How is it known for sure that these trees only exist in the Mantle Woods? Has the researcher been all over the Disk, journeyed in every forest and documented notes with countless other researchers to be able to make this statement? Perhaps say instead that "it is believed by so and so" that the Toora Dooha tree only lives in the Mantle Woods. Maybe the local tribes make this claim.

I can put that in sure, but are you going to ask the same for every bestiary or herbarium entry that says where it is found? ;)  Every entry states where they are found.

Edit:  Oh, and not trees; tree.  There is only one in existence, at least that is known, and as a developer, it is a unique specimen.  I don't want them all over the place.  I want it as a sole specimen.  But, I can put that in a "we think it is the only one" statement as well. :)

Maybe you can phrase it differently, the other way round:

"There is no other .. tree known to exist elsewhere" (to the compendiumists)

What Talia said.  ;)

*psst! Where have you been, Talia! We misses you!* heart

It's ok to have only one specimen, as developers we all know that. But as compendiumists and people "living" on the Disk, we don't know there is only one tree. I think as long as it is mentioned. Are scholars the ones who believe one tree is known to exist? What about other local tribes?

Going to put the Comments Welcome icon up and open this to critique.

Other than an example of a conversation with itself, I think I have all the prerequisites.  Perhaps some sharp criticism will help me expand on it, as it is a bit thin. :)

This is great stuff. thumbup   clap I hope my questions help to make it better.

I don't quite understand why it is difficult to deduce which face you are speaking to.  It seems to me the face changes along with the voice. For example if the face changes to a female and the voice changes to the female voice to match, then I know I am talking to the female face.

Do we know why a person is limited to 3 questions?  What happens if you ask more? What happens if you leave and come back to ask more?
I wonder how the researcher or the Antislar people know that one face speaks truth, one lies etc. etc.  I suspect at some point in the past a group of people over time tested the tree with easy questions and determined this fact.

Here is an idea for thought.    Does the tree ever shed its leaves in Autumn?  If it does are the leaves recognizable in any way and collected. Do they have any magical properties for mages/seers perhaps.

My first comment was not addressed. At least, mention in the Myth/Lore the similarities between the Toora and the Drasil (even if the researcher dismisses the similarities completely, or admits that perhaps they *may* be related, but will never be sure...) I feel magical trees need to be made comparisons to given that we now have three in Caelereth (pendrowe, Drasil and now toora dooha).

Second, the rarity of the toora dooha should be made a bit more clear, or more vague. The part about them being the only known tree in all of Caelereth should not be made fact, since no one can possibly know if toora dooha trees exist in Nybelmar, unexplored Caaehl'heroth (Aden?), Kanapan, Denilou etc. Maybe say that, according to most tree researchers (North ones anyway, unless you mention a south botanist who has studied the toora dooha), the tree is the only known recorded of its kind so far. That leaves the possibility of having a second, or third, toora dooha somewhere else (in other words, it leaves it open for ME to use!  :D Cause, you know, we Northerners like to steal borrow each others' ideas once in awhile...)

Working on this.  Thanks, you two, for giving me something to work with. :)

Azhira, Seeker's idea about collecting the leaves was a good one, though, I'm not sure If I will have any Antislar seers that could use it, and the Remusians... well, you know. rolleyes  Would the Kaaer have use of it?  Then I might tweak the location and population of it in order to make it possible.  Or, we could have the Antislar trade or sell the leaves to the Kaaer... which would go well with the Antislar penchant for trade.

You could have the Antislar brew them into a tea, a sort of tasseomancy?

How's status here? Can this be considered finished, Alt?

Not yet.  I have to integrate Azhiras comments, and was hoping to get her opinion on Seeker's idea.

I'm amazed you can see the Altario projects pile considering it is dwarfed by my unfinished projects. For which I apologise.
