Basic Overview of the Beast
Night Screechers are small mammals that climb high into the treetops but have no tails. It lives In few select places with dense forest and is nocturnal, meaning it sleeps during the day. It has Large yellow eyes and big ears for hearing the screeches of others. It eats insects, lizards, and mice, but will attack any of the main races if it feels threatened.

   Appearance
Screechers are bony and have large ears. They have large yellow eyes possibly for seeing better at night. They are also covered with short purplish black hair on all part's of the body except for the hands, feet, and face which are leathery and black much like those of a Jupa ape although the Screechers are not at all cute.

   Special Abilities
N/A

   Territory
I am needing guidence toward a forest location along the Ecuador of Caelereth

Habitat/Behavior
They live in The forests near rivers. you will not normally see these creatures but if you do they will be trying to hide. It is best not to try to find them in less they have hurt someone close to you as they will attack if they or any members of their pack feel threatened.

   Diet
Screechers of the night eat small bugs, frogs and lizards for the most part as those are common in the forests in which they live. It also seems as though they may live in small packs and that they may in fact share food with others of their same species.

   Mating
The males screech at the females until they come to them, at which point they will mate for life and have from 2-3 children per year.

Wesley, if it isn't finished yet, please change the icon to the pencil instead of the exclamation mark. The exclamation mark means that it is ready for comments.

It's ready for comments! last time I posted it I used the other icon and the only comment I got was about grammar. I want comments on my idea so I know whether or not to finish it!

Wesley, it is a bit difficult to answer that question.

I think your were asked to improve your grammar first, for if we should have to comment on more than a few lines than now, it would be very arduous. So please - grammar and spellcheck first before you ask for a comment!

Well, generally a kind of primate is ok, though we should think about, if we want to have such a big primate in Santharia, and not just in one forest. Santharia is more the European looking continent where Nybelmar and the North are our exotic ones.

What would be the Santharian touch of your ape? You should not just plant an earthen one on Caelereth.

I would dearly recommend to restrict your animal to one forest, and think long about which one, for it affects the tribe there. I think the Sharadon with its tree-dwelling elves is not a good choice. Read up all other Santharian forests and see, which one fits best.

Maybe read up this and that entry so you get a feeling at what you are aiming. A few sentences for each paragraph are not enough.

It would be good, if you would present a few more original ideas before we decide, if and where you beast would fit. An idea which let's me cry out - I want to have this animal at that place! :)

Please don't let you discourage,  every start is difficult, but we do need some more meat!  :D

Hi Wesley,

I had typed a response for you as well, then I closed out of Google Chrome and lost it.

It is too late now for me to do it, so I'll get to it tomorrow. My comments were quite similar to Ta'lia's.

I do have a few ideas/suggestions for you in order to make it a bit more unique ... which I'll share when I post tomorrow or the next day.

We also can't use the picture you posted, as you need permission to use it from the artist. So it's all very fragmentary. A certain amount of detail and ability to get it all down in proper grammar and sound expression is required, Wesley. So that's quite difficult to get on site unless someone helps you considerably as at the moment its very basic and pretty far away from a regular entry.

Wesley, I think part of the issue with the picture might also be that it doesn't fit in with the other pictures that we have on site. If you have a look at other pictures, you'll see that they have some kind of background to them, rather than just the picture of the animal/plant/building/person/object/etc that the picture is of. At the moment, your picture really just seems to me to be a face of some kind.

As I said, take a look at pictures already on site, and I'm sure you'll see what I mean ... by the way, the picture does look interesting. I haven't forgotten that I said I'd give comments on it ... I just have been pushed for time over the past few days.

You did that picture yourself? It is a great start! I like the face, the red colour before the black background gives a good hint, that it is night.

But  I have problems with the rest, can't discern what is pictured, arms? What is it holding? And that it is obviously hanging head down makes the viewing not easier.

Why don't you separate it from the submission here and post it in the artists forum? There it gets more attention. But I warn you, that you might need to change a lot. Ask poor Seeker or any of our great artists how often they had to go back to their drawing board.

For now though the problem is the text, not the picture.

 Back to work! Whip      grin

Wesley, me again.  grin

I see, that you have major problems to get something done here. I know, it is not easy for a beginner.

I want to offer you my help to get your first entry, this screecher, done, submission and picture, but I warn you - I'm very demanding and known to scare newbies away. I'm not offended, if you say no, I'll better wait for the bestiary mods..

But in return I ask you to do what I'm telling you to do, to work on where to I guide you. And, I like this creature to be much smaller, just because it is easier to integrate with less impact on its surrounding. Just let it be a mammal, give it its own traits. You don't have to categorise it as  primate, just describe it.

If you accept my offer, then start to mend your grammar and spellchecking, i hate to see wrong spelling, for I'm prone to use it myself next time.

Would be cool to have an answer soon - I've got some time for you next week, when I'm away from my comp.

You are not much further with this one than last year (here's your post) of back then, Wesley. To get things on site you need to put the necessary effort into it - listen to what people have to say here and deliver a decent version, which is somewhat well researched and consistent with the site. This takes its time and requires some work, just pitching the idea repeatedly won't help!

Check capitals! Some are wrong.

Tomorrow we will start. I mean today for me. :)

Wesley, could you please write down - without template, just for me, what you intend to do with this animal?

So far we have:
Mammal, no tail, nocturnal, loud voice with which it communicates at night, purplish fur, big eyes. Lives in trees.

Any other features as long arms, long or short fur? Has the fur any colour changes, has it a furred face, or is it black as well? Any special abilities? What is it known for, remembered? Does it taste good? Does it ever go to the bottom of the forest?
size (catlike?)

Such things! Brainstorm!

And don't forget to check your capitals above :)

I'm amazed you can see the Altario projects pile considering it is dwarfed by my unfinished projects. For which I apologise.
