Um yes. I'm starting really small. (and I'm a little confused if this is the right place to start this kind of thread)

I recently got a new computer (hurray) which was not working well (not so hurray) and after doing some tinkering I eventually had to return it, which was really just a real big disappointment since I had waited on it for so long already. Got it back now, let's hope it stays on duty for a while.

So I haven't gotten around painting much yet. Finished this picture recently and though it's just a portrait I figured I could put it up here in case anyone was interested while I work on new stuffs.

I can repaint the clothes and the chain if you want something else

just let me know what you need.

Well done, I am glad to see you are still around. I am sure Art can start a proper resource thread for you if it becomes necessary.

Shayna let me know if you have a list of Santharian entries you want to illustrate. I am trying to keep a master list so that the artists now what each other are working on. This will prevent all of us from accidentally drawing the same entry (which I admit may be a far fetched occurence)

If you want to keep the list to yourself that is of course no problem either

. Sometimes we like to keep the pictures secret until they are revealed.

A lovely pic! I like the shading and the eyes are very attractive.

Erm..

Is it a male or female? It looks to be in the "anime" drawn style and often those kinds of characters are androgynous looking types. The large eyes, thin chin and hair point in that direction.

May I suggest a bit more decoration or style to his/her shirt?

I would suggest to let someone request the picture for a particualr entry first. I am sure at that point Shayan will be willing to modify the shirt or any other details to the specific entry. Otherwise he will keep changing the pic over and over and that is rather tedious.

Absolutely right, Seeker! I am getting ahead of myself. rolleyes

Well, I would say that this picture looks elven, or half-elven. Seems a bit too delicate to be human.

Possible entry suggestions:

Eir Melone Swanvild - Need a female for this one, but the appearance seems about right.

An Ifer'hém elf - Seems like a nice fit here, too.

The Cyrathrhim elves - No tribe picture yet (although, the entry states no one really knows what they look like...)

Okeydokey, your Resources thread can now be accessed from the side menu as well, Shayan!

So good to hear that you're back again, hopefully with a working computer! I'm sure we'll find a place for this portrait eventually - this might take some time, though

(well yes I hope computer troubles are done. It's been such a long history of those and I thought I was finally seeing the end of it :/ )

@Azhira Well, let me put it this way. If I had painted a woman, it is my belief that you would have had no doubt that she was such

So it's a boy. He's fairly young (teens) which adds to the androgynous look. It's true that I'm influenced by manga (but especially European comics) but I still veer much more towards realism than most people influenced by that kind of asian imagery. (I guess this means I will be painting elves mostly?)

I can add some pointy ears, and change the clothes/accesories to an entry's needs but I don't want to change the gender.

@Seeker yes! I think I should because you keep painting stuff I wanted to do haha

(and doing a marvelous job at it too

) No worries, it's perfectly fine since I can find hundreds of paint-worthy entries, I just think it's rather funny we keep picking out the same stuff!
I'm not that much available anyway considering my workload just about doubled. I'm just a sidekick on the dev-board, and I don't mind

So considering that. I will probably just pick out one thing at the time. Better for my health too. Should I PM that to you?

Thank you for the thread Art! Slow progress is still better than none but at least I made a start now

Also, in general if the/my style is not suitable (for Santharia) that's perfectly fine. I'm putting him up here in case someone can use the picture, I really won't be offended or put off if there's no use for it in the end

just saying.

Your style is excellent, I love it very much. I always admire the smoothness of the skin. But maybe I have just found out, how to do this!

Edit: I would like to claim this portrait for me (well, actually for Gean), for one of the most important persons in Strata's history, for

Drafas Tristin, Founder of Strata

That entry needs to be updated at some point, maybe Gean would do it sometimes. But we can put this picture there and replace the black/white one.

I would only ask to replace the chain with something Erpheronian, but I have to think about first, what could that be.
