Hi! I'm stuck in Nepris and need help. ((>_<))
Hildula is telling me that I took her books. I don't remember taking anything. However it's been a year since the last time I played so there is a lot I cannot remember. Now I tried giving her my books, I tried placing them, putting them back and all kinds of other commands. I suppose I should.... spoiler warning... put them on the shelves in the north west corner of her hut since this is where the treatises on the Twelvern faith stand.
Question: Which books do I return and how do I put them back on the shelf?

EDIT:
Nevermind! Guess I was too impatient and needed to try out more commands.

SPOILER:
I had to "drop" the books. This seems like a messy way to return books especially to somebody like Hildula. But hey, it worked!

Unfortunately I still don't know which books I had to return so I just dropped them all. Hopefully I don't need them anymore. :S

Hello there, Ferra! :)

Well, at any rate this problem seems to be solved. And I don't think you need any book later on... So - did you figure out the problem with the drawers already or is there anything else you want to know?  cool

Oh, and the books Hiludula wants BTW are:

- The Book on Dronomin (about a hilveling)
- The Book on Swampdwellers (among other things about a gnarco toad)

Both help in your adventures.

I figured out the drawers riddle with the help of this forum. And even then I needed several tries. :S Now that I know the solution it all seems easy. But how many dead ends I faced before that... One of the reasons I was confused is because I had so many texts in my inventory and from the conversations that I had a lot of clues which I all wanted to apply and tried to combine somehow. It would have been easier if I knew which items I didn't need anymore.

In the very beginning of the game I expected something straightforward like the game Uninvited. Never did I imagine so many riddles and those huge maps. It must have been a lot of hard work to create this game.
I liked how the end was unexpected. If there is a continuation I would be happy to play it as well.

SPOILER:
The undertaker reminds me of the pirate ghost.

EDIT: Woah, do I see ICQ and MSN in your profile? I thought MSN messenger doesn't exist anymore. :S

Glad to see you finally made it, Ferra! :D Hope the journey was worth it! thumbup It was indeed quite a bit of work to put it all together, and it's a pity if a certain puzzle is a bit too challenging and prevents players from seeing the rest of the game. It's not that we have a playtesting department... This was basically the work of 2-3 amateurs!

The inventory unfortunately grows quite a bit in the game. We didn't set a limit on how much a player can carry, so you can pick up unlimited amounts of things, and the longer the game lasts - and Nepris lasts quite a bit - the easier it is to lose track of your possessions... Well, the intention was anyway in case of a part 2 we'd have eliminated all items, so that you'd start empty-handed.

So yeah, while e.g. "Uninvited" was basically a short story, Nepris is a full-fledged role playing game with multiple party members, many battles, spells and all that jazz, lots of story, characters, animations and what not. Oh, and it's quite a challenge as you noticed, eh?

As for ICQ and MSN: I fear certain team pages or infos are have become rather outdated in the meantime... Happens to web sites that exist for 15+ years...  grin

Yay, finally made it. (^_^) And it was totally worth it.
Hm, wouldn't many people like to playtest though? It sounds like an interesting kind of work.
Good idea with the empty inventory! (Either that or something like an inventory in the order of how new an item is.)
It's pretty cool that the website is still active. 15 years is like a century in internet years!

Well, I wouldn't call the site "active"... lol It's been very passive the last 2-3 years or so. Basically I'm just keeping it alive, but that's fine as far as I'm concerned. Gives me focus to do my own stuff, which I couldn't do when the burden of managing it all weighed too heavy on me. Always look on the bright side... ;) cool

Hello all! It's been a minute since I poked my nose in here. Can't remember if I ever did anything useful.

Ah, too bad that internet is so restricted in China, Ferra. Can't be much fun surfing the web that way if Big Brother's watching you... Hope you enjoy your stay nevertheless!

Hi, dear Arti and other developers!

This year I am in China and cannot use any Google services including YouTube. For this reason I stopped uploading new Nepris videos. I can also not read any comments there.

It just crossed my mind that this information might be useful to you.

Cheers

Short note: We had a bit of downtime Friday/Saturday night due to a server change. Site went online first, message boards took a while longer - now everything should be back to normal.
