Sorry that I haven't been around the past few days, I was on vacation but am now back.

@Talia: The Fá'áv'cál'âr entry states that orcs, dwarves, and humans were "subservient" to the elves in its second paragraph. I'm not sure what you want to make of that, but that's partly why I've been asking about accuracy. How am I to take this? Literally? Or as not quite accurate, "subservient" being too strong of a term? Or something else all together?

Thanks for the tip about Thaelon, it is invaluable info. That will have an enormous impact on my entry, obviously. Thanks!

Lastly, about the sailing dwarves: Brok Strongarm wasn't born until 1420 b.S. And since he (and his followers -->Denilou) are the only sailing dwarves that I have read of in the Compendium, I doubt that the Ylossian would be doing any sailing. Especially considering that dwarves are generally very distrustful of boats and the like. I think you guys have already suggested to me plenty of ways of migration without boats, so the dwarves will not need to be sailing.

No need to apologize if you were some days away!

To the word "subservient".
I looked it up and there are two meanings listed in my German dictionary:

- dienstbar : That means, they worked for them, but it doesn't tell anything, if it was voluntarily and if they liked it, because they realised the superiority of the elven culture, it is neutral

- unterwürfig: Is derived from unterwerfen, which means subordinate, to subdue etc

So, I always assumed the first meaning, but maybe we could/should discuss it and maybe change that single phrase to another, if we decide, that the relation was not a bad one?

To dwarves and water: I think, when the pressure in the back, the threat or whatever is big enough, then even a dwarf will cross the water. But anyway, that lies so far in the back, that we probably can't know it anyway, HOW they came to Nybelmar. There might be some myths, but not more. Keep in mind, that these are only maps for development purposes! If they should go on the site one day, then probably only as the weird ideas of some weird philosopher-scientists.

The Fá'áv'cál'âr myths unfortunately aren't as developed as they could be, but I'd say "subservient" might be a bit too strong. The things was that this kingdom was an attempt on a perfect empire/society if you so want, which was led basically by the elves, as they were the first Children of Avá and probably meant to do that, or so they thought. However, eventually this didn't work out and Fá'áv'cál'âr suffered a terrible demise.

Note that this is all basically a myth, and whatever is told in myths doesn't necessarily be the truth. The myth makes reference to the Gods that appeared or influenced other races, and eventually hell broke loose. This resulted in the fact that the races became alienated to each other and moved elsewhere etc. This Fá'áv'cál'âr myth however is just one version of the story, one interpretation, and the dwarves for example might have a different story, or they don't have all those details that the elves have in their myth. After all, myths are meant to have taken place thousands of years ago, and knowing the exact details would make it actually history and not a myth, and in the latter case interpretations of what had happened could vary considerably or even be contradictory - that's also the fun part of it.

I'm amazed you can see the Altario projects pile considering it is dwarfed by my unfinished projects. For which I apologise.
