I think even small, unassuming pictures such as this can really serve to 'garnish' and add flavour to a place entry, giving readers a feel for the Santharian atmosphere.  To that end, I offer 'Mountain Lake with Path' for your perusal, and in the hopes that it can find a home somewhere.

This is another landscape which was initially generated in Terragen, then reconstructed, layered, and repainted to create an illustration.  Comments welcome!

Drat, even though it's only 42 K it won't let me attach it for some reason.    Keep an eye on this space - I'll keep trying!

Yeah, if you post images you need to post the URL of the image itself (with the JPG ending), not of the page that displays it... I've fixed that now :)

And the picture turned out great I think :D It's barely recognizeable as based on Terragen and in this case could be used for example to show a mountain pass somewhere. Very good work on the sky as well, which adds a bit of a dramatic feel to the picture!  thumbup I'm sure we'll find something to put it in!

P.S. Have you got it a tad larger mayhaps?

Alas, no - still finding out how I can work with Terragen, and 'importing' a render from it into a graphics program is very crude atm (can we say 'screen shot'?)  So sorry...  hopefully we can use that size for an illustration for a place entry, just to give a 'feel' for an area, anyhow...

Ok, no problem. The picture is still very nice and useable that way as well :D

I like it!  Surely we have enough mountain ranges (and passes through them) that this will be snapped up quickly.

My only quibble would be that the mountain and trees in the bottom right look a little fuzzy, almost unfocused.  But that's a small thing.  I like the general feel of it, it is warmer and less imposing than most of our mountain pictures.   And the sky is great--those are beautiful clouds.

I've found the perfect spot:   Greleur Heights.

It's a small range of hills just above Malbrodough, in the Upper Ria Woods of Manthria.  If you look at the Manthrian map, you can find the area and see that everything in the illustration matches up:  a small path/road winds through Malbrodough to the NW up into the hills, as do the headwaters of Trickledown Crick (which you see as the small lake and beach to the left of the illustration)    It's neither too high nor imposing, nor too important, but it does mean another place and another picture for Manthria, my first love.

I call Greleur Heights, if no one minds!   It will be a simple but sweet place entry with a picture ready to go...

Why is it important?  It'll be the whole area around Malbrodough, which itself is the intersection for a number of main trails / trade routes.  The Heights themselves I think must be rich in mineral waters and small springs; Lake Cydel itself is quite dramatic, with dark, clear, bitter water in a black-rock basin.   People come for 'rest cures' and post-partum depression, 'taking the waters' and making ritual purifications.

Like the concept?

Sure, why not! For the Purification rite we could also use the picture we have at the moment in the Jeyriallene entry. So now we only need the entry :)

Hey you got it to work! Glad that eventually we we're able to use it. I meant to send you some landscapes like you asked, Bard, but never got 'round to it. If I start to feel very artistic again some time maybe I'll create a few and email em.

Anyway, this picture looks great! Make sure to mention the lake in the entry, (the one on the left side) because it looks beautiful! thumbup :)

Then take me disappearin' through the smoke rings of my mind,
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow.
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free,
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves,
Let me forget about today until tomorrow.

So.....despite Art's infamous 'Unfinished Tales List', which I was really starting to worry about,  it looks as though the PICTURE is acceptable...  what I need to do is start (and FINISH) an entry for Greleur Heights.  :)

Note to self:  Move 'Mountain Lake with Path' off the Unfinished Pictures List and into 'Greleur Heights'  on the Places to Create Entries List.....

Hello all! It's been a minute since I poked my nose in here. Can't remember if I ever did anything useful.

Ah, too bad that internet is so restricted in China, Ferra. Can't be much fun surfing the web that way if Big Brother's watching you... Hope you enjoy your stay nevertheless!

Hi, dear Arti and other developers!

This year I am in China and cannot use any Google services including YouTube. For this reason I stopped uploading new Nepris videos. I can also not read any comments there.

It just crossed my mind that this information might be useful to you.

Cheers
