These are aimed more at serving for the wee overview circles than proper full fledged illustrations, thus the lack of background or intricate little customized accessories to the weapons. I hope that's still worth something. Just gonna see how far I get through them, nothing too serious ;) Comments welcome as usual

Very good, Jonael, and another aura +1 well deserved! The pictures might not be as breathtaking as others you've already drawn, but they serve their various purposes just fine to make a) a good addition to the entries, b) to enrich our polearms overview and c) to make them part in a Santhworld module as another weapon of choice for the player. Great idea to go ahead with using your first polearm as a template for the others and make a bunch of these weapons! Good job, Jonael! thumbup

Jonael

Great work here.  The pictures really bring these weapons to life.  Is your intention to use both Herlemens in the Herlemens entry?  Which one are you wanting as the overview circle pic?

One point on the Herlemen.  The entry says " It consists of a shaft of either wood or metal with two small axe blades, one on each end. Both are oriented in the same direction."  So I guess according to the entry the blades need to be on the same side?

Good work!   clap2

I am having trouble with the Kroyil Polearm, the description is... useless

"thin prong with a sharped tip" ... if a prong is what I think it is, then surely there's two tips? This is confusing, and makes a whole lot of difference

"and then iron bolts are slipped between the iron fittings, the hilt, and the tang of the blade" Bolts... slipped inbetween?! Do they know what a bolt looks like?

(sorry if this seems a little 'rough'.. I'll admit I'm a tad frustrated, only my fault for not being able to picture some of these weapons)

Concerning this matter: Well, I've tried to send a PM to Ruil, who wrote the entry. Hasn't been seen on the Dev Board for quiiiiiite a while (some years actually!), but if I remember correctly he went under another name later. Also, Ruil has been last seen on the RPG Board in May, so maybe he gets my PM and can provide a more detailed description!

I haven't had the time to sit down and paint properly just yet, but I did manage to sit down and have a quick run through the descriptions of the remaining pole arms. Attached are my impressions of them and, objection and feedback allowing, the draft verisons of the actual illustrations. As suggested, please have a look at whether you see the weapon as different after reading the description yourself. Hopefully with some feedback and the likes we'll get the weapon as close as possible to their creator's vision.

Ahhhh... Very nice to see that our arsenal of spears gets full attention, so that we'll have a brilliant overview eventually with all the various types! Really a wonderful idea to do it so thoroughly, Jonael!

I think basically your concepts look ok :)

Don't know how you'll handle the decorations on the Spear of Evathón showing a "lindorm holding a dangerous-looking storm cloud in its forelimbs" on the shaft... lol It's a bit of a complicated idea to put on a rather tiny shaft... But this shouldn't really be a problem - the spear is the important thing, and whatever is too complicated to do can be hinted at only, and it should do fine.

The Susilgerim spear is described as a "thin, needle-shaped piece of rock", so that's also a bit difficult to show, but it could be seen in a closeup as you show it in your picture. The broader one on the left (or is it the same, just turned around) isn't really needle-shaped methinks, but this is also a bit difficult to depict. In case of doubt I'd say the artist should have the license to interpret it his/her way - we can always adjust a description here and there mentioning some variations. ;)

Hello all! It's been a minute since I poked my nose in here. Can't remember if I ever did anything useful.

Ah, too bad that internet is so restricted in China, Ferra. Can't be much fun surfing the web that way if Big Brother's watching you... Hope you enjoy your stay nevertheless!

Hi, dear Arti and other developers!

This year I am in China and cannot use any Google services including YouTube. For this reason I stopped uploading new Nepris videos. I can also not read any comments there.

It just crossed my mind that this information might be useful to you.

Cheers
