As you may recall I have been heading up north. My intention was to visit the Vertan men at the tip of the iceland coast but then i heard a dark rumour concerning their choice of clothing.  I decided I would prefer not to find my tattooed skin in a  Vertan wardrobe.  To be safe I drew this picture based on secondhand stories of the tribes.

Vertan man

COMMENTS Welcome

The fish is made up.  The cave is made up. His spear/harpoon is made of ice.   His shirt is made of human skin. enjoy.

 :D  Yay.

Very atmospheric, Seeker.  Love the cave, the ice spear is awesome, and the fish are great.

I think, if I did have a quibble, it might be the skin colour.  May be just my monitor, but it seems green to me.

Lovely cave, Seeker! I've been to places like that on Iceland. Nice dramatic picture composition, too!

Would the hunter's body need to cast a shadow onto the ground?

Another literally cool pic in the series of great pics Judy and you are working on these days, Seeker! So that means of course an aura +1 for you - guess I really have to start integrating some of the finished pics for the next update, as we're having quite a few this time... :D

Ok, now to the Vertan hunter: I think the cave, including the ice and water, the stalagmites and stalactites are really impressive! Caves in general a great to have in order to use them in Santhworld adventure scenario - with a some colour changes and adjustments such pictures are great to reuse.

As pointed out above already some shadows seem to be missing here however, also the guy holding the spear could use a few more details if we use a closeup of him. And closeups of tribe people are always helpful to make the differences between tribes clear. So a bit more work in that direction wouldn't be wrong. - The scene as a whole however is quite brilliantly captured! Like it very much!  thumbup

His shirt is made of human skin. enjoy.

For me it begs the question ... what did he do with the rest of the human? I hope he shared it with his family, and didn't let anything go to waste.

Very nice picture, Seeker.

You will, of course, Seeker, allow me the opportunity to use this wonderful figure, when completed, as an avatar and portrait for a character on the RP side, yes?  Unless you want to join and use it.  Or, if you'd rather just not have it used at all.  Or, if you'd rather just have it used by anyone but me.... shocked

OK here is the update.  Including the ice cave by itself in case it is useful. I have the full picture in a bigger version if it is ever needed.

No problem, I am just glad you like them.

Hey Alt, let me know how you use the pic on the development side.  I have never really been involved over there and I am curious how pictures may get used.  Simply put I am wondering if there are more ways I can help the players over there with pictures. I just dont know how they get used.

Well, I'd hope to use the detail of the Vertan man's head for my Avatar, but the entire Picture as my Character Portrait as I did with your wonderful Remusian pic for Altario.  If you look, I gave you full credit for the Pic.  Then I build a Character Description around it, using that character in the different stories.

Due to the transient nature of Characters and Stories, I'm not sure how you could proactively help specifically the RP side.  But, by creating your wonderful, wonderful pics on this side, and thus creating visual aides for places, animals, plants, etc, and allowing us permission to use them in the context of a story, that would be great.

For instance, if I had a story running through the city of Milkengrad, I could post your pic in the lead post, thus creating an atmosphere.  Granted, I could just include a link to the Milkengrad entry, but having the pic right there would be that much more special.

In other words, just keep doing the fantastic work that you do here, for it is the world upon which we on the RP side, live, love and adventure in. :D  And every picture that you, or Bard Judith, and all of our wonderful artists, create just adds another special layer to it.

That's a fine piece of improvement on a picture that was already splendid before. Great work, my friend!

Landscape and places pictures in general could be used for specific RPG stories as Forum banners, which lends this Forum part its own atmosphere. Depends of course on where the story goes, but yeah, that's an option at any rate... :)

Thanks for the update on this one, Seeker! I'll see to also include it in this week's update then!  thumbup Thanks as well for the separate background - a great resource which should come in handy!
