Categorization
This plant is both a water plant and a edible one.

Basic Overview of the Plant
The Waterberry or Her'e'em(Her-e-emm) is often seen growing along side rivers, streams, and lakes as a small bush that mostly grows throughout the autumn and winter seasons. This thorny bush in full growth can grow up to about half a fore in size and a full fore in width producing throughout the autumn and winter seasons anything up to 300 individual purplish berry that grow about 2 Nailsbreadths in diameter and are commonly used for jams and pastes and for the delicious Purpleberry Pie made in Voldar. The colors this bush's leaves turn change frequently throughout its period, when it first grows at the start of autumn the leafs are a dark crimson color. As the bush grows its berry the leaves turn from orange, green and then brown as the bush starts to die from the end of the winter reason, why no one knows. The bush mostly resides around fresh water rivers, lakes and streams to drink large amounts of water to keep its berry saturated.

Description:

As said, this bush is a small, thorny and often rough looking bush growing about half a fore from ground to tip but include the root also and the bush is about half a fore taller. The bush starts growing its crimson colored leaves often growing 2 to 3 Nailsbreadths long in a arrow head shape. At the start of the autumn period and from there the bushe's purple-blue berry start to take shape as small bundles of green balls among the leaves. Between the autumn season the berry start to grow bigger and the leaves that are full size now, turn into a dark orange color, then green. By this time its winter and the berrys have grown to there full of about 2 Nailsbreadths in size and ready for picking, the leaves are going a dark brown and are dying. By the time spring starts and the berry have been picked or are droped to the ground, as the bush stands dormant waiting for the next autumn.

It grows next to large masses of fresh water for one main reason and that's to saturate its large amount of berry for a long enough time for them to grow ripe and keep itself alive of course. Sometimes these bushes are grown in a controlled environment on farms and orchards and are picked especially for Jams and Pastes but have to be watered very often to give it the same or more amount of water the streams, lakes and rivers could provide..

Picture drawn by myself over a period of about a week: liquid2k.com/sieken/talkenberry.bmp

Territory
This plant mostly lives around the many fresh water lakes, streams and rivers anywere on the continent of Sarvonia but can also be found as far away as some of the islands surrounding Sarvonia also. The Waterberry is very common.

Usages
The berrys in the winter time are picked, crushed and cooked for the use of jams and pastes eaten on breads and cake dishes, but can also be cooked within a pie itself as they do in Voldar where the pie is famous and many come to visit Voldar to taise the Purpleberry pie.

Reproduction
Reproduction is a simple matter. At the end of the growing season of the bush the berrys plan is to fall to the ground and over the corse of time the berry is supposed to rott away leaveing the pip within the berry to be planted into the ground, over a period of time where the river in flooding seasons might wash the mud over the pip and grow a new Waterberry.

Yum yum yum!

I foresee a recipe for a Waterberry pie coming Santharia's way very shortly - I think I finally have all the ingredients..

(bard smacks her lips)

Needs some editing/spellchecking and a bit more detail in Territory and Usage (WHERE exactly do they grow - are there vast fields of these cultivated along the XXX river, or wild waterberries in the swamps near Klinsor, or what?  Feel free to put them in places that have little flora/fauna detail - it makes the picture just that much richer.

And speaking of pictures...wow, Llian, have you been hiding your light under a bushel or what?  The illustration made my mouth start watering!   Only one critique - the leaves are almost toooooo perfect - you hardly ever see an unblemished leaf in nature.  How about adding a bit of that orange shading you described (would set off the rich purple-blue of the berry) and a line of crumbled brown along one edge?

Also, Art often asks for backgrounds.  Perhaps the palm of someone's hand would work well here - a tight focus showing just the whorls and lines of the skin under the berry, no fingers or anything else?

Thanks for creating this lovely fruit, and its illustration - just what we needed!  I see myself going out water-berry gathering this afternoon......

Territoy and Usage Updates....this better Judith? :)

Territory
This plant mostly lives around the many fresh water lakes, streams and rivers anywere on the continent of Sarvonia but can also be found as far away as some of the islands surrounding Sarvonia also. The main areas of which this bush is cultivated in vast and controlled numbers are mostly around the Eight Winds Bay, due south of Beornoth on both sides of the river Liben, growing all the way down to the town of Tomac. Both of these towns use the berrys to make a rich jam and paiste from them to be eaten on bread and cake dishes.

The other area of which the Waterberry is grown under control of farmers is around the number of rivers near Voldar. The rivers that surround the 4 towns Voldar, Milkengrad, Cemphiria and Westhron have the Waterberry growing of both sides of there banks and grow back out into the Aurora Fields towards Thyslan. In Voldar is where the Waterberry has its fame, that is where they make the famous Purpleberry Pie, all races and people alike come to Voldar to sample this most tempting dish exclusive to this area with the secret resipe.

Usages
The berrys in the winter time are picked, crushed and cooked for the use of jams and pastes eaten on breads and cake dishes. The jam itself after being made is sold at local stalls and markets so that the public may eat the fine taiste of the berry. The berry can also be used to be added to many of the sweet and pudding dishes around the continant. Exclusive to the Voldar area is where the famous Purpleberry pie is made from the berry of the Waterbush. The berry is chopped and then added with an array of other berrys, put into a pastry and baked as a pie where people from around the Voldar area and surrounding villages come to eat and enjoy.

__________

As to the picture i nearly half killed myself doing that..lol and thank you for the compliment, however i showed Art the picture a few days ago and i THINK he was cool with it.Ff i tried drawing a palm i would proboly mess the whole thing up as i cant drawcreatures or humans to savemylife...

As Judith said, mmmmmm, want some...and the pic! I really know how hard it was to get this, when drawing the Mil'no I decided never to do a plant again (and it is not as good as yours) But perhaps you could give it a slightly shaded background, like it ould be a pic from a book, then it woul look even better.

One question though:
"producing throughout the autumn and winter seasons anything up to 300 ..."
producing during the winter season???In ice and frost?Or does it grow only in moderate regions?you could harvest it however during the winter - frozen.iIf you want to keep it, you should ad that it has some anti freezing liquid in the leaves and berries, some plants have such things..

Ok, to repeat it once and for all, boys and girls:

We only use original work here on Santharia!

I've finally found your pic, and I assume you haven't sold it to this site:

After talking to Artimidor, he asked me to reply to this with the truth, so i have.

Well the first time Art showed that to me over ICQ it shocked me a few days ago. Now i know it looks strange but that drawing WAS done by me and was added to my personal site about a week ago now,how they got that picture is beyond my train of thought. Originally i went to my art teacher Patrick Brannagan a few weeks ago infact and asked him if he could help me color and color only something that i would like to draw for a website i venture to.

He asked me about the website i told him, he thought it was a great idea and agreed to it, so after a few my art lesson for a whole week i stayed behind and Mr. Brannagan gave me to "Classical" tips on drawing realistically, because i seem to also draw ether TO much detail or cartooney. Admittedly he did draw (for the standards reason for the website) the much greater details such as the water droplets, but after that he wanted me to complete it myself because it was my work and not his (which i can understand). So the drawing was finished after a few days because i had to go home after an ouror two to tend to my grandmar who is ill at the moment, and the next few days was spent with me and Mr.Brannagan both coloring it together, i really cannot color without making the Berry, plant, whatever looks a little unrealistic, so he colored most of the Berry and leaves while showing me some of his own techniques at the same time. (He paints for a living he sells his paintings as well as teach).

We scanned it at school (as i have not got a scanner at home as Artimidor knows and i think Quellion can back me up there also)and i placed it on a disk and brought it back home for it to be put up here and saved on my site.

Now whether Mr.Brannagan works on that site where it was found, i don't know whether it was stolen i don't know, i know however that i have e-mailed there site several times now and not once received a reply back tome other than some automated stuff saying "thank you for your letter" and so forth.

I same was with the plant i drew ages ago "The Oran'Jule" that plant was drawn by myself but i could not color it Uregal had to help me if you guys remember, same with the Llian pic Quellion helped me that time, i can draw, i just cant color to make it realistic. But to be perfectly honest i have absolutely no idea how that picture go there and i cant ask my teacher because he is on a training course in London, when hes back however i will ask if he might of used it elsewhere, but i cant see him doing that so my conclusion is it was taken....how it was from a privet site is beyond me, but rest assure i did draw that with help from my teacher.

ether way however my drawing does not have to go up on the site..i can understand perfectly where Artimidor is coming from as it could put him in trouble with others. I would never openly just steal a picture from somewhere to place as my own, i have no reason to lie, have i?. And i would never risk my position on the team where i love working with you people, not to mention to be branded as a flier from this day forward...the situation sounds very far fetched, but its the truth.

Will do no good; they never will prevail

I ever thought they would.

Shall feel the stubborn ounces of my weight."
