As already said on ICQ: Ideal would be to at least try to elaborate the few key persons with a paragraph, so that we can fill in some details. Goal should be to get this into the Royal Lines table on the Centoraurians in our new History category. These are development tables basically, so no need to be 100% accurate, but they should help to look things up easily :)

Curgan, I'm starting to convert the table to the Royal Lines scheme, so that it can go uo as a development table in the History section. Feel free to add in more if you have some details. Entries here should be in present tense BTW. If you make changes, please mark them with a colour.

I have a question as well here: Until Carbug II the kingdom wasn't formed as it seems. What title would the first leaders have? Any specific idea?

Also your dates are somewhat inaccurate. If a ruler dies in, say 1860, then the successor would start in 1860, not in 1859. I will adjust that accordingly in the table version on the site.

Maybe the crown was already passed on the year before the former king died? A sort of relinquishment?

I suppose that depends on how he died...if he was dying in his sick bed..unable to rule...I suppose he could be suceeded while he was still alive...

Well, Carbug's title was just that "Carbug", which was the royal title until the inauguration of the Thyslanite dynasty.

Until the death of Carbug II and the establishment of the kingdom, the confederation elected their Carbug, through a counsil of the nomad tribes. We do not know what would hjave happened if they didn't elect Carbug's son each time...

So Carbug II was actually Carbug Carbug II?  shocked This looks a bit weird if a ruler also had that title and that name...

I know this will probably earn me a dead fish in my face but I cannot contain my laughter whenever I try to pronounce this illustrious king's name English style!

(I presume you would pronounce it as Kar-boog rather than some annoying appendage to one's vehicle!)

Ok, I shall stop being ridiculous before I am chased away.

"Helraiser" also sounds distantly related to a Clive Barker horror movie... lol

But seriously, I wish I could come up with as many names and commit myself to specific dates! This would make everything so much easier to map out & develop! You must have quite a picture in your mind Curgan to have arranged them thus!

I experience difficulty with these royal timelines because whenever I give dates, I realize some other precondition a year later that makes the initial ones impossible! Now I need to redo every history item in every Krean related entry!

I want a Curgan to sort out Nybelmar history for me!!!

I would see this as a development table, which can change if needed. It's good though that we get a development table on the site to look things up in the History section to have a rough idea.

For name generation I would suggest to try the syllable approach with the Santharian Languages Editor - if you have basic syllables defined, the program can produce quality names in no time.

He, he he!!!  cool cool cool

Actually, the king was reffered just as Carbug (pronounced KARBOOG with the stress at the U). I guess they would have forgotten their given names after 20 years on the throne. However, royal records would reffer to them with their given names (no title addressed). Otherwise it would be just a list from Carbug 1 to Carbug 102!!!

The reason for this oddity is that Carbug was a "primus inter pares" and as a first among equals he had no title (some say he had no title because half of the crazy Centoraurians would plot to get the title for themselves -even if it was royal janitor- and the other half would revolt against the opprression). His rule was very personal at start (like Castro in Cuba or Saddam in Iraq, so his heirs when elected took Carbug's place and became Carbug themselves (like the Big Brother in Orwels 1984)

Coren, we could meet at msn messenger and set things straight for nybelmar. It is very easy as soon as you follow some simple steps...          azn

I'm amazed you can see the Altario projects pile considering it is dwarfed by my unfinished projects. For which I apologise.
