Overview: the strange birds have naturally befriended brownies for years. As their size is about the same as 4 brownies they are used for riding, companship and unlawfully clothing.

Appearance:They are owls with feathers like those of a phoneix. They are differents shades of yellow, red and orange. They have hypnotic red eyes and glossy black beaks and talons. Their talons are sharper than any other bird's, unlike other owls which dig their claws into their prey, the phoneix owl tears it in half , usually to share it with their master/s. Their height when standing varies between male and female. The females tend to grow from 1 to 1 and 1/4 of a ped and the males about 3/4 of a ped. The both gender's wingspan is about 2 peds.

They are quite thin for an owl, they have more much more muscle than they do fat which allows great agility.

Territorty: All over saguna

Behaviour: Most of time one these amazing creatures will be hunting, being ridden or strangley participating in conversation ( providing they have been taught the laungage ).

Usages/abillitites: Since they were discovered travellers passing through saguna and the natives have used their feathers for decoration, jewlery and clothing. The brownies stopped doing this after some sort alliance was formed. This strange alliance between the brownies and the owls include a promise that all owls would assist the master. This means that they became used for many jobs like hunting, transport, collection, post, the list goes on.

The owls have a peculiar talent which allows their master to teach them their language. because they live among brownies most speak the brownish tounge but there have been cases where they speak tharian, stryash and the rare thergiam.

they are not sentient beings but more of a mimicking being.  they are in a sense setient but only respond to what they already know so their commumnication skills are very limited.

For some strange reason the owls posess a soothing warmth throughout the day, whatever the weather ; even in their sleep.

Owls are said to be the most itelligent of the birds, and the Phoneix Owl is smartest of them all. Using its Physical strength and agility combined with its superior intellect make them great hunters and messengers,As well being used for quick transport.

Diet: The owls only commonly hunt on small rodents like mice or other animals like teraps, sometimes the owls may group to take down a cattle or boar. Some crack walnuts or stones with their beak ,his is to improve their beak strength , not eat

Mating: Mating is like that of any bird.

Origin: The origin of the Phoenix owl is unknown but it is believed by the brownies they were owls resurcetted from ash. the birds were killled in a fire and kept some of fire's  abbilities, such as its colour and warmth.

The elves have story in which a necromancer made an owl immortal. When it was captured or burnt it could not die so is absorb the flames and binded with them.

An intriguing entry, but you need more detail, it's too sparse.
Look at some of the other bird entries.  Also, the wingspan has to be wider than the bird is tall to be able to support it in flight.  You may want to actually specify the Sarvonian terms (for instance, our rabbit is called a tarep, and the dwarven language is called Thergerim-Taal) to make your entry more authentic.

It's not quite clear whether your owl is actually a sentient being that can communicate intelligently or if it is more of a mimicking bird (such as the Earth parrot or crow, both of which can be taught to talk), so you may want to develop this a bit more.  If it is a sentient being, you'll probably need to get the okay from Artimidor on development; I'm not sure if that would break the NO NEW SENTIENT RACES rule.  You also need to co-ordinate with the Brownie developer (if he or she is still around) if you want the owl to partner them.

Interesting entry concept, though.  I'd like to see how you develop it further.

Good choice, Reo!  We need an owl entry, and the relationship between Brownies and owls is very important.

As Alysse has said, this will need more fleshing out and some details added, but a good start.  I really like the creative touches like the warmth of the owls and the legend, which all ties together to explain their name.  :clap

Unfortunately Greybark hasn't been around for ages, but in a week or so I'll be available to comment in my old role as Bestiary/Herbarium Mistress.  Moving house just now so frenetically busy!

Will chat later,
Regards from the moving-tomorrow-bard,

Ah, too bad that internet is so restricted in China, Ferra. Can't be much fun surfing the web that way if Big Brother's watching you... Hope you enjoy your stay nevertheless!

Hi, dear Arti and other developers!

This year I am in China and cannot use any Google services including YouTube. For this reason I stopped uploading new Nepris videos. I can also not read any comments there.

It just crossed my mind that this information might be useful to you.
