A small gift for Seth! I came across her marvelously whimsy creation while googling how to drain the bathroom sink*. It's (or at least: meant to be) a short mood piece that captures the essence of the VerKnerThaerar.

I am not sure about the middle-section (0:15-0:44). The idea was to make it non-melodic (compared to the chorale-like introduction) to mirror the Nerther's work as something socially gauche but necessary - "prowling the streets, shaking their heads on occasion of the dirty dispositions of their fellows, mucky and smelly from head to toe, but proud to be the cleanest thing in town" to borrow Mr Anfang's phrase. I get the feeling the middle section ended up too un-melodic - does it grate on your ears too? I wondering if I should scrape the section and replace it with something more chorale-like?

I attach a pdf version of the score and a mp3 file of the Sibelius playback. The computerised playback is a bit awkward: a human performance would have played the notes smoothly and connected (legato), and sounded the chords more softly.

I hope you are all well. :)

EDIT: The board thought the file was too large to attach. I tried to set up a download link but I have seven left thumbs when it comes to computers - did it work?.

* Don't ask.**
** Apparently, as a man, I am expected to know how to do this stuff. I feel my upbringing has been deficient. (I had to google it!)***
*** Surely the best way to drain ANYTHING is to reason with it? And if that fails, cajole, argue, threaten or sue the sink?

Ah, Coren - are you intending to turn into one of those annoying people who post half a dozen supremely beautiful submissions within the space of but a few minutes, making their poor fellow developers all run out of aura points to give?  ;)

Likes!  Me likes!  And even the non-legato touch is rather...appropriate.  A sort of effectively dwarven heavy-handedness, suggesting a nicely thick-booted trampling through the score....   :)

(catches the scampering Shab in the small of the back with a crumpled ball of paper, the scribbles on which suggesting that Judith has been in the throes of bad poetry again...)

*rolls on the floor in pain* Ack! Bad poetry! That was mean !

Do you know that story by Peter S. Beagle wherein the hero exorcises a ghost by means of a bad poetry duel? Whosoever recites the most dreadful poetry wins!

*steps over the felled Shab, still absent-mindedly humming the tune she just heard.*
That is amazing! I love it! many auras (well, alright, I can only give one at a time) and a firm I-owe-you-an-entry.
