Absolutely brilliant, Bard. Aura for you.

I like the new skin texture; it does really draw the eye to Lamskun, doesn't it? I also like the new sword; as a bastard sword, I believe it. Also the two "fangs" - very nice, and very fitting. Congratulations to your husband for that excellent idea.

Did you decide to leave Jordwoc's weapon alone or are you waiting with a decision on that?

With deepest and most heartfelt thanks,

Ath.

Excellent update as far as I'm concerned!  thumbup I guess it also adds something to the picture that the guy in front contrasts now a bit with those in the back in terms of skin colour - works rather nice nicely I'd say!  grin

Ath - yes, it may be a bit disproportionate but works better visually to balance the picture.  Call it artistic license.  Glad you like the end result!

Art - thanks for the feedback, always appreciated.  I'm happy with the skintones now as well.

One other thing I did was increase contrast and saturation over the whole picture.  While I liked the greyed-out version for its swampy look, this second draft is a bit more striking, no?

So yes, I'm done with the picture if everyone else is happy.

Great picture, really makes the story come to life. The chnages from the first draft to the next are really good.  The skin looks much more like skin now.
Looks like the picture is a crop from a bigger one.  Judging by the guy on the right that is barely in the pic.  Not a problem, I am just wondering if there is a bigger picture somewhere.

Yes, fantastic picture. What a gift for a poet to have his work illustrated so.

And Athviaro: good work once again. Given your evident interest in alliterative verse,  may I permit myself to give you a book tip? If you haven't already read it, you may enjoy Seamus Heaney's translation of Beowulf.

It truly is; I'm honoured.

Also, Shabakuk, always feel free to give me book tips. It may take a while to get to them, but I'll try.

Arti,

I assume you put up the arrow for this, seeing as you edited it; it's not ready, unfortunately. I've made some changes just now, and a decision needs to be made on the annotations. Personally, I like the option of not having them there. If expandable inline explanations were possible - so they could be expanded and collapsed individually, or even toggled on/off - that would be great, but footnotes are probably just as good; it's down to what is doable/easier for you.

Anyhow, I've put the gloss in pink so it stands out and made some edits in pale blue. I hope that's enough for the Importance.

Regards,

Athviaro

Footnotes are the easiest way to do it - expanding and collapsing is a whole different things and would need some complicated scripts which we haven't used anywhere yet. So therefore I'd go with footnotes. If we do it that way then the "clean" version isn't really necessary, because the text itself is clean, only will have the footnote numbers in brackets, right?

Good to see some updates in the Importance section as well, works for me, Ath!  thumbup

No need for a clean version too, no; it's for a) here, so it can be read thus by all of you if you so desire and b) in case that's easier for you to use in integrating it.

Cool idea to write it like this, Ath!

Just one idea, don't kow if it is possible to realise: do some more breaks, it would be easier to read, though Shaba's example runs on also.
