Just some guidelines for this role play.

Greybark’s 10 Commandments of Role Playing

1. Thou shalt not play God
2. Thou shalt not solve all the problems of the universe all by yourself.
3. Thou shalt add details to your writing to keep it from being boring.
4. Thou shalt be true to the character of your character.
5. Thou shalt make sense.
6. Thou shalt not kill other characters or decide what damage they get.
7. Thou shalt be patient for other characters to post.
8. THOU SHALT NOT WRITE IN ALL CAPS AS IT IS HIGHLY ANNOYING.
9. Tho shlt nat us fels spillin n gremmmer.
10. Thou shalt not decide thy neighbor’s actions, or his wife's actions, or his ox's actions....

This Story and Your Story Moderator

Sort of unconventional and borderline narcissistic, but I wanted to add in this section so you know my philosophy regarding running a role play:

  • Activity: This story was created for the sake of stirring things up--and to keep things going, you need to stay active.
    • If you don’t post after 3 days, I get to control your character (bwahaha).
    • If you don’t post in the course of two weeks, I get to ‘dispose’ of your character in a matter to my liking (bwahahahaha).
Exceptions made if you let me know ahead-of-time.

  • Communication: Having issues with the way someone is acting? Bored with the way the story is going? Planning on leaving for Thailand for four months? Let me know! I can help find a solution, but if I don’t know, I can’t help.

  • Quality: I don’t care how much you write, as long as you write it well. Good writers don’t turn sentences into pages; they turn pages into sentences. Brevity is the soul of wit, quality over quantity, and all that jazz.

  • Collaboration: Role plays don’t work with just one person. (After all, if I wanted a one-person role play, I would just write a story!) Got an idea? Let me know, either in OOC or PM. I invite digressions, side-stories, or custom adventures to the story!

  • Spontaneity: See an opening for a sudden boar attack? An opportunity for an ambush? An occasion for your character to have a nervous breakdown? Take it! The story here is flexible, and there’s no reason to pass up a good idea. Just make sure you do it in moderation and with good judgment.
