm” and a lone wolf named "Shadow"

Storm: She is a bit aggressive with strangers, but with kids it’s all the opposite. She likes to get caressed on the head and under the beak. I think that she fancies me; she hears me and does almost all that I ask her to do, I say almost, because sometimes she won’t obey. I never tried to put her in a cage, so you may see her over my shoulder.

I got Storm on my birthday one year before I graduated, so it’s young to say, I think no more than a year since she left the nest.

•Shadow: He is a wolf that I found in a trip with hunters. He was just a pup when I found him and I couldn't resist taking him with me, since his pack was killed by my party, or that is what I think.

Shadow grew thinking that I was the Alpha of his lost pack, so he respects me; he eats my leftovers, so it's not a problem to feed him. He is good at catching things, and making my room a mess too. He is playful, and a good familiar. I think that Avá sent him to me as a response for the killing of his pack.

Around some people, he gets nervous. He doesn’t attack the others, but doesn’t let them touch him. With kids he is playful as with me. Why? A good question. I think that’s because he associates the older people to the hunters, and the kids to something that’s inoffensive.

Elf, Injerín

1. An Injerin elf cannot be a ped and two fores tall. Since the average elf of that tribe is two peds tall, it is possible for one to be slightly taller or slightly shorter but a fore is too much of a difference.

2. His skill with wind magic should be listed as a strength, as should his skill with his daggers.

3. As a magical char, you'll need a magic section. Nothing fancy, just tell us where he trained, how long he trained, and what his abilities are.

4. Twelve years is too young of an age for an elf to attend Ximax. Using the EAC, I've determined that your elf would have to be at least twenty one years old.

Roads go ever ever on,
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where never sun has shone,
By streams that never find the sea.

Lol, the irony. EzBoards logged me out when I tried to post this :)

Anyway, are you still logged in? There should be an edit button under your name.

If you don't see one, check out the FAQ, that might help (there's a link to it in my sig and I think on the main page of this board).

Well, I make some minor modifications after see many other chars, I think its nothing to pay much atention, and if I have more time (thing I don't wish) I will make far longer the story, right now I'm going to use maps :D  to locate the place of origin, and Ximax to be a bit more exact with the story.

'Piggy'?  This isn't Lord of the Flies, people... :p

The unit of weight is a 'pygge' - pronounced 'pig'.
The plural is 'pygges', pronounced 'pigz'.

Master Mies'efer', don't take this personally; it's just that I've seen this error crop up more than once here, and would like to draw the moderators' attention to it...

Name
So Orril Miés'efér.

Picture

•Gender
Male.

•Age
Appearance 31, really 385.

•Race
Elf.

•Tribe
Injerín and Aellenrhim.

•Title
Mage of the silver wind.

• Physical Appearance
With almost 31 years in appearance and 385 in elf age I’m tall, with two peds and a palmspan.
What has the first to do with the second?

I have gold hair and deep yellow eyes, reaching the Strata yellow, I don’t like to use full beard, having care to shave myself when it starts to appear. My nose is neither big nor small, just the right size, and is a bit angular. My eyes are incrusted deep in my face, so if the light hits me in certain angles the shadow will cover totally my eyes and let you see them literally shine. I’m skinny, making its cheekbones to appear bigger than what they are really. My ears, as many in the elf, are pointed. My skin is a bit tanned, for the long exposition to sun (well, let’s see if you don’t tan after almost 300 years doing fieldwork).

• Clothes
I tend to wear a light green shirt, and trousers of a vivid green, as you may see I don’t bother searching for combinating colors; also I like to wear white things, specially a tunic that was a gift of his grandfather.

• Personality
I’m a calmed person, that is very hard to make angry, however once enraged is also hard to stop me. I like the kids, and the students too, so if you have a problem just knock my door and I will gladly help you. As a mage you may see that I have a strong willpower and focus. I hate the hypocrisy, and the fault of honor or courage. I love to write, but also do some sports, thing I did almost all my life, running from one place to other and rushing over new discoveries. Ho that’s right, I rushes over things, wishing to end quickly and be free to continue with more and more, and more, if you see me, you will think that I never gets tired, but many times I get exhausted without notice. Other thing, I love is to sleep until late, some people think that I’m a bit rare, cause I stay awake almost all the afternoon and night and sleeps almost all the morning, so for say it fast he loves the night, and this is reflected on my familiars, a wolf and a owl.

• Strengths and Weaknesses
a) Strengths
My biggest strength is my willpower, once I proposes something I will do it at the price it cost. Another strength is my focus, once focused in something I won’t leave it. And my last strength is my speed, if I’m afraid or intimidated I will run away faster than a wink. My wind magic helps in many occasions, as I’m good with it, but especially good with offensive spells. The daggers are my weapon, I’m not so good with them, but neither bad to say, just know how to use them.
b) Weaknesses
My biggest weakness is my honor sense, it gets me in many problems, and only because I tries to defend what I believes is right. Other of my weakness is my lack of physical resistance; I can run fast, but for short periods of time, after I will need rest invariably. Other weakness is my curiosity, which gets me in troubles as often as my honor. Another weakness is that if I get angry, I will be hard to calm down again. Also I’m not very muscular to say, so I’m not very good handling big things (such a long sword) nor heavy ones (another reason to chose wind magic).

• History
I was born in O'kroi'parda'ael ("The Everlasting War in the West") son of one Injerín and one Aellenrhim, and grandson of one member of the council. We moved when I was 6 years old to Avá’ewelín (“beauty of life”) were my grandpa suggested to my family to live,

Why do you have a mother from the Bolderforest ? They rarely leave their forest and thus it couldn‘t happen accidentiaclly that they met.
you should mentin, that htese places are in the Shaded Forest

after some years there I started to interest in magic, but since I didn’t liked the destructive power of fire, and don’t have affinity with it, I chose the wind. That happened one day when I was almost 21 years old, when I was seeing the garden in the center of the city tell your reader, that this is a botanical garden famous over the borders of the city whispered to my ear “come with us” so when my grandparent asked him about going to Ximax I replayed happily “yes I’m going”. I packed all my things and went with my Grandpa, who send me to Ximax.

my journey begun in river, going all the way down Laquados River, Luquador!!! until the Worldquest, resting in one village, at the next day take the Quest river until the Mountains of Oro, from there, were twenty four days camping at the shadows of the mountains, where the caravan was attacked by thefts.
I doubt that anyone sane in his mind goes out of free will to the mountains of Oro. You need to read the entries, not just look at the map. The Tandalas can not be crossed by normal people - you have to take a ship. The most popular way to get to Santharia is from the Kuglimz territory

Slowly we reached the Nyermersys lands, and stopped to rest in Astran, where I bought a pair of daggers, only in case there were more thefts. Two days after we reached Weyring, and go all until reaching Voldar, where I take a boat again and went up river until Cemphiria. The next day after reaching Cemphiria continued my journey, reaching Salsair in less than two days, and going to Hort, where we prepared for bordering the Shivering Woods. At this point I heard again the spirits, saying I was close to his destiny. Few minutes passed after hearing the spirits when we got out of the Woods. Few days later I saw the grate city of Ximax.

In short time we reached the Magic Academy of Ximax, where I put all my efforts to become a great mage, and following the whisper went to the wind magic school. How long did you study? Be a bit more precise! Once in Ximax I bought a spell book, as many of the others usually do, and a new bag for reagents.
In my years of study I got two familiars, a horned owl named "Strom" and a lone wolf named "Shadow" this two were a "birthdate present" since Storm was it and Shadow was found that same day going around the academy lone and lost.
I studied from my 21 to my 385 years, becoming a good mage. Comments But notices of his grandpa falling ill got me out of the school. Now I’m in my journey to return to see my grandpa.

• Magic
I studied in Ximax, in the wind school, becoming very good with spells like clap of thunder and static trap, preferring the attack over defense. In my scholar years I become famous among my class for the most accurate clap of thunder and the longest walk in the air done by a newbie.

Here you need a magic expert, it could be a bit more elaborated, you stidied there for quite some time - in 350 years you must have to tell something!

• Weapons
Two daggers

• Belongings
A spell book, a bag for reagents, another for travel and two daggers.

• Familiars
A horned owl that got as birthdate present named “Storm” and a lone-errand wolf named "Shadow"

• Height
Two peds and one palmspan.

• Weight
a Pygge and a Hafeb

Orril, you need to go through your CD and search for grammar errors and wrong spelling! I know you did probably a spellcheck, so you have to try to find them by yourself. Wait before posting a day and read through it again. Look into the dic when you are not sure. You should be able to find things like ‚grate‘ instead of ‚great‘ . I still have many mistakes in my submissions as well which other people have to point out to me (especially if I post too quickly) , but your CD is really hard to read. Write shorter sentences, that helps as well. Your English will only improve IF you try to correct it.

***Astropic of the day***
