I feel some points are missing so please tell which parts do you think need more development and I will make them redone.

The Crimson Rose

Basic Overview of the plant

The crimson rose,  also called "Assassin´s Rose" or "Lady´s heart". It´s the symbol of the Kar´ii order of the Echiilianni and they are the ones who mostly cultivate them. They use it as a vengeance symbol. When someone receives one it means a certain action to be taken against him soon (maybe death, maybe worse).

Description

The plant resembles the common rose except for it´s black stem, with a lot of black thorns. It height is more or less than a fore. It have 7 petals, 4 exteriors and 3 interiors, enveloping 5 black pistils (in the shape of a grape but a bit smaller). Those petals are rough and of a deep crimson color. It have no leaves and it´s scent is strong and sweet.

Territory

The flower can only be found in the Cyhalloi continent, spread all along the island of Guldor (however it was originated in the island of Dorolak). In spite of the extreme cold weather, the flower manages to survive. Sometimes it mean to grow by the protection of a rock, deep within a cavern, or where the conditions are suitable.
The Echiilianni build cottages where they cultivate tons of flowers, protecting them from the harsh weather.

Usages

The petals are used as powder to make someone enter a deep sleep. The powder may be put in a drink, food or just alone. However, a great amount or an overdose of this powder ma conduce to a never-ending sleep, followed by death if not neutralized on time. To neutralize its effects, an antidote is needed. The antidote is made with the stem and thorns of the rose. Extracting the sap of the stem and cutting the thorns you must boil both for half an hour. Also used in small portions to counter insomnia.
The pistils that give the rose the name of "Lady´s Heart" (where all Echiilan´s hate and vengeance desire resides according to the myth), are eatable. They are sweet and the Echiilianni make a soft and energetic beverage from them.

Reproduction

Each pistil functions as a seed. So when the rose withers (between 10 and 13 days), the pistils give birth to new roses. Not all the times the 5 pistils form another rose but the average is that 1 rose gives birth to 4 new ones.

Myth/Lore/Origins

The crimson rose was originated in the orc island of Dorolak. The myth refers to the torture of Echiilian and her final thrown in a hole. Her blood was absorbed by the land and turned some rose plantation in a clearing of the pine tree forest where was the hole. The fact is that when the orcs realized of this transformation, they started to fear and evade the place. After a few months and due to the fast reproduction of the flower, they realized it as a threat and their fear turned into anger. One stormy and windy night, a great amount of orcs, armed with huge sticks, started to hit the roses in order to destroy them all. Doing this, the petals aroused and started to float over the land, finally being transported by the wind to Guldor´s island. That night is remembered as "The crimson night" by all the Kasumarii because the sky turned to this color. It´s also said to be the day Lady Echiilan was reborned. The few roses and petals that were left in the island of Dorolak were burned with the orcs corpses that die, victims of the petals sleep effect.

Can the powdered petal be used as a ferterizer of any sort?  I mean can one take the petal and use it to seed more that the usual flowers?

Good idea.

Maybe used the powdered petals to increase the reproduction cycle of some other flowers? Or just as a ferterizer to improve the lands fertility of other plants or flowers?

What do you think?

Well I am thinking of it being used as a ferterlizer used to enrich soil.  SOmething that could

a) Be sold for a heavty profit.
b) Be used to enrch the forest that the elfs lived in.

What would you think?

A great idea to use a crimson rose as a sign of vengeance symbol! Spilling!

Some critics though:

Description:
A bit more please, height, is it a climbing variety  or what else? Has it a scent? Which one? What about the leaves, the fruit?Shape of the petals and leaves? Though it is a rose, and roses are described already, they differ greatly in how they are looking.

Territory:
Isn‘t Cyhalloi a bit cold? Though the entry is not up yet, Viresse described this very cold and northern dark continent as having a tundra and lots of snow and ice (Maps..forum).
you might need to mention, that it is a very robust variety, lol.

Usages:
I would use only the poisonous aspect. Using it as an fertiliser makes the poisonous effect somehow...ridiculous. In addition you would need a lot of powder to fertilise, or you have to add, that you only need very tiny quantities - and then who would use a fertiliser which with you can poison people easily? This goes not very well together. Export the poison, describe it as not noticeable if used or anything else..how works it apart from bringing the people to sleep without return? (Lung function? Heart??)

Reproduction:
I haven‘t looked at the other roses, but they reproduce surely not via the petals, but their fruits. If you wish to do this, then you need an argument for it, and then it isn‘t a rose anymore, I would say. Why do you want to use such an uncommon way? I‘m normally for new things and unusual ones (ask Judith), but in this case I would let follow the rose all(most??) other Santharian plants so far.

Myth:
You can however keep your myth with spreading by the petals, it hasn‘t be as it will have happened in reality, by transporting the seeds...the seeds could have been transported by the same wind, but the red petals of course are more picturesque.

Last not least: A lot of spelling and grammar mistakes are still in, some careful reading needed!

Maybe you could use a very small dose to counter insomnia?

Talia's comments are both thorough and accurate. If you could add more botanical detail and lengthen some sections, this will make a nice addition to both the flora and legend of Santharia.  I could proofread it for you and catch the spelling/grammar if you like.

I  don't understand the bit about "looks like most roses except for the crimson colour"... I mean, most roses ARE crimson!

Perhaps something with a bit more detail, like:  "The plant resembles most common roses, except that the stems and thorns are black, and the petals are large and loosely furled.  The flowers' distinctive shaded colouration ranges from a rusty red at the tips to a deep crimson in the centre, very much like blood."

Perhaps a more unique name would then be suitable, like "Blood Rose" or "Assassin's Rose"?

Anyhow, a nice idea, and a striking plant.  Let's see how it edits!

Going to edit it.

Sorry for the mistakes of grammar and spelling. Next time I will check it with a dictionary by my side. (Just a bit lazy)

Thanks Talia, Lamertu and Judith for your help here. Please check tomorrow for the new edition if you want.

About the crimson color, well.. (looks embarrased), I hadn´t a precise idea of what that color was so I put that also assuming roses are mostly red. :o

Best regards, Sahndorf.

There are spelling programs Sahndorf, just can't tell you which ones, because you surely don't have a mac, just look for them, it is easier then, though they don't find all mistakes of course...

Edited and also spell checked. ;)

Hope the program did a good job. Personally I prefer the dictionary method (I do not trust in those programs but let give them a chance).

Judith, I thank you for your spelling/grammar help suggestion but I don´t want you to lose your time. Thanks anyway. (Of course please don´t stop commenting on the entries)

Best regards, Sahndorf.

Ok, I've prepared the entry already for the site, as it seems fine. Though I haven't found the word "contrarrested" in any dictionary...
