This discussion of Latin reminds me of a poem I heard a while ago ...

Latin's a dead language,
As dead as dead can be,
It killed off all the Romans,
And now its killing me!

There is the scaffold for the Nox.

Now you guys can comment until your hearts content.
... and I know that this is organism is highly infectious, to the point to which it is a pandemic. I especially need help in that regard.

(Whistles sharply) Herbarium Mods Ooover heeere. Madly overpowered organism floating the around the forums with no comments... ... ...

Oh come on, that is practically like waving a red cape at a bull.

Seriously though, I need help trimming away the fat from this entry. We need clever ways to hider these things.

You don't run your names through Google Search?  Imagine my surprise when I found out Altario was the name of a town not so very far from where I live.  Purely coincidence.  But I had been using it for soooo long (much longer than my being here, and even before Google itself!).  Skylings was about my fourth or fifth incarnation before it wasn't a name that had historical or fantasy connotations.  At least none on the first or second page of Google. :P

Strange... all mine came up with was a mattress company named Aviaro, which is still a bit spooky...

Exmortis,

Sorry I seem to have overlooked this...icky flower...(icky in a good way).  evil I'll comment today. You have a talent for populating my Mists with all sorts of nasty, unusual and dangerous specimens! Your story of the sorcerer gives me an idea of where to place the Nox. I am thinking around the Fangspire where stories are told that a dark elf sorcerer already lives. Maybe there is a story that he created the Nox?

No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith. And that, I fear, for any reasoning, conscious being, would be the cruelest trick of all.

Where are your researchers? Who studied this? How was the infection studied?

Don't understand the first question.

I might use Joel Treeforge as a research reference...
He was the guy who documented the Xaul.

Probably through dissections of previously infected, dead bodies (...The serious kind of dead, not the one were you get up again and start lurching around buck). Anyway, I doubt that Joel would have the means or the manpower to capture a living subject. I mean who would be crazy enough to take on either type? Type A moves in hoards and type B is astonishingly fast and highly aggressive. Furthermore, both are integrated with Nox which makes them highly infectious to other living organisms.

Sorry for not responding to your preceding post. But that looks interesting, I might need to read up on it a bit, but looks like it could be a way to integrate this... organism, into the Mists.

Oi, one last thing, as you could probably guess from looking over the reproduction section that these critters infect some areas that fringe the mists. But there needs to be some event which causes the Nox to retreat back to the mists. I was toying with the idea of an organized military or militia force of some description, exterminating the bulk of the infection, constructing a perimeter around infected areas and slowly pushing on these perimeters, thus forcing the creatures back into the mists. Ultimately they aim to cause the Nox to die from lack of nutrition or from the horrors therewith that dark place.
As always, I leave this idea open for consideration and tweaking.

Then I say we lock the Unfinished Projects room.  If Arti ever gets in there.... big trouble. rolleyes

I'm amazed you can see the Altario projects pile considering it is dwarfed by my unfinished projects. For which I apologise.
