I agree with Athviaro Altario (even I'm getting confused :P). I think the statue or the beams, not both.

I agree with Altario, there are too many cracks on that statue, it would probably fall apart. Maybe keep a few, but not that pattern on the leg e.g.  Maybe use another texture for the statue, if you have the layers still. Sometimes multiply or copy..  (what was it again?) does not work too well, so if you just increase the transparency of the texture layer and merge the two layers, that might be easier.

Going over them and removing parts at the ceiling might help also. In some places they don't look naturally.

And yes, Jonael, it is multiply - was too lazy to look it up :)

Yeah, I guess what you could do is to tone down the cracks at the statue itself somewhat, because that's the focus of the picture. So too many cracks are rather obvious at this part of the picture and can come across as too strong. Reducing that impression somewhat will look more consistent. If you have that version on an own layer and the regular statue below, you might just delete some sections with a feather selection (soft borders) or something and you'll get some halfway cracks out of it e.g., so that's worth a try.

I think the cracks work really well at the catacomb arches themselves, they have a very ancient look now. Very cool! :)

Back to this one: Can you try diminishing the cracks effect on that statue, Seeker? And then send me a PSD version with separate background? Might come in handy! ;)

I will try and get to this tonight.  Also as we discussed over the PM,  for the background only picture I intend to create a couple of walls closer to the columns to make this appear as a hallway.

Hi Seeker,

great composition, evocative attitude of the statue, cute idea with the rats!

I've got one suggestion for an aspect that you might want to have a look at:

it seems to me that parts of the statue look two-dimensional, in particular some of the outlines, and especially the hair and the sword-hand.

Exaggerating to make my point: in parts, the statue looks as if it's been cut out of paper and pasted onto the background. The same goes for the rats, actually.

Now, I've got no expertise at all concerning how to create an effect of three-dimensionality - but judging from your other pictures, you   have ... (If you agree with my comment, that is.)

And oh, I didn't know that Jonael is proficient in German!

I'm amazed you can see the Altario projects pile considering it is dwarfed by my unfinished projects. For which I apologise.
