Feel free to discuss everything here related to the definition of Master Plans.

Here the links to the other key threads currently in progress:

Ok, I thought you wanted to discuss here only the idea/scheme of the masterplan itself, not collect things for the Manthria masterplan. Maybe you could do two threads? One for adding ideas to the scheme/idea  of the masterplan  (if you intended this) and one for Manthria specifically? And for any other masterplan which might come up? (Nybelmar f.e.)

Apart from that, hat masterplan concept is great.

Proposal person's entry: The current King Tiandor

Actually i started already. However, it is not so easy to do it alone. I have the help of Judy and Alysse of course, but I would like to propose the following:

Once the current team project about currency etc is done or on the way, we start a new one: "Achievements of the current king and his predecessors  - what was invented in the last 50 years or something like this.

However, I want to have (along with Judy and Alysse) the last word on what exactly he has done etc, about things which concern mainly him, for i fear that there will be many contrary opinions that we will never come to an end. We three will finally decide about the king himself (including history) and pick out of the proposals what we think fits best. Of course the finished submission will be open to more comments as well.

Should we use the proposal form?

Could these master plans allow development into as-yet uncharted areas? Perhaps we etch out what needs to be done, finish that, allow dev. to continue, and then open other continents for devving, keeping newbs away and making these areas highly focused "run by plan" areas, at least until they are ready for full-blast integration?

I had all sorts of marvelous things to say but this monstrous board ate my post! ("Sorry you're not allowed to post in this thread" - How dare it! lol) Now I can't remember all I wrote :P but:

"Key persons" & "religion/ prevelant beliefs" could be added, either under People or as individual sections depending on the context.

@Takór: Well, here we also can see that there might be a direct relation between projects and DMPs. A project could be defined as a DMP. E.g. a larger entry like the Tiandor one can be split up, smaller tasks can be defined, and then realized. Each person could take a section or a certain aspect of an entry and this would serve as a blueprint for the project. The same thing might apply e.g. to the Santhros entry - here as far as I remember you also have some concrete ideas already on his Appearance or Character, so we might do this as well as some sort of joint-venture - split things up in more digestible pieces, and then piece it together.

The current money project unfortunately seems to have the problem that people wait for the definition of the ultimate exchange rate before doing any prices. Seems to be a matter of organizing this first step properly, which is not easy in this case.

@Nsiki: We're not as far as to open up other continents as long as we haven't done our homework on the core parts of the world. We first need to do substantial progress in Santharia. We do these Master Plans, because e.g. in Manthria there was quite a bit of progress, but it wasn't focussed. We need to focus. Not only on Manthria, but on adjacent provinces and tribes. We are expanding, but not in completely uncharted waters. At least that's what I would suggest.

@Coren: "Not allowed to post in this thread?" Strange...

Yep, things can be expanded, but maybe it's not so bad to keep the sections themselves small and simple. E.g. put under People everything that has to do with Tribes, Celebrities or Key Persons, so that we don't have 17 sections, but a few you can overlook more easily. Religion (if not overly dominating over everything else) would be part of the Tribe entry methinks and listed as a section that needs to be done for the People section. Well, I guess I should add stuff so that one can actually see how the results will look like.

Btw Arti, perhaps you could also include the links to both the Manthrian Masterplan and the original concept under your first post here, so we won't have to keep searching for them?

EDIT: Ignore this! I didn't realize they were all in the same forum!

Hello Arti - you wouldn't happen to have the template you used for the Mantharian Masterplan for a certain lazy developer who cannot figure out all the niceties of board coding?

Here you go - source code of the Manthrian Masterplan thread (right-click and Save As...)

Manthrian Masterplan

Contains the first three posts, so you get the idea. The linking is done by using anchor tags, which are addressed through iurl links.

Thank you! I guess we are finally making progress in this area - Nybelmar sorely needed what you did for Manthria :)

:sigh: There are so many more development plans I need to write for Nybelmar (including the main continent one) but even the Zhunite one needs a lot more thought...

Is there a template for DMP's? I'd like to create one for Enthronia.

Ah, too bad that internet is so restricted in China, Ferra. Can't be much fun surfing the web that way if Big Brother's watching you... Hope you enjoy your stay nevertheless!

Hi, dear Arti and other developers!

This year I am in China and cannot use any Google services including YouTube. For this reason I stopped uploading new Nepris videos. I can also not read any comments there.

It just crossed my mind that this information might be useful to you.

Cheers
