I'm not sure if that many people have noticed, but more and more developers are becoming involved in Brownie development; Irid has a little part of the Vale, Eldor is doing great work on the Milken, Garret has pretty much taken over the Aohu'o, Mina did some stuff ages ago for the Memnoor and Azhira is adding to the Rat Brownies as we speak.  Plus the odd mention in an entry here and there from other contributors, which is great.

*takes quick pause to squeee happily at the thought of so many people developing brownies*

I pretty much love being the centre of all this, making sure stuff fits in with each other and generally coordinating the development.  But a lot of the knowledge I have, about what is going on or what might happen in the future, is stored nowhere but in my head, which is a very dangerous place to leave it!  Also most brownie-related discussions happen only on the IRC and never somewhere they're recorded, so they can get lost or forgotten.

So, pretty please may I have a board for posting Brownie-related stuff?  I know we haven't had race-specific areas before, but as you can see we have just as many (or more) people working on Brownie stuff as we do on some of the continents, and it would be great to have an obvious place to bring up Brownie-specific discussions.  Also, it would allow me to post up all my knowledge and research that is currently just in my head or in note form on my computer, helping fellow developers and maybe making it more possible for people to do brownie stuff on a whim.

I agree. We have more hands in the Brownie development right now than any other race. Thanks to Rookie's enthusiasm and skill at handling the Brownies, she has generated alot of interest in them. So, perhaps a separate forum off the Races area would be nice to coordinate the Brownie stuff so as not to get lost.  thumbup

Oh, and that sounds like a good idea to me as well :) It'll stop me form making too many mistakes with regards to the rat Brownies that'll be up near EWB.

I also think it's a good idea. I would love a separate forum for us Brownie people. It'd be a lot better than talking to Rookie via PM on IRC. So I vote yes, if my humble opinion counts. *Eldor also secretly hopes to help mod it*

Of course you're doing great work  Eldor.  However, one entry (well, ok two) does not Brownie devver make!  More please ;)

To further support my case, here is an idea of what I'd like to put in a board if I had one:


~ A map of santharia showing where the Rat Brownies are now, showing which troops are known to be there and which are only rumours.

~ Same for the Aohu'o.

~ Vale of Brownies map and the plans for the six undeveloped tribes there.  These are currently in my dev schedule, but it's getting really messy.

~ Details on Akdorian Aohu'o - what we know about them etc.  I'd also like to sort out this naming issue once and for all, but I'd quite like to recruit some helpers for that, and this board would help coordinate this.

~ A list of brownie researchers, scholars, poets and other famous people, so they can be reused.  It's often really quite difficult to put in other larger people, because they can't get to where they need to get to, or need to speak fluent Browniin etc etc.

~ A list of the ways that Brownies differ from other races (again, currently in my dev schedule).  Some of these should go up for discussion now we've got so many people doing brownie stuff.

~ A list of all Brownie entries indicating which ones need to be updated and which are ok.

~ Ideas of what's missing from the different clans and where the holes might be for people to fill in.  (More knowledge that's just sitting in my head).

So yeah, so much that I would really like to provide for everyone to access, as my head is not always that easy to get into!

I'll be there asap with all the stuff I want to put on - it'll be a little christmas project for me now I'm back at my parents house.  Bit calmer now that I'm actually here, I ended up really busy the last few days, just because I was trying to see everyone before the holidays.
