Seeker, I think I need a print   grin

I downloaded both versions and looked and compared them on my (huge :D) screen and they both look cool, but I personally would go for the darker one, but it could be I see it brighter anyway. If I find the time, I'll look on my son's 'ordinary' screen.

I would not vary the colours too much, no green, blue , red and yellow, not even very faint. But, maybe a tint of (warm) yellow, maybe that yellow varying on intensity depending on the size of the spheres, maybe a hint of (cool) blue somewhere, but not more. I personally think, that a red or a different green has no place in this composition, but that is of course only my opinion.

And now to my monster..

I understand why Azhira wants the different colors.  She described the wisp to use different colors to reflect different moods, etc.  However I tried using the diferent colors , especially red and it made the composition look a little too colorful and took away from the eerie night feeling.  I can also add different versions with different colors so Art can use the Wisp of his choice (he may need an angry one every once in a while).

As far as the dark vs. light.  Art may want to post the slightly lighter version so more people out there in cyberspace can enjoy the picture.  Not everyone has nice monitors like us here Santharia.

I will play around a bit more.  And see what I can do.

Alright Art, here you go.  See what you can do with these.  In the first pic I played around with blues, greens and yellows.  They seemed to work well together.  In the second pic I made them all a reddish hue.  I provided this in case you ever need some angry wisps for anything.  I would prefer the 1st pic is used in the Wisp apparition entry but I will leave that to you and Azhira.

I really like these, they are so nice and spooky looking...(shivers)

Be great if we could use them in Santhworld, maybe just for a little "atmospheric moment", so to speak.  Perhaps there's a place for a swamp in there somewhere, where the player could encounter one of these critters?  They're cool!

Yeah, guess they're lovely, and I'd say they should be pretty fine as they are now. Putting too much effort into the design of special effects could also go too far, so that it hampers the intended atmosphere. :)

@Alysse: Yes, anything associated with swamps can do great in Santhworld. We're bulding our swamp-related picture base one by one now, and these wisps are a great addition to that. Besides: Since Uninvited I try to incorporate more animated stuff into the displayed mini-movies as well where appropriate (until then it was pretty much only a fade in), so If I could have the wisps somehow on a seperate layer (PSD file, or in a transparent PNG), then I could let some wisps move around eeriely as well, maybe in combination with some moving fog as I already did in Uninvited...

Yup, I'd say that the first pic is definitely the one! I can see the barely there shade of color, but not too much! Perfect. The intent was to have subtle color shades that if you look at them, you think you can see them, but maybe not...it adds to the mysteriousness of the wisps.

Thanks for the pic, Seeker!

No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith. And that, I fear, for any reasoning, conscious being, would be the cruelest trick of all.

I wish I have something constructive to say other than I like it - opinion wise, I like the second one. I like being able to see details.

Are Shabby and Dek the same person in my mind.  Strange.

Ah yes, forgot to point out to Shabakuk that Chapter 5 is ready for testing - will do so now!
18 May 2012, 09:35:51
I am pleased it is going well for you though Seeker ... can't wait to try it and die. :D
18 May 2012, 09:35:13
No, I didn't Seeker. :( I think it is Master Anfang who is doing the testing
18 May 2012, 08:30:42
Dek-   shoals is going very well.  Art is starting on chapter 6. A very important chapter.  Did you test chapter 5?

Then I say we lock the Unfinished Projects room.  If Arti ever gets in there.... big trouble. rolleyes

I'm amazed you can see the Altario projects pile considering it is dwarfed by my unfinished projects. For which I apologise.
