I have the inclination to create a very dark and ominous plant befitting of Fá'áv'cál'âr and its surrounding marshes. This plant would have the ill affect of causing a person who has tasted of its roots to lose all physical status. It would of course have a very alluring aroma and a beautiful flower that serve to entrap those who wander too close. Perhaps it would even release a hypnotic song in the wind that causes its victims to loose sight of their original reasons for wandering through that area.

By loosing all physical status I mean that they will lose the ability to taste feel or smell, and will not be seen by any who they pass. In this way they will become ghosts for a time of let's say, three weeks. The affects of such a situation would have obvious affects on the persons psyche.

The many different paths this plant and its affects could be taken are very exciting, and I hope to gain approval to begin work on it.

Thanks,
Tadius

You're going to have a hell of a time trying to get that invisibility effect to get passed.

Actually, i came up with a solution while typing that sentence, so just ignore it. It sounds like a good idea, let's see what you can make of it! Do take care not to make it an "overpowered" substance though, we should not end up with 'phased out' armies and the like.

Good luck :)

Thank you, Miraran, I will get started very soon. Before I do, however, a problem has entered my mind. Very few people indeed have or will travel any where close to Fá'áv'cál'âr. Is there in fact a researcher or other person who's travels may have taken him in or around the area, and therefore; a person who's journals may have information from which I could get my information. I see no other way in which any extensive knowledge of this plant could be obtained.

Thanks,

Well, there SHOULD be an "Unentried People List" somewhere, provided that the existing researchers are unsuitable.

I just went over the Scolars and Explorers lists, and the best i could come up with is Alysse the Likely.

If that doesn't work for you either, check out this list, or come up with a new person.
Finally, depending on what you are planning on working on, you can just leave the source ambiguous or mention your own name. We do not always write for our focus area's anyway. For example, i have a tiny little ground bird hopping around in Santharia with my name at the bottom of the entry, while as an in-world person, i do not visit the continent more than once every few years!

Thank you again, Miraran. I do believe then that I will create a new researcher that fits the needs I have for this entry. Your help is very much appreciated.

A good possibility for your researcher might be Eleanna Kalrinwenens, female gnome, a (contemporary) Northern Sarvonian botanist.  She's has no entry (or RL persona), but is already referenced in several entries having to do with Northern Sarvonian plants.  She's established in the Iceland regions, I believe, but has traveled extensively about Northern Sarvonia doing research on different plants.

I'm afraid Alysse wouldn't go for it.  She's from the North originally but is working down in New Santhala as a researcher and probably wouldn't want to make an extended trip up to Fá'áv'cál'âr.  (And I'd know, because she's me.  :D)

I'll just mention that another possible place for your plant might be Osthemangar, a place full of warped and evil twisted magic, that has produced many revolting, warped beasts and plants that can't be found elsewhere, with peculiar, not to mention bizarre and disgusting traits.  And Eleanna's actually traveled there recently on a research expedition, so you wouldn't have to invent one.

But these are just suggestions and you are free to disregard them if you have other plans.  I won't be offended.  :D

Thank you, Alysse, for your thoughts. As a note of my personality, I must tell you that any advise given to me by anyone will never be disregarded. I am of the opinion that every one has something to teach everyone else. As such, even if I can not use your given suggestions imediatly, I will try hard to find a place in which I can use such info in the future. In short, thank you very much, and I do in fact like very much the idea of placing my plant in an area such as Osthemangar where the researcher Eleanna Kalrinwenens has already been.

Thanks,

Are Shabby and Dek the same person in my mind.  Strange.

I am pleased it is going well for you though Seeker ... can't wait to try it and die. :D

I'm amazed you can see the Altario projects pile considering it is dwarfed by my unfinished projects. For which I apologise.
