Goodday dear Sage,

in the poetry forum awaits a poem by Letitia, to me it's ready for uploading, but I'd like to have your approval. She has my blessing.

In the Misc. forum, we're discussing music. For musical instruments, I've created a template because one of our newbies, Petros, is playing around with them. Could you copy/paste that clearly visible in the thread at the top of the forum, for future reference? Much obliged, yours kindly,

Gean

Sunth It's baaaack!

I've gone over it, but can't think of how I can improve it. Hopefully it will be finished for the putative sight update.

Do you know, if there is a way to avoid the stickies to move around when somebody posts in them?
I would like to have the guidelines (in the cosm.forum) always in the first place, but the current actual threads sticky as well.

And could you please make Takór moderator as well (or replace Talia), Takór is the one who is knowledgable in religions.

To his amazement, Artimidor find upon entering his study a large fat Chorakee bird rummaging through his papers in search for food. Even stranger, someone attched a big stack of research papers on it's back. "Gee..." Artimidor said. "I wonder what they want me to do with this..."

Just a minor oddity, and I might just be going crazy, but...

In people's profiles you seem to have the . and , the wrong way round. Unless all the people I'm looking at do actually make 2k posts per day.

I think you have your definitions inversed.. a ',' is a decimal point, while a '.' is a millium, applied every thousandfold (in other words, after every third digit)

How entirely weird. Never heard of that!

I know we shouldn't be discussing in here, but all mathematics as I have been taught a . is a decimal point. i.e 3.14159 for Pi. And a , is a thousands seperator.

Is this an American thing, or everywhere-but-UK thing, or simply a preference and either is correct?

EDIT :

Lol, unless it's the Santharian way of doing it? That didn't occur to me.

Sorry Art for cluttering your bellring..

Pi is 3,14  all my life long ... and if  -  in an online money tranfer  - I put a dot instead of a comma I fear my money is gone ;)

Perhaps it is a Continental difference?

Us Canucks  are taught to record money this way:

$ 10,234.50   would be ten thousand, two hundred and thirty-four dollars and fifty cents.

A comma separates thousands, while a dot indicates anything under a dollar (or a hundredth, I guess)  We write checks and do math the same way...

Pi = 3.1415 etc.!   Oh, and a dot is also an abbreviation or a period or a full stop...  :)

I'm amazed you can see the Altario projects pile considering it is dwarfed by my unfinished projects. For which I apologise.

I think they're under that big pile of unfinished Altario projects.  :)
