This is only a slight idea at this point.

What if there were to be some kind of an early spring.

Let me put this in a semi timeline deal.

First month of new year: Weather begins to warm
Trees begin to bud.

Month two: Cold snap. Freezing rain and such.

Month three (or wherever spring is)
Trees in a semi comatos state, lacking energy to create leaves, begin to die.

I'm basing this on stuff happening right now.
We had something of an early spring here in toronto.
Trees and such started to bud.
i expect the recent freezing rain will have killed them.

Hey, Taka, didn't know you were a Canuck, far less right next door in Toronto!

Over here in Oshawa my maple, my magnolia, and my willow tree were all putting out tentative buds - now the vicious wind from the north and the freezing rain has coated those buds with ice.  Sigh.... I wonder how many flowers the short Canadian spring will bring this year?

The 'Year of the False Spring' would make a nice little paragraph in a Place entry's History section, certainly!  We'd have to choose a yet-undeveloped area where it happened, though,  so that the various places within that area would all have it recorded in their History section, so perhaps somewhere out of Manthria would be appropriate...

That i am, perhaps I should... oh nevermind.
Yes it does sound like a good idea. Though my Santharian time has been muchly limited by school.
Very heavy acedemic semester at the momment.
I'll see what I can write up. I'll take a quick look at the map to find somewhere. I think it may have something to do with the lake effect, darned thing...
This could just be another suggestion, but as for the time period, it could be anywhen.

Are Shabby and Dek the same person in my mind.  Strange.

Ah yes, forgot to point out to Shabakuk that Chapter 5 is ready for testing - will do so now!

I am pleased it is going well for you though Seeker ... can't wait to try it and die. :D

No, I didn't Seeker. :( I think it is Master Anfang who is doing the testing

Waiiiiiit!   (Bard staggers back with a pile of Unfinished Projects so high her arms are trembling)  Let me stuff mine in there before you lock the room!  *looks guiltily around and snatches the Quenyss parchment off the top of the stack*
