An illustration to keep my fingers busy while I recuperate (from what, you ask?  Friends can read my latest Facebook note for the dramatic and unpleasant details...)

I am currently modelling a large part of the 'Grand Palace' in Sketchup, which will allow me to take 'snapshot' references from almost any angle I like and create pictures from them.
This means that should the Santhworld geniuses ever decide to add a New Santhala or city-based module, I could theoretically provide them with a complete 'environment'
of matching pictures, with hallways that join up to rooms, rooms that open onto balconies, courtyards that flow into gardens.... and so on...

This is a shot of the 'Nymph Fountain' in one of the courtyards (inspired by a French etching of a courtesan and by my visit to a famous Viennese palace :)  ) - hope you enjoy it!

A pity to hear about your ear problems, Judy, as I already posted on your Facebook page. But you seem to be already in good spirits as far as drawing is concerned - all the best that your health problems can soon be sorted out in the best possible way!  thumbup

Also interesting idea to work on a Grand Palace picture, which can then be embedded into something even larger and more interactive like a Santhworld module. Great start here so far!

There are a few issues with parts of the picture being very sharp (background walls) and others a bit blurry (e.g. hand of the statue, plants in front). Shadows/light could also maybe improved a bit here and there, but in general it looks really good already!  thumbup

Aura +1 for the picture and the general idea to make even more of it!

Very nice, Judith. :)  It is good to see someone using sketchup.  Perhaps I could get some pointers from you on how to convert sketchup into a workable Santh pic,  I've used sketchup before and had tried to combine the two.

A fantastic project, Judith. This would indeed be a great resource for Santhworld! And great start on the picture. That's one self-confident courtesan. Great attitude/posture and very sophisticated expression on the face. Aura!

One tiny comment: given the direction of the shadows cast by the statue and bushes, I would expect the left wall (the one in the shade) to cast a bit of a shadow on the floor and onto the adjacent wall, too. No?

I don't know what you're recovering from, but I hope that you are recovering, and quickly and fully!

Hello all! It's been a minute since I poked my nose in here. Can't remember if I ever did anything useful.

Ah, too bad that internet is so restricted in China, Ferra. Can't be much fun surfing the web that way if Big Brother's watching you... Hope you enjoy your stay nevertheless!

Hi, dear Arti and other developers!

This year I am in China and cannot use any Google services including YouTube. For this reason I stopped uploading new Nepris videos. I can also not read any comments there.

It just crossed my mind that this information might be useful to you.

Cheers

Short note: We had a bit of downtime Friday/Saturday night due to a server change. Site went online first, message boards took a while longer - now everything should be back to normal.
