Ok good. I will add this to my Kaaer revision. The history tables will be shared in both entries.

Now next question - what caused Anif to secede from the main Antislar tribe? Cultural differences? Religious differences? What would motivate Anif to split and thus cut off elven trade as a consequence?

No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith. And that, I fear, for any reasoning, conscious being, would be the cruelest trick of all.

Independence?  We are talking hundreds of years, not just a decade or two.  As well, we could put in the magic, with Anif against the use of magic, thus keeping the Kaaer free of using essense.

Yes I would prefer to have the Kaaer not develop with established magic like essences. I am giving them clerical nature type magic (not druid) learned from the Lost Ones lore.

Anif could have slowly developed as its own government and culture over time. Perhaps a particularly rebellious succession of leaders began taking Anif down a different path from main Antislar society. Or Anif didn't pay their taxes or some kind of tariff to the mainland thus sparking dissent between the settlements. When the mainland made demands, Anif pulled away and armed conflict began. After this war, Anif was weakened and looked to find another settlement away from the mainland. Thus they moved up the Kharim and founded Eph'denn. Unfortunately, the winds of another war came upon them soon after...

Dek, you could have the elves decide to keep their ties to Antislar, which means not trading with Anif, but refusing to actually intercede and get militarilly involved with the Anif folks.  The Anif and the elves then are not hostile, but no longer friendly.

I'm amazed you can see the Altario projects pile considering it is dwarfed by my unfinished projects. For which I apologise.
