Ok, Curgan - I've added in this comment at the appropriate location in the text of the first post, so that we don't forget it when defining events in greater detail.

Throwing this back up, I know it'd be useful for I, I'm sure it will help others. Is this all considered "canon"?

Not as much as if would be on the site, but yes, otherwise we would have not put it up. But it is of course open for discussion.

Dragging up an old thread - but this holds pretty much the only mentions of Sunth that I can find...

Quote
886 - Taking of Parthanul and Sunth on the east coast.

889-899 - Retaking of Parthanul and Sunth by supporting Caltharian forces, shipped in by the Stormcloaks guild, mving over Crazy Woman pass. In the following decade constant conflict takes place at the east coast above the Mashdai.

I'm struggling to put these in context. This is some 11 millenia after the Glandorians took over the area, and started mixing with the Darian to form the Avennorian tribe that exists today.

So who are these forces attacking the area some 800 years ago? Why is there no mention of the Avennorians in this war that seems to encompass much of Manthria?

I'm missing something crucial I think. Can anyone shed light?

Well, we're talking about the United Kingdom of Santharia here, which is - pretty much so at the end of the 9th century a.S. - a unified kingdom, where tribes have mixed. Of course there are still predominantly Avennorians in that region, so if someone's attacked there, this is mainly the tribe we're talking about. But of course this means that Santharia as a whole is in danger.

The attackers come from the south, and in the sketched history you can read in this thread are currently referred to as "Thairians", actually evil guys from Shan'Thai (continent of Aeruillin). If you check some earlier events you should get a better picture, yet it is all still sketchy as of yet.

P.S. We eventually might have to seriously think about renaming these "Thairians", because it all sounds somewhat similar - Tharian (language/mixed tribe at the time of Thar), Thairians (Shan'Thai guys), Darian humans (tribe on Santharian soil before the Avennorians arrived there), Daran gnomes... A better distinction couldn't hurt.

Aah - thanks Arti, that makes sense, and yes the names are a little too similar. Worth mentioning Sunth's takeover by them, or leave it for now until this history is worked out?

Well, you could put that in already, because what we've sketched should be the bones on which we add just more flesh. Obviously it makes sense that troops move over this location, so it should be already in the entry. And whenever something historical is defined and integrated in an official table on site, it serves at least as a point of discussion should it need to be adjusted. Better have it than not I'd say :)

Darn, oh, sorry! I didn't scroll down, just looked at the pencil  buck  But then it is too difficult to find, if I failed a second time! I have to reread your explanation again where to find it.

I'm amazed you can see the Altario projects pile considering it is dwarfed by my unfinished projects. For which I apologise.

I think they're under that big pile of unfinished Altario projects.  :)
