I attempted to flee the murder scene at the Ria Building but to no avail.  The elves were to many and I had no desire to harm anyone in an escape attempt.  They apparantly drugged me... and now I find myself chained to the wall in this strange dungeon room .  Rather plain and empty except for this statue.

Who's that?  Someone is coming.  A robed man and a hooded figure enter the room.  The robed man speaks "Stranger, you have been found guilty of murdering a noble Lord of Marcogg wilst he travelled to negotiate with the Elves.  Look upon our hero Annils Norgerinth before your death."

Comments Welcome

Annils Norgerinth
(Note the statue of Annils is holding a sword in one hand and a giant fish in the other.  The artisans decided to make the fish larger than the sword to represent the fact that Annils was first a fisherman and second a fighter.  This statue is not in the tomb of Norgerinth but in a dungeon in Marcogg.  Enemies are forced to look upon him before they are executed.)

This picture was mainly drawn because Art needs various elements of the picture for some things he is working on.  I am hoping it can also serve to grace the pages of the Annils Norgerinth entry.

I like it. :)  But, there is something about the perspective that bothers me.  It seems the ceiling drops too quickly behind the statue.  At least from my perspective. :P

That's a great ceiling  for a dungeon! But well, you are a famous painter, so you might get a privileged treatment ;)

(Though somehow overlaying a texture seems like cheating to me ;) )

Hmm... well, could be that the ceiling drops a bit too quickly - maybe that impression exists because the topmost part of the picture is somewhat undefined. If the first three centimetres on top would be missing the impression probably would be diminished.

Anyway, while I don't know exactly why people who are going to be executed have to look at Norgerinth shocked I love the idea that we see him with fish and sword, and the fish being one actually the dominating aspect. The sword however seems nevertheless a bit out of proportion if you ask me - looks a bit like a larger dagger right now. I think Norgo could also use a bit more texture, the pedestal could be sharper etc. But the environment in general looks rather spectacular that way already - very impressive, Seeker!  thumbup

Thanks for the suggestions guys.  I will work on those aspects.

Overall I certainly don't consider this my finest work.   Didn't feel too inspired but still wanted to provide something for Art to use.  So I certainly don't intend to make any big/lengthy changes.

Certainly the final caption can be whatever you want Art.  The whole execution thing was just for fun .... for Seekers continuing saga.  Stay tuned for how how escape this dungeon.. :)

Yeah, I see you get around quite a bit... Sometimes the situations can be quite life-threatening, eh? lol

The sword could be for stabbing, like a gladius...?

Suggestion: Here's an example of what I meant with adding texture, Seeker... In the example below I applied a strongly transparent texture on statue and the surrounding columns and ceiling, using the option "copy into each other". It's just a rough example (here the texture was used on statue and background, just for show), but I think a texture like this resembling breaking stone can add to the picture and give e.g. the catacombs a very ancient look. - What do you think?

Yes, that looks really good Art.  I am not familiar with the "copy into each other"  option.  But i am sure I can figure it out.  Thanks

Sometimes 'multiplicate' (?? multiplizieren) works better :)

Just my opinion, take it for what it's worth (add $3.50 you can buy a cup of coffee).

I think that you should decide which you wish to give the cracks to, the statue or the beams, but not both.  Having both is too much, and stops looking natural and looks like a mask.  Just my opinion.  I think the beams should have the new layer, as I preferred the statue pre-cracks.

I am pleased it is going well for you though Seeker ... can't wait to try it and die. :D

No, I didn't Seeker. :( I think it is Master Anfang who is doing the testing

Dek-   shoals is going very well.  Art is starting on chapter 6. A very important chapter.  Did you test chapter 5?

I'm amazed you can see the Altario projects pile considering it is dwarfed by my unfinished projects. For which I apologise.
