Wow, what a very interesting approach to the Journey, Judy! thumbup I guess it cannot be 't easy to capture what lies in the tale with a graphical representation, as its basically a matter of perspective and approach, so every picture on the topic in a way comes from a perception - and thus opens up for new re-interpretations with something you choose to portray... So definitely not a simple subject, but you really went a wonderful path to put it on digital paper...

As mentioned above the picture in itself is also somewhat ambiguous makes one really think, and thus is very creatively stimulating! I love it that we have these figures there, seen from behind, ghost-like maybe, three of them, similar pose, and fascinatingly enough it could mean someone windsinging, or waving, maybe just standing there, maybe going as it is seen trice in different stages if it is the same person. Maybe the hair of the second person (?) appears longer than the hair of the first figure - or maybe I'm just imagining? lol Does the path lead to the light (as it seems to be pretty bright over there)? Others might say it's all just trees, and a path between them, on the other hand it's not a gravel path of some kind, so is it actually a path? As you can see I think the picture, in the way it is done, I think gets to the core of what is the story's, say, "amplitude" to convey... something specific to someone specific.

I also notice e.g. that a hand seems to come in from the left after the first tree, another point of interpretation. There's also a face visible on the tree to the left, maybe even to the right as well. These perhaps look a bit too drawn on top of the bark - even though they perhaps should be subtle in order not to be visible at the first glance, this I think is what could still need a bit of work.

Other than tha: Simple marvellous work and aura +1 of course, Judy! clap  thumbup

I wondered how that would show up on different monitors :)

Yes, I'd like to work a bit more subtly with the bark and the shapes in the trees, and perhaps add another hand to the right.  Also I might make the hair more dramatically longer/shorter to give a sense of time's warping through the picture - though bravo for noticing that already...

I am delighted that you liked it, although it was indeed a challenge to try to depict the complexity of the tale in graphic form - in this case a thousand words were more evocative than a picture!

JUDITH IS BACK!  I really like how the trees especially the bark on your trees turned out. And well I have to admit I never read the story  lipsrsealed  but this picture makes me want to. So I say it does its job well.

Good to have you back on your computer.

Yeah, great to see you working on pictures again, Judy! :D Hope the new monitor makes your life now much easier in this regard!

As for the time warping: Well, the longer hair could also be interpreted in a different way. :) That's what I like about the whole thing, that there are multiple ways to look at it. As I'm in the process of updating the tale I discover several new perspectives on how to access parts of it, so especially for me as an author dealing with the material, while re-walking the journey it stays somewhat fresh and creatively challenging on what something could mean and why - and how to suggest something that could provide new meaning for someone else. Returning to the "Journey" you know already where it lead, yet you might look at it with different eyes and get something entirely new out of it.

And the same is valid for the picture: You can look at it depending on what you want to get out of it. So if you change your perspective, the meaning changes as well.

@Seeker: I think the longer your story/entry is the more likely it is that it doesn't get the attention it deserves. But I guess you just have to live with that as long as you are satisfied with what you put together and gets at least some response. :) On the other hand the "Journey" for sure offers a lot of imagery, at least for the mind...

A fantastic picture, although it is evocative and eerie, it just can't illustrate the dreamy quality of the story itself. Indeed, multiple interpretations can be made and Judy's picture is but one of them. I do hope this pic inspires more folks to read the Journey and really appreciate it (it may take two readings to fully grasp it all.)

No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith. And that, I fear, for any reasoning, conscious being, would be the cruelest trick of all.

It's the kind of picture that would make one want to write a story, if the story didn't already exist. Judy, your picture reminds me of some of the work by the surrealist painter Edgar Ende (if interested, google his name for some example images).

Well done and aura!

One tiny comment: I found the root that hugs the pond (near the left foot of the middle of the three figures) a bit unfortunate: because it follows the outline of the pond, I think it makes the water surface look three-dimensional where it should look flat. Or is that just me?

Anyway: good idea to play with the length of the hair. And I approve of an extra hand coming from the right.

And one thought I had: Finger nails also grow with time ...

You have great ideas, Judy. Now I have to reread the story!

Ah, too bad that internet is so restricted in China, Ferra. Can't be much fun surfing the web that way if Big Brother's watching you... Hope you enjoy your stay nevertheless!

Hi, dear Arti and other developers!

This year I am in China and cannot use any Google services including YouTube. For this reason I stopped uploading new Nepris videos. I can also not read any comments there.

It just crossed my mind that this information might be useful to you.

Cheers
