MASTER PLAN FOR THE SANTHARIAN PROVINCE OF MANTHRIA

Master Plan Goal Definitions

How should Master Plans look like?
Each given section should contain a list of tasks that can be done to fulfill part of the overall goal - be it to suggest entry proposals, collecting data, drawing a rough map to illustrate something so that other works can use that as basis etc. Important is that the results of such a goal should be able to make it to the site once that goal is finished - this is not always directly possible, but has to be prime directive. As various things drown in the gigantic monstrous gorge also known as the "Forum Depths" in Santharian jargon, it has to be ensured that this monster isn't fed with our goals.

Goals can be roughly defined by simply mentioning the entry that should be made, or in more detail by adding in a few lines in what direction something should be developed. Important is not so much the precise definition of the goal (a rough sketch on a Places entry could already be found e.g. in the Places Forum), key is the inspiration these goals produce, and thus eventually the results.

Places and Geography

Places and Geography comprises everything that has to do with major settlements of people or settlements of importance for people or geographical occurences worth mentioning that has an influence on the people living there - or not living there.

Entries and Works of Essence for this region can be summarized as follows:

  • Writing down Mini-Descriptions
A first key task can be to write down mini-descriptions to go with the Manthrian Map. Namely of all the places mentioned below, where descriptions have not been sketched properly as of yet.

  • The Auturian Woods
    Reserved for Miraran.
Elven forests, home of the Tethinrhim elves. Rough entry already existing, needs revision.

  • The Town of Chrondra
    Reserved for Grunok.

  • Kor Mithrid
Main dwarven settlement in the Mithral Mountains.

  • Klinsor
Major Avennorian town on the Yanthain Gulf.

  • Fang Julin
Another larger town near Ciosa, in between the Tantaryan and the Caaytharin Mountains, probably one of the earliest Avennorian settlements aside from Ciosa.

  • Caeytharin Mountains
A massive mountain range in eastern Manthria, featuring Mount Evermourn and the Deep Julin Barrows, the place where the famous Troi Ciosa found his rest.

  • Tolonian Heath
Largest Heath in the province of Manthria, located south of the Autiurian Woods.

  • The Griffin's Marl
    Reserved for Takór Salenár.
This small mountain stock is the source of many myths and legends. Not only its strange appearance, the rectangular tall poles stratified together at its sides by elemental forces long ago or the overall black summit which towers over the surrounding plains has brought forward many good stories, it has seen many battles and history was written at its base already before castle Thunderclaim was erected.

  • Ravenport
    Reserved for Gean Firefeet.
One of the western ports of the Manthrian province near the Gulf of Maraya, close to the Auturian Woods and the Tethinrhim Elves.

  • Ciosa's Rest (Deep Julin Barrows)
    Reserved for Artimidor.
Ciosa's Rest is an enormous stone covered area to the south of the Caeythrian Mountains at the east coast of the Manthrian province in central Santharia. The region was named after Troi Ciosa, one of the famous Glandorian captains, who led his people from the north until Gebl's Nose Cape. There you can find today the port called "Ciosa", one of the first settlements of the tribe we know today as the Avennorians. Ciosa was interred at the foot of Mount Evermourn in a proud, but scarely ornamented stone mausoleum, far away actually from the town which bears his name. However, his resting place in this practically deserted area also stands for Ciosa's strong will and determination to master the odds and venture forth into inhospitable no-man's-land, which led the former Glandorians to a new home and undescribable wealth. At Ciosa's side a series of barrows was erected in the course of time, harbouring the remains of his successors and the most wealthy or famous Avennorians, who earned great merits for their people.

Resources and Essentials

With "Resources and Essentials" we mean all kind of stuff that is needed for a region, which helps to also define it. Resources can be minerals, but also beasts and plants, rivers, Essentials can be inventions made in that region, thus gear and tools, magical artifacts or books which are of the uttermost importance for the area and the people living there.

Entries/works of essence in this regard are as follows:

  • Development Resources Map
A rough development resources map should guarantee much more efficient development regarding existing minerals, wood types etc.

  • The Avennorian Tribe: Resources section
Needs revision, as it is pretty outdated.

People and Tribes

The People section contains all kinds of things related to people in this region, be it something related to the tribe as a whole or single celebrities, historical key characters etc.

Entries of essence for this section are as follows:

  • The Avennorian Tribe: Clothing section
    (reserved Takór)
Needs revision, as it is pretty outdated.

  • The Avennorian Tribe: Diet section
Needs revision, as it is pretty outdated.

  • The Avennorian Tribe: Occupations section
Needs revision, as it is pretty outdated.

  • The Avennorian Tribe: Government section
Needs revision, as it is pretty outdated.

  • The Avennorian Tribe: Production/Trade section
Needs revision, as it is pretty outdated.

  • The Avennorian Tribe: Holiday/Festivals/Observances section
Needs revision, as it is pretty outdated.

  • The Avennorian Tribe: Tribal Language section
    (completed by Artimidor)
Needs to be added, similar to the Erpheronian example (details by Judy already existing).

  • The Avennorian Tribe: Nomenclature section
    (completed by Artimidor)
Concepts for Location names, Male and Female names, Secondary names scheme need to be elaborated (see Epheronian example), working with the Santharian Names Generator recommended, but not required.

  • The Tethinrhim Tribe: Revision
A revision of the Tethinrhim tribe entry is definitely necessary, taking in what we've learned so far on the Avennorians. Historical events should be integrated properly.

History

History comprises all kinds of major events that lead to what we have in the region now, that provide background. Background can mean sketching timelines (as flexible as they still might be at first) for tribe development, defining timespans of regents, but providing background can also mean writing detailed entries on key events. Both, the rough timelines and elaboration of the key events are of the uttermost importance.

  • Timeline: The Avennorian/Darian Relationship
A rough timeline with concrete, briefly described events regarding the relationship between the Avennorians (former Glandorians) and the Darian tribe (Sarvonian, more primitve "natives") needs to be elaborated.

  • Timeline: The Avennorian/Sophronian Relationship
A rough timeline with concrete, breifly described events regarding the relationship between the Avennorians (former Glandorians) and the Sophronians (tribe that has settled in the north of Avennorian territory) needs to be sketched.

Recent Situation

In this section we should try to accumulate all kinds of entries that help to contribute to what this region represents today. This section should help so that one can easily look up territory borders, division of the land in duchies, fiefs etc., important contemporary people and recent developments worth of note like inventions, introductions of laws, recently fought wars or politicial disputes - you get the picture.

Entries of essence for this section are as follows:

  • The Manthrian Provinces entry
The Manthrian provinces entry needs to be written, summarizing everything of importance in this region that is of contemporary relevance. This is a major entry and a breakdown in several sections can be though of. - A first task would be to define which sub-sections we'd like to have at the entry.

  • The Thane of Manthria
    (completed by Arecon)
Entry on the current Thane (provincial leader) of the Santharian Province of Manthria.

  • Main settlements Overview
Should contain all key towns including tribal/racial ratios, inhabitant numbers and a short description of the town in question.

Ah, too bad that internet is so restricted in China, Ferra. Can't be much fun surfing the web that way if Big Brother's watching you... Hope you enjoy your stay nevertheless!

Hi, dear Arti and other developers!

This year I am in China and cannot use any Google services including YouTube. For this reason I stopped uploading new Nepris videos. I can also not read any comments there.

It just crossed my mind that this information might be useful to you.

Cheers

Short note: We had a bit of downtime Friday/Saturday night due to a server change. Site went online first, message boards took a while longer - now everything should be back to normal.
