Subtleties Overview
The wild, the marvelous, the spectacular, or the just plain unusual receipts belong here. Look for Gilded Roast Peahen, Butterflied Wild Boar, Orcen Kragghi Beans, Marhesti Fire Shrimp Skewers, and other displays of culinary extravagance.  These may be dishes found also classified as meets or savories or may be dishes that are a class of their own!  Subtleties known in Caelereth are as follows:

ELSRETHIAN SPIDDLEBAKE
A strange yet divine dish made from the meat of the spiderturtle and a host of ingredients to include loibl bread.  The dish is baked and served in the shell of the turtle to the delight of those who are priviledges to experience this wonderful meal.

Bard Help!

In the cookbook we only have on subtlety listed. Do you beleive there are other dishes (perhaps some of the ones I have in the meats overview)  that should be listed here as well?

I don't know, but perhaps roasted illoryn should be listed somewhere.

Here and there, whole mighty trees glowed with an emitted phosphorescent light. You could trace the very course of the great roots in the earth by a faint light that came through; and every twig, and every vein on every leaf was a streak of pale fire.

 ERPHERONIAN BOAR STEAK WITH SWEETSAUCE
Sweet Steak is a delicacy which by custom is usually only eaten on local holidays such as Armerenda, Foyrocar, and the Day of Avis, for it is so expensive that only royals can afford to have it on the table regularly.

This would appear to qualify as a 'subtlety'...  :)

You should also list dishes that are referred to, whether there is an existing receipt or not, so the Kragghi Beans and Fire Shrimp should go in, with a short line of 'overview'...   and let's change 'Gilded Roast Peahen' to 'Gilded Roast Iloryn' :)   For your convenience, and dining pleasure, the overviews have been provided by the Bard, always at your service...

-----------------------------------------------------

Butterflied Wild Boar:  Wild boar which has been prepared by splitting open, gutting, and carefully deboning.  The carcass is then stretched out upon an X-shaped framework of green willow or fruit tree limbs (hence, 'butterflied') and roasted first on one side and then the other, while being basted with various glazes, usually heavily alcoholic and fruity in nature.   It is served in an equally dramatic nature, with the framework being elevated upon a stout pole, rather like a strange clan banner, and carried upright into the dining hall!

Orcen Kragghi Beans:  Any readily available Onn beans may be used for this dish, as the resultant flavour will be primarily of the scaldingly spicy Kragghi sap in which they are marinated and fermented for two to four seasons!  Year-old Kragghi beans, or Krag'Onn, as they are known to the orcs, are a particular delicacy, redolently fiery and pungently flavoured, a dark red in colour all the way through.

Marhesti Fire Shrimp Skewers:    Not only are genuine 'Marhesti* Shrimp' exceedingly rare morsels of seafood, being found in the dwarven cavern pools exclusively and not often sold to non-Thergerim, their method of preparation would satisfy the most jaded ruler - perhaps even the sophisticated Krean would not scorn these delectable spicy bites, served on ornate wire skewers and set alight just before presenting...

*(Dwarven: 'Mar'Hes'Thuuth', 'Blood-lime Fire' - obviously distorted into the more euphonious 'Marhesti' by human tongues.  Our Thergerim source tells us that the cave shrimp were named for their flavour, which is richly salty and hotly tangy, quite naturally and without saucing or further culinary effort! )

Waiiiiiit!   (Bard staggers back with a pile of Unfinished Projects so high her arms are trembling)  Let me stuff mine in there before you lock the room!  *looks guiltily around and snatches the Quenyss parchment off the top of the stack*

Then I say we lock the Unfinished Projects room.  If Arti ever gets in there.... big trouble. rolleyes

I'm amazed you can see the Altario projects pile considering it is dwarfed by my unfinished projects. For which I apologise.
