Hey Cruci,

some info for you before you dive in writing this desert animal.

The name leads you already to what I wanted: A desert animal which is able to withstand extreme conditions. So if you go to wikipedia you'll find all you need.

I was probably thinking at Oryx dammah, a nearly white variety, which I imagined would look cool to have in great numbers roam around, as opposite to the black g'nus. But if you have any other ideas, I'm open also, but please don't copy the 'normal' oryx.

Name: Oryx - maybe it should be changed, for it is too obvious. The Shendar would probably call it O'ryx, maybe we should at least go for that - depends a bit in how many other entries it is already mentioned.

It would be cool to have Ma'hedj or similar as a second name (if not as first), for that would be a cool Easter egg. (but then the beast has to be whitish) , it was seen in old Egypt as a holy animal. Maybe - if you don't want to have them white, only a fraction of them are born like this and only these animals are regarded as something special?

I'll tell you more about territory later and migration patters (with which I still struggle).
If you want to have more to read - the whole center of the Rahaz-Dath is based on the Okavango area in Africa.

In general, these are the basics, you need to add more, santharise it...

Looking forward to work with you - but you know, I'm a merciless commentor, especially if 'my' area is concerned ;)

Thanks for that. Got a bit on at the moment, but I'll take a good look at it a bit later.

Waiiiiiit!   (Bard staggers back with a pile of Unfinished Projects so high her arms are trembling)  Let me stuff mine in there before you lock the room!  *looks guiltily around and snatches the Quenyss parchment off the top of the stack*
