Name: “Jin” Jameson Hearth
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Race: Human
Tribe: Caltharian
Occupation: Intelligencer/Assassin
Title: Opportunistic Backstabber

Overview:
Jin is a man of many different personalities who will cause as many problems as possible and screw over as many people as possible. He often works as a spy, assassin or in some other sort of undercover work.

Height: 1 Ped, 2 Fores, 1 Palmspan and 1 Nailsbreadth
Weight: 1 Pygge, 3 Hebs, 1 Hafeb and 1 Od
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Green

Physical Appearance:
Jin is a light weight man whose size is not a very daunting whatsoever. Despite his lack of mass his body is still well defined. His skin is quite fair and one could say it resembles the perfection and lack of color that a baby would have. Jin’s hair is a very light blonde, in some lights almost appearing white, and always long.

Clothing:
Normally Jin wears a pair of black pants that have a special pocket to conceal a Judgment Quill on the lower part of his right leg, a specially made black belt that has two sheaths for his daggers on the back of the belt and a dark grey long sleeve shirt that has a very small cloth ring on the inside of the right sleeve that holds a Judgment Quill when needed. He also has a long black hooded cloak that he uses to conceal himself. Inside the cloak is a pocket that contains a pair of black gloves.

Personality:
When it all comes down to it Jin cares about Jin. His whole life he has been used and stabbed in the back and now he refuses to let it happen again. He will not let anyone get close though he prides himself in the ability to appear emotionally attached. He has made a career out of screwing people over and he will do anything that he believes needs to be done to maintain the way of life he would desire to live. If that means screwing over someone who he has known all his life, then so be it.

He often displays a personality of a completely different person and it may change from time to time. His outwardly expressed personality at the moment strictly depends on what is going on. He is very skilled at making people believe and trust in him, but tries his hardest to never believe or trust in anyone else.

Forgetting all the lies, the true Jin is most of the time rather calm and hard to bring to anger. He is intelligent, a quick thinker and likes to plan things out. He occasionally enjoys causing trouble for no apparent reason other than his amusement. He trusts no one and one of his biggest fears is getting close to someone. Because of this he has a fear of women due to deep down him wanting the attention and affection of a woman in his life. He does not indulge in alcohol often due to fear of losing control and opening up. Currently anger does not play much a role in his life as he does not care much about what happens as long as he has a way out.

Which leads to another strange thing about Jin, he is extremely claustrophobic. This is not a debilitating ordeal for Jin as he can control himself most of the time as long as he sees that he has a way out, but this is not about small areas it’s about control. If Jin feels that he has control and he can end it whenever he wants he is fine, but if he is put in a situation where he has nowhere to go then he starts to see the walls collapsing in on him. This means even on a huge boat Jin can become quite claustrophobic due to him not having a choice of where to go. When this happens he becomes very angry and unpredictable.

Strengths:
Stealth - Jin is talented enough to hide from the most observant of person within a moment’s notice.
Assassination - He knows very well how to kill someone with a small weapon very quickly and quietly so long as they do not see him.
Acting - He is a great actor and very capable of pulling of any role that he desires and making others believe it without question.
Lock picking - He can pick some of the most complicated locks ever made due to years of practice.
Very Agile – He is able to move quickly and with suppleness, skill, and control.

Weaknesses:
Physically Weak – Jin is much weaker than most and must rely completely on stealth in just about any fight.
Claustrophobic – In situations where he feels like he has lost control or has no way out he can start to over react, become violent and/or act emotionally rather than thinking things through.
Strong Distrust – He trusts almost no one and desires to depend on no one. This puts him in a position many of time where he has to do things on his own that others would have help with. This also causes great anxiety for him if he starts to get close to someone due to the fact that he desires to push everyone away.
Women – Like most men, deep down Jin desires to enjoy the loving and long lasting embrace of a woman, but due to his trust issues he will not allow this to happen. Despite what he allows the feelings are still there and cause him a great deal of problems at times and make him sometimes act strangely around women.

History:
Adorra Hearth was a very poor woman for most of her life. She gave birth to three kids, all three from different fathers, and only one did she know who the father was. The first born of the three did not have a name since Adorra did not desire to have a kid in the first place and he only lasted to the young age of two months before he died. The second child, Eli, was taken by a wealthy woman whose heart bled for the one year old child in her miserable condition. Adorra did not give up the child willingly at first, but at the first sign of payment the ever so slight attachment between mother, and I use that word loosely, and child was easily severed. The third child's name was Jin.

Adorra was, to put it nicely, a very ugly woman. At one point in her life, long ago, she would have been quite a beautiful sight to behold but her rough lifestyle had destroyed anything beautiful about her. At one point she had a very nice life, filled with beautiful items and soft clean clothes. Her parents were quite well off during her childhood and all would have gone much differently for her if, when she was ten, her father would not have been hung by his neck due to some very shady dealings with very shady people. Her mother fled the city, leaving Adorra behind, andwas never heard from again. Adorra was then taken in by her disgusting uncle who led a lifestyle of such that before he died she had already begun to sell her body for money and food.

When Jin’s father came into the picture Adorra was in bad shape. He came across her, beaten and bloodied, face down in a dark ally. He helped her to the best of his abilities by clothing her, feeding her and even provided a bed for her to sleep in for the night. At first she was quite angry with him and very vocally abusive due to her not knowing why he was helping her. He left it at that and went about his business, but over the next couple of years he made sure to go by to see her whenever he could. At first he only showed up once a month or so but after time passed he started showing up more and more until he was with Adorra more than he was away from her. Months into knowing him Adorra also had stopped selling her body except when she felt she had little choice. After a year Adorra became pregnant and as luck would have it Jin’s knack for destroying other people’s lives would soon be created.

While Jin’s father was gone for business Adorra became aware of her pregnancy and even if short lived, she was happy. The moment he was back Adorra could not hold back her excitement and she let loose all her joy as she told him the news. His response was not what she had expected; he was shocked and even slightly scared. He stammered and asked her how she felt about it and to make matters worse he was due to leave again. Normally he would have passed on this trip and instead stayed home but with this news he was eager to leave and have time to himself for thought.

This was quite devastating to Adorra and she felt alone but she was sure he would return. When the caravan he normally traveled with arrived back home the other traders told Adorra that he never met up with them and had left without him.

Jin was born to a once again poor woman who blamed him for all her problems. Most of all running off the man she loved. Through his very young years Jin spent his time taking care of his mother and doing her bidding. As he grew older he became disgusted with his mother and became quite disobedient towards her. He started spending more time on the streets with his “friends” than he ever did at home. By the time he was ten Jin spend almost all of his time gone from his home, coming home just long enough to grab something to eat, if there was anything, and maybe stay the night.

He was now part of a small group of kids, all of which close in age, who called themselves The Forgotten. It all started out simple enough, over food. Jin and two others would steal food and share it with each other. Slowly other kids just started showing up, one by one. Next thing you know Jin is leading, kind of, a group of about fifteen to twenty kids. Most of the kids just did as they pleased and Jin liked it that way but when he wanted something, everyone just seemed to go with what he said. They moved up from stealing food to stealing other items that they would think worth something.

By age fifteen they were stealing items pretty regularly by request, mainly for shady shop owners or the trash that walked the street and always for a ridiculously low price. They did enough to draw attention to themselves quite regularly and many of them had been arrested numerous times. At this point there were only about ten of them left and as they grew older they all started drifting apart.

By age seventeen Jin was completely on his own as his “friends” had either all been killed, jailed or vanished and his worthless mother had died from some sickness  that no one seemed to know or care what it was. To survive Jin made quite a hobby out of theft. By now he was pretty good at sneaking around and breaking into people’s houses. He also had one store owner who would, on a regular basis, buy whatever it was he had to sell and even on occasion make request from him. Up until age seventeen Jin’s activities had to do with theft and other stealthy adventures, but one cannot become rich of off selling stolen items at a quarter the price they are worth. A certain man owed Jin’s shop owner a lot of money, and this certain man was not worth the air he breathed. He had nothing to steal and attempts at beating the money out of him had failed over and over, but the plus side of having a young man who you don’t care about working for you is that you can have him do things that you would never do yourself. Jin’s shopkeeper wanted this man dead and he was willing to pay Jin more than he had ever seen in his life. The shopkeeper gave Jin his very first Judgment Quill and he was off to earn his wages.

The job seemed very simple to Jin from the very start. He found himself having no trouble sneaking up behind this man as he sat by himself in a chair just outside one of the local taverns. He sat so close to the man that he could see a bead of sweat flow down his neck and smell the pungent odor of a man who had not bathed in many days, if not weeks. He allowed the Quill to slip from under his sleeve and to rest in the palm of his hand. Jin then raised the Quill and in one smooth thrust the Quill was inserted into the side of the man’s neck and as the man reached for his neck and gargled on his own blood another couple of thrust were placed in the side of his chest. By the time the man fell from the chair and hit the ground, Jin was gone.

As agreed Jin waited until a specific time and day to show back up at the shop to collect his pay. As he entered the shop four armed men stood around him and before he could react he heard the shopkeeper say “That’s the one!” Without a moment of hesitation the four men arrested Jin and removed from the back of his pants the murder weapon. As they hauled him off he said nothing.

Jin sat in a cold and dark room waiting, for what he did not know. He had just been thrown in without any explanation whatsoever. He was alone, more alone than he had ever been. He had grown used to depending on just himself but he had not grown used to the treachery that came with getting close to others. He did not know how long he had been sitting there or how long he would continue to sit there but in the distance he heard a man yelling. The man’s voice grew closer and closer and then two more voices could be heard with the first. Then the door opened and a young man in his mid to late twenties was tossed into the room face first and the door shut quickly behind him. As the sound of footsteps led away from the door the man slowly started to rise up and looked directly at Jin. “Your name boy, what is it?” Jin stayed silent. “You had better wise up son and make your choice now. I’ll only ask you once more, what’s your name?” Jin stared for a moment in confusion, what did he mean wise up and make your choice, but either way what did he have to lose? “Jin” he said very quietly. “I’ve heard of you boy, sold out right? Pretty stupid of you but how I hear it you’re good at what you do. I tell ya what you help me out when I give you the chance and I’ll take care of ya, but don’t ask any questions.” How he saw it Jin only had two choices, certain death or possible death. Jin nodded in acceptance and they man responded, “The names Barso.”

After a day of sitting in the dark room, with no food and only the dripping water from the ceiling to drink, a sound of footsteps graced the ears of the two prisoners. Barso quickly stood to the side of the door in an obvious ready stance to attack whoever opened the door. Jin’s mind raced with possibilities and all of which he pictured him and Barso being killed. There was sure to be more than one man and they are sure to be armed. There was no way that they would not look as they walked in and it was sure that they would both die, but even that seemed better than starving in this cold and dark prison. As the guard opened the door he did not look, he was armed but he was also alone. He stood in the door for a moment and then took a step in where he was promptly attacked by Barso. The guard had his head smashed against the wall and he dropped to the ground to rest in an involuntary sleep. Jin stood mouth gaped in astonishment at the absolute ease of escape. Barso turned to Jin, “We are not free yet boy, come.”

The two made their way through the prison where Jin not only recovered his Quill but he also used it multiple times to clear out their way. Mainly sticking to the shadows and only killing those who were in their way, escape seemed really easy. Barso did make Jin do all the work and didn’t do much but bark orders and stare intensely. He also wanted everyone they dealt with killed but Jin was not complaining as if it was not for him Jin would still be in the dark room rotting away. After they were clear of the prison Barso spoke highly of Jin and asked him to come work with him. Barso apparently worked for a small group of unnamed individuals who only met with Barso, but they always paid well. The work would vary and Barso had many different people that worked for him but it was to sweet of a deal for Jin to pass up. The only kicker was he had to move to Voldar and after he killed the double crossing shopkeeper that wouldn’t matter. The only problem was after Jin went to his shop, it was empty. When asking around he was told it’d been empty for a couple of days and no one knew what happened to him, he just left. As Jin knew though fate had a way of putting him in people’s lives at the right time to ruin everything for them, so he would move and wait.

Ten years passed and Jin had become quite wealthy and surprisingly not very well known which was good. This could mostly be attributed to the greatness of Jin’s skill but also partially to the fact that he worked for very rich men who appreciated his services very much. While in their employ he performed many various tasks including theft, assassination, spying, infiltration and many other tasks requiring stealth and secrecy. His life was great up until he saw him, the shopkeeper. He knew this day would come and there was no doubt in his mind he was ready for this task. It had been planned out many times in his head; he would sneak up on him and poison him. Not with a poison that would kill, but a poison that would make him sleep, and when he awoke he would be tied and ready for the reception of pain. It all went according to plan, except one thing. The plan was to slowly kill him for the double cross but instead the Shopkeeper had plenty to say that Jin found quite interesting. See it turned out the Shopkeeper sold Jin to Barso for quite a large sum and having him put in prison was all part of the plan. At first he did not believe it but when the Shopkeeper started telling him things he should not know, like the guard coming in and getting “knocked out” it all started to make sense. Why was the guard by himself, why did he never draw, why knock out that guard but make sure to kill everyone else? Jin felt like such a fool. Ten years of his life wasted working for a manipulating piece of… No not a waste. He had learned so much and though he had much more to learn he would not be where he was without the manipulation of Barso.

For telling him the truth about his past, the Shopkeeper died a quick death but now the question was what to do with Barso. He would have to kill him some day but fate would be the decider of when.

Weapons: A Judgment Quill and two curved daggers.

Hello Jameson,

You've been quite patient in waiting for comments. I read through your CD, and I must say I rather like the little intriguer :)

I will check with my co-mods if they have any problems, for myself I don't see any major problems except the spelling of some words. Perhaps use an online spellchecker, since the one on this boards seems to be dysfunctional? The problem is that those words are spelled correctly, they're just not the right word, so I'm not sure if a spellcheck will catch them.

To give some examples off the top of my head - in the overview you have well instead of will, in physical appearance you say his skin is fare - which should be fair, that sort of thing.

Sorry I am bad about that. The spell check in Microsoft Word does not fix those kind of errors. I have another spell checker to run it through though... my wife. I'll try and have all of those fixed by tomorrow before I go to work.

Thank you for your kind words.

It took a little longer than I had planned... there were lots of errors, but I believe it should be good now. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do. Thank you much.

Apart from some awkward sentences that are grammatically correct, here are some grammatical/spelling errors.  Some of these sentences were cleaned up for clarity.

The second child, Eli, was taken by a wealthy woman whose heart bled for the one year old child in her miserable condition. Adorra did not give up the child willingly at first, but at the first sign of payment the ever so slight attachment between mother, and I use that word loosely, and child was easily severed. Jin, when you've taken care of the grammatical issues Tak mentioned, I think you should be ok to be approved. Do take care not to godmode this character, your strengths are just a bit on the absolute side (hiding from the most observant person, acting any part, etc) so just take care not to overdo it :)
