On the flavouring issue your brought up, Alysse: Yep, any help to make categorization better would be appreciated, so if you have some time to spare to add entries to other categories as well, then go for it - I'll add them once you're done! :)

It's not always easy here to put everything into the right category (and additional categories that is), but I can only recommend that whenever new entries are made, all the correct categories should be mentioned right from the start at the submission - otherwise entries get placed in only one category.

A belated Happy Birthday Alysse! I sent you two mails on the 30th of August, but both came back as failure delivery. Maybe something is wrong with your e-mail?

Hello Alysse! Grun commented on one of my entries and she suggested I have you look over a grammatical aspect of it. If you would be so kind could you have a look here: Ode to Foiros

Hi Alysse,

Any opinions you have on the Sophronian Language would be most welcome.  I have based it very loosely upon Kuglimz, as they both come pretty directly from the same root (the Mynians).

Thank you!

Alysse, my dear northern sister...can you check my Kaaer beliefs thread and brainstorm some suitable name ideas for my Spirit Gods?

Light Father
Night Mother
Earth Brother
Swift Sister
Beastlord (another word for lord? Master?)

I do appreciate your linguistic talents!  grin

Okay, let's see...will these do?

Light Father---Suriot (lit: "father [of] light"  from Kuglimz)

Night Mother-- Leirgor(lit: "mother darkness")
Another possibility might be Leirdyve (lit: "mother moon")

Earth Brother--Gynura (lit: "brother [of] plains/land")  or maybe "Gynturg" ("brother [of] stone")

Swift Sister--Bynugh(lit: "sister [of] running/speed") or maybe "Bynapyrl" ("sister [of] water")

Beastlord--Durgho(lit:"leader of animals"

Not all of these are direct from the Kuglimz.  I have tried to adapt them slightly for the Kaaer.

If for whatever reason you don't like or can't use those, or even just want more euphonious sounding words  :) , just let me know.  Those are the most direct translations I can give you.

I have no idea what euphonius means, but I'll use these! They're perfect!  :D

On this map:

http://www.santharia.com/maps/continents/sarvonia_north_1.htm

There is a forest on the upper right corner called the Wood Forest. This needs a new name. Is it primarily a Kuglimz forest? Or can we call it something Kaaer/Orcen?

Well, it's a bit further north than the Kuglimz main territory.  I think that it's more likely to be Kaaer territory.  I've always seen the Kuglimz people as not being further north than the Imlith mountains there.  No settlements, for sure; maybe the occasional traveler.  So Ka'aer is fine.

Hey, what if we called it the Palz Forest?  That means "Woods" in Kuglimz  :D

I'll look into it.  Perhaps there's some elven influence too.

Also, can you look into possible Kaaer/Kuglimz names for the stars and for a special artifact called the Mask of the Tree Cousin...(Ret'sur?). It is an artifact supposedly made from the bark of a Pendrowe. More explained in the Themed'lon history. :D

Did I mention how glad I am that you're back? hug

Aaaaaand Alysse!

I've been thinking of the translation for Kaaer'dar'shin...

Since the Kaaer are known as the First Born or the Hunters or even The First Hunters in their origin myth, can we invent some orcish/Kuglimz wording to reflect that?

I know I am so needy lately...quite unusual except in cases of needing names!  :P

I've done a little research and come up with this.

Ahn  -  First  (from the Kh'omchr'om forum)
Kal or K'al  -  Born, to be born  (Made this one up!)
uck  -  Suffix denoting any occupation involving combat  (Kh'omchr'om forum)

So, First born would  (or could) be:

Ahn'kal'uck
Ahn'kal Uck
Ahn Kal'uck

Whichever takes your fancy, really!

Ohhh I like those! I'll use them. Thank you, Apprentice Tharoc. I shall give you a break from your back breaking labor now.

Along with this, I was also looking for a literal translation of the word "Kaaer'dar'shin"... maybe Kaa'er'dar'shin is a form of really old Kh'omchr'om or Kuglimz words. Maybe words not used anymore? Formal title of something?

The name Kaaer'dar'shin has to have a meaning somehow.  huh
